This mower has a lot features that differentiate it from most all other robot mowers on the market. Looks really amazing! Can't wait to try it out for myself.
I am a senior and it takes about an hour to cut my lawn. I would consider this machine except for the fact it is about the only exercise I get in summer beyond walking to the corner store, about a 7 minute walk each way. I presently have a battery 20" Stihl which I love.
Yes, finally this will be the beginning of the segue into potentially making these things way more mainstream now and provide a lot of competition now to these goofy robot mowers with the razor blades
In the video, it is said the transmitter mast should be preference on the roof of the house. Questions: Is the transmitter mast in the package of the robot mower or must it be bought separately? The emitter needs electricity, that you don't have on a roof. When you are in a very windy region, would be the mast resistant? If you have several areas around the house, if the transmitter is not on the roof, would be the robot functional, even when the transmitter is not in the proximity? After the launch of the first version, when updates are coming during the warranty, are the free for the customers?
I was unable to test how it does with leaves. the blades spin as a regular lawn mower does. the current model is a side discharge. as a best guess it'll do fine but the deck will push the leaves if its not at its higher settings.
My garden lacks wine glasses and hotdogs, but I wonder how it copes with small branches and molehills. If it avoids those as well, there remains not much to do for it.
Seting up the boundary was not difficult. At the time I made the video it was as easy as walking behind it and remote controlling the device to setup the boundary.
1. By “per day,” does that mean 24 hours? How long does it actually take to do the 1.75 acres, and on what speed setting? 2. Is the final product going to have an automatically alternating cut pattern as suggested by The Pest and Lawn Ginger? 3. Will it, or does it have the ability to detect too much ground water, to automatically avoid those areas? Or, will that need to be adjusted throughout the year/rainy season, when water pools in certain areas of your property? 4. What will be the lowest height of cut on the final product?
The upgrade is well worth it! I didn't notice to much of a difference with music but the phone use was a huge upgrade when it came to talking to people
I curious about your thoughts on using it for sports fields? I'm wondering if this could take good care of a baseball field? Is the cut quality good enough?
this has fantastic potential yes. the lower cut height will be great. the ability to sharpen the blades at will is fantastic. It could easily do a a baseball field.
For me it's really the first " robot lawn mower" technicaly speaking on the market. Traditional lawn mower blades are way more efficient and historicaly way more durable than razor blades. With even easier maintenance (if you know how to sharp the blade, you don't even have to change them).
This were the old fence posts. I had a 3ft border fence on the property. Came home from vacation and the neighbors decided to put a regular sized fence up. I've been hesitant to remove it due to not wanting to chance damaging the new fence. I've been thinking about constructing a grape vine arbor with the posts
I feel like the majority of this video is of it mowing an already mowed lawn so all you can see is the tracks and how it handles terrain. Right at the end is a few seconds of it mowing a lawn where its long enough that you can actually see how its cutting. Would love to see way more of that as otherwise how can you tell how well its performing? Also wont the tire tracks damage the lawn over time?
I've seen your review of the new lymow..... I'm ready to dive in to make the purchase of for the early bird special. It runs at $1,899 . However, I never did a Kickstarter purchase and I'm kind of nervous. Do you think I should go ahead and make the purchase? I really like the machine. What do you think?
so far the signs are all good on the company. unfortunately there's been a few bad apples that give it a bad name. The discount is fantastic assuming everything goes well. One thing about Lymow that most do not know is i've been communicating with them for a year and 10 months before i did the video. This wasn't an overnight deal. Hopefully that helps shed some light on your decision. Everything i said in the video i stand by. It's a great machine and I look forward to the finished product.
@@pestandlawnginja well I did it!!! I was nervous at first. But when I saw there was 23 slots left, I hopped on bored. And I grabbed the the early bird special for $1,899 I
You absolutely don't have to mow "at least 5-7 times per week" with a robotic mower which uses razor blades. That's such a wild exaggeration that I stopped there.
@ Believe me, I'm not that guy. Lots of nice lawns here, but mine stands out. People comment on it all the time. Before getting a Luba I only used my Deere x390 (with a big league lawn roller) and if I didn't mow twice a week with that during peak season it would be way too long. I also have been getting lawn treatments 9 times per year from a company that also handles golf courses. My luba handles an acre of my lawn. My friend handles a full 2.5 acres with his luba and it also looks great. With a larger property you simply can't run it in every area 5-7 times a week as it takes too long to mow. I would say that 3 times a week during peak season for proper mulching and a clean cut is more accurate based on my experience. I will also note that the razor blades are way sharper than a regular mower blade. So it may not be able to handle grass that's too long without several passes, but for regular use it works better (no split ends of grass).
Since it's a Kickstarter campaign, there are limited numbers at the current pricing before the pricing goes up... So it's best to check for what the current pricing is...

Not sure how to meet your expectations. The three lawns were all overgrown and we cut more than 1/3rd of the head off. The machine mulched great.
I am switching to this from my original Luba1 !
What was wrong with the luba1?
Our grass is rather rough and the 8 Luba razor blades have a tendency of getting clogged up a bit with grass. Otherwise it works great.
