@ had to look into it a bit and not sure if it’s fully counted as a digivice by the community? Idk the video I found about it called it the DV 20th I think
I was lucky enough to be into fusion/Xros wars when I was in middle school and it was airing. Was able to save up gift cards and buy a Japanese Xros loader off Amazon back then. It's so sick
Haven't been able to watch any videos in a while. Always love coming back to a plethora of awesome digimon/Karm videos to binge. Hope everyone has a happy holidays!
Digivice 01 was always my favourite for as long as I can remember - something about it being so close in design to the original Digivices and yet feeling like a cool evolution, plus the added practicality of having it on the wrist. I remember an OC I made back in middle school who was partnered with a V-dramon and had a Digivice 01, I guess I was just really hard on that V-Tamer train at the time xD
I would love that in a new Digimon show, giving each Digidestined a Digivice that takes on a different form. Goggles, Watches, Necklaces, A Book, Phones, A Belt, Gloves, Classic V-Pet & the Digivice with the Card slide scanner. Like, the Digivice that scans the upgrade cards could also be a deck box like the ones you talked about. Or even a Digivice that is a handheld crystal ball (a cheeky reference to both Wichelny, and Pokemon’s Pokeball). I think the Digimon Twin is my personal favorite. I also love it when there are multi generational digidestined. Having adults, teens, and younger children all being active digidestined is really compelling.
I have a mixed history with digivices stole the digivice that was from d3 from ToysRus as a child and got in trouble after getting away with it when I asked for batteries for it
8:48 For the D storage not have colors, If they are not going to have technical in them, they could make that circle plate removable so you can put in one with the right color and a sticker of a the corresponding partner. (basically how you can remove the metals from the mighty morphing ranger Morphers) Of course this requires them to sell Additional circle ring, or have Multiples come with the deck, but I would pay Extra if it came with it
A touch screen digivice has so much potential for an anime. I know Kizuna kind of did it, but also make it so the menus can pop up like a hologram. Sort of like the D-arc. That would be really cool. Or make it like the Flip Z, where it can fold into a more handheld device.
I always wanted a wrist mounted D-Arc basically take the D-Arc from Tamers and Mix it with the Digivice 01. Both of those have to be my favorites but points to the Liberator Digivice. They had more color personally but they're still cool.
I always loved Digivices that were more bulky, like the ones from Adventure-to-Savers. I'm a sucker for that kind of futuristic technology that isn't the slim, flat-screen, holographic design. I think that's why I miss that kind of tech from the older Pokemon games as well. I know it's possible for Digimon to canonically be in your phones and stuff, but idk, having a separate thing as a Digivice or a thing where your Digimon can hide in, and not in a place where it can mess up your documents and things, seems better to me. But now I'm rambling... XD
When I was a kid I wanted the D-Terminal to be my digivice lol; kind of like your comment on flip phones, I liked anything with a clamshell aspect to it. My ideal digivice these days would probably look like a pocket watch or makeup compact
The digivices that are goggles remind me of the oculus. Like when they put it on that’s when they c all the menus and the gloves help navigate them and perform actions.
In some of the video games we don't really get to see the Digivice, so I have a bit of a headcanon that some of the protagonists there actually use some of the 'toy only' ones. Like how Mameo from Digimon World 1 most likely has the Digital Monster V-Pet Ver 1 - 5; but don't really know that for sure. And Akira probably has at least 1 Pendulum, but more likely has 3; And conversely I also like to think what protagonists for some of those toys could look like. In fact, that could be a fun "what if" scenario for an art video. Have each artist pick an unused v-pet/digivice and come up with a protagonist and partner digimon or two.
I always liked the digivices that look like Smart Technology, but my favorite has to be the goggles of the Cyber Sleuth games especially since they feel like more futuristic VR headsets.
Dude seriously how haven't they done a vpet app? Then let it have connectivity with the next diginon world game, if we ever get one, and let us take our Digimon with us. They could even sell like a wrist mounted phone dock in the shape of a Digivice 01.
Honestly, at this point, they should just rip off Pokémon Go. No, seriously, think about it for a second. The basic concept of Pokémon Go is _perfect_ for a Digimon game. Switch it up from Safari Zone catching mechanics to battling and code scanning like in the Digimon Story games, make the care aspects a more prominent part of the game and throw in that NFC reader stuff from the Vital Bracelet.
I'm always so bummed about Seekers not being super popular. I absolutely _love_ Seekers and I really wish it had a translation that was as good as the Liberator Debug series. Because it's honestly one of the absolute best Digimon series of all time.
I agree, the VIBES of Seekers and the story is actually probably way stronger than Liberator but the release, bad formatting and translation job and length of each chapter probably killed not only Seekers but the last hope of the VB. Feels real bad.
Honestly, adding to the thoughts about the D-Storage, I would have loved it if they even just included swappable rings! Maybe they couldn’t do electronics, but imagine you just like…pop off the middle piece and replace one with different colors to represent the various partners of the comic. Yeah it’s simple, but it would make it more interesting and more customizable! They could even sell rings of various colors not in the comic to make it feel like you really have your OWN Digivice instead of replicating a show one. Also, great video as always Karn.
Never really noticed that there was an actual digivice in Cybersleuth Now that you point it out, sure, there it is lol. But it's very subtle The way it can be whatever kinda feels like the especial mega keystones some NPCs use in pokémon X, Y, ORAS and the Alola games. Cool detail!
12:29 that image is actually Tyrannomon, as it represents the beginning of the franchise where Tyrannomon was the main Agumon champion on the Version one V-pet, so I assume the three Digivice’s linking in that shape is meant to grant unity for the digital world, probably would’ve debuted a Mega Tyrannomon BEFORE 2024 if it had come out lol
The Zero One Digivice has a spot in my heart because I always loved wrist-based devices, specially in Tokusatsu media (Wish Kamen Rider got on that but oh well, belts for days). But phone-devices like the D-Cyber are also raw, I just wish the "inner" phone part looked way more advanced or "fictional", as best I can put it. Like the holographic menus of the D-Arc.
I'd love to see art of what the other Cyber Sleuth duology characters used as their Digivices. Ultimately I just imagine most of 'em having different colored versions of Nokia's phone (I love how half of it is a hologram, by the way, that's such a neat design), though I would imagine Erika's would have been related to her Memetan devices.
When I was 11/12 I drew a wrist based digi vice that had a similar design to the D3 but rounded for the wrist band/strap to molded into, and instead of having a partner Digimon you gained digi-DNA and could "digi-morph" into a human/Digimon fusion..... It was weird and ironically before Frontier did the same sorta thing.
On Re:Digitize, not only do we have the arm-mounted Digivices of Taiga and Niko, Rina is shown with a smartphone Digivice during the Demon Lords arc. On Next, I have a bit of a correction. The Digimon Twin do not come from Next, Next adapted them into Digivices but the actual V-Pets existed already. In fact, I distinctively remember fandom fights (it's been a long while, can't even remember what forum, probably With the Will?) where people would refer to the Twins as Digivices only for others to come and correct it since they were just V-Pets and there was no reason to believe they'd ever be Digivices...until, of course, it happened.
Having recently gotten into the new Digimon card game, I'd love to get my hands on a replica of the deck boxes from the webcomic. I'd probably also paint it to match Veemon and 'S colors too, since my main deck is based around those two.
One idea for a Digivice is maybe make it an app like for the Digimon Capture program installed on their Digivice in Cyber Sleuth. It could even tie in to a V-Pet mobile game that could be released alongside the media running with it.
We've got circuit boards in smartphone, tablet, and smart watches so we might have ourselves a possibility. Just need a way to input the Digimon from the cards to the digivice for the Digimon liberator like image recognition.
I love the digivice in the games Digimon world they have a farm setting where you can store Digimon in farm for the Digimon to stay and train is so cool
Actually, I think the D-Storage toy/deck-box doesn't have LEDs for a practical reason, not for the creation or usage of it, but for official play. If it had lights on it, they'd likely make 6/7 different versions with lights based on the different colors in the game, since Pteromon's ring is green, like Shoto's deck theme, and Shoemon's is yellow, like Arisa's. This would then cause issues if someone brought one of these to a tournament since, if they matched the box to their deck, the opponent would gain knowledge of your deck before the game began. And, while you could use an unassociated color, it'd then become a weird mind-game using out of game knowledge that'd still lead into an unfair advantage. It actually kind of reminds me of some issues other TCGs had, like Yu-Gi-Oh's Sword Soul token incident. Unrelated: Thank you for reigniting my interest in the Digimon TCG! I'm getting one of the newer boxes for Christmas and recently decided to read through Liberator (comic) and it's been really good so far! I've stopped just before Episode 9 (why do they call them episodes??) because I want to wait for both parts to be out beforehand.
I think the reason there's no V-Pet app is simply because merchandise. If they did release one, I feel like it would get minimal, if any updates so they can keep selling is physical V-Pets & Digivices...or just sell other Mons as micro transactions, Oh boy $10 for a colored Agumon sprite! Edit: Also, favorite Digivices is the iC and Burst. Love the more minimalist design, plus the whole Digisoul Charge thing is peak.
I don't think the glare would actually stop up from making transparent technology. I mean I remember back in the 90's when touch screen technology was still in the very early stages of development where people said "That's never going to catch on because of the finger prints on the screen." and yet here we are now where most of our phones and IPads don't have any actual physical buttons anymore. What's really stopping us from making transparent technology is that the way screens currently work the screen itself isn't actually what projects an image, there's a circuit build, wires, a black back drop which is what you see when the screen is off, and a bunch of lights that make up all the different pixels. In order to make transparent technology we'd essentially have to completely change exactly how screens work. We technically can already do this to some extent, I mean all you need is a piece of glass or transparent plastic and hold it at an angle above your phone screen but obviously the problem here is the image you're seeing is a reflection that is now backwards. ANYWAY... I don't really think there is much of a difference between a V-Pet and a Digivice. If it's an electronic toy with a pet on the screen then it's a V-Pet, it doesn't need to have all of the functions of the classic V-Pet to be considered a V-Pet in my opinion. And the only defining factor for it being a Digivice is for it to actually appear in some form of media as a Digivice. But the two are so close to be the same thing that even if it's never been officially used canonically as a Digivice like those original Brick V-Pets, that is the original Digivice in my opinion even if it's really only retconned to be a Digivice because of the Anime cause they really weren't called that yet.
My favorite was the one from digimon frontiers I always loved the fact that you could see the spirits in it and it is a shame they didn’t give the spirit’s a personality they miss the chance to make the digi spirits able to talk through the digivices and comunicste with the kids through them, if I was to reboot frontiers I would make it that the digi spirits are digimon partners that can posses their tamer’s body and transform with the digimon taking over and be able to talk to their tamer using the digivice to give them advices and stuff.
An idea I had that I doubt would happen is something that the Humans have on them becoming their Digivice(I know Frontier did that with phones but they all look the same), for example if someone had a tuner on them it becomes their digivice while retaining it's normal functions.
13:15 I'm a bit confused about what I am. I was born in the 80s, but too late for me to have any memories of the decade. Can you help me on that? Am I an 80s kid because that's when I was born, or am I a 90s kid because that's when my earliest memories are from?
I think the reason there's not a Digivice app is because they fear it would affect toys sales. "Why buy a toy digivice when you can instead download the app?" Or something like that, seems like a dumb fear to have but you never know with these executives >_>
@ generally in that puzzle game, only JP and China servers get the good stuff like marvel and Disney, half the games community thought the rest of the world wasn’t getting digimon collab. If anyone other than JP and china servers get a collab that means the rest of the world gets it too! Just at different release dates
what we need is a game digivice, a nintendo switch of digivice. scratch that we need a beyblade digivice gatta let it rip to digivolve your digimon, no wait persona digivice its A GUN AND YOU AIM IT AT YOUR HEAD!!!!!
I’m gonna be honest: smartphone style Digivices bore me because design wise, smartphones are BORING. they’re just thin rectangles without much to look at
I'd love to see historical digivices. Like have a character who became a digidestined in the 80s have a beeper or something.
YES!! I'd love a Digimon season set in the 80s!
What’s really fun about this video coming out now is my friend just got me my first Digivice for Christmas
Nice!
Now you're officially a digidestined!
Congrats!!! Which one did they get you?
@ had to look into it a bit and not sure if it’s fully counted as a digivice by the community? Idk the video I found about it called it the DV 20th I think
That ain't your friend. That's an avatar of the Digital World disguising as your friend and you've been chosen as a DigiDestined
My favorite digivice is the Xros Loader, hands down.
If I could find one for cheap, I'd buy it in a bloody heartbeat.
I was lucky enough to be into fusion/Xros wars when I was in middle school and it was airing. Was able to save up gift cards and buy a Japanese Xros loader off Amazon back then. It's so sick
Xros wars or hunters? They have some set difs. Me, Xros wars Xros loader.
@@seich-of-lacan-getter514 Xros wars. The red Taiki one that came with the holyangemon digimemory and I got the carrying case he has for it too
@@braydenfuller3511
Me too but sadly mine doesn't work anymore cause one of the coils broke off from battery corrosion
@brockh624 RIP. The wheel on mine worn down, so now it's super sensitive to any touch which makes it hard to do anything on it.
The Nokia jump scare gets me every time 😂 it's so good!
Haven't been able to watch any videos in a while. Always love coming back to a plethora of awesome digimon/Karm videos to binge. Hope everyone has a happy holidays!
Aww thank you, welcome back!
My favorite part of the D-arc, the plasma whip Ryu used on Cyberdramon

My favourite Digivice is the Appli Drive DUO. You don't get cooler than that, it's so flamboyant in a good kinda way :D
Yay, finally! A Digivice video! Its been so long since Karn did one!
THESE bro. I was always into the fine details of digivices and this video REALLY took me back. Karn you STAY killin it my man.
Thanks! Will do!
On the third day of Christmas Karnie gave to me: Digivices not seen in anime
Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas and happy new year!
I would love that in a new Digimon show, giving each Digidestined a Digivice that takes on a different form. Happy Holidays Karn. Your right Goggle Digivices would be cool.
Happy holidays!
13:18 1993???
WE ARE ON THE SAME AGE???? WOW, HELL YEAH ROOSTER KIDS
I have a mixed history with digivices stole the digivice that was from d3 from ToysRus as a child and got in trouble after getting away with it when I asked for batteries for it
😂
Thanks for this.
Merry Christmas.
Same to you!

I'm the exact same as you I love the D3 and the D ark.
I even do card slashes in secret to this day

I always wanted a wrist mounted D-Arc basically take the D-Arc from Tamers and Mix it with the Digivice 01. Both of those have to be my favorites but points to the Liberator Digivice. They had more color personally but they're still cool.

The digivices that connect together might be a good way to give human characters a secondary digimon partner.
One of my favorite parts of the digimon franchise is the unique Choices of Devices
Gotta be the Cyber sleuth Goggle digivice, multiple digimon, the ability to use Digixros(Nokia with her digimon), and phone functions!

Agreed!
Frontier was my first Digimon anime, so im partial to the D-Tector!

The D-arc and the on from Frontier are still favorites
15:57 is it just me but why is the hair glitching
Never really noticed that there was an actual digivice in Cybersleuth
Now that you point it out, sure, there it is lol. But it's very subtle
The way it can be whatever kinda feels like the especial mega keystones some NPCs use in pokémon X, Y, ORAS and the Alola games. Cool detail!
It's suuuper subtle yeah haha
12:29 that image is actually Tyrannomon, as it represents the beginning of the franchise where Tyrannomon was the main Agumon champion on the Version one V-pet, so I assume the three Digivice’s linking in that shape is meant to grant unity for the digital world, probably would’ve debuted a Mega Tyrannomon BEFORE 2024 if it had come out lol

Gotta love a good digivice.
Also Happy Holidays
Happy holidays!
we need to get that V-Tamer Digivice as a toy guys..
I own the seekers Digivice but only because herrissmon is my favorite digimon and it's line was on the Loogamon dim card
Hopefully you can the d cyber eventually as I know how it feels waiting for one as not long ago I finally got my digivice burst
I'd absolutely love a digivice 01its almost gauntlet like and I would love like a full gauntlet digivice
We need the Digivice 01 as a real thing like how we got all those Omnitrix toys in the past.

Omg. I want Ken's Digivice so bad.
We've got circuit boards in smartphone, tablet, and smart watches so we might have ourselves a possibility. Just need a way to input the Digimon from the cards to the digivice for the Digimon liberator like image recognition.
On a side note, my favorite Digivice is the Digivice Burst
I love the vital bracelet as a digivice.
It literally connects the mon w. The tamer.
I love the digivice in the games Digimon world they have a farm setting where you can store Digimon in farm for the Digimon to stay and train is so cool

Unrelated to the digivice, but it's kinda crazy they used Taichi in many of Digimon series
I miss having a digivice
13:15 I'm a bit confused about what I am. I was born in the 80s, but too late for me to have any memories of the decade. Can you help me on that? Am I an 80s kid because that's when I was born, or am I a 90s kid because that's when my earliest memories are from?
If you're born late 80s you're probably a 90s kid
@Karn_EX OK. Thanks. That's what I hoped, really.
So are the physical digivices like v-pets or more like the toy pokedexs
@Karn_EX The Digivice 01 reminds me of the Omnitrix from Ben 10
Honestly as someone who grew up with digimon, and who has two SCSA and an anniversary digivice… God I wish digimon were real…!
Facts haha
I think the reason there's not a Digivice app is because they fear it would affect toys sales.
"Why buy a toy digivice when you can instead download the app?"
Or something like that, seems like a dumb fear to have but you never know with these executives >_>
I watch this video 2 minutes after it came out
Love that, thanks!
@@Karn_EX it's funny cuz my power went out the moment it was on the video showed up
Transparent tech would be HORRIBLE for privacy and stuff.
That too!
A constant? Idk. The next movie for Adventure would have to beg to differ after the way 02 The Beginning ended.
Everytime i see Terry bogard in your opening i always think you also need to talk about fighting game
I will do on Karn Ultra :)
2:58 one of this thing is not like the other.
Puzzle and dragons HAS A DIGIMON EVENT NEXT MONTH IN NA!!
Sadly I ain't in NA lol
@ generally in that puzzle game, only JP and China servers get the good stuff like marvel and Disney, half the games community thought the rest of the world wasn’t getting digimon collab.
If anyone other than JP and china servers get a collab that means the rest of the world gets it too! Just at different release dates
Hi karn it’s me Adrian
😮😮
The best ones are the ones that have Gabumon
what we need is a game digivice, a nintendo switch of digivice. scratch that we need a beyblade digivice gatta let it rip to digivolve your digimon, no wait persona digivice its A GUN AND YOU AIM IT AT YOUR HEAD!!!!!
I thought the digivice of the cybersleuth games is an implant? We never see them physically use them.
Nope. We do! As I show Nokia uses hers during Omnimon's appearance.
Hey Digimon is a multiverse maybe in some unseen universe those are the digidestined digivice
For me season 3 had the best ones. Then season 2.
Flip phones woo!
Is it just me or is the top of karns head glitching and wiggling
Check the text next to my head :)
Oh my bad lol👍
13:48 sell your soul
Already done
Any one else notice the screen tearing at the top of the video
Look to the right of my head
@Karn_EX hahaha okay my bad
I’m gonna be honest: smartphone style Digivices bore me because design wise, smartphones are BORING. they’re just thin rectangles without much to look at
Happy Holidays!
And to you! Thanks for all your support
