Love the design and the grind quality. Perfect for people who want a consistent grind for various brewing methods but don't want to count the clicks. I think my only complaint on the fixie would be when comes to a very light roast it is significantly more fatiguing compares to my other hand grinders (same roast and same amount). It also takes significantly longer to grind through the beans. Not sure why since the fixie has the largest burr amongst all my grinders. But besides this, it's a capable grinder with outstanding performance!
Just bought my second Fixie (have my first to a friend in London! He bought me lunch) and i noticed the top knurled nut looks like it aluminum instead of steel. (Was the original steel?) It looks great, can't wait to try tomorrow.
He lives in London and didn't have easy access to buy his own. And I love your products, (I have an OG Lido as well) so didn't want him to suffer with an inferior product! @@orphanespresso
form factor and weight are the concern for travel, but performance cut shape for flavoring and the fines still the key of the burr geometry, keep up all the great works, to let go some of the key function may be a heart breaking, looks forward to order… good luck.
We use the same stable bearing/axle/burr alignment on the Fixie as we do with all our other grinders, so there is no loss of precision in the grinding with the Fixie! Makes great coffee!
Super cool product! I have a few questions 1. Is it a stepless, or stepped adjustment system? If stepped, how precise is the adjustment mechanism? 2. What’s the capacity of the grinder? Looks fairly small compared to other grinders.
It has infinite adjustment (stepless) BUT it's done using physical spacers so you could consider it stepped. It can be as precise as you want - full details in the info here: www.oehandgrinders.com/Fixie-Manual-Coffee-Grinder-_ep_56-1.html Capacity - 30 grams. It is also only 330 grams in weight (138 grams of that is the burr set!)

The trim looks really good!

No, it was always aluminum, but with black anodization :) You're good friend!!!

What is the diameter of the body (where the carbon fibre is)?
Thanks,
The carbon fiber hopper is 1 3/4" in diameter (46mm)
@@orphanespresso Thank you so much. Sorry to bother but can you give the internal diameter of the catch cup?
@@soupappreciator8977 The catch cup is 51.75mm ID
Does the handle collapse or detach?
Detach - spin the nut on the top off, remove the handle and stow it in the bag!
