Ill counter that point regarding cosigners. When i got my first apartment after graduation at 23 i was required to get a cosigner. The property manager would not rent to me unless i had a cosigner. 780 credit, good income, solid references and still needed a cosigner. It's not always a bad sign. I got my dad off my lease shortly after moving in.

I knew those people were bad news. Can you choose to not rent to people who have their parents cosigning or is that illegal? This seems like a common problem. I think the guy with the storage unit had a similar situation.

I sure am sorry to hear that you are having yet another person who doesn't give "two-shakes-of-a-ratsa$$ " about what their actions, or in-actions, may cause and cost you and their own mother! Inexcusable behavior , in my mind! I worked for an apartment complex and we only took payment through the app. And we had it set up so no one can come into the office for safety reasons.
Short story. There was a instance where the tenants two kids plugged up the drains in the bathrooms in the fitness room caused a big flood( fob system to get into the fitness room, traceable,and has cameras). She and herctwo sons had to move out. She said she wasn't going to pay or give her new address. But we still have her social security number and all the information from the person who co- signed for her. We just let the attorney handle this at this point, goes to collections , makes it hard to rent anywhere ( shows up on credit check and rental Verification), andcwe also go after the co- signer. Well wt the end of the day she wrecked her friendship and both parties credit. These folks doing all the messy things like this when they are renting a home are just hurting themselves.
Uh For sure, I will never ever rent anybody again nope but it took me almost 100 years of being alive to understand that people are just plain problematic and awful and irresponsible and strange and disgusting. Only half of them are so it’s hard to tell, but now I reject them all because I can’t tell the difference. I’ll never do that again. I can’t see how you can stand it. I can’t see how I ever stood it. I have had more tenants move out and leave tons of junk in the last two years than ever before. They just leave a HUGE mess.

You can deny for credit. You do not have to accept a cosigner

Technically their 90s days is not up but they told us they were moving before then. They can stay this month if they paid rent but they did not
