That exact same thing just happened to someone i know. The other driver admitted to my friend that they were at fault. Then later the story changed completely of the location & whose fault it was. You think it won't happen to you, but you never know what's going to occur when you leave your home each day.
Where I’m from, I have to speed 95% of the time in order not to get into an accident since the speed limits are ridiculously low. All other cars on the road go at least 20+ mph over the speed limit. Today everyone driving around me was going 25-30 mph over the speed limit. Speeding tickets are just the necessary price it costs to stay safe. It’s rare that I ever see an officer on the road that doesn’t have someone pulled over. I’m fighting a speeding ticket myself in court next week. You’re better off investing in radar detectors and LiDAR jammers than a dash cam here to combat the pigs who just want to fuck you over. All a dash cam will do is incriminate you. In some states radar scramblers are legal as well so I’d recommend getting one if you can. If you can’t afford any of that, then at the very least you have to use Waze as I have learned because it seems to show where the cops are most of the time.
I literally purchased 2 mins before watching this video. Called Amazon after and got your promo code applied to the order. THANKS!! Saved me $30. (Instant Sub)
Excellent review, thank you sir! I passed this camera over several times until I saw this review. Now, its going to be a fathers day gift to myself. The promo code is awesome, knocks off exactly $30 from the $199 price. Thank you!!

I have been using the Vantrue N2 for a couple years now. My only complaint is the suction cup. After one summer it stops working. Where I live we have many days of 100 to 107 degrees Fahrenheit. The suction cup just quits. There is a new holder that uses double-sided tape. Which is holding on just great but does not have the built-in GPS. Bought mine off of Amazon and with in half a year the battery went out and the camera turns off and on between 20- 30 minutes. I live in LA County. Guess the summer heat got to it.
If heat is an issue you might want to get a camera that uses a capacitor instead of an internal battery. The Viofo A129 is a good bet if you're looking for something that has dual 1080p cameras.
Thank you, I bought the camera at full price and was looking at videos to teach me how to use it, cancelled it and reordered it with the discount code!

I just recieved my brand new N2 Pro yesterday and installed the latest firmware from the Vantrue website. The new firmware allows the user to change the exposure setting on both inside and outside camera SEPARATELY. Looks like this will fix the over exposure problem on the internal camera in bright sunlight. New firmware also allows for 256g SD.

Does this camera connect to a phone app? I don't get how this can be a good camera if it doesn't have any type of back up / mobile features. My assumption is that anyone can just break into your car and steal the camera and how would you get the footage of that if the SD card is inside the camera???

Jeff J. Caron Just a heads up: In my experience, this camera will not be able to record the licence plate clearly when the opponent’s car is driving too fast if you set the camera to record both indoors and outdoors.

I almost bought one of these but didn't like that it didn't have a true rear-bumper full-view rear cam, mountable at bumper or inside back window on my Mazda3 sedan. Thanks for Detailed Review. For parking mode, can I connect this unit to portable battery ? Will it be safe (both battery and camera) during hot summer days if parked outdoors ?

Got one Amazon Prime Day. Decent price. I keep both front/rear in 1080p mode. Even though the rear is meant for interior view, in my truck it provides a view out the back which can catch a rear end issue. No it won't read license plate # clearly, but it provides some evidence I would not otherwise have. Won't catch a pure t-bone. So far very happy.
I'm using two one in my truck and one in my wife's Mazda CX-5. They are both in the rear (personal preference), but her Mazda rear outlet its on constant. I'm always weary of battery drain. I guess is the same as if its hardwired in as far as battery drain.
If you generally only need the front camera, however you want to switch to the interior camera for example if you get pulled over and want to record the encounter, can you easily switch to the interior camera with out have to scroll through numerous options?
You would have to stop recording. Push menu, hit resolution, select both cameras, hit menu and start recording. So simple answer, no really easy way without going into the menu however if you know the camera, this sequence could be done in less than 20 sec. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the review. A buddy at work went through years of torment from a jackass who sued him due to an accident, who then settled with my buddys insurance days before the court date.
I have this dash-cam for 14 months. It's pretty good. Although, mine started rebooting on its own during my drives for some reason -- it's random though.
this is usually due to the failure of SD card; happens a lot on dash cams because of constant loop/ re-write of footages. Many dash cam companies suggest users to format their SD cards monthly. Under normal usage, an SD card would only last about a year if used on dash cams
Did I miss the part where you showed attaching the usb cable to the mount and how you ran it through the car to the cigarette lighter? "You suck it to the window and you turn the clamp and the USB cable that is plugged into your 12v is connected to the suction mount"...huh?!
My preference is dash cams mounted over rear view mirror. Once upon a time I drove for Lyft and learned from Facebook forums about dash cams. My first purchase was Falcon 360. Loved this all in one cam capturing the inside of vehicle and front of vehicle. Next purchase was the VanTop. I like the cam except there is a blueish tint on the mirror minus capturing inside of vehicle (no longer drive Lyft). Now I’m looking for another dashcam but in some states it’s considered obstruction of view to mount on windshield as this model. Why aren’t dash-cams built into vehicles? And I hate the wires.
Is there a specific advantage to a dash cam that mounts over the rear view mirror or is it just preference? I'm worried about some random catastrophic failure making it so I can't see traffic behind me...
@@angryshadeofpink some states view anything stuck on a windshield or hanging from a rear view mirror as a violation of obstruction of view with a possible fine.
That would have been interesting seeing what kind of shot you would get by using this camera as a rear dash cam. Does it show better what could happen on the blind spot with the secondary camera shooting inside the car ? I would really like to know ! Combine with a normal front dash cam that could be very interesting.
Good morning, I've been using this camera since last September but unfortunately I just discovered that it's not recording all the time. I don't experience it going off since I'm focused on the road, but I do notice it making a beeping sound, which is the sound it makes when it starts to record. Moreso, I checked the files on my computer and discovered that the recording was random. Majority of the road incidents I want captured was not captured. Makes it looks like it captures what it feels like. How can this be resolved please? Thank you.
Great video ! Do you happen to have another video showing anything about the wiring on this one ? I am in the market for a dash cam with 2 features mainly - good video quality and one which can record audio .. a little worried about wires dangling from the camera
You can just run them along the top of the windshield, tucking them in and then down under the glove. I’d. I put the wire under the floor mat and then up to the 12v plug. Sorry don’t have a video showing that.
@@EverydayReviews2022 thx. when u say run them along, do you tape them or ? how does it stay in place ? and does the 10 ft wire come by default or you have to buy an additional kit ? TIA !
INSTEAD of having to remove either the camera from its shoe or the memory card (which is tedious), is there a way to download what I want of a specific event with my iPhone immediately after an event? Thanks
Great review. I use to have a dash cam dual and i had to change this 3 times. What happens is that when it is a hot day the camera gets very hot and freezes and takes a while to work again. My question is. Does this camera also freeze or it can stay in the car without any problems? Please help
It actually simple to set up as you explained it….but, mine is not working with or without SD card….what am I doing wrong or are specific SD card for this product
Sorry. New to shopping for a dash cam. When you say "snapshot" I usually refers to a still picture. I'm guessing, in this case, "snapshot" refers to saving a segment of footage. How many seconds before pushing the button of footage is saved? Most of the cameras I've read it's 10 seconds before. I really like that camera.😀
Someone please set me straight on Parking Mode. I have mine hardwired to an always hot circuit, I have Parking Mode enabled on the camera. Yesterday, when my car was parked in my driveway all afternoon I was certain that I had Parking Mode enable but it recorded 4 straight hours of looped video. Today I left the car parked and went grocery shopping, I confirmed that I had enabled parking mode and it started recording immediately. I can't figure this thing out! Any thoughts or advice is much appreciated.
I wanted this, but not being able to see out of the back window is a real deal breaker. Where I live, people will ride you no matter how fast you're going, and getting rear-ended is a constant thing; so being able to see them from behind would have been nice. Thanks for the review, though.
This is a great camera for the price, video quality is awesome and the audio is pretty good too.got it with a 128gb so i don't have to worry about storage
I actually don’t have it anymore. I gave it to a family member and I got a 3 channel camera. I didn’t have the gps module which is why the speed reads zero.
I had a cam similar to this front and back cam had it two weeks and the heat coming through the windshield knocked it out do the home work get one that can handle the heat
Great video! I tend to leave it on parking mode too and my disk fills really fast. It's like it's not continually looping and overwriting the disk like I want it to. Am I missing a setting? At the moment I just be sure to format it to erase everything and start fresh if I'm going out.
I've had this cam for the last two years. I loved it at first but I've been in three accidents and it missed all three. The first two I was convinced that it was just user error, but with this last one I'm over it. I pushed the P button, but in my files I only have the moments right before. If you have any idea what I'm dong wrong, I'm welcoming all suggestions.
I just want mirror csm that dual lens one forward one for interrior that seems to be impossible 2nd this they dont record long enough my truck driving shifts are 12 hours most I found with 1080p 6 to 7
And no mention whether or not you can turn off the audio and leave just the video on. And you know what would really be cool, is if the unit, while in motion sensor mode, texts you a screen shot, or just a notification that the motion detector has been triggered, you'd be able to see your car is being broken into in real time.
I had one for two years and honestly it is unpredictable. 2 years into having one I am looking for a new one. It did not record two important events for me even though I hit the P to save it.
Was looking to do a review of this camera, checking out the reviews online already. Nice work! I have a pro version of another camera that is less expensive, that is quite comparable to the Vantrue N2 Pro. I may Do a comparison. My main concern is that this camera is overpriced by 50$ based on its features an options. By not allowing the full pixel range front and back. This camera is no different than other brands.
Hi! Great review, helped me to decide. I tried it on a few runs and my speed indicates 0, no values. I wanted to check back on yours and it's the same: any clues? GPS is Active by tbe menu for sure. Thanks!
Ok i am answering to myself and FYI then: to get the GPS function, you need the GPS receiver mount which is optional. I had not seen that at the moment of purchase as my previous dashcams, low-end and high-end devices, all haf an embedded GPS module. Cheers!
What is not in the box is a phone number to call them if you have a problem ! I wonder why they do not have a phone number to contact them most real companys have a 800 number but this company has no phone number listed to contact them .... Sad at best !
I got in a nasty rear end accident by a drunk driver and the camera flew from the windshield and got disconnected and the video got issue and it didn’t allow me to open it. Other than that it’s really good quality pictures
There should be a wire harness set-up to hack into the on-board cameras that are on the mirrors and front and rear, add a video drive to record all around the car as well as when parked. Why isn’t something like that invented? My idea!
The one I use has a zoom on the rear facing camera. Don't really want to just see the inside of the car. I want to see right through the rear window. That's the most important feature - a rear collision is the most common, after all.
This should be factory in our cars in America now days....
I agree. Been saying this for years. Most cars even have cameras already for advanced driving aids. Probably some privacy thing or something.
Only if the police cant get to them or tamper with it

I like that it doesn’t clover your View when you driving someone swipe hit me on the passenger side and I couldn’t get to the person because traffic was heavy and I had my autistic son with me so I had to let it go the person knew she hit me and left the seen I really need one thank you for sharing 😊
I just got mine yesterday and so far so good. just gotta figure out the wire situation in my car.
Thanks for Detailed Review. For parking mode, can I connect this unit to portable battery ? Will it be safe (both battery and camera) during hot summer days if parked outdoors ?
You drove next to my house in this video LOL
The manual says needs to buy GPS mount separately - why they don’t put it on the original camera mount??!!
Maybe to keep the cost down is my guess. I’ll be testing a few other dash cams that do have GPS built in but they only have one camera.
I have had mine for over a year. I also have the GPS mount. No issues yet. When it is extremely hot or cold it comes in the house. I like mine. 🖒
HELLO CAN YOU LET ME KNOW WHICH GPS VIDEO PLAYER DO YOU USE TO WATCH YOUR VIDEO CLIPS? MANY THANKS
I'll wait for the Vantrue N3 Pro (worked out kinks).
Did you pick up the new N4? It seems like a nice improvement
Great demo, very professional, well done!
Great review sir, wanted to order but I think the US coupon code has expired :(. Thanks
Video was very informative and well put together. Nice job!
@@EverydayReviews2022 Understood thanks!
Excellent. So the cam does record showing inside the car in color right ?
Yes.
Did I miss the part where you showed attaching the usb cable to the mount and how you ran it through the car to the cigarette lighter? "You suck it to the window and you turn the clamp and the USB cable that is plugged into your 12v is connected to the suction mount"...huh?!
Can you protect the 3 minute clips? Or just a single image?
You can protect video events either by hitting the button or it’ll do it by itself in the event of an accident.
Akaso Trace 1 has dual cam plus night vision for half the price.
Sounds interesting. Will check this out! Thanks
www.akaso.net/trace1
I'm glad I read the comments; looks like a great dashcsm!
Very helpful and useful. Thank you so much!
I don't need a dashcam, I need a rear cam that records in case I get rear-ended. Any good ones out there?
How would it get power from the rear to operate it?
Good morning, I've been using this camera since last September but unfortunately I just discovered that it's not recording all the time. I don't experience it going off since I'm focused on the road, but I do notice it making a beeping sound, which is the sound it makes when it starts to record. Moreso, I checked the files on my computer and discovered that the recording was random. Majority of the road incidents I want captured was not captured. Makes it looks like it captures what it feels like. How can this be resolved please? Thank you.
Have you tried a different SD card?
Amazing review, I'm looking for a dash cam with front and rear camera and good night video quality and night vision feature. Any suggestions?
Try the Vantrue N4. The discount code might still work on the site.
@@EverydayReviews2022 Thank you
Great video !
Please help
I haven’t had any problem with it freezing but it might depend on where you live and how hot it is.
I live in london. So no that hot
What are you talking about? There are many dual dashcams that are 4k/1080.... BlackVue alone has a range of them.
They claim they were the first one. Perhaps the others came after.
never seen a Blackvue dual cam in one single unit? i thought Blackvue links front and rear cameras via a wire?
Can you show me a link of one of those many dual cameras out there?
I wish I could help Christopher but mine isn’t hard wired so I’ve never used the parking mode. Have you tried contacting Vantrue?
I wanted this, but not being able to see out of the back window is a real deal breaker. Where I live, people will ride you no matter how fast you're going, and getting rear-ended is a constant thing; so being able to see them from behind would have been nice. Thanks for the review, though.
You could just get one for the back window and one for the front. That's what I did
This is a great camera for the price, video quality is awesome and the audio is pretty good too.got it with a 128gb so i don't have to worry about storage
How well does it pick up license plates? From your video it looks like they are all over exposed.
So do you still like it and still recommend it? Also, did you turn the speed indicator off?
I actually don’t have it anymore. I gave it to a family member and I got a 3 channel camera. I didn’t have the gps module which is why the speed reads zero.
I had a cam similar to this front and back cam had it two weeks and the heat coming through the windshield knocked it out do the home work get one that can handle the heat
Great video! I tend to leave it on parking mode too and my disk fills really fast. It's like it's not continually looping and overwriting the disk like I want it to. Am I missing a setting? At the moment I just be sure to format it to erase everything and start fresh if I'm going out.
Thank you for review! Could you please advice if in parking mode the recording is made on both cameras?
I noticed your mph doesn't register I just bought one and was thinking it would. Darn.
You need the GPS module. It’s really cheap if you order one.
I did order 2 for both vehicles but ok run my power cord through the gps module for mph. Great thanks and great video. @@EverydayReviews2022
Yes you can turn off the audio and have just video. Sorry I thought I mentioned that in the rundown of the buttons. There is a mute button
I had one for two years and honestly it is unpredictable. 2 years into having one I am looking for a new one. It did not record two important events for me even though I hit the P to save it.
Can you point the camera towards the driver's side door to capture interactions with the police??
Yes you Dan. The camera is on a ball joint and can tilt and swivel any direction you want.
Cheers!
The P button takes pictures how to manually clip certain events if the censor doesn’t do it?
Sir did you upgrade and get another one by now cuz this was 3 years ago?? I'm debating on getting the same one in this video.
Im using the Vantrue X4S now.
Men I subscribe right away to your channel you are a pro giving the details and al my question were answered tank you so much and have a nice day sir
Other than that it’s really good quality pictures
is there a microphone that records the conversation inside of a car . if you get stopped by police etc
yes
There should be a wire harness set-up to hack into the on-board cameras that are on the mirrors and front and rear, add a video drive to record all around the car as well as when parked. Why isn’t something like that invented? My idea!
great review!
The one I use has a zoom on the rear facing camera. Don't really want to just see the inside of the car. I want to see right through the rear window. That's the most important feature - a rear collision is the most common, after all.
Interior recording is handy for Uber drivers etc. I’m using a dual ext/int Rexing and it just recently recorded someone rear ending our car.
How hard was it to hard wire? Do you have a video? Had one on my wish list and Santa brought me one.
