I remember I had to use my Vahklas to do my swarm dailies, most players put it down but that Vulcan ship war really useful. I also learned to duel grind my swarm dailies with my Franklin and a faction explorer.

Yes, you often need an explorer to help while catching the Franklin up to speed. I used Vahklas, Mayflower, and Then Saladin(not explorer, but good) while I played catchup.

I got my jellyfish at 14 through missions and events.

Yep, that's what I did on my baby account too. I don't know if events have changed for those levels, but I plan to keep an eye out.

at ops25 will have to soft camp so you can get the mats for your horizon from scrapping a max envoy you can get a horizon to about t4 granted you will want to get it to about t6 its worth investing into

Just an FYI some ship cannot be scrapped. Mostly specialty ships

Bontany Bay you will get a full set of plans 2 lvl before you can refine g3 mats. Which are need to build it
Northstar - I've never saw events to earn plans, could have changed in recent events now that I have one via spending money
Jellyfish - I earned about 3/4 of the plans need before the Borg events started. Then didn't see anything for a long time. not even the option to buy. only recently/rarely have I seen events to earn bp.
Frankin - the first event for this ship was before my time so I had no option to finish collecting the bp with out paying. So for the longest time I avoided all research also associated with the ship. I did fine until I need to take on 32 swarms. It should be easier now with the monthly "cosmic clean up" events for new player to get the Frankin with out paying.

These ships do have some funny histories. It was fun going through all the lower ones and considering their use. I got a free jelly on my baby account that is 14, but I had to wait for bps over multiple events.

I am really enjoying the PC game! Sometimes I want to ask you a question - but I don't want to be annoying with too many. I Almost asked you about a ship upgrade where some gas needed in my refinery was the only thing I needed to complete my turas ship upgrade. I figured it out by upgrading my refinery a bunch.

how can you get the north star without paying?

You can usually get it when we have an arc store at the end of an event arc. That will probably be in December for DS9. Otherwise you buy it if you need it before then or skip it.

I didn't get the Northstar, Jellyfish and one or two other low level ships til I was about level 32 so I never used them. They just sit in my ship inventory. My level 45 Saladin is still my best ship. My current Ops level is 37.

Scraping starts lvl 20 at lvl25 it's worth scrapping the others

Congrats! You can get lucky if the timing is right and if an event store pops up at the right time.

jellyfish best to get for free you can get 25 blueprints from missions and the rest in an event store of a battle pass at ops13 with a shipyard of lv12 its the king of G2 ships the envoy is the mid miner i think at least 2 miners is great at ops17 you get a 3rd dock i usually have 2 miners for your dual faction mining and 3rd dock is combat ship you use for hostiles or leave in the base to defend the jellyfish is a decent combat ship and for base defence till you get to ops18 and get the north star that can carry you pretty far into ops26 but i still get the vahklas but dont invest heavy unless you really need to at ops22 you should have a north star and the vahklas cause your franklin gets level locked depends on what faction you chose i dont see a point to the mayflower when you have a vahklas if you are romulan you can get the legion and skip the kumari once i got my legion i didnt really use my north star so i scrapped it and it was i think t7 maybe t8 or maxed the payout at max is not bad lv28 ship i chose the centurion and scrapped the vahklas also got a horizon at ops26 and also a second one at 28 opens a new dock so i went 3 miners for gas ore and crystal and a combat ship i skipped the faction miners and lv32 faction ships the lv28 ship can carry you well to your lv34 faction ship at ops31 got an amalgam con slow at mining but insane warp range and protected cargo and cargo size on specialty ships no brainer get franklin the disco vidar dvor until ops35 when more ships come in this after my experience and huge mistakes i made

Depends on the ship. Multiple miners is a must. Some ships can help with events with multiples, but not always.

You can just not upgrade your Ops.

I started about a month ago. I was hit twice mining for 19 hours because I had to go to work and not baby sit the ship. Any tips?

Definitely want to mine within your protected cargo limits. Anything above is generally considered a free to hit as people can steal your extra resources. You mine while you sleep expecting to be blown up, but you can also run miners when you can shuffle them back and forth.

@@leroosterttv what if I purchased the jelly fish for $50? Assuming I may be hit less with that ship? I just got hit again after mining five hours out of a full day. Three kills while mining In two days. It seems impossible unless I have a really powerful ship. Really frustrating. Also. Is it easy to locate these dudes so I can pull a Liam Neeson on them. Really appreciate the reply I’m new and this learning curve hurts.

Are you mining with a mining ship or a warship? Warships mine super slowly and are almost always kill on sight when caught mining. Jellyfish will help in other areas but don’t mine with it, go take other miners OPC and you can get a lot of resources.
