I just had these lights installed a few weeks ago, and my issue is trying to change the lighting, and having them come on every night. Thanks for putting this information out there!
So far i've been able to schedule out my lights without issues. I also created scheduled zones. my kid didn't like the lights on outside of his bedroom window. so now i scheduled that section on a different schedule. We still love the setup. my kids use and play with the lights weekly.
Can you expand on the "replacing a diode" statement? Is each tri-LED socket replaceable or do you have to replace a "string"? If you have to replace a "string" how long is that? It looks like the lights are behind plates that would have to be removed entirely. Do they have any programmable modes where only some of the lights come on? I'm thinking every second or third light on would make it more useful as house lighting around non-holidays; something that would more closely resemble landscape uplighting. They look good but the warranty seems pretty weak for something so expensive.
Fantastic questions! I do agree the warranty period is week. The tracks come in 6 or 8 ft segments on average. fastened by a screw to the mount. You take that down to access the line. Each light has 3 lines in and 3 lines out. you'd simply clip the one out and patch the other in its place. pretty simple setup. As for programming the lights. You can program as many "zones" as you want. each zone can be whatever you want it to be. For the house lighting they have a few options built in, one ever 3, 5 and 7 lights. You can also customize each zone as well, so if I want two lights at the peak of my dormers on and the rest of the zones to be spaced 5 wide you can do that. This system, from what I found had the most customizable features out of the box.
I am a jellyfish installer in Denver, Colorado, You don't even have to take the track down to service the lights. The warranty is 3 years on parts and one year on service. After that it should be just a small fee To get it serviced but most problems will occur within 2 to 4 months of install and can be fixed under warranty easily.
I have to say... this is probably the best lighting system I have seen so far. While the colored lights are super nice, the white light that you can use regularly is just incredible. The $600 linux controller seems a bit steep (linux is a free os but I understand that the hardware involves a bit of work). Super cool.
Glad you like it! I didn't realize the controllers run off linux. makes sense. such a simple platform to use. Looking forward to seeing all the updates and upgrades they come up with.
Looks slick! This year I finally strung my lights on steel cables. A few lag hooks and a couple turn buckles later and its set. Install/uninstall should be a breeze from now on. I have about 175 ft of c9 leds, total cost about $100 to install

@@JellyFishLighting HOW MUCH PER FOOT? You can get simple esp8266 module such as wemos d1 mini for 3 bucks (installing "WLED" software on it could't be simpler), whichever PSU you like depending on lenght (can't really add it to price/foot since you need exact lenght of strips for that) and you can choose either simple ws2128b strips or some of the more expensive ones with data backup channel or rgbw. Total cost can easily be close to 1-2$/feet and you pay 3$ for amazing wifi controller instead of 600$ :)))) imo jellyfishlighting is nothing but a rip off..
Another thing these lights are good for is safety and security. If you are asleep late at night, and you hear someone walking around the exterior of your house, you just turn these lights on full power white, and the intruder will most likely run away. That’s why it is important to have them installed around the complete perimeter of your house. I can’t believe you cannot control them when you away from the house when you are away from your wifi. There are plenty of apps that control lighting, security cameras, etc. that are accessible over the internet to your house.
I love these lights for "security" purposes. they shine bright. the company has recently updated there software for remote use. its been a fantastic update.
Mr Pest & Lawn Ginja...any idea how the system will hold up to pressure washing ? Due to the bourbon distillery's in my area (The Bourbon Capital of The World) you have to pressure wash the soffit & facia at least once every year to two years. This looks totally sick & I would thoroughly enjoy the light domination of my neighbors !!!
I know they do commercial all the time. these lights are much brighter than most competitors. The tracks are secured by screws and they're in there pretty tight. Assuming you didn't power wash it within a few inches I don't see there being an issue. With that said I would contact JellyFish for the final say.
Great find it looks and works incredibly well. I hate installing lights. Sorry people I just do. When someone comes up with a cheaper Hologram I will be all in :)
Striperman, still haven’t got my lights up yet , apart from my healing dislocated shoulder it’s been damn hot here , heading for 38 Sat 39 Sunday and Monday. How had your day been mate ?😎🥵
Trevor hope that shoulder is healing. Lights can wait. Get better and put them up on Christmas Eve. They can still stay up for 12 days after lol. Maybe you will get a cold front and some flurries too 🤔😂
So there is an app and its connected to my wifi but you cannot change it remotely? Meaning if I am at work, I cant change it? And if I am on my WIFI 5G network, I still wont be able to control it?
you can repair any led you need to. they will give you a patch kit and they also have tutorials on how to do it as well. As for paiting the house. The areas these are installed are the soffits and fascia. These areas are commonly made out of aluminum and are not paited as they come pre painted. if for some reason you really wanted to paint these areas you would need to either remove them or you'd need to mask off each individual light.
That's one I havent had a chance to look into. The lesson I've learned is the 3 led in the jelly fish disk have trumped all other single led systems in most categories other than linking it to music
I'm pretty sure a neighbor on the next street over has this or something simular. I saw while taking the kid trick or treating and I noticed that it wasn't the regular lighting. I did not know about the permanent lighting but I did know that the colors were programmable and they were going to be using the same lights for Christmas.
I'll be doing a comparison video soon between trimlight and jellyfish. trimlight is a great company. the lights are not as bright due to the fact that the led they use is a single use led per light vs jellyfish using 3. You'll be happy with either system in my opinion.
@@pestandlawnginja did they create a solution for remote operation, as well as start to offer outdoor expansion modules for DIY added lighting or maybe an indoor solution for lighting up the window frames? also do you feel like the system is fairly future proof, or worst-case a third-party IT or home A/V company could expand its capabilities beyond what the company intended?
Looks awesome! I've been looking at permanent Christmas lights for a while too. Since these point down, do you miss the visible bulb look at some angles?
What you never tell us is what the cost was or what you "small discount" for making the video was. Because at $30 per foot and another $650 for the controller... without any extensions, taxes, or delivery. IT'S BEYOND EXPENSIVE.
not sure where the confusion is. I straight up said its $25 per linear foot and $650 per controller. I did 180 linear feet. hope that clarifies things for you.
Awesome video. Well I just forked out $$ for my Jellyfish lights. Pretty pricey, but i did some homework and i think these will be the best. They will be installed in a week and a half. Freakin can't wait. Are you still liking your lights?
Amazing! I didn't even know there was such a thing as this. Love watching your videos, you never disappoint. Very interested in these permanent lights, unfortunately we are in Philly area and I don't see any companies nearby that do these lights. Any recommendations for similar lighting in our area from your research?
Glad you enjoyed it Steve! One of the many reasons I chose this company is for the fact they will sell these as DIY kits as well. That gives people like yourself an opportunity to still enjoy the lights and you can either DIY or hire someone locally to install them.
@@pestandlawnginja Jellyfish finally has a contractor that installs in my area! They've installed it already on the house. Just wanted to thank you for the detailed info and spreading the word on it, as I would have never known of such a great system without you.
That does look amazing! I've seen a lot of advertisements for them here in Utah. Not quite ready to pull the trigger yet, but definitely something I want to do in the future. Do you think it will add value to the home?
Great question. I feel like its more sentimental value than actual value. Its similar to solar panels. Is the house going to appraise more due to the permentant accent lighting?...... doubt it, but it is a cool feature that may through someone over the top on the sale.
That is a legit question..... the only areas left to expand are a 40ft section across the back. My issue is I feel like there's value in having them for the kids and the trampoline visibility. Still on the fence. Super pleased with how the shed and pergola turned out
I started watching the video thinking, Who would pay thousands of dollars for Christmas lights? At the end I was thinking I really want some for my house. How much did they cost, by the way?
The JellyFish Lighting System is controlled by a Linux based computer, which costs $600. In addition to that, ~$23-$25 per foot of lights including installation. Assuming you'll be in your home longer than 3 years I find its a great way to dress up the home. I use these on the daily now. Gotta love a company like JellyFish Lighting that is transparent with there pricing. doesn't happen very often. I found they weren't the cheapest nor the most expensive but they had the best product.
These are awesome looking if me and my wife could afford it I’m sure we would do something like this. This year we are just using rope lights they have a remote to change 16 different colors not as cool or impressive as these.
Love this but ill wait till they fix the issues you have, music 2-5 g, plug into bunches, windows...but ill be waiting for your updates on these issues. Thanks for this video, im definitely going with jellyfish tho.
music will be pretty rad. windows will be a nice touch. I'm on the fence about the windows....... I'm enjoying the clean look, but the counter argument is you can turn whatever lights on you want at anytime.
Ginja , I am going to do some google searching and sus some kind of system out . I’ll want quality and durability like yourself, but I’ll probably have to sell a kidney and one eye to pay for it though. 😳😂
Man! Looks legit. I'm super tempted to pull the trigger myself. How many linear feet did you have installed on the house, not counting your pergola and shed?
I think the total without those included was 140 linear feet. Theres a 40ft section of the far back yard that I didn't do because its only visible to the neighbors and its on the second story behind a tree. so I didn't get the entire home covered.
I bought Diamond lighting same system, but I have 6 LED in each light, And I can turn the system on or off from anywhere in the world. And for a lot less. But nice install.
I would LOVE to see more detail about the app, different colour settings and animation patterns. There is no jellyfish where I live, so I have a different system and my app only has a couple pre-programmed settings so you have to manually input and save your own customized settings.
Wow, looks amazing..I'm seriously considering. 2.4ghz vs 5ghz isnt a bad thing. The support for 5ghz would be nice but, 2.4ghz has more range than 5ghz and your going to want range vs speed IMO for this.

I am getting gemstone lights installed in a few weeks I a like a little kid waiting for Christmas to arrive.
awesome. permanent lights are so much fun.
Fantastic!! 17:49 what did you do with screws?
👊😂 they may have been imaginary
@@pestandlawnginja 😂
@@ruslankonyakhin8200 sometimes I do that
Mr Pest & Lawn Ginja...any idea how the system will hold up to pressure washing ? Due to the bourbon distillery's in my area (The Bourbon Capital of The World) you have to pressure wash the soffit & facia at least once every year to two years.
This looks totally sick & I would thoroughly enjoy the light domination of my neighbors !!!
I know they do commercial all the time. these lights are much brighter than most competitors. The tracks are secured by screws and they're in there pretty tight. Assuming you didn't power wash it within a few inches I don't see there being an issue. With that said I would contact JellyFish for the final say.
QUESTION, with installation and product what do you figure the cost is per foot?
$25 per linear foot
Great find it looks and works incredibly well. I hate installing lights. Sorry people I just do. When someone comes up with a cheaper Hologram I will be all in :)
Right!? not many things worse than that!
And if I am on my WIFI 5G network, I still wont be able to control it?
you are correct in your explanation. however they recently released a new app that allows full remote control of your lights.
Nice job do you provide Training?
Rolls Royce approved makes all the difference! 😂👍 Looks awesome man. 💯
Thank you! Hes is hilarious
Can you replace/repair a bad section?
If you paint the house is it to be taken down?
you can repair any led you need to. they will give you a patch kit and they also have tutorials on how to do it as well.
As for paiting the house. The areas these are installed are the soffits and fascia. These areas are commonly made out of aluminum and are not paited as they come pre painted. if for some reason you really wanted to paint these areas you would need to either remove them or you'd need to mask off each individual light.
THAT IS SICK!!!
Glad you liked it! They are RAD to play with.
Did you compare jellyfish with gemstone? If so, what made you choose jellyfish over gemstone?
I'm not familiar with gemstone. what i can say is the three led's per diode set jellyfish apart. the lights are so much brighter. most don't compare.
🌞Whoa!! Now that pretty slick! 👍😎
Thank you! We love it
I’m looking seriously at Jellyfish and Gemstone. Did you look into Gemstone at all? 5 year warranty.
That's one I havent had a chance to look into. The lesson I've learned is the 3 led in the jelly fish disk have trumped all other single led systems in most categories other than linking it to music
That system is sic Ginga! I dare say that Rolls Royce was probably impressed, but that's open for interpretation......
Thanks Jayme! Rolls is a hard one to please LOL
I'm pretty sure a neighbor on the next street over has this or something simular. I saw while taking the kid trick or treating and I noticed that it wasn't the regular lighting. I did not know about the permanent lighting but I did know that the colors were programmable and they were going to be using the same lights for Christmas.
it's super fun. you can spot this system from a mile away. its much brighter than the competitors products and more customizable
Hey Ginja, what is the Lumens on one for the pucks at full white?
60 lumens or lower depending on the color or shade
We will be getting a similar install from a company called trimlight. Can't wait
I'll be doing a comparison video soon between trimlight and jellyfish. trimlight is a great company. the lights are not as bright due to the fact that the led they use is a single use led per light vs jellyfish using 3. You'll be happy with either system in my opinion.
a year later what are your thoughts? Are you still enjoying it?
Awesome setup still. I still believe it’s the best product out there. Updates have been good. Just lacking music and lights interaction
Damn Ginja. Dropping videos like this when we are already dropping cash on the holidays. ;) Saved this video....and now I have to save up some $$$
It's soo worth it. street cred goes way up!
Looks awesome! I've been looking at permanent Christmas lights for a while too. Since these point down, do you miss the visible bulb look at some angles?
I thought I would but I love how "hidden" these are. I don't really notice they're there and I love the color casting on the walls
@@pestandlawnginja that makes good sense to me! My wife is still torn tho haha. Too bad you're not down here in central Utah or I'd drive by!
For sure!
What you never tell us is what the cost was or what you "small discount" for making the video was. Because at $30 per foot and another $650 for the controller... without any extensions, taxes, or delivery. IT'S BEYOND EXPENSIVE.
It’s $60+ per foot to have someone install it for you.
He doesn’t tell you cause it’s not worth buying unless you have throw away money. But he paid roughly 2.5k-3k for this
@@bradracine3426 That’s not horrible.
He showed the invoice total in the video. It was 2500 ish.
not sure where the confusion is. I straight up said its $25 per linear foot and $650 per controller. I did 180 linear feet. hope that clarifies things for you.
I agree with the "buy once, Cry Once" motto.
That was a hard lesson for me to learn in my early days.
Awesome video. Well I just forked out $$ for my Jellyfish lights. Pretty pricey, but i did some homework and i think these will be the best. They will be installed in a week and a half. Freakin can't wait. Are you still liking your lights?
we love the lights. use them everyday. they have been true to there word and now have an app to control them remotely.
Should have gone gemstone. Jelly won't last
Nice Video. Well crafted. Great visuals. Very thorough review. Thanks. Hope you don't mind, I'm going to share this.
Rad!
I have no one in my area, will Jellyfish send Ne everything I need to self install?
yes they will!
I absolutely love your content. This was very helpful. Thank you!
Thanks for the feedback Tony! Really appreciate it
Great video! Can I ask what state you live in with those beautiful mountains in the background?
Utah!
What happens if lights stop working? My store bought garbage never work next season
Thats what I get for posting comments while the video is still going..
No problem! Each light can be replaced by yourself or the company
Wonder if there is a jellyfish in northern Michigan. ? If so I’ll hire them today !!!
such a cool product. they do sell it as a diy kit as well.
Would you Still recommend them a year out?
yes, there customer service isn't great but the product is still better than others i've seen.
@@pestandlawnginja also are those UT mountains?
That does look amazing! I've seen a lot of advertisements for them here in Utah. Not quite ready to pull the trigger yet, but definitely something I want to do in the future.
Do you think it will add value to the home?
Great question. I feel like its more sentimental value than actual value. Its similar to solar panels. Is the house going to appraise more due to the permentant accent lighting?...... doubt it, but it is a cool feature that may through someone over the top on the sale.
The problem is they almost only exist in Utah.
Those lights look awesome! Did they give you like a ballpark estimate on them. Like a certain dollar amount per linear foot or something like that?
Yes. The ballpark was $25 per linear foot 🦶
@@pestandlawnginja oh man... That is pricey. How many Linear feet did you do?
Big question is are you going to expand it now that you have it installed?
That is a legit question..... the only areas left to expand are a 40ft section across the back. My issue is I feel like there's value in having them for the kids and the trampoline visibility. Still on the fence. Super pleased with how the shed and pergola turned out
This is so cool! Didn't know this was a thing.
Thanks! Soo much fun!
What drone did you use to film this ?
mavic pro 2
I see you redacted the estimate but it looks like the total was in the 2000's. Am I seeing that right?
$5000
@@pestandlawnginja Ouch. Scratch that off my wish list.
How is this only getting 9k views.... this video is awesome
🙌🙌🙌thank you!
Self installation is roughly $17 per foot plus the $600 controller excluding shipping and extra transmitters/receivers for long jumps or high footage.
If you’d like an exact cost please fill out the form on our website www.jellyfishlighting.com and a local salesperson will reach out asap!
This year we are just using rope lights they have a remote to change 16 different colors not as cool or impressive as these.
they are stupid expensive but man o man do we love them. The new tech on rope lights is pretty legit!
What is the cost for the lighting
about $25 per linear foot.
How are these holding up now a year and a half later?
Incredibly well and the company fixed the app issues I mentioned in the video
Do they have an alexa/google home integration?
Not yet!
First Aussie 😁. Dominating the neighbourhood ,lawn wise , now light wise. Ginja , another great informative video . 😎👍👍
🖐 Yes! I'm sure you've got some good options for lighting like this!
Ginja , I am going to do some google searching and sus some kind of system out . I’ll want quality and durability like yourself, but I’ll probably have to sell a kidney and one eye to pay for it though. 😳😂
👊😂
Potential 1 year update on this??
Coming soon
Very Nice Product
It really is! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Great video, thanks for making it!
Glad you liked it!
Are they worth the cost? my quote is like 10k
I have a few friends that speant 10k and they're super pleased. with that said it depends on what you want, so far I'm still happy.
I bought Diamond lighting same system, but I have 6 LED in each light, And I can turn the system on or off from anywhere in the world. And for a lot less. But nice install.
Thanks for sharing. Sounds great 👍
I would LOVE to see more detail about the app, different colour settings and animation patterns. There is no jellyfish where I live, so I have a different system and my app only has a couple pre-programmed settings so you have to manually input and save your own customized settings.
great feedback Sarah! I'll get that done.
GREAT VIDEO...very in depth
Glad it was helpful!
I’d hate to be on the same block. First the grass, then the lights...I can’t keep up! Slay those lights!
Hahaha for reels! Slayin all the things
Does anyone know is there any kind of lights similar online that I could install myself? I have plenty of track already
you can purchase this direct from jellyfish as a do it yourself install.
I can’t afford watching your channel. Well, I can as long as the wife doesn’t see it! Lol
Looks fantastic Ginja
😁 I hear that!
So awesome
Thanks Tim!
Wow, looks amazing..I'm seriously considering. 2.4ghz vs 5ghz isnt a bad thing. The support for 5ghz would be nice but, 2.4ghz has more range than 5ghz and your going to want range vs speed IMO for this.
For sure. Makes sense to me too
Love my jellyfish lighting! So convenient
Rad! They are soo much fun!
Looks great, won't catch Allyn doing it though, he usually gets three videos a year out of xmas lights :)
👊😂 He's much smarter than I! maybe I'll do a short version on these lights LOL
😆 🤣
Jellyfish lighting are in Katy near Houston ! 2023
Awesome
