2:05 For all NASA missions from Apollo, the mission commanders had red bands on the shoulders and helmet of the spacesuit. The red bands indicated who was the mission commander. For Apollo 11, Armstrong was the commander. It would’ve been nice for lego to have the red bands.

That item in the second compartment looks to be a lunar reflector. It's a device made of "cube mirror corners" that let a laser beam to hit and come back to the emitter. Scientists use this co calculate distances to the moon.
