Do you mean he doesn't have any ability Roxas learns in KH2 in KH1? Or what do you mean? Because I got EXP Boost and Item Boost through levelling Roxas up (Rod path) and Sora retained those abilities when I got control of him. If you care champ, a little insight into why the Peter Pan strat works. Basically every time you hit a boss it adds a point to the boss’s “revenge value.” When it maxes out they counter attack. However pan hits so fast in conjunction with the aerial hits that they get stunlocked. The exceptions to this are bosses that have fast counter attacks or fixed phase changes (like vexen: he will always go into his super move at a certain HP barrier unless you do a specific setup I can’t be fucked to figure out). Side note, as an extra cheese strat, most humanoid bosses can be stunlocked to death with final form firaga, BUT you have to space yourself so the key blades are the last thing that hit em. The more you know
This was tight as hell. My insistence on finishing/Platinuming my games in as little playthroughs as possible means my 100% run was also in Critical Mode. But good god the idea of doing all of that at Level 1 sounds terrifying! Massive props to you slugging through this, totally hype as hell 👌

I remember as a kid when I got to sephiroth I spent like 8 hours trying to beat him. I literally got to the point where my mind just shut off and I was able to beat him. I screamed in victory waking up my parents ( it was 3 am at this point). I was yelled at but the victory against him was worth it.
As a kid on the og Western release of the game, I never beat Sephiroth. As an adult, I streamed my attempts on 2.5's Proud instead of Critical and ended up shamefully looking up a guide, but he was the only boss or superboss I looked up a guide on, including Lingering Will, though I did level up to 99 before taking on Data Org and LW. I spent 3 hours on LW at max before realizing some patterns, how to block and counterattack aggressively or when to run or reflect. Second day of trying and I suddenly pull it off and I was absolutely floored by how satisfying it was. Sephiroth and Lingering Will. Data XIII. That kind of satisfaction comes from way more than just narrative in a game, and that's one of the coolest things about challenging, rewarding games.
Oh hey! I remember this run. Was fun to watch live, and will be fun to see the finished product! Might add a reply to this with any random info through the run I think is interesting to add
Comment time! So, first fun thing is with the Roxas AP at the start. If you grind enough money the game actually plays a cutscenesl that basically just says "you have way too much money stop" and forced you to move on. Still gives you the AP which is cool. 2nd I wanted to address is mickey. Mickey is actually able to be sorta manipulated when you learn how he spawns. The first time you get Mickey (like first time in save, not just fight) he is 100% guaranteed to show up. After that chance goes to 80%/60%/40%/20% as you use him more and stays at 20%. We abuse that in Speedruns to kill Cerberus real fast. Antiform is too complicated for a comment, but I got some fun things I can say. Each new form you obtain resets all points to 0, each time you use anti you lose 5 points off the counter, and final drops you by 10. You also can't get anti when sora is alone, a party member is dead (such as using limit when Donald is dead), or when there is forced party members with you, and you don't gain points at all when you use the form with someone like Hercules in the party. Last but not least, just one of the more interesting is how the score in cups works. It's not about group kills, it's literally just every 2 kills gives makes other kills drops more. So 0/1 on the combo does nothing, but 2 increases it. 3 doesn't drop any more, but 4 does. So if you actually pick off just a few heartless at a time and then group kill the last like 3/4 in a wave you get significantly more score than just magnet thunder all of them at once. "double score mode" is also on a global timer. It is based on how many kills you get in all cups and why it feels "random". Both of those are also heavily abused in 100% runs to cut out as much grinding as needed for the score requirements! So much more fun stuff in this game and If anyone else wants more explanation of mechanics feel free to ask!!
@@zoim2012 how about revenge value? I know *some* things about it but I have a feeling not many others here do since I believe it wasn't mentioned at all in the run
@@gamerkingmayathe064th5 revenge value is kinda hard to explain well in a UA-cam comment but I'll do my best. In short, it's a hidden value used by bosses to know when to retaliate. Each attack you can do also has an assigned amount of RV it gives. So (these aren't the actual numbers but it works for the example), say a boss has a value of 10 for revenge value. With Sora's base combo you add 1 point for each normal hit and 3 with his finisher. So in 2 combos the boss reachest 10 RV. When 10 is hit, they will automatically retaliate and the counter is reset. Some attacks do add a lot more than others, like I'm fairly certain explosion adds 10 or something insane like that. Honestly, the indepth details of how it works is not needed for anybody who doesn't Speedrun but I hope this at least sorta helps. And of course, any other questions about this game please feel free to ask!
there is a VERY subtle cheese you can do against some bosses (i did it on Lingering Will) thats a variation of the infinite combos you mentioned, and im shocked it wasn't in the video GC. equip fenrir and make sure that you don't have any combo pluses equipped so that you only use a finishing move in a combo and nothing else. then, remove any unique air finishing moves. this will make you do the default air slam finisher. enter the Lingering Will fight and dodge his first attack, then jump and attack him at a consistent rhythm. he will be stunlocked until either you mess up the timing or he dies, no summoning or duck flare required. he won't even enter the other phases. it's VERY funny to pull off.
Loved it. No mention of revenge counters. No speedrunning starts like Ultimate form fire attacks without the finisher, instead the BLENDER did its job admirably. No usage of chicken little to stunlock enemies much like magnet. No usage of beserk mode to kill Xigbar. Honestly you did it with half the tools and some new ones I've never seen. And no dash cheesing on Roxas! Amazing!
Have you any idea how advanced and hard some of these are? The berserk charge strat is super hard because you have a 3 frame window to perform a horizontal slash.
I mean those really do help alot too not sure why u feel the need to dismiss them plus she even admitted to using magnet and limits constantly as well as specific strats to beat the bosses so is it any different really? Just feels like a jab at speedruns for doing what she is with extra steps

The Trinity limit doesn't actually do any damage until the finishers of the move, but this finishers damage is increased with each hit done before the finisher. By this logic you can use trinity limit on Demnyx's water clones and then use the finisher on him and completely Shred his health.
It actually only applies the hits to the targets that got hit during the moves leading up to the finisher though, I think Since none of the water clones are actually Demyx, we'd do a grand total of nothing to him once the clones evaporate, if we can even get the moves out fast enough before the timer hits zero

thank you for showing that this challenge is possible w/o people having to do the best strats for each individual fight or boss. Having done all of this game's bosses at no dmg I can guarantee the lv 1 run is no joke and way too many people force themselves to do those strats thinking there is no other way to beat the game even if they can't perform all those button imputs. The mushrooms actually were impossible up until the ps4 release of kh2fm due to 60 fps making mushrooms doable with the 12 per second imputs
Fun fact: you can 100% KH2, besides the Roxas Tutorial, without dealing any Melee damage. Rule: after Roxas, you can’t deal any HP damage using the physical form of the Keyblade. Coating it in energy or throwing it counts, projectiles don’t. I let myself use the stat boosting items, since story bosses could be cheesed without them, and post game bosses could still be 8+ minute battles without too much extra efficiency from damage buffs.
@@IamaPERSON Some of the late game bosses were trickier. Like Data Xaldin, since Sora uses his Keyblade to break the wind guard. Or Data Axel, whose Reaction to remove the Fire Floor requires melee. For the Data Axel fight, I had to drop him to 1 HP for the rule’s loophole. Can’t deal damage if he takes none. Data Xaldin was a bunch of Duckflares.
@@Xaero13 But if you don’t know the language doesn’t that kinda defeat the point? Regardless it worked out anyways since if it was the english version the run would’ve likely turned into duck flare spam since it’s unnerfed in that version due to a bug.
@@Thisisthegreatestatofalltime Even if you don't know the language, eventually you would learn that "these symbols mean this thing" and "those symbols mean that thing". I'm a way, it helps to learn the language, even if it's just a little bit.
@@Xaero13 Yea, it works in that context I suppose. Speaking of which that reminds me of a game called Rain World which had various symbols that are supposed to represent the written language of an ancient extinct civilization and if you pay close attention during your time with the game you can learn what many of those symbols mean without the game spoon feeding it to you. Much of the game including its language was inspired by the experience of the lead dev and his experience in South Korea. I don’t remember the exact specifics but I believe it was something along the lines of when he first moved there he didn’t understand much of the language or culture which heavily inspired the vibe of the game including its language which was itself influenced by the Korean language. Albeit you don’t need to know what those symbols represent to play the game normally, it’s mainly just a cool detail.

The theme song was SO worth the trouble getting. It binds the episode together in a nice, little bow that you can use to make your enemies bad at video games.
57:15 This is actually so true, and I said the same thing before you did. I had better luck closing my eyes, because if you try to time it, you fail it every time. It changes faster than average human reaction time, but at least if you don't see it, it's a true 50/50 chance, and you can't sabotage yourself.
One other extremely helpful cheese strat for Data Demyx: If you have two elixirs/megalixirs available for his 99-clone Dance Water Dance, you can use Flare Force, immediately go into the finisher, use an elixir, then do the exact same thing again to clear the entire wave basically for free (note: works significantly better if you have Demyx up against a wall) Edit: Also, you can actually use the Wild Dance reaction command vs Data Demyx, but only if you hit the water clones with Blizzard. It's useful for clearing out the smaller waves without spending tons of mana and drive on Wisdom Fire and limits.
I love that even after all these year and patreon names that is probably longer than someone PhD thesis, she still choose to read all of them. Nice video as always!
I'm not sure if you knew this but the door to the past in disney castle/timeless river resets your drive gauge as well. So in Timeless River you can easily farm 3 out of 5 of the forms by going through the door over and over.
10:50 just use Chicken Little. He brings enemies to him, and his effect has bigger range than Magnega, and can effect enemies immune to Magnet (which you don't even have yet), including the hot rods.

It'd be like asking why there's a narrator in a film or why there's the scene with the grandpa in The Princess Bride, it's the framing device to help tell a story.

@@bimothybonetwig6059 as a kid it was the best feeling
That requires Sora to learn Negative Combo via levelup
@@Gamechamp3000 curses, foiled again
Loved it. No mention of revenge counters. No speedrunning starts like Ultimate form fire attacks without the finisher, instead the BLENDER did its job admirably. The Trinity limit doesn't actually do any damage until the finishers of the move, but this finishers damage is increased with each hit done before the finisher. By this logic you can use trinity limit on Demnyx's water clones and then use the finisher on him and completely Shred his health.
It actually only applies the hits to the targets that got hit during the moves leading up to the finisher though, I think

thank you for showing that this challenge is possible w/o people having to do the best strats for each individual fight or boss.
Huh, neat
@@IamaPERSON Some of the late game bosses were trickier. Like Data Xaldin, since Sora uses his Keyblade to break the wind guard. Or Data Axel, whose Reaction to remove the Fire Floor requires melee.

18:57 This would be a good idea, but the sneaky villains over at Square Enix made it so you can't open the camp menu in between battles
One other extremely helpful cheese strat for Data Demyx: If you have two elixirs/megalixirs available for his 99-clone Dance Water Dance, you can use Flare Force, immediately go into the finisher, use an elixir, then do the exact same thing again to clear the entire wave basically for free (note: works significantly better if you have Demyx up against a wall)
Edit: Also, you can actually use the Wild Dance reaction command vs Data Demyx, but only if you hit the water clones with Blizzard.
But that would require using Chicken Little
@@Superflaming85 who sucks and is bad
No
@@Superflaming85
The issue being...? No, legit, I don't recall her explaining the Chicken Little hate.
@@TheBanishedWind It's _Chicken Little._ I don't understand how an explanation is needed.
this is one of the videos that every time I see it in my recommended I want watch it great video
I've done this myself... for the most part. I didn't bother getting 100% in the Journal but I did all the superbosses. Sephiroth was the most fun fight in the whole run.
Honestly Roxas is probably the hardest fight in the main game.. took me forever on critical till I fully leveled drive forms
@@SchnookieC I don't know what that is
I love how you pronounced almost every organization name wrong 😂
I mean fair cuz the pronunciation of "x" keeps changing in this game.
@@Homoronavirus”x” when pronounced as “ks” is the most redundant letter besides “q”. I prefer the “sh” pronunciation because it just makes sense (look at Chinese written in English letters for example).
except Marluxia, Xaldin, Xemnas, Xigbar and Demyx
@@rakashaw Roxas.
Also gamechamp kept saying it as "Marloosh", not Marluxia. You also left out Axel. @@rakashaw
having completed this run before, i can say that all your strats are dumb and i love every one of them.
watching you struggle with the simplest things was hilarious but you got to the end and that's as good as any of us can hope for. good work!
What about the cleanest things?
Absoultly amazing! I never even played KH, but you make this challenges so gosh darn entertaining, I loved watching this!
Thank you, Gamechamp :)
Gamechamp, I just want to say that I’m so thankful for your kingdom hearts videos. Your original level 1 video is what got me hooked on the series in the first place, and got me to play through all the games. I’ve since started trying to do level 1 runs in each game, relying heavily on your guide for KH1. I’m nearing the end of my KH2 completion, with pretty much the cups, mushrooms, and synthesis grinding to do. It’s been a lot harder without a guide from you, but I’m glad this video is finally out.
Also, I HAVE TO SPEND 3 FREAKING HOURS ON THE HADES CUP FRIIIIICK
Hope you're having fun~
Gamechamp3000 "It's time for the final boss gauntlet!"
Me realizing there's still an hour left in the video.
Gamechamp randomly picking fights with boat nerds and chicken little was hilarious
Also when she beat the bees with a time of 8:88, she used bond of flame, axels Keyblade. And Axel is number 8 in the organization.
That's poetry, GOT IT MEMORIZED?
I WAS wondering why it was less than half done, and I am happily surprised by how far this challenge is going to go.
Did this challenge myself, was frustrating at times, but also incredibly rewarding by the end of it
Lingering Will on Crit lv 1 was a challenge... Not as much as off screen pirates shooting me though 😂
You pulled off the impossible feat of making me care about a game I never cared about. Well played, Miss Champ.
What are tha chances there a group of 13 dudes and they're all named Data? Can't be a very common name.
This is the worst joke I love you
I'm in physical pain
