I think you would like Ronnie Milsap - “Smoky Mountain Rain”, “Any Day Now”, “It Was Almost Like a Song” (my favorite), “I Wouldn’t Have Missed It for the World.” Great songwriting and performing.
Oh, and “No Gettin’ Over Me”.
Yes!!!
Don't forget "Pure Love".
YES! To all of those!
Yes!
Guys, you need to react to Randy Travis - he was huge back in the mid 80's. He has that twang that you love. Here are a few to react to: On the Other Hand, Diggin' Up Bones, Forever and Ever Amen. Seriously, you'll love him!! xoxo
I've recommended "Forever And Ever, Amen" before, but no luck so far. I'm betting that if they ever do a reaction to it, they will be holding hands before it ends.
@@Rebelrocker69 We'll have to keep at 'em LOL. I know once they hear him, they'll be like "Why did we never react to him before??"
I love Randy Travis!!
Randy, Garth Brooks and George Straight all started out about the same time. All legends now
"That's my job". By Conway Twitty. Is probably a song that will make both of you cry. Conway way a country super star. He started in rock n roll back in the 50's. Huge huge hit. "It's only make believe." "Lonely blue boy" is my favorite.
"That's My Job" is very powerful. Rob it will bring a tear to your eye.
That was my grandma's favorite song. She's been gone for 30 years but I still can't listen to this beautiful song. I just can't.
And It's only make believe
oh you trying to make them cry, lol.....great song tho
He sang Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man with Loretta Lynn, if you haven't react yet.
Conway was known as “the best friend a song ever had”. He is a legend!
You should try some more of Conway's songs like "Don't Cry Joni", "Linda on My Mind", "Tight Fittin' Jeans", "The Games that Daddies Play" and "I'd Love to Lay you Down". Honestly you can't gp wrong with any Conway Twitty song
Linda on my mind….
Those are great songs and I also love honky-tonk angel and play guitar play
These.
Yes! If you love a story, “Don’t Cry Joni” is a must. I was raised on Conway and I absolutely love him!
''It's Only make believe' and Slow Hand!!! Thank you for checking out Conway Twitty!!!
When it comes to Conway, they call that a “growl”- lots of babies have been made with Conway playing in the background 🤣 my favorite of his is “goodbye time”- his voice is incredible. There is a guy named Glen Templeton who sounds just like him, he even had the honor of playing Conway in a musical about his life- he was chosen by Conway’s daughter to portray him!
OMG Legend!❤ Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man is another duet with Loretta but absolutely worth reacting to also! And It's Only Make Believe is amazing!
Yes!!!!!!
" Its Only Make Believe " is another Conway heartbreaker. The crescendo builds up amazingly.
I think you guys are ready for Don Williams. You should start with Tulsa Time and then Good Ole Boys Like Me. Anything by Don is fantastic.
My favorite country singer, love him
and "I Believe in You"
I'd start with "Rake and A Ramblin Man". :) Either that or his "Good Old Boys Like Me".
YES!! I ❤️ DON WILLIAMS ❣️❣️
@@Rebel9668 I only said Tulsa Time because I figured it would grab their attention since they're from Oklahoma. Can't go wrong with any of his music.
Oh my goodness. This brings back the memory of my dad (now passed) taking my mom in his arms and dancing in the kitchen every time Conway came on the radio. My dad treasured my mother and this just brings tears to my eyes knowing he’s waiting for her in heaven.
That is such a beautiful memory you have. What a blessing. Sorry about your Papa
They used to call Conway Twitty “The best friend a song ever had”
This song still gives me chills every time I hear it. It's a true classic.
Great reaction guys! My favorite from Conway is "It's Only Make Believe". 😁
My mom told me a story about that song. When it played on the radio station that she was listening to after it was done the radio announcer said No folks that wasn’t Elvis that was a new country singer named Conway Twitty!
I also like LONELY BLUE BOY alot
My mama loved this song. When I was a young man in the Army I would come home unannounced, sneak in the house and put this record on and wait till Mama came to see why the music was playing. 😎
Nice job soldier. Fantastic welcome home. Thank you for your service …hooah
He had some risque songs for the day...I'd Love to Lay you Down, You've Never Been this far Before, and others... He wasn't called the panty dropper for no reason. Awesome singer with magnetic stage presence to boot
Panty dropper for sure. If you're in the R&B world, think of Conway as the country Luther Vandross. Or the country Marvin Gaye. He made housewives in curlers and bathrobes want to leave their husbands. If you want to hear one of the greatest - as well as kinda naughty - love songs ever, "Love To Lay You Down."
Yes sir! He came down to a honky tonk back in the day in Alabama and the ladies were leavin bras on the stage. lol 1am in the morning at the local bar and Conway's "don't take it away" came on and you can bet there was some serious belly rubbin going on the dance floor. 😂
If you want to hear some more real old country music that really twangs, try the following:
"There Stands the Glass" by Webb Pierce,
"Movin' On" by Hank Snow,
"Lonesome 77203" by Hawkshaw Hawkins,
"Almost Persuaded" by David Houston,
"Long Black Veil" by Lefty Frizzell,
"Hello Walls "Yellow Bandana," and, and "Four in the Morning") by Faron Young,
"Mama Tried," and "Okie from Muscogee" by Merle Haggard,
"Streets of Bakersfield," "I've Got a Tiger by the Tail," and "Act Naturally" by Buck Owens
"The Only Hell my Mama Ever Raised" by Johnny Paycheck
"White Lightning" by George Jones
"Tennessee Flat Top Box," and "Sunday Morning Comin' Down" by Johnny Cash
"Good Hearted Woman," "Lukenbach, Texas," and "I've Always Been Crazy" by Waylon Jennings
If you want to hear an old country crooner,
check out Ray Price, "For the Good Times"
Such a smooth voice and will make your ears smile!
That's a great song by one of the best songwriters Kris Kristofferson.
Also Heartaches By The Numbers, Night Life?
Just found the page and came here to suggest thevgreat Ray Price as well.
Make the world go away.
My shoes keep walking back to you
One more time
Burning memories
I won't mention it again.
And a version of "Each Time" that was never released, (but UA-cam has video).
I'd also suggest listening to different artists singing the same song.
For the good times has
Ray Price
Al Green
Frank Sinatra
Dean Martin
Elvis Presley
And each interpretation is amazing
The Conway growl was a signature sound. That "country name" was a stage name. Conway was born Harold Lloyd Jenkins. Conway held the record for #1 hits until it was finally broken by George Strait. If I had to recommend the next Conway song, it would be "That's My Job".
I believe he took Conway from Conway, Arkansas.
So, this song came back to me as it played. And I could see my mother on the couch, knitting away and sort of nodding and humming along with Conway. Those memories are the type of thing that is so great about watching you guys react. Thanks.
Same here with my father sitting listening to the radio or watching Hee Haw. That is the great thing about music it gives you those flashbacks and wonderful memories that come with the song.
@@mysteriousmysticalmoments2023 exactly right and well said.
Conway is great! How about reacting to John Anderson...swinging or Seminole Wind....I'd appreciate it!
Don't forget "That's my job" among all the rest already mentioned. George Jones and Conway Twitty are both legends and can't go wrong with either.
Listening to this with yall tonight, gave me the same reaction i have had every time i have heard it. I am a 70 year old woman bawling my eyes out. It is just a heart breaking song. Conway knew how to use his passion for music and his voice just tugs you in like you're watching a movie in your mind. He could make you smile, laugh, or he could make you cry. Thank you for your reaction.
Aw he is so good and country. Y'all should watch Kenny Rogers"She Believes in Me" you will love it.
Another Country Singer Conway RIP, started in Rock back in the 50's !!!!!! His name was Harold Jenkins, the took the name Conway from Conway Arkansas and Twitty from Twitty Texas. Died in 1993 and at the time had the MOST #1 country hits and was only pasted by George Strait almost 20 years after he died.
I remember being very young and hearing my grandma telling me that she would leave everything for the chance to do 'unmentionable things' to Conway Twitty. Ten year old me was somewhat scarred lol
🤣🤣🤣
Oh, dear! 😮😆
Sounds like my great grandmother, she used to always say that Conway Twitty and Burt Reynolds could both eat crackers in her bed any day and she was 83 lol
My mom used to say he could put his shoes under her bed anytime!
I once heard a woman say, "Conway could sing the panties off any woman".
"Does he not make your heart ache?" . . . one of the very best comments ever!!!
A classic 70’s Country artist you’d love is Don Williams. He does a duet with Emmylou Harris that will just melt your heart called “If I Needed You”.
YES!! ❤ DON WILLIAMS!! and of course EMMOU HARRIS!! 👍😃❣️😃👍
Don Williams is amazing. "I Believe In You" and "Miracles" are two great love songs by him.
Great Townes van zant song! “Some broken hearts never mend” is probably my favorite Don Williams song.
GOT TO TRY: "YESTERDAY WHEN I WAS YOUNG" by ROY CLARK, ua-cam.com/video/NEY4LxORCeo/v-deo.html if your getting older, and dont tear up listening to it, then your not human.
"It's Only Make Believe" is the best song Conway did 💕
That is my favorite! What a fantastic song!!
No such thing as a "best" Conway Twitty song
@@clark8712 in my opinion, it was his best. Take care 🙂
@@reneeturner9187 "favorite" is what you're looking for 😁
Absolutely!!!
A friend of mine would always check the bars' juke boxes for his favorite Conway song "Tight Fittin' Jeans". When he finally found it I heard the song for the first time. He said the song was every small town country boy's fantasy. Watching him listen to it I suspected it brought him memories of fulfilling that fantasy. If it did he never said.
If you're going to do country, you've really gotta do George Strait! I'd start with "Amarillo by morning", a more recent song that I like is "she let herself go".... Also I'll put in another plug for Lorrie Morgan. She has old style country and new. A picture of me, and something in red sound old country and I didn't know my own strength sounds newer. She had 40 hit singles so you'll have lots to choose from!
Please do Hank sr I've just told mama goodbye!!!!! And also men with broken hearts!! These songs are the essence of Hank Williams.
For a hard core rocker , I grew up with country, Conway Twitty, Roger Miller, Roy Clark and Hee Haw group( it was a show) . Thank you for the flash back to my father . I do to love the older Country too . Johnny Cash , Loretta Lynn, and Pasty Cline icons.
Roy Clark was so talented, played many instruments and a great guitar player. He was also a kind soul.
Should definitely check out some hee haw clips. Gloom despair and agony on me!
Lisa I'm the same, grew up with everyone you mentioned!!!
Still Looooove old country!!!!
Same here. My daddy played Conway, Charley Pride and Marty Robbins in his old pickup truck.
@@cbdex77 we're not ones to go round spreading rumors.
I have one in this vein that I think y'all will love. *Willie Nelson's "Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain"*. Gorgeous song, and my favorite by Willie.
I still address every note to my wife as “Hello Darling”. Truly a classic!
Michael that’s so beautiful
Not a country fan, BUT, like Twitty and check out Dwight Yoakum, "Fast As You" good country rock.
Just hearing this song reminds me of walking into my grandmother house, hell for some reason I starting smelling cornbread and pinto beans cooking. Great memories of the 70s and to a wonderful woman.
Same here!!! My granny used to make Pintos and cornbread every day and loved herself some Conway Twitty!!! Such great memories to have huh??
🤗💜🤗
Dottie West Country Sunshine
Who doesn't love Conway Twitty? Women find incredibly irresistible.
Conway was a Powerhouse Country singer. My dad , may they rest in peace actually sang with Conway before. So many hits. " It's Only Make Believe " ,
" That's My Job ", " Linda On My Mind ".,
" I'd Love To Lay You Down ", and another with Loretta Lynn " Louisiana Woman Mississippi Man ". So many more greats by Conway. So excited I can't even type. 🤣
It's only make believe is A good one.
Very cool!
"It's Only Make Believe" is from his Rock & Roll career. He sang Rock from 1956 to about 1962.
Wow..that's so Awesome..
I still remember the day Conway died. My mom heard it on the radio. She had to pull over to compose herself.
Not super old but Glen Campbell is amazing! Willie Nelson from over 40 years ago "you were always on my mind". Everytime I hear it i cry. You 2 are sweetheart s!
My favourite memory is hearing him sing "It's Only Make Belief" - so beautiful it will break your heart.
High Priest of country music was what he was referred to as, along with the best friend a song had. The emotion, the deep smooth voice , and Lordy the growl- I'm not impartial he's my favorite Male singer ever.
Touch the Hand, Love to lay you down, I see the Want to, Don't take it away, are a few of my favorite songs,
Willie Nelson - “Funny How Time Slips Away”. The 1965 version.
Ya'll should really listen to the King of Country himself, George Strait. "Amarillo by Morning" is one of the greatest country songs ever. Other good ones are "Get Carried Away," "Check Yes or No," and "Love Without End, Amen."
Have a listen to Don Williams. It doesn't matter which song, they're all good. If you want a suggestion try "good ol boys like me."
All his stuff is awesome. He's a growler. This was one of my Mom's favorite songs. We had it played at her funeral. You should listen to Slow Hand - do a comparison between his version and The Pointer Sisters. That would be fun!
My idea too. LOL. Great minds.
Dont know if it was intended or not, but when Conway was the next show.... It was dark and the curtain was closed, then he said Hello Darlin and the curtain opened whith a spotlight on him. Blew the roof off with the crowd cheering. Good memories. :-)
Oh yesss. You got to Conway Twitty!!! On his own. He was absolutely amazing. Now you have to do "It's Only Make Believe"
The first time I remember hearing this song was on a episode of American Bandstand probably back in the 60s.
I agree with others, “That’s My Job” (Conway Twitty) will have you both crying by the end of it. I choke up thinking about it.
That's My Job is the Conway song that I would highly recommend.
This is one I’ve been waiting for. Try ‘Goodbye Time’ for an example of how amazing his voice is. ‘That’s My Job’ & ‘Don’t Take It Away’ are a few more good ones to check out.
Goodbye Time gets me everytime!
@@glennskinner4181 I can’t agree more!
Years! Don't Take it away!
Back when country was country. I miss it as it seems todays country if more pop then country. I love that this channel covers all types of genres as I like all kinds of music.
Conway is my mom’s all-time favorite country artist. I remember every time his songs came on the radio she would exclaim “Conway Twitty my man!” We hated hearing that lol. But now I look back and just completely love and appreciate his music/voice.
My grandma introduced me to Conway when I was very very young. She set me up to love the old school country. Conway, Johnny, George Jones, Merle Haggard, Alabama, the Statler Brothers, Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynette, Dolly. It brings back good memories of dancing with my grandma when I was little.
Conway Twitty,-(Tight fitting Jeans). Actually any Conway song is a good song. Keep up the good work 😎👍
Dwight Yoakum does great love songs, too. The Mavericks are a good country rock group, too.
As some others have mentioned, try Don Williams also known as "The Gentle Giant" Great songs like Amanda and Good Ole Boys Like Me.
YES!! I ❤️ DON WILLIAMS ❣️❣️
Also Tulsa time
My favorite of the gentle giants is "Lord I hope this day is good".
Check out Merle Haggard and Tom T Hall, true legendary story tellers in country music. Start with Mama Tried.
React to "That's My Job" and bring your tissues.
Honestly the song that can make me tear up everytime by Conway is Thats My Job. Anyone who has lost their dad and can listen to that song without tearing up is stronger than me.
Conway had some power behind that voice...
You gotta do It's Only Make Believe. A true classic.
If you want to hear his Rockabilly side might I suggest. “Slow Hand “ but anything Conway Twitty is amazing
Agreed! Everything Conway sang was great!
It takes a lotta stones to take a Pointer Sisters girl-power song, gender-flip it, and sing it like an old-school player - and then to actually make it work for him. One of the damndest remakes you'll ever hear.
You both need to have a listen to Charley Pride, excellent country singer
Conway Twitty is LEGEND. Over 40 number ones. He and Lorretta the best selling duet in Country music.
Conway could get away with songs others couldn't. Dive into his catalog. My personal favorite is his live performance at the Country Music Awards of Goodbye Time. He put everything he had in a song. I'd Love to Lay You Down, You've Never Been This Far Before will make your jaw drop.
My favorite Conway song is Only Make Believe check it out
As a young child, this song always made my Momma cry, to this day it makes me cry to recall my Momma's pain and I couldn't fix it for her :'(
Conway was a country.heart throb back in the day. We loved hin.
Great reaction! Try Ronnie Milsap - I wouldn't have missed it for the world. A number 1 hit for him in the early 80's.
Yes, Ronnie Milsap doing 'There's no Gettin Over Me'',Amber, dedicate this to Jay..LOL(& vise versa)Luv u two!!😘💞
My mon always says conway twitty could sing the panties off women 😂😂
Conway was a huge star back in the day. Even rivaling Elvis for a few years. In fact if you have ever seen the movie Bye Bye Birdie, the Birdie character was a big music star who got drafted and the girls all going crazy when they heard he was going in the service. Well that was what happened to Elvis in real life, and the characters full name in the movie was Conrad Birdie. A shout out to Conway Twitty. Jay for a song that will grab your Dad feels, y'all need to listen to Conway's "That's My Job." Amber, if you want to hear one that will touch your Mom feels, check out Melba Montgomery singing No Charge. Both about the love and relationship of parents and their kids. Hey, found links for both. Give them a listen even if you don't react. Enjoy! That's my job) ua-cam.com/video/CNlfCGxfTFQ/v-deo.html No charge) ua-cam.com/video/P4TA9_eL3yk/v-deo.html
I was going to mention Bye Bye Birdie but you beat me to it.
@@rachelsides2489 Great minds think alike. LOL!
I AGREE!! 👍❤😃❣️
So glad to hear you listening to this. , when my husband calles me this is his ringtone ! 😍😍
A good but sad song is god's will by Martina McBride it gives me chills I love your videos and they deserve all the praise in the world
Conway was soo good! You should check out his "Lay You Down" There is a love song!
Two of my favorites from Conway are. "That's my Job" and "Goodbye Time"
Yes, Conway Twitty absolutely touches your heart. My dad introduced me to Conway Twitty 's song "That's My Job". I can't listen without tearing up! So special. 💖
It's one of the best! 🥺💝
You describe his heartbreaking sound so well. Another old-time sound country singer and song in a similar vein: Randy Travis singing "Diggin' up Bones" is one of my favorites.
More Please!! "Never been this far before" "Love to lay you down" "Tight fitting jeans" Conway the best!!
George Jones once said "Conway Twitty doesn't sing notes, he sings emotions!"
This is a fact! He could and still can get all of the feelings out there through his music.
Do a react to Loretta Lynn "You Ain't Woman Enough (to Take My Man)". Amber, you're gonna LOVE this one. And do a react to George Jones singing "He Stopped Loving Her Today", I will be nice and warn you, this is another tear-jerker.
They reacted to "He Stopped Loving Her" ~a year ago 😉
Too many good ones by Conway!!! Goodbye Time, Don’t Know a Thing About Love, Don’t Cry Joni, The Rose, Already Loved You In My Mind!! The list goes on and on!! React to more!!!
Please react to thats my job by Conway Twitty
My favorite favorite favorite Conway song (wow, a lot of great ones to choose from) is "Linda on My Mind"! My Daddy raised me in the bar (totally not appropriate) but I am grateful for all the amazing music playing out of that old jukebox. You know, when they still played vinyl 45's and you got like 15 songs for a buck! I would love to hear you 2 do a reaction to this Conway song

one of my all time favorites. I still remember where I was when I heard he died.
I highly recommend you do the duet "Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man". It has Conway and Loretta Lynn...
This song by Conway Twitty is great. I agree, the old country classics are the best compared to newer. Another classic crooner with a country twang and a heart breaker of a song is by George Jones - "The Grand Tour". Might need tissues for that one.
Is "Grand Tour" or "He Stopped Loving Her Today" the bigger tear jerker in the George Jones category? I think it might be close.
I especially like his duets with Loretta Lynn, too!!
"You're the Reason Our Kids are Ugly", and "Louisiana Woman and Mississippi Man", are my favs!!
This is the country i grew up with (thanks to my dad) I don't think the modern country is really country music
It most definitely is not..
try some Johnny Horton if you want to hear someting different
"That's my job" gets me in the feels EVERY TIME I listen to it! You should also do "Happy Birthday" and "Tight Fittin' Jeans" from Conway. Oh! And "Fifteen Years Ago"!
Listen to some Marty Robbins!! But my Daddy’s favorite song was Whispering Pines,,,,, by Johnny Horton!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When my parents divorced my dad actually lived in his van for a little, he was so depressed , he would stay drunk and sleep in his van and Conway on 8track just playing over and over, lol . After 20 years of being divorced my mother and dad got back together, lived out their lives in my grandparents old house they fixed up, catch this , at my grandparents house that had been divorced for 20 years and got back together. My parents and grandparents passed in that same old house. When I hear Conway I hear my dad
try Ernest Tubb Waltz across Texas
"Desperado Love" a great Conway song
Wife here..As a child my Dad's band opened up for Conway Twitty several times...I was truly amazed at the crowd's reaction when Conway would step on the stage and say those two words..."Hello Darlin"..
You need to hear Conway do Rocky Top!
happy birthday, darlin...... tight fittin jeans.... THE ROSE...... all by conway twitty
I love..love..love yall...really do....keep on keeping on...63 year old former marine from south carolina..thanks..
