You can see final results at 11:38 . Assets created by Peter Sekula - www.unrealengine.com/marketplace/rome-fantasy-pack-i . Took me a day and half to memorize the materials and setup the level. Video is about two hours of footage and I spent an extra hour cleaning things up.
what do you mean with memorize the materials?
***** Remembering all the assets and how they align with each other. Basically study all the assets in the pack. Whenever you get one of these modular packs, that's the first thing you want to do. See how everything connects.
Maverick
oooh yeah it makes sense
a 50 unit grid is highly recommended as that's how the pack is built. There are several tutorial videos that help you too!
***** Yeah, I gotten used to keep it on default but I am sure I would saved some time if I put it on 50. Thanks and good work man.
4+ years and still informative! As a new comer to the editor I learned a lot watching this. Thanks!
Awesome! Is it possible that you can make a tutorial for one of your levels?
Amazing! I'm always looking forward to your next video.Thank you for sharing your creativity with us.
Good Job , looks very nice !
Always refreshing to see talented people on UA-cam
Your videos, Maverick, are totally unbelievable! I love your work :)
Is there any chance you might one day do some tutorials?
Amazing, as I've said in some other comments - you're a talented individual keep doing what you're doing!

Awesome!!! 😍😍😍
We need another live stream bro... 🙌🏾
Soon.
Very nice
This is sick I want to do stuff like this when I’m older
You're older now. Get to work. Use Unity. It's easier and C# is better.
love music
Very cool
Have always said an ancient Rome assassins Creed game would be cool, this makes it sound legendary
@Evan , not in Rome but now we have Assassins Creed Odissey ;) nice shot !
Evan // true, but then again, ACB was about Ezio is Rome so I doubt they would do that
Sheer pleasure for the eyes. :-)
awesome!
Está genial! :D
amazing!
This was amazing to watch. It really seemed like it took you so little, but it didn't - It take you an hour to create. Regardless, nice job! I need your help, btw.
awesome
came here for the music mostly :D
good job!!!!
thanks
Очень хорошая работа. Спасибо вам :)
Спасибо и добро пожаловать. ;)
It's amazing and the music makes it better. One question how long have you been working in unreal?
Hey, this was amazing! Did you make the modular assets? And if you did can you do a tutorial?
amo esse canal
8:00 Ha I see this part troubled you a little bit. But very nice work. Legit!
Yeah, I wanted to try and use the pre-built blocks to make it simple but I had to use smaller pieces with precision in order to make things look symmetrical. Couple areas I second guess on this video but the result was decent! Thanks man.
Aye it was decent. No problem.
How do you make the mesh have a slider or dropdown menu for another trim? Great work!
11/10 IGN
Nah too much water
3/10 not enough explosions -ign
You have a real talent ! I'm new, I take 1 minute to place a little cube xD So when I see that, i'm fucking amazed !
I am one of those that just skips to the end and doesn't care about the speed level design. I could seriously spend 5 minutes (maybe more) just going over beautiful details of the scene from cinematographic angles, listening to a story, the artists thoughts and struggles about life. I could come back to the same scene and watch a couple of months later from different angles with time of day changed, but basically with very little work done to change it and watch and listen all over again. Why doesn't anyone do this??? Can you make another channel like this? I am already thinking about doing this myself.
brilliant work dude. but did you make 3d model and assets or you downloaded it?
Dude I just love how you design levels, I tried to do one on my own and it was awfully horrible compared to this beauty.
Love your work
these speed Level Design remind me of titanic movie construction timelapse
you make it look easy (and it is, it's just time consuming to arrange certain stuff)
My God!
O my GOD True Love
One question Maverick: The texture of different parts, you do in the modeling process I imagine, not in Unreal, textured import?
Amazing, so good looking. One thing though, the statues weren't actually all white; they were coloured.
you are the best my friend cooooool
It's awesome..!! I saw it never crash out..
What kind of RAM and what graphic card you use at the working desktop ?
Marousiotis13 In the description
was hoping for ancient rome!!
Maverick du you have and tips how to start doing this kinda stuff. I love design but I suck at it doing it in unreal engine
Hey maveric,
Where do u get ur asssets and materials? Do you buy them or get them from the demos?
Read the description. :)
in the description
Which asset packs have you bought for this?
And which asset packs have you bought in general?
You make the lighting look so easy and quick. Did you just use the one directional light or is there more to it that you didn't show?
I used two.
How do you usually light up your exterior scenes? Have you tried VXGI? Should be good with gtx 1080.
The only problem with this, is many level designers forget that in that time, things were new, like the paving. Just like today, roads and streets are well maintained, and it would've been similar (though to lesser extent) back in those times. However I have to say the patina does make it look sweet. :)
Hi maverick I have a noob qwestion what kind of lighting setup do you use when you are arranging your scenes? I always get "lights need to be rebuilt" every time I nudge an object, probably because of lightmass right?
Maybe a dumb question but how are you selecting the assets so quickly?
would love to know your pc specs.
very smooth work.
To Maverick "Wow love your work very much that make me tried to practice to use this program but I think it to hard for me I was look around in UA-cam like how to make your own character and other but I still hard to understand maybe it too big for me"
Hi Maverick, huge fan. I have a question about how you make your buildings, I see that they are all blueprints and have a bunch of modifiers in the settings. How do you get that? Is it a plugin or something?
Thank you!
It was setup with the Rome Pack. Link is in the description. Was quite handy for sure.
awesome thanks!
Maverick it would be cool if you made your speed buildings into a game so we can run around and see it.
Can anyone tell me after making the level, how can I view into as the final scene as shown at the end of the video?
The only one thing’s missing is the people, like walking or moving around the scene, but overall looks amazing..
These videos discourage me lol but i won't give up. Unreal engine is the most fun ive had in years.
Can you please make a game! I would love to play it! You have so much talent!
Please do! That'd be sick!
YEH! MAKE A GAME PLEEAAASEE!
Jira Jira being a good level designer doesn't make him a game developer
he did not make any of the art. he says so. they just placed items like you do the semis. looks nice tho yes
Level Design is just one piece of the puzzle to make a game.
i allmost fell asleep watching it
As an environment modeler this is amazing to see! But it also makes me cry at how much time went into modeling the assets... Amazing result though :)
I notice that while you worked on the level, all the buildings had a red brick texture. This was changed to a different one with bigger rocks in the final version, is there any reason for this?
Just to show the different possibilities with the materials. They are all setup in blueprints so you can change the material for every model in the map in under a min.
Next up! Vampire - Bloodlines, Santa monica hub in Unreal 4!! Please! :)
name of the song (min 7:20) ? awesome video!
Гений
Is posible export in c4d, maya or elements 3d?
Do you know what software was use to make the models... if so please tell me
did you create the assets as well or get them from another source?
where you get all the prefabs for this?
So much work has been put into it .. its kinda sad that the player will just walk through it .. without noticing much ..and taking everything for granted !!
Could you do a tutorial teaching how to make these blueprints?I am the Level Designer of our developer, and I found very interesting the practicality that these blueprints provides when developing the scenario. We would be very grateful if you make a video tutorial.
he did not create the assets. you will have to ask the modeller www.unrealengine.com/marketplace/rome-fantasy-pack-i
