We have some of the hardest water to wheee the city states it isn’t drinkable if you can help it. Well water or city.. it’s all allow calcium build up.

The on/off limit is to prevent water hammering on the valve and the connected water system. Keeps the timer from breaking everything in the house if your hooked up there.
