    And finally, thank you all for watching. This was by far the most time-and-energy consuming video I've made, but it was absolutely worth it to have this game's story finally be told. I really hope it can mean just as much to some of you as it does to me.

      You know, I recognized the yugioh theme and had to listen to it, but I ended up listening to the forbidden memories free duel ost rather than duelists of the roses cuz that's the game I grew up playing for many years, and this video brought back memories lol

      Colossal W for making the documentary + colossal secondary W for adding the list of music you used (people almost never do that, and it always makes me sad when they use a banger, but I can't find it because they're talking over it ;w;)

    It's kinda weird yet awesome to see myself being enshrined in something Crash-related, much less speedrunning even lol. It's awesome to see so many people improve onto sub 50 even just from the Mach Tornado discovery alone. Abdulling was such a terrible sounding name for a move 😂, hence why I opted for Hyper Spin at the time. Beautiful compilation of so many great people. Will want to come back and knock some stuff around in Crash 2 and 3 sometime.

    • @RikoKSB
      @RikoKSB  Рік тому +55

      The biggest gripe I will always have with the name Abdulling is that some of the same people who suggested it also later on threw a massive hissy fit over the fact that we called Hobslide Hobslide (admittedly, not a great name either, but it stuck) lol.
      Regardless, thank you Abdul. I’m really glad you liked it. Would love so see you around again; I still dip into NST in short bursts here and there, but I’d love to rediscover the fire for running it I once had.

    Amazing video. I love these history of run videos. Seeing all the different runners come and leave, records pass from person to the next, and minute barriers thought impossible become possible as they continue to push forward for the next barrier to break. It’s cool to see how these runners were able to push the game to it’s limit and you did a great job conveying that story.

    The OG PS1 game was even easier to break with the "god mode" demo glitch. You have to wait for the demo of the plane level "Bye Bye Blimps" to start, hold triangle the whole time the demo is loading, and you'll be able to play the level when it starts the demo. Exit the level once you can control the game, and you will appear in the center of the warp room with all the end game power ups including the bazooka and the Crash Dash. If you finish the level normally, you'll be in Warp Room 4 but the game will lock you inside of it with the electricity, you'll be softlocked.

    • @RikoKSB

      Funny thing is that the speedrun that uses this glitch isn’t even faster than simply playing the game normally. 😂

    This was a really good video I enjoyed how you explained a lot of tricks and the console differences etc.
    I think more explanation of the details of the route would’ve helped! I’m someone who’s never played these games and maybe it’s just me, but I like to know a bit about the game’s world/learn some things about the speedrun framed within the game world. Like during a lot of the cool montages throughout this video, I just had like no frame of reference for what I was looking at

    I really liking watching these videos. I'm not and never will be fast enough to be known in a Crash speed running community, but I generally find dev times (let alone platinum) as an absolute joke. I know I'm not alone, there are hundreds if not thousands of us, but the gap between the fairly skilled and WR speed runner is so unbelievably immense. It is mind boggling to watch these
    For a reference to my skill, I can mach tornado with ease, but can't hobslide with even a shred of consistency. I'm sure I'm not alone

      Everybody starts somewhere, and I do believe with time anyone can reach the top levels.
      At the same time though, there’s nothing wrong with being at the mid or lower levels and having fun anyway. And you don’t have to be top level to be known. Speedrunning is for everyone. 😊

      I was between Charge of the Light Brigade from Master Duel or Yusei’s Theme from the 5D’s anime for that last montage; Charge of the Light Brigade *barely* won out.

    I wanna see blind speedruns new crash maps no one ever seen before, and only a limited amount of attempts. Tournament setting by the company itself or even by modders.

    Such a well made video!
    This is now my new favorite video from you!
    Oh, so question: with the double sliding and more discoveries potential with hobsliding, how much time can be saved in a 108% run with both of these 2 tricks?

    • @RikoKSB
      @RikoKSB  Рік тому +1

      The 108% record was actually beaten very recently! Not sure how much lower it can go because there’s a lot more going on in that category so it’s hard to say.
