Mieli Stevens I kinda disagree with the people listing obvious gore classics in the replies. Like duh obviously a gruesome violent title would weed certain people out. I think if you look at a band like cannibal corpse, they had fun with the controversy and were obviously into horror themes and shit, it doesn't seem to me like those first bands were trying to intentionally gate-keep their music; though it did have that effect. Some of the other examples listed in the replies I would consider to be deliberate controversy, which just isn't genuine or interesting in my opinion. If you really wanna talk about gate keeping titles, you could site pretty much any counter culture shit ever. Mozart had a song called Lick Me in the Ass. I definitely see where y'all are coming from with the death metal examples, but also I think this type of this is everywhere in music
After watching over 4 jpeg interviews and now this one, I feel like this is the most resonant of his authentic personality. Booze aside and all, this felt and flowed better than the other ones. 🎉

He showed up drunk, broke a glass, threw up 3 times. I don't know if you are mentally ill or a kid or just slow, but I think Talib did a pretty reasonable thing here.
This series is consistently inspirational. There were so many moments in this interview that made me well up, and so many thoughtful and insightful questions.

Only discovered JPEG recently but honestly he's become easily one of my favorites to the point where I, who usually just stays home and enjoys my cheap audiophile set up and hates crowds, want to see him live. Seeing him interact like this with Talib just felt so sincere and true, and as controversial as his opinions might be, I found myself aligning with them more than not. Was sad to see Hasanabi get banned as he was going to have Peggy on and I really wanted to know more about JPEG's political ideology, but this interview gave me not just that, but also a look into someone who seems like a really nice, genuine guy. All that while having a great time! Will definitely watch this one again and check our more of People's Party
EASILY one of the creative minds that hip-hop is blessed with now. NEVER thought he would come up here tho for some reason. Big ups to Peggy for showing up, and s/o to Jasmin & Talib for hosting this. People's Party keep repping the culture, old & new

@Adapted MC either way we want denzel curry hahaha he is a very introspective person and has always been fun to be around. An interview with him n talib would be outstanding n hilarious
23:50 This whole conversation reminds me of The Cure during 1982. Robert Smith was at his breaking point because of his depression, had a fight with his band mate Simon, and went straight back home in May. Then his father convinced and pressured him to finish the tour because thousands of fans had bought tickets to see the band. So he endured a few more weeks of shows before the tour ended in a huge mess on June 11.
@Umrann Syed Yeah man, Lol was still in the band. He was a bit of an observer watching their relationship deteriorate, although he had his own issues like his mother dying in 1981. The reason why they got into a fight was because Simon was pretty much, according to Robert; Becoming really arrogant and the stereotypical rock n’ roll archetype he hated. Could be because of the drugs, depression, or exhaustion from touring 1981 and recording Pornography, but that’s pretty much how it went down. Like they were at a bar in Strasbourg and Simon was berating this bartender over a drink, so Robert told him to shut up. Then he punched the shit out of Robert and they started going at it. Which was the climax of The Cure’s early days and led to Simon leaving the band for two years, and Robert Smith getting deeper involved with Siouxsie and the Banshees. Lol also stopped drumming, and switched to keyboards. In other words, everyone was a big mess by 1982.

This guy is something else.
I thought muchdank was just playing this man really puked

JPEGMafia is a top tier live performer
*God tier
On god. I saw him in a tiny ass venue.
Peggy goes 100 all out every damn time
Too bad shows in EU got cancelled. Really wanted to see him live.
He's a top tier everything
After watching over 4 jpeg interviews and now this one, I feel like this is the most resonant of his authentic personality. Booze aside and all, this felt and flowed better than the other ones. 🎉
Peggy rocking them Yugi gloves
I've literally been waiting for this interview since I saw the first preview. Aint even gonna lie I dead ass subscribed to the channel for this. Yea I know I'm one of those types
We promise to keep bringing the ruckus. Get hyped for next week!
Went from peoples party to drink champs really quick, great episode.
Big shout out to Talib for even knowing that Peggy exists. If anyone deserves an interview in music today, it's this man.
best JPEGmafia interview out there man, two living legends…
🤣🤣🤣 This was exactly what I needed today. Thank you UPROXX, Talib, and of course Peggy for being such an amazing guest and bring the Party to People's Party.
He said Talib never talked to him again after this
💀
Honestly doesn’t surprise, never really liked Talib
He showed up drunk, broke a glass, threw up 3 times. I don't know if you are mentally ill or a kid or just slow, but I think Talib did a pretty reasonable thing here.
This series is consistently inspirational. There were so many moments in this interview that made me well up, and so many thoughtful and insightful questions.
i've literally just watched or listened to this interview idly for the past 3 days i love it so much lol
Anybody that damn intelligent drunk and stoned breaking glasses throwing up looks like it's time to check out jpegmafia music and this is so cool I didn't even know Talib Kweli have a podcast
Get spaceghostpurrp and Eric Andre on here.... AT THE SAME TIME! lol
The part about Peggy releasing his music as if it’s his kid resonated so much. Amazing interview.
heaps of respect for peggy in the comments for being able to articulate himself while drunk which i feel 100%... But mad respect to Talib Kweli and his people for remaining so patient and understanding throughout this one! That takes some next level inner peace haha
One of jpegs best interviews, and Ive seen almost all of them. Dope as hell
Talib I appreciate your patience on this interview.. especially him throwing up all over the place .. a lot people would of ended it right there
We appreciate having a party at the People’s Party, especially when it is with the very talented JPEGMAFIA. He has earned certain treatment.
UPROXX Video I’m very new to almost never heard of him until this interview, simple fact people’s party staff as a whole and Talib interview him , I learn a lot from this young man and his music , he’s mos def (pun attended) a new breed of MC’ing making true raw statement through his music and in the industry .. he’s just a newer more diverse version of the tribes, roots, dead prez, black star, Kendrick’s, etc and so on and so forth..
not my cup of tea of style of music , but I respect it and salute the message and style he’s giving to us to enjoy ... peace young man, next time have a chaser with that drink ... keep making great body of work

as an alcoholic, this speaks to me
Only discovered JPEG recently but honestly he's become easily one of my favorites to the point where I, who usually just stays home and enjoys my cheap audiophile set up and hates crowds, want to see him live.
Definitely, should have him come back for a 2nd interview! Great interview
Peggy is welcome back anytime!
@@uproxx even with the vomit 😂
EASILY one of the creative minds that hip-hop is blessed with now. NEVER thought he would come up here tho for some reason. Big ups to Peggy for showing up, and s/o to Jasmin & Talib for hosting this. People's Party keep repping the culture, old & new
Jpegmafia with the most peggy interview. Talked about social and racial causes while puking his guts😂
Wait Peggy puking wasn’t just a muchdank edit
Nope LOL . Real life only on the People’s Party
LMAO THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I WAS SAYING HAHAHA, i literally came from muchdank and typed in "jpegmafia throws up interview" and seeing it was real made it so much more raw, now i stan peggyyyy
Damn this may be my favorite interview ever
Well u got good taste
The line “We taking Brooklyn back you can leave the coffee” was actually on his song Williamsburg
Kweli tried so hard to protect Lauryn Hill but i'm not convinced.
Mveli Hlatshwayo convinced of? Convinced of what?
@@swankm9821 on why she's justified on being late or not showing up for shows.
Mveli Hlatshwayo yeahhhh..I get you bro
Same, that shit is so hypocritical
I absolutely agree and I love Lauryn Hill but that shit didn't fly with me.
GREATEST EPISODE EVER 🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾
this the first Peggy interview I’ve seen and the man is normal in real life???
??? when is he not??
His music is pretty much just his normal self times 100.
That was the most casual yet eventful and insightful interview I have seen lol
jpegmafia is the artist we need
Might be the best artist interview I’ve ever seen
damn i feel bad knowing that Kweli literally never spoke to him again after this
Came here for this comment
what happened? i can't find anything
@@lovekaelen Jpeg just put a vid out of him interviewing random people on the street. In the vid he mentions this interview and how he hasnt talked to Kweli since lmao
RIGHT
😔
the fact that he carries lyrical rhythm in the way he speaks, is evidential to how much heart and soul he puts into his music. I love this dude and his righteous anger.
If talib can forgive lauryn hill for canceling shows, he can forgive peg for puking on his show. Have the man back on for round 2
this is one of the greatest videos of all time 🙏
"Hate is more honest than love" - Peggy
this is mad real
i hate that this is true
Loved this episode though. Kweli was more conversational than interviewery! Great content!
This is the best peggy interview hands down, out of everything online right now
IM WATCHING THIS RN FOR THE 2ND TIME WEARING THE SAME HOODIE AS PEGGY. ALSO DRUNK ASWEL. LOVE THIS!!

We need Denzel Curry here. Denzel curry is honestly my favorite rapper right now
Working on it!
Denzel Washington, yes!
@Adapted MC either way we want denzel curry hahaha he is a very introspective person and has always been fun to be around. An interview with him n talib would be outstanding n hilarious

Was looking for this interview specifically for this, stayed for the convo (no skipping)
wow man i dont see interviewers doing this much research before hand thats so crazy. subscribed
That was the dopest interview I've ever seen!
Wow that’s an awesome story. I love cure. 82 was pornography tour? Why’d he and Simon fight?! Lowl was still in the band at that point?
I am from Argentina and I understand a little bit of English but I did not understand completely, beyond that I could understand and realize that this is the best and most honest interview I have ever heard, my blessings to these two huge artists. ☄ 💚☢ ☣ 🇦🇷

GRANDE PEGGY
That last quote was so powerful.
This interview right here is why I love JPEGMAFIA and I found a new love for Talib Kweli, I've never heard of him before in my hole life, but seeing and hearing what he has to say is so real, I love interviewers that keep it so real, the fact that this interviewer said more truth than most people I have so much respect for, Talib Kweli isn't just an interviewer, he's an artist interviewing an artist, not just a random person that doesn't now shit asking random famous person !
I ain’t knew who this was . But he in the people’s party so I gotta listen
thanks for that trust -- we're committed to bringing the fire. As always, kick us your dream guest list.
Consider yourself educated. Man is the shit
17:50 Man I remember every day in middle school there were the kids freestyling over people drumming on the lunchroom tables with pencils. Hip hop is beautiful for the exact reason yall said. There's no price of admission, and anyone can show up with nothing more than a few bars. Everything else is just icing on the cake.
Talib and Peggy have such a great chemistry. Such a great interview.
The absolute best. Whhhhhyyyy did I miss until now. Guess I needed to see and hear it now. God's time!
What made me a fan of Peggy is how humble he moves ✊🏿

Hey, this podcast was real as fuck; I have so much respect for Peggy, as he is honest, straightforward, really down to earth person, who also LIVES for the art and has so much respect for it. This was one of the most enlightening hour and a half of my life, if I'm being honest-
did NOT expect this. I clicked so fast.
