    His advice blew my mind!!!! I never thought about doing that through Instagram. I thought about having people shout you out. But wow, searching your location and seeing who is near by and offer them a free meal. That can change your business with just one right person coming by.

    It doesn't matter if she was getting it; what matters is did you get it? And if you did, follow through. People are missing the entire point of all Gary's videos. These are to help you, not ridicule and criticize the receivers.

    This was honestly one of your best videos Gary. I could see you really cared and wanted to genuinely help that lady. You can hear she was struggling to answer some basic questions about her business and you gave her some really straightforward answers she could apply.
    High 5 G!

      She's so not into it. I mean, Instagram.

    • @instantsiv
      @instantsiv 7 років тому +3

      AuthenTech - Ben Schmanke Gold consulting? He tells her to down size but she can't because if she does she won't make any money and is stuck flipping burgers instead of running a business. So then he suggests she gives out free food in the hopes someone famous comes there... Basically buy a lotto ticket. That was horrible advice imo. Her team needs training, optimized operations, and locations. Once the other trucks are self sustaining to the point it frees up some time for her then she can start marketing. She's putting the horse before the cart and Gary is oblivious to this or he wants content and knows his viewers will eat it up.

    • @bangwithcamino693
      @bangwithcamino693 7 років тому +8

      instantsiv I think you missed the point of his advice, granted the main focus was instagram. He told her to essentially market her business better. She doesn't get the word out, which leads to a smaller customer base. She also messed with the formula that made the first truck successful (which may be her out front or the recipes). His point is extremely logical....girls love food and they love taking pictures of it....The more people that try her food, and hopefully like will share it with their friends and/or followers. She is in hard spot because she can't actually afford her expansion. She needs to go down to 2, train someone to handle it as she would, then move to 3. She moved to 3 before her second was profitable, had a strong presence in the marketplace and mastered her business. She could have been really lucky with the first or she has a niche product.

      Just the fact she had Gary ALL IN into her business for that long is priceless, she was focused in the problems, she looked really overwhelmed... I HOPE she gives the value that gesture Gary dd deserves! :)

    • @instantsiv
      @instantsiv 7 років тому +2

      Entrena Sure doing something is better than doing nothing, I'll agree with that. All I'm saying is she went to a marketing guy and the marketing guy said she needs to market... but her problem isn't marketing, it's operations.

    OMG!! Gary!! I don't know why this video did it for me but I realized my competitive advantage over older generations and/or ignorant people. I went from 500 followers to 3,500 in 5 months on Instagram, all organic!! Using your strategies!! All trial and error. I start losing followers, I assess and reinvent my content strategies. I gain followers, I assess and keep those content strategies. It works. Thank you!! I made this NBC 6 news in South Florida by following your strategies. 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

    I would have asked her if she was looking at her customer reviews on Yelp or some other review app.. What were they saying about the food truck? Critical reviews can be priceless especially sense she cant be at three trucks at once. The Instagram advice was amazing though. I hope she listens to Gary! He gave her $25,000 in free consulting and she doesn't even realize it.

    You changed my life. My prespective, my execution, my attitude... But the thing that I most admire at you is that you make this for others. Is not the fact that you care about others, but you have the patience to spend your time and energy with people that are not like you but you believe they can improve their lifes with your advice. People that you dont know, you will never meet and probably will never me in a position that you can take advantage of that.
    You striped out my dwelling, my negativeness and I became a better person. And I feel that I can help others too. And that this could be my life. Not my work, but my personal fulfillment.
    Thanks a lot. Hope we meet one day so I can say thank you.
    KEEP MOVING

    Gary, Holy crap this is spot on. Our business grew 80% this year top line, but the bottom isn't showing it. I definitely need to look back at what I am doing different 3 years ago than today, there is something key that I must have stopped doing. I know there are dozens of ways my approach has changed, so I need to look through and see which ones need to switch back.. there is a LOT to think about in that 10 minute video. This is one of your best!

Email me @ Trillfoot.com if you're looking to make an impact with your business and get your name out to larger community!

    Great stuff. I own an organic juice truck. Been doing it for 3 years. I vlog the entire journey here on UA-cam. Truck build three years ago to now we're opening a store front(haven't officially announced it yet, but giving hints). We have grown slow while at the same time gone all in, opposite forces. So much coming full circle right now. Micro and macro. It has been such a journey, yet the journey is just beginning! #jkjuices
    Btw: we do this exact Instagram strategy on our truck. It works. Every time. They come to the truck, get their free juice, and post a photo. Plus: their caption it always full of quality information(organic, local, cold pressed,etc) and gratitude. More than average customer photo.
    Then we give them a punch/loyalty card and let them know if they bring their glass bottle back they get $.25 credit on next purchase. Boom, second visit.

    Those were some good advices; definitely she should go down to two trucks and get her business in affairs with that setup. I would also recommend that the staff on one truck move to the second location while the staff one the other truck move to the first location on a biweekly schedule to make customers accustomed to other hosts of the trucks.

    impressed about how Gary have patience with a person like this... she does not seem appreciative and I suspect that is part of her problem with her trucks too...

    My family runs an Indonesian food truck here in DC. This is great stuff. Going to explore some more with the idea of really pushing Instagram to our market. We have an Instagram, but here lies the problem.... How do we create a following? Our presentation is great, the truck is well-designed, and we're usually in the heart of DC with great views of the city environment...I'm not sure what is it that isn't "Instagram-worthy" about our environment?

    I think the locations might be main problem in this scenario, she also indicated if she moved further away then she would lose control. Move to location where you have competitive advantage over other food trucks and set up good internal controls and get camera's to monitor those controls and continue to build good culture. :) GL
