It takes me a long time to install this chip myself but I am confident in what it takes knowing I'm learning from someone as experienced as you. Thank you for this tutorial!
Glad to help. Practice makes perfect
Thank you for the tutorials. Love your videos and soothing voice. Reminds me so much of Emilio Rivera.
Much appreciated my friend. I’m glad you find them useful.
A big middle finger to Nintendo saying we can't do what we want with our consoles with every chip installed.
Keep up the good work! Very nice precision you had, I'll keep you in mind.
Great video. Thanks for posting these!
Thank you. It’s a pleasure!
The first flex is torture to put in place, but using paper tape will help you keep it more fixed.
Another great video, love seeing the lite!
Glad you enjoy it!
Just finally got around to installing the older ribbon version I've had for months yesterday on my lite and this would have been so much nicer to have. Also, my picofly board was dead but not by me, touched up the solder joints around the RP2040 chip and it works great now.
Awesome video. You’ve inspired me.
Спасибо за туториал, не знал, откуда 3V брать, а у вас все подробно описано!
I’m glad the video helped you. Have fun
First comment, I am passionate about seeing others install Nintendo Switch chips, good video
More to come! Thank you for your input.
Amazing video!!! Is there anything you have to install on the picochip before installing anything on the switch?
Would love to get my hands on this, this is the hardest part for me (greenhorn at soldering)
Where can I buy that flex (the yellow)??? the one I have is very bad, the black one
What kind of camera do you use? , it looks great
Do you have firmware for RP2040? Nice video!
Thanks for the video!
Quick question; why is there an additional connector not being used on the mod chip? Its not needed?
And also, these kits from AliExpress seem to come with something that looks like a usb-c connector, thats not needed either?
Everything that needs to be connected is shown in this video?
Hello and thank you. Yes only use what is shown in video. The usb connector is used to upgrade or reflash chip. Good luck on your install.
Where can I purchase the set?
I looked in aliexpress and almost all have the older black model in the photos, I wonder I they send old model
Which one is better? The new one or the old type?
Great video man. Just one question. At 4:56 there is a via under the N in "New Lite FPC" above the GRD print. Does this via not need soldered?
That is not a solder point. That is a via through the cable
@@ilenewright2463 Cool thank you. I'm about to do my old switch lite and through the research I've found many different iterations of everything, I'm just trying to get eyes on as many as I can. The newer stuff looks good and much easier.
@@MlnscBoo I am doing the same tonight after I get home. I have it laying under tha digital scope right now. I tried the original and wasn’t able to get it so I got the revision. I have the cable around the tegra ship soldered in perfectly. I wish you luck as it is harder than they make it look
Can someone clarify. The 2 pads under the a, c, d connector are bridged?
wats the name of the flex cable men an deh mod chip?an cpu cable wat Version is 3 things am asking wpuld gladly help out wit yur answer men.
I sent my switch lite at some shop for modding. The modding failed and my switch now became so hot even after turned off. It also keep draining battery. Do you have any idea why it happen? Now they try to replace the ic chip.
Where can you find that new ribbon cable.. Anybody got a link
I installed the part but don't know what to do next can you help me please
Hello there wayayeo. What's your microscope brand/model?
Sciencescope
Where can I buy the flex I don’t really like the older ones!
Most sellers carry this cable now. Use the usual places
At what temperature do you solder?
X2
240-260 degrees is best.
Where can you buy the chip?
what camera do you use to record the top down like that ?
I think it’s just a microscope so we can get a up close look
hi is rp2040 something different than pico and hwfly? do u have to upgrade original firmware to latest and then mod it? cause i got 16.0.1
for anyone intrested first update ofm to 17.0.1 then solder chip in my case picofly then hats pack and ure done works for me
I just did mine twice because fucking flex pain in the ass with bad sizes and I got it anyways... And now I'm watching this video with way better flex, shit hahaha
Good day, what kind of flux you are using? And what if it is not properly cleaned?
I Use amtech no clean flux.
What iron tip is that
sir, what setting temperature did you set up for solder? setting to 350 - 400 it ok?
Yes that range is good.
I have never done these specifically, but have done a fair bit of microsoldering.
Anyways, that aside... I've seen modders mention on these types of install videos that those ribbons are quite sensitive to heat... suggesting no more than about 300C. I'd probably split the difference, and run my iron at 325C.
@@brandonkickyou are wrong, 350 is minimum you’d want. 400 for larger ground pads.
Hello , What microscope do you use?
Eakins microscope
All my solder points look good but now I have no power :/
Check for shorts. Check pints you solders make sure they are not grounded
i am having an issue where it doesn't boot the lights come on but it is one blue followed by 6 yellow lights. Has anybody had this issue before?
It’s most likely a soldering problem. Check all connections with multimeter. Good luck.
hello sir, what kind of flux do you use?
Any amtech flux is good.
Is there a link or place you recommend to buy these modchips?
Amazon is where I got mine
AliExpress
1 chip 10€
I got mine off AliExpress, but they're everywhere when you look
Are you plugging it in via usb-c at the very end to get it to initiate the glitching?
Yes. Plug in to a regular amp meter so you can see the activity. Based on the chip LED and amps drawn you can tell if it’s installed properly. Good luck on your install.
@@Wayayeo thanks for the response. Do you have the usb coming from a computer or a power block? Does it matter? Tried it to my computer and unfortunately no blinking for me.
who know where can I buy the mod chip form sw lite?
Hm. AliExpress? eBay?
Reg fidio next step install file
bros like 33 mins away from my house lmao can i just drop off my switch oled and how much would it cost to install my mod chip
Google wayayeo repairs and get in touch.
which tip are you using here? thanks
Looks like a small knife / blade edge tip.
Medium small chisel tip would probably work best for this, or even a hoof tip / J shape tiped.
@@brandonkick Is the Hakko T18-D24 tip a good pick?
@@antoncapybara4067 for a good geneal purpose tip? Thats an excellent choice.
For thick heavy ground planes on multi layer boards? Probably not enough thermal mass. A knife edge is great for that.
That D24 and a K blade are just about alll youd ever need. Maybe a bent conical for tight quarters very fine pitch work.
@@brandonkick I meant for this modchip installation. I'm a novice at soldering, so I want whatever is easiest.
