@@TylerO_O. was always tempted to get a guided system but never got round to it. Was just awful at first using whetstones but glad I stuck at it. Diamond stones would be cool but I’m just sticking with my regular ones from the supermarket for now

I wondered if , now that you've had them for a while, do you prefer the Cicadas Wing. , to the Slasher ? I noticed the former has displaced the latter, in compilation videos .
For myself I have enough surprisingly good knives to turn this into a novel, but the Qubit is both the biggest , and conversely, one of the smallest , of them .
@@dougwinchester4963 hey, haha yea it was a fun suggestion and managed to bring up a few ideas in my head I didn’t expect to come across, so thanks for that. Have a few other similar ideas for future videos.
Also really waiting on a few things to arrive, as I’ve mentioned before there’s a cyclone/typhoon going on around China that’s grounded a lot of flights coming our way. Got more sharp things in S90V coming through.
Regarding the slasher and the cicadas wing, they are so far apart in terms of all their specs I couldn’t really compare them at all, although it would be easier to say that moving forward the cicadas wing might get more pocket time just due to its small size, also I really want to see how the paint holds up as well as the steel. The slasher is just amazing and will get its turn in due time, but it definitely is a pocket hog. That is one big old slab of marbled carbon fibre.
Since we are talking about knives, do you have any off the top of your head that you could put in your top 5? Do let me know, would be interested to hear
I meant to add , one knife that has both exceeded expectations, and the opposite of that , is the Raccoon. The Alt was a pleasant surprise, and the detent of both bar lock models (as well as Vosteed's customer service), was a disappointment . Easily fixed , and they do still live here , but the initial impression , once tarnished , was not so readily made right .
@@Archetype_EDC been out of town, and wanted to look my toys in the eye (pivot) . As for pocket time/users , the Civivi Brazen tanto damascus, Kubey Tityus (the cheap all black one with better action than the nicer tiger stripe titanium one) , Vosteed Nightshade (numbered edition 038, Elmax) , and the Divo Mash V2.5 and Growler V2, both 154CM and CF , would be my top five do anything, carry anywhere, favorites. My absolute favorites, special occasion, "nicer" knives, would be the Kizer Huntsman (not a great user , but gives me the feels) , the Tuya Scaphoid, any of a few Twosun titanium/CF inlaid knives, particularly the TS473, TS226 , and TS380 , (all candidates for frequently carried as well) , the Kancept Fenrir, ( incredible slicer that took off the end of my right index finger quicker than a blink) , and my "if I designed a knife" knife, the Manganas Steel Caimano, another insane slicer . The latter two are carried less frequently than I would like, due to the dangers of such absolutely sticky sharp knives cutting through anything, with a touch . Before I hand them to anyone, I caution them, if it touches you , it HAS cut you, whether you feel it immediately, or not . Bandaids are in the medicine cabinet, help yourself. It inspires caution. I could list favorites in any of a dozen categories, and I've left off anything not owned at least a few months , to eliminate the "honeymoon period", (how unfortunate would that timing be ?😉) , but there's the quick list . I find that I now know my tastes , and can usually weed out desirable appearance, from those which will see perennial pocket time , and buy accordingly. I don't own any "never cut or carried " knives . They are all subject to whatever use I see fit . I have carried a pocket knife since I was 8 years old, but only began actively looking into steels , design, etc , about 3-4 years ago . I had no idea there was such a bottomless rabbit hole awaiting, after looking into the purchase of a larger sized folding knife . BTW , that gateway larger knife, was the Civivi Conspirator, my first knife larger than 2" , first button lock, flipper , and coated blade . It is still a frequent carry . I was , and remain , hooked . That was thought provoking . Thanks .
I am now continuously thinking of knives I should have included (Qubit , Predator , and about 100 more ). Oh well , can't list em all .
@@dougwinchester4963 Its ok no need to list them all 😂, was just wanting to know what ones you were currently favouring. The repeat mention of the Qubit seems to be a sign that its a favoured one at the moment.
I currently have my eye on the Bestech Lito, if you havent seen that maybe check it out if you want, something thats ridiculously thin again as usual, my new obsession. On a quick side note, it will be funny for me to tell my experience with Vosteeds customer service, it wasnt so much poor as just mind numbingly stupid.
A simple request to add a new shipping route to a region they already have 4 countries on their shipping list (including Singapore which where you cant even carry knivesl) and I was met with the most confusing set of replies. Other companies like Bestechman (and a bunch of other ones) added the country im currently residing in to their shipping list in 40 minutes, but anyways enough about that 😴
Not going to reply to everything you wrote otherwise we will have to start putting them in the forms of emails lol, but I did read everything you put down and will be checking out all the models in due time

An uncoated option would have definitely been a good idea
