I love how Barry really rubbed salt in the wound. “Today brought me the peace I need. I have you to thank for that and I’ll always be grateful”

This episode was incredible after nine long years we finally got to see what happened that night.
Finally
After long last
from every timeline and angle
Anyone else get deja Vu or flash back to the first time they saw all these moments happen separately
yup
Barry’s acceptance of his past and thanking Eobard was the biggest slap in his face he could have give him. His empathy cuts like diamonds into Thawne. Which makes his final scream of agony just so satisfying
"Never fight back hate with more hate. Fight it back with love." That's why Thawne couldn't cope with Barry's words.
This episode actually felt like how the comics are between Barry and Thawne

Great point
We’ll really it’s the hate and inability to move foward
Well the negative speed force kind of has that effect on people.
@@judgedredd2039 It just enhances negative thoughts and feelings. Barry used negative speed force many times but he's never done anything bad
This was one of the greatest episodes on the series. I truly wish Thawne would of listened to Barry, and went back home.
His ego got in the way
Yea he doe and the ego is going to send him on the path of getting destroyed for good in 2022 either way it’s over for the reverse flash
On God
I already miss good Eobard Thawne
If he did that Barry woulda been erased from existence, Thawne has to create the Flash vice versa type thing it's an endless loop.
You can see the pity on Barry's face as Thawne rants about how he will dedicate his life to destroying Barry. Because Barry knows how Thawne's quest will end, that his goal will ultimately bring him nothing but pain and misery.
but all that pain and misery cause him to rebuild his hatred in another thwane who still hates him for stealing Iris. all Eddie can do is to start a new fued with the flash. think about what happen to eddie when he shot himself and struck by lightning through a window but not the roof.
i wasnt talking about barry i was talking about eobard.
All that is left for barry is to create the reverse flash, i think we will se this kn the following episodes
And this will end with him killing himself...
Barry did everything he could to sway Thawne away from his evil plan, but Thawne refused to listen. When hatred dictates one's entire life, only tragedy follows.😢
Thawne basically shot himself in the foot for trying to kill Barry, and now his fate is inevitable.
Ironically if he didn't kill Nora here or Barry, Both thawne and Barry wouldn't get their powers and the speed force wouldn't exist
@@bizzaroblake2519 the normal Harrison wells would have made the particle accelerator much later than Eobard and flash would be born
@@AriaLewis3024 that's not true. The death of Nora Allen is a fixed point in time as it now has been confirmed. It has to happen. What thawne said was a lie to Barry.

I feel like with this scene grant really feels like the definitive flash with his acceptance of thawne, grant will always be the flash just like chris evans or rdj with cap and iron man, he really deserves the appreciation even after everything the shows gone through.
Ezra will never come close to this portrayal of flash idc
Dc themselves said that Grant is the definitive and best Flash we have right now. Ezra certainly isn't with everything he has done he will now be the perfect reverse flash

Really can't believe that the final 5 episodes of the season is where things get good. Like screw everything before last week. This is our true season start
Edit: Sorry if I wasn't clear enough but I meant that the final 5 episodes is where the season begins for us. The final five episodes include Oliver's return
I think it started with episode 9 when Oliver aka Green Arrow returned is when the season started to get good.
Now hold on, I do agree with you but Oliver making a come back is still the best. Cause it all started with Oliver Queen from very beginning of this arrowverse series. Our current Barry has become “future” Barry. From his perspective, the future Barry we saw back in 2015 when first watching the show was a Barry who lived a life where his parents weren’t murdered. The worst night of Barry’s became the worst night of thawne’s, because we all know this night leads him to his erasure from existence in S8
Even though he got that peace in season 2, it was immediately made invalid because Zoom killed his dad. This day brought him that peace back, and he’s finally able to move forward in his life and be happy without the weight of this night slowing him down, able to let go of the darkness this night brought him. He’ll always miss and grieve his parents, but he’s in a place where the pain doesn’t weigh on him anymore, and that’s weirdly thanks to Thawne and his desire to kill him
@@nicktroisi6347 Thawne thought he was using this moment to control Barry’s life, but he did the opposite.
This series has really taken some swings and misses but this was a homerun. 1:27 - 1:42 - one of the best moments in the show's history. Reverse is trying everything im his powers to hurt Barry. But Barry is showing humanity, pity, but at the same time, the appreciation for what Thawne did. Because Barry finally understood that the best way to defeat Eobard was not by fighting him, not by screaming at him, but rather by showing Barry's humanity and compassion. This was the event that always needed to happened, because Barry wouldn't have ever been the same without it. Reverse had never, and I mean Never expected smth like that in this situation.

who is Malcolm Thawne and why did Nora Allen and henry Allen abandon Barry's twin brother Eddie?
@@svenrek7688 in the comics, the Thawnes were having a baby and the doctor on duty was drunk. He failed to save their baby. The Allens had just delivered two healthy twin boys. So to cover his ass and so neither couple would leave empty handed, he took one of the Allen twins (Malcolm) and passed him off as the Thawnes' baby and told the Allens one of their boys didn't survive. Malcolm grew up in an abusive environment, resented Barry for having a better life, and became the villain Cobalt Blue.

He got an brillant mind and yet so much anger that never let to anything else in his life
Until his memories were taken from him and he did.
He is obsessed with the flash and felt unworthy by his idol so he became his greatest enemy because now his idol notices him or in s1 barry's case needs him and sees him as a mentor
Keep in mind this is the season 1 reverse flash all over again..he hasn't offed Barry's mother yet. This is young Eobard who believes his life has been ruined by Barry. Not the season 8 psycho we see

It’s ironic how reliving the worst day of your life, literally in this case, can bring you the peace you’ve been longing and looking for your whole life. Before this day, I don’t think Barry could ever forgive Eobard for everything, so he’d always be stuck in the cycle of violence with him, but now, he’s finally able to truly move on with his life without the pain and darkness of this night dragging him back and keeping him from being truly happy. He’ll always miss his parents, but he’s not gonna let that keep him from moving on and living his best life. This is truly a full circle moment for Barry, and it’s great to see. It’s also ironic Thawne’s destiny is to be trapped in a cycle of trying to kill Barry Allen, and it leads to his own death in the end.
And Thawne's scream says it all. He knew that Barry was right yet was unable to cope with what Flash said. And ultimately, that's what led him to what we all saw in 8x20 : always wanting to destroy Barry and not hesitating to use the Negative Forces to start up an Armageddon just to destroy Barry, which backfired and ended up by Eobard dying from his own attack...
I'd love to see a 6 episode miniseries prequel about Eobard's Backstory in the 25th Century
@@jamestoner3900 Me too. He deserves it.
I love how Barry has come to accept this dark event in his life and has found peace with it, whilst Thawne screams 'NOOOOOOO!' since he now knows hes screwed either way later down the line.
Also Thawne should have heeded Yoda's quote in a way "Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering."
I always wondered why future flash just left Thawne in the past like that. Some thought it was because the alterations to the timeline wiped that flash from existence until Thawne started changing things in his efforts to create the Flash early with the particle accelerator but in reality, Future Barry knew all along how things were going to play out so he let the timeline continue as he experienced it.
Exactly. Had Flash taken Thawne back to the future, it would've altered the timeline since Thawne as Harrison Wells was responsible for Barry becoming the Flash.
Except OG Future Flash isn’t this Barry. Future Flash got his powers in 2020 while our Barry became the Flash in 2014.

No seriously do no one find it weird barry uses the speed force to fight and help recreate the universe if the anti-monitor was an unfortunate unexpected anomaly now the negative speed force practically brought season 1 on the same line with season 9 so here is my question is the negative speed force really that bad?
1 thing that is different is that in the original timeline, Barry vanishes 1 year earlier to witness Eobard killing Nora. I mean, just for Barry to go to 2000 is different compared but it was still a time loop on how everything was connected. The only thing that is different is that wasn't the 2024 Flash that vanishes.

@@vollendsez5810 Wait really? Is it 2024 in the show already?
It's very interesting seeing Barry talk to Thawne, face to face, knowing that he will go through the trauma that Thawne put him through, but he's already gone through it and a younger version of himself will go through all those events with the Reverse Flash. From the day that Barry's mother got killed by the Reverse Flash, to the day that Reverse Flash disguised himself as Harrison Wells to be a mentor for Barry, then Barry gradually learning that Thawne is using someone else's identity and that he's evil, to becoming full on enemies with Thawne. It all matches up, and the Barry that is talking with Eobard knows that this as all happened to him and will happen to a past version of him.
This episode has to be up there of the best episode in the whole of Flash, what a full circle moment filled with emotions, callbacks, and just a resolution for our Barry finally coming into terms of why this moment was meant to be, him thanking Thawne for giving that second chance to live and breathe with his parents again!
Also my theory of Malcolm is that, the Eddie from season 1 that shot himself to erase Eobard from existence, Eddie got sucked into the singularity and at some point in that singularity, he got reseted and sent to a new timeline/world where he is thinking everything is normal and living as Malcolm Gilmore. Remember in season 1 where Eobard kidnapped Eddie, Eobard mentioned Eddie was a throwaway in the Thawne family history, the one that was forgotten in the Thawne family. I just feel it has a link.

I wanna that Barry ends the conversation saying to Eobard: “I forgive you, Thawne, I forgive you” Could be awesome
Episode 13
YES, PLEASE
I can understand that. But that wouldn't really bother Thawne. He wants Barry to suffer, whether he hates Thawne for it or not. What Barry says here is, in fact, much MORE hurtful to Thawne (although that is not Barry's intention): Thawne has Barry's GRATITUDE, which means that all Thawne's scheming to make Barry's suffer has (and WILL) come to naught.
barry says that in season 2
i love the messaging of this scene. Sometimes we just need to move on, as jay said to barry "we are not gods, we are men, and have been given extraordinary abilities".
This episode was amazing. It’s funny that they didn’t bother changing the lightning colour or the CG model of Barry during the confrontation at the Allen house. I’m happy that the timeline wasn’t too fractured after Flashpoint. And that Season 1 Barry still got to console his mother and have a final chat with her, before she dies in his arms. 😢😢😢
Well, they did kind of change a few things. The suit was definitely a switch, because the OG Barry had the leather suit, but brighter red and with the white symbol. It's how Cisco got the idea to design the new suit.
“NEEOOOOOOOOOOWW” - eobard thawne
and
“RRWAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH” - red death
Atleast thawnes neeoooooow had emotional impact while red deaths was just her being angy
That Thawne lose forever through the series and the way he scream to times one in the origin and now he realization. Also that Barry said that he finally got a chance to see his parents one more time and hug was sad, heartwarming and the piece that he finally got it back also that he thanks for Thawne it's like Barry finally end his conflict and his past behind him once and for all however I did remember he say "but if you look back i did what I had to do nothing more nothing less" Dr Harrison Eobard Thawne Wells season 1.
just like eddie when he saw himself on a classified police file and thought that he was supposed to be alive but said that he wasnt alive but dead he forgived himself by asking the big important question by how he was still here. barrys conflict is just the beginning
I love how he thanked Eobard for this and said he would always be grateful 😂. Absolutely brilliant scene
Almost like Barry is forgiving Thawne. He greatly pities Thawne more than hating him
Without thawne, Barry will never be the flash, kinda full circle that both Barry and thawne need each other to survive

This also explains why Thawne gave Barry the idea to save his parents in season 1. Realistically all Barry needed to do was run back a week or even a day to do what Thawne needed. Little did he know Barry already planned for that.
1:51 The Nooooooo!!!!! was personal
It was indeed. He worked his brain off only to learn that he is destined to become Reverse-Flash, be a vilain (2x11) and stuck in a time loop where he will ultimately die (8x20). That's why he screamed. Because he couldn't cope with Barry's warnings and he NEVER expected him to forgive him.
I can’t believe they’re actually doing Malcmolm, super excited to see what the relation with Barry is gonna be this episode was great.
He’s gonna be Eddie and Malcom meaning I think there the same
I find it interestingly Coincidental and Ironic that Eobard Thawne/Reverse Flash whos from The 25th Century would end up stuck in our time and his Ancestor Eddie Thawne/Cobalt Blue whos from our time died in 2015 Mysteriously ended up in 2049. 😮
I think Eddie's Corpse was Stuck in the Singularity for 8 years and Once Eobard killed himself via Overloading himself with too much Negative Speed Force Energy, The Negative Speed Force panicked and Desperately needed another Avatar, they went into The Singularity and brought Eddie Thawne back and made him "Dr. Malcolm Gilmore" with no memories of ever been Detective Eddie Thawne and was Displaced in 2049
I bet Barry was transported 170 years from now to establish his presence in Thawnes life. Full circle 😅

0:49 Thawne: "I will find a way to destroy you and everyone you love!😡"

This is when you realize Barry has actually grown up. In S1, he was afraid of him and here, he was ready to kill him but then stopped since he knew the answer but couldn't do it at the time because he hated Thawne.

Indeed. Barry warned Eobard about this and now he is doomed to be erased from existence, returned, being vaporized by Black Flash, being killed by the Negative Still Force and ultimately, being destroyed from overloading his powers.
Matt's Acting as the Reverse Flash and Eobard Thawne have always been great.
This should’ve been the finale man
Missed opportunity, but it'd be cool if we got a Reverse Flash Spin-Off Mini Series. 8 episodes.
How he got his powers, him being a hero for a bit like his hero, The Flash & then Flash saving people & taking credit.
Looks like Oliver is not the only one who finally found his peace now Barry Allen have finally found his peace too
“I don’t understand…”
*IT WAS ME, THAWNE*
"I was the one who let you kill my mother!"
I love how this is a very early version of Reverse Flash against a VERY experienced Flash. Barry knows Thawne is nowhere near powerful enough to stop him at his current level.
Yeah at the same time this isn't the full blown psycho we see in season 8. This is young Eobard we see just after he offs Barry's mother. A broken man who believed his life's been destroyed. If I was to see my worst enemy more than 2 decades from the future I'd be a bit nervous. Barry has already seen these events played out. The only thing keeping the timeline going ironically is the fact that Thawne is hell bent on ruining Barry's life. If Barry successfully convinced Thawne to walk away and turn his life around it would alter the timeline to the point he probably wouldn't even exist lol...
Feels like Superman & Lois' people wrote, directed and filmed this episode - great cinematography! Finally good to get some peak flash content again (like last episode).
Didn't know barry from S9 the original flash all the time, he was replacing the original flash
my guess for the end is either he returns home in 2056 or somehow he ends up in 2221 and saves the crowd to complete the loop again and set Eobard on his path to become reverse flash. Like Dr Wells said, no past, no present, no future, just one infinite closed loop.
This was the perfect send off for Matt Letscher's Reverse Flash.
2 episodes in a row and they have been fire 🔥🔥🔥
I like how they wrapped everything up a concluded I love how they did it this is beautiful
can we just talk about the music? As soon as I heard this part at 2:36 I knew he was gonna get struck by lightning, because this is the same music from when Barry got struck by lightning.
I feel like barry disappearing like that should’ve been the finale
He just thanked his mom's killer😂
Thank you eobard for being a mass murder for my sake
because that’s the only way their conflict will end. he’s been dealing with this pain all his life, by forgiving thawne he will finally find peace
Becuz it doesn't change the fact that RF will always be an enemy to Flash and the fact that their conflicts will repeat. It's better to forgive and move on, something that Barry knows when seeing how Eobard can't even let go of his own obsessions.
One of the best episodes of The Flash, see how Barry has matured and the soundtrack, OMG!
Could this be Malcolm Thawne??? Malcom Thawne is here!
who is malcolm thawne and why did the allen parents abandon barrys twin eddie
@@svenrek7688 Malcolm Thawne is a Thawne, in the comics he was Barry’s twin but in the show it’s different
Nah he’s gonna be Eddie
@@superblue767 wait so that’s not Eddie? And does this take place 2000 or the future? I’m so confused
@@fuel902necessary5 it’s not Eddie, that was Malcom, now it’s unclear n unknown if this new character is the new avatar
ONE OF THE BEST EPISODES I HAVE EVER SEEN. FINALLY HAPPENED!! 9X9 and 9x10 become my favourites for sure
The episode was epic but the way thawne screamed💀 1:50
I actually felt that. Don't forget that this Thawne has still yet to experience everything we saw the last 9 years. Younger but still experienced. Not as much as the Reverse-Flash who died, but still.
1:50 Looks like Thawne is trapped in the original timeline.
In the original multiverse, he was stranded in the 21st Century as the aftermath of the Crisis on Infinite Earths, but here? It's worse for Thawne.
@@byonemesis Fun fact: Thawne made a reference to the Crisis in this scene by telling Barry that he'll tear the universe apart to kill him.
@@thefoeofdrip1184 Yes and another one : Negative Part Two.
thats why he stalked Dr Harrison Wells in the original timeline. just like barrys daughter nora did in the future by stalking Barry Allen in a futuristic timeline.
Cobolt Blue man y’all better get ready these last 3 episodes gone be lit !
If you think about it the whole show is really just a reverse flash point because thawne messed up the timeline when he killed barry’s mother annd made that a fixed point
Future Barry was not originally S9 Barry. The timeline just changed again. The original Barry was completely different from our Barry.
Yeah because in season1 the original timeline Barry was vibnrating while seasdon 9 Barry wasn't in plus in season 1 both Barry and Tahwn came out from a particle when the went to the house while in season 9 they were already in the year 2000 and they just went to the house.
I really don’t understand why this couldn’t just be Eddie. They’ve strayed from the comics so many times before. It wouldn’t have made a difference here. All it shows for me is that they’re not willing to make Eddie a villain even though that actually would have been a fascinating plot.
Maybe because He was a real Hero without powers 😢
Look at it from this perspective.
Eddie in any other story would have become the villain. Been revealed to be two faced in his personality. If Iris left him for Barry, he'd go nuclear.
Instead Eddie Thawne was a good man despite everything thrown at him. He was the guy quick to forgive Barry for the Iris kiss and the guy who quickly believed in the Flash after thinking he was a threat.
To turn him into villain (something we've seen allies on this show do), dishonors the character. It's easy to corrupt a character. Harder to keep them good.
Because Eddie's dead
Seriously this is the best moment to not follow the comics and they made the wrong choice , I still hope it is Eddie
Maybe it is. Remember Eddie’s body got sucked into the wormhole at the end of the season 1 finale. Maybe this is him. Since he doesn’t remember the negative speedforce will make him remember.
That’s just what I think.
To be honest. THIS should have been the finale.
May 19, 2015: Season 1, Ep 23 - 2023-24 Barry arrives and saves himself, while also telling his 2015 self not to interfere.
May 3, 2023 - The cycle has been completed.
What about Flashpoint Flash, when he saved his mom, shouldn’t he have been there too. I was confused when he didn’t appear
@NoT_Hawk, well, that timeline got erased when barry and thawn went back to correct it so that barry wouldn't have shown up since it technically never happened, but to our barry it happened but then got corrected.
@@Living_Soul54 wait but no cuz like what happened was that after flashpoint barry beats up thawne and locks him up then barry comes back with thawne and lets him kill her but technically him coming back with thawne to let him kill her still happened and so did him beating RF right before flashpoint,(that make sense, its really complicated ik lol)
@NoT_Hawk ik, it's really complicated, and there are gonna be plotholes, probably, but yeah I'd say the timeline itself no longer as once barry that created flashpoint started to punch and beat up reverse flash stopping him that already altered the timeline so those events are included in the erasure of flashpoing leaving our barry in a post flashpoint timeline, at the time at least.
@@Living_Soul54 could u imagine after barry takes him back to kill mother right, and then our season 9 barry appeared again right and right before they started talking RF said "MAKE UP YOUR MIND" LOL
I started watching the flash when I was in 6th grade. Senior now. Oh how time has gone by. Brings back so many memories, from the show and things in my life that were happening during those times. It’s gona hurt saying goodbye but the flash is always gona be a part of my teen years.
1:09 its finally nice to see how Barry has grown since the beginning
I said it back then, I'll say it again : I was right to still watch the show! Totally worth it! I will watch The Flash to the very LAST second!
Also this : 1:50. You can feel Eobard being trapped in a stranded time, unable to go back and unable to cope with Barry's claims...
but with what barry said to thwane a speedster doesnt mean his trapped he can still figure out how to master time travel with different people to help like the new avatar who can control the speed force
One good episode doesn’t mean the show suddenly isn’t shit anymore
@@ninjafrog6966 Well, I never considered this being crap to being with. But yes, I heard most people were disappointed in how it went. I got my moments of being less excited but I never missed any episode of The Flash.
Nah you're completely wrong the only right thing was to skip the show and wait for an actual good episode.
@@usonlyus7148 Well, fair enough for you!😁
So does Barry somehow travel back to the original multiverse? It’s the only thing that makes sense for this to come “full circle”
Should’ve been the finale tbh
ehh this still works. barry gets the happy ending but we still get the full circle moment. i was expecting eric wallace to ignore it due to his track record
Agreed, but I do hope this is the the timeline being somehow rewritten and somehow they will return to it in the very end
The show finally written well
this is the best episode of the whole show, after 9 long years we got to see what happened in this 24 hours
Ngl this episode brought out da emotions fr like I cried when Barry went to talk to Joe and when he called Martin. Especially when he met his parents but when Eddie got hit with that bolt... I gotta theory fr the lightning that hit Barry was the negative speed force
*that hit Eddie* fk autocorrect
Barry tried to forgive him like comics, crazy.
Man now we know what truly happened that night 9 years man....
Then waits 15 long years to give barry speed and thats the loop over and over again. This episode coming full circle was a dream come true. Now we know what really happened that night. Some minor changes like it was January when his mom but instead it said march or may i forgot and the fight they didnt change the suit when they came in the house but who cares those are nitpicks. This is one of if not the best episode of the series
Also they were chasing each other through the speed force when they both entered 2000 running straight to the house from the speed force, whereas here they spent the day together and had a conversation in 2020 before going to the house.
@@nyrplayer true but aye at least they did it and it did make sense plus there were too many changed in the show 1. Barry's mom was never supposed to die and this night should've never happened so the whole show is an alternate timeline 2. Then Flashpoint 3. Then crisis so it's not like those things wouldn't of changed anything so I can let those things slide
My theory is that this is Eddie thawne but it’s Eddie that’s suffering from some type of memory loss and when he “died” in the portal it sucked him into “a new world” and I feel like the negative speed force is going to remind him who he is but kinda twist the story of what happened in season 1 making eddie hate and think that Barry stole his life and stuff but once he realizes the truth and that he sacrificed him self he will prob sacrifice him self again to defeat RF, Zoom and the rest of the speedsters kind of honouring the character of Eddie and his first death back in season one. Kinda making it a full circle moment for Eddie.
if you rewatch the start of the episode his name tag says malcolm gilbert, so he's not eddie thawne
I love how they used part of the scientist theme into this scene. When Malcom goes to look out the window
