Stanley Baldwin was Prime Minister of the UK from 1935-1937 and set the policies for appeasement to which Neville Chamberlain merely followed through with. Although Baldwin did hope to place a deterrent through an ambitious rearmament in the RAF to entice negotiations with Germany. The biggest obstacle was Churchill and his aggressive push on German capabilities to entice more action from Parliament. Appeasement was also due in part that England could not fulfill it’s obligations to provide substantial support to France if War were to break out, and by 1933 the UK knew of Germany’s intentions of aggressive policies. Britain was not in a proper state to conduct such actions with domestic concerns(Great Depression still enacted problems as well as antiwar sentiment), maintain it’s holdings over the imperial dominions(New Zealand as an example), and Geopolitically the other major nations at the time were the: US, Soviet Union, France, and fascist Italy. Japan was an aspiring power in the East that did concern English investments, but over confidence in their major holdings being affected( Singapore and Hong Kong being prime examples) would be untouched. Relations would sour drastically from 1929 til 1941 between the two nations, based on views and treatment from both sides.
I love that Dave calls his strategies "exploits" but the game has been updated so much he's actually just utilizing the game's features as intended. Like the Anschluss isn't an exploit- his army IS as big as it's supposed to be!
you actually get one free super heavy railway gun when you complete the project. it's quite funny in Kaiserreich, actually, because when you release puppets in that mod they inherit your technology including special projects. so you can vassal swarm with super heavy railway guns as every time you release someone through the decision they get the tech
41:15 Same goes for reverse. Why should Germany consider herself fighting a war, when the other participant is literally on the other side of the planet. Or why should I have to care that India or Canada are not done yet. Or capitulate Chile because the Japanese said so. Distance AND power ratio + projection should be mechanic to allow for an easy white peace.
The reason I think Paradox hasn't done that is that it would involve changing so much of the game You'd make sure everything goes well in historical, every nation, focus, and no bugs or exploits can break the game
Honestly the Chile question bugs me so much since the whole problem is just that they get granted the ''Great power'' when it should only be granted to the historical big nations and maybe the player if his country gets powerful enough. Also another thing, the fact that once you start the war is literally impossible to finish unless you capitulate the world is really bugging me because that's not how it should be, Paradox should give you an option to give a peace deal like they do in other games, if their war support is low enough they should accept it and end the war, not going until the bitter end

baldwin is viewed as the architect of appeasement. He opposed rearmament and generally symbolises all the negatives of pre war UK government. Of course the real situation is much more complex. But thats history in general for you.
13:00 Stanley Baldwin would have been surrounded by the same general staff as Chamberlain after him and, like Chamberlain, lacked any direct military experience himself, meaning even if he was prime minister when the Munich conference went down he'd likely back appeasement for the same reasons as Chamberlain. Now, in reality, he *did* support appeasement but only because he didn't want to drag the UK into another World War unless there was a strong possibility of the UK being able to completely crush the opposing side so thoroughly that it was less a war than a slaughter and the issue was that the generals that served both Baldwin and Chamberlain were old guards who'd been in their positions since before the First World War and had either served on the front or had led the army during the war and all of them were incredibly wary of Germany's actual strength usually over estimating by one and a half to two times what their actual strength was constantly leaving the PM in the position of feeling too weak to oppose the German's will, in spite of the fact that Germany was weaker than the UK-France alliance at EVERY SINGLE APPEASEMENT even when the Italians jumped on board. So, who was to blame for appeasement? The bloody generals who were too caught up in WW1 era fears to realise that by appeasing Hilter, all they did was bring him closer to the feared strength they thought he had, and since both PM prior to Churchill lacked any military experience to call their own they blindly trusted the word of those same generals.
The railway gun can affect infinite battles at a time (or at least so many it doesn't matter) but it cannot work while moving, to settle the confusion near the end of the video
flame tanks are op since they can be cheap af and give bonuses on most terains, my go to for infantry divisions is armored engineers medium flametanks rangers support anti air and hospitals, stacking as much terain bonuses as possible + anti air +hospitals give extra hp to infantry make them lose less experience makes you lose less manpower and less warsupport from combat casualties
Best I can tell Stanley Baldwin was just another appeaser but considering he was the PM when Britain rejected the Stresa Front proposed by Mussolini and was also PM when the London Naval Treaty was signed, his goals were not just appeasement but allying with Germany to combat the relationship between France and the USSR.
You can do Anchluss as your third focus: 1. Rhineland 2. Use the 5 army xp from Rhineland to mass manufacture 2-width infantry divisions that only need inf equipment. 3. Heed Concerns / Reorganize the Wehrmact 4. If you've made enough cheap divisions, you can do Anchluss!
In technicality Germany should start with the Autobahn already. The focus should be to expand it not to initially build it as its construction started in 1933 as soon as the Nationalist Socialist took power and the first part of it was finished in 1935
Had to try it, I had 3 heavy railway guns a full army with heavy howitzers, busted through the whole maginot (every tile, even the southern ones) as if it never existed
You can make destroyers with very low visibility and over 40 speed, so they have a very low hit profile, haveing ultimate lifespan. You can also reduce fort effect by attacking from multiple angles, and if you drop the para org reduction , then you smash trough even faster.
Well this is what the gustav railway canon was intended for by adolf from what i remember, to destroy the french maginot line, only makes sense it would be easier
Why does everyone use Extra Fuel tanks? Why not external Fuel tanks? Like for basic airframes, external fuel tanks give 300km in range, with only weight as penalty. While extra fuel tanks give less range but also reduce aerial defense.
The Maginot can be broken just by using Flametanks and engineers (whichever of the 3 versions, they all give bonus attack against forts) If you attack it from 2 sides with a big pushing division (preferably tanks since they get even better bonuses for forts) the Maginot effectively does nothing. You can easily break the tile to the side of Metz with just that.
Is Göering one of the best Chiefs of the Airforce, when he is just a specialist (0.20 daily air exp) and has only a 2.5% reduction in production cost? When Germany has 2 experts (0.30 exp) with bonus to weather and ground support and a Genius (0.40).
if you do nothing but spam new infantry divisions (with roughly 15 mils to infantry equip) and leave yourself a window to pick the anschluss focus on april 3rd-5th there is an opportunity to take it then. i beleive thats the fastest current possible anschluss. i've done it a bunch of times in the current patch. give it a try.
some argue carriers should be 100% naval bomb, others say a 2:1 naval bombers to fighter... yet others go for a naval/fighter craft... do fighters play a roll in carrier engagements? can you speak to this?
In real world Germany demand only Gdańsk not Gdynia for Slovakia and even allow Poland to keeep Westerplatte post. But H also wanted an aliance (Poland would had to join anti comintern pact) and coridor (military akcess). That where a Robentropp propozal for Poland in 1939. So Danzig for slovakia focus is not acurate.
sadly you can only do this having all the dlcs , it cost 75 dollars with the last dlc , i can buy entire AC games with that money . Paradox begs to be pirated at this point
