i love pop punk, FBRcore and soulja boy
Ask the OG scene kids back around 06-07. They were all down with Soulja Boy. Good times!
Truth. As evidenced by the classic ISMFOF cover of Crank That. Myspace days were wild for sure
Truth crank that was on my MySpace page frfr
People can hate on Soulja boy but I respect any artist that redefined a genre of music. Soulja Boy broke the mold.
he deserves an engineering degree for his marketing techniques
Sir Soulja, the first rapper to be featured on the Cozy Representative channel 🙌
Respect!
LMFAO THE INTRO ALREADY CRAZY
This was so fun to live through.
I wish wearing 4xl shirts came back into style.
I’ve always been a unironic Soulja fan. He’s got some really good songs in his 2015-2018 era. It’s a shame that he got locked up right as he was making a big comeback and he just hasn’t come close to that again since, other than the 1 TikTok song he had that was a success for like a week.
I GOT ME SOME BATHING APES! lol Lets goooo Im ready for this episode Cozy!
Being from the south I love hearing his southern accent in interviews, sometimes those regional accents hit just right.
All Elder Emos and young Millennials (~30) remember this time fondly lol, shit was wild and MySpace was popping the fuck off haha
And snap music really down south we called that tear the club up Muzik
Unironically an absolute visionary for sure. I miss crunk and snap music so much.
He said he was going to mix it up. But I didn’t know this mixed.
I had no idea I needed this video or that you'd be the one to make it. Shoutout to all of you that listened to calvary kids. If you know you know
Wow I really didn't expect this to hit me so hard with the nostalgia. Thanks for putting all these clips together!!
we as a society have still not caught up to when soulja boy, gucci mane, and waka flocka flame dropped "bingo"
Was a huge fan of Paramore, Nickelback and Soulja Boy back in those days. Great times
your delivery is so perfect lmao
I was one of those ppl that unironically liked his music back in the day.
That intro *Chefs Kiss
I wish you made these as an audio podcast!
Him and Justin Bieber change the music game forever there the reason everyone wants to be a social media superstar
Lil B deserves more recognition for his influence Lil b did just as many things first and he’s the rawest and most positive rapper TYBG
That intro got me dead.
This was the first rap song I ever heard. I was 4
Holy shit aint no way
A cozy rep vid about fuckin soulja boy oh my god
the whole era of soulja boy was fucking hilarious. listening to songs like pretty boy swag, yah trick yah, crank that, etc., it really feels like the type of music primed to become viral internet memes before people knew how to do that as a deliberate marketing ploy. also, the travis barker remix of crank that fucking slaps.
Good Vid Man ..Really Captured Some Raw Footage During That Time Period . Ice-T Reflection Is Spot on .Soulja Boy is in The Early Stages of That.
Our emo punk talk host is going main stream!! Lol. Just kidding. I love rock metal emo and rap
I remember how popular it was, they'd play it on MTV daily and on radio, I was 7/8 years old, it was like that first sign of that corny rap but over ambient brassy 2000s beats, and then when they parodied it on The Boondocks, it was some funny shit.
Such a great topic for a video
Cozy coming thru with the Draco respect!!!
i feel like the intro was a guy ripley reference from that tai.. tv ep 😭
still love soulja boy i remember when he first popped off very good as always cozy
Yup these were some awesome times man!
you GOTTA Do suicideboys next
Was not expecting this but I am here for it!
Goated intro
soulja is a goat idc listen to kiss me through the phone or turn my swagg on and tell me it ain’t a vibe
the reviews of soulja simple lyrics then are hilarious when today we’re hyping carti and all that, he paved the way
these reviews are dumb anyway soulja never claimed to be a lyricist, do they review bob dylan based off of guitar solos? no lol
his beats were fire it’s club bangers nothing wrong with that
For a future video you need to do the tale of two A Skylit Drives
He should probably wait until the court case is settled.
After this video I know for a fact you have a Mr. Tallahassee Pain coming !
1:40 I have no idea what he said at all but right on
Love some Souljah
ur killing it!!!! love the diversified topics :)
thank you! i appreciate that 😎
Man hearing the souja boy intro just takes me back to watching how to be a gangster by Nigahiga. Simpler times
Nice video. Love soulja early music. Love all your other stuff too
A good mix up of our art.
( ¡! )
Great video premise!! Respects to an OG! Hella ahead of his time, and his impact is still felt today!
I still listen to ISMFOF's Crank Dat cover every now and then 😂
Really enjoyed this video!
walked into hot topic today and kiss me thru the phone was playing
What can’t this man do
You should make a video about the rapper Chingy!
I borrowed BAPES from my homie to wear onestage with my screamo band.
Did Soulja say "the forefather of my nutz"! HA. Cozy, you teach me great things about great people!
Let’s go!!!!!!!
So Soulja also was first in the game to do "Reaction Videos" too then........
🤔
A true innovator and pioneer!
This is coming from someone who doesn't know a thing about the rap world, but it seems like Soulja Boy took off not in a stroke of genius, but because he just did what he knew.
He was a kid, who liked rap, and was very knowledgeable and engaged in the internet like many of his age. He combined those elements which struck a chord.
Anything after his first few releases doesn't hit as well because what he started is the standard now. He didn't have much to offer beyond creating that format and genre standard.
Such a great video idea. Keep it up
Another banger from the Cozy Representative
Love it Cozy!!!!!!!
YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOU
cozy x soulja
His best song is "Hey you there." I die laughing everytime
That one is nuts lmao
@@thecozyrep listen to doo doo head or swag od soulja boy was really making whatever tf he wanted lmao
he really was the first viral artist
His song literally sounded like he talked over a created ringtone from a early 00s cellphone. It also sounded like a low wav file playing in a apartment recorded on a cellphone in the same room.
Like he was that that mid 00s aesthetics. windows movie maker. unregistered hypercam, AMVs, videos in 15 fps of people crank that soulja boy, early UA-cam etc
siiickkkk
REAL. TRAAAAAAAP. SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!
You should do 50 cent next
Everyone I know has had a 50 cent phase😂😂 even scene kids
Who else here learned about him from ismfof
*Alexa, play Crank That by I Set My Friends on Fire*

21:20 Is that a cheeky racial slur?
25:57 That too. Why'd you have to say that? What are you really trying to say buddy? 🤔
Bro can barley speak English let alone make decent music
