I think this film is a masterpiece. No joke. It's lightning in a bottle like Empire or any of the first 3 Indiana Jones movies. Gremlins 2 is great in it's own way, but doesn't quite scratch the itch of a real threat for the tension I got from the first movie. Studio notes worked for once for me.
just started checking out your channel, loving the content so far, the return of the jedi series was great and was super excited to see you'd be doing gremlins next
Gremlins was essentially Dr Jecklyl and Mr Hyde done as a creature horror film. A nice touch. The film is fundamentally an anti- christmas movie and a subversion of small town tropes.
🎼Do you hear what I hear? The new breed of lovely content Got into the series with the Alien3 vids and then the Star Wars sets and love the channel! Subscribed
I feel as if we give directors who have been a part of making masterpieces too much credit when they speak, cause a lot of them spew pure marketing pablum, especially Spielberg. Like when he discusses how there had never been anything like the script for gemlins…despite the fact that adorable little puppet anamatronic who take over
Gremlins original script sounds like a George Romero film: Dawn of the Mogwai. I like the idea of Gremlins eating Mcdonalds. Well eating at Mcdonalds...

god, gremlins 2 the new batch might be my all time favorite movie ever. The first one is special as a comedy horror too though

That Hard "R" version sounded awesome! But water under 25-degrees Fahrenheit is ice...unless he meant Celsius
You killing it!! Give us more!
More on Friday with Gremlins 2 and then the Planet of the Apes 1968 classic the following week.
I'm a fan of Hoyt Axton's music, so it came as a surprise to see him in this movie when it first came out, as I never knew that he was also an actor.
For once i'm very pleased that the script was changed.
I don't think I've watched Gremlins since the 80s. I loved it at the time. I'll have to revisit it.
still soaked in horror, kitchen & chainsaw scenes for sure

Not a fan of Red Dawn but I just saw it 2 years ago and it does not hold up.
it didn't hold up then, either
Tosh and Tommy rot!
I’m so glad they changed the script. This doesn’t feel like a wonderful Spielberg dark comedy at all.
I agree, it's amazing how it evolved to Spielberg's vision.
