F*ck me man kneecap hit me in the feels hard. I dont talk about him much and he's a piece of shit. But my dad was IRA. He came to the UK after they killed his Brother and chose to never ever speak Gaelic again. I sort of understand him a little better after watching that. Still a cu*t, but a product of his environment innit
This is one of the most entertaining indie films I've seen in a while. The pacing, editing and acting by the actors who played themselves are so well done.
My partner and I saw this at AMC as a surprise random unreleased r rated movie. We were pleasantly surprised and we literally have been obsessed since then. Literally going to see them in September
I'm very glad to see this comment. I'm from the south west of Ireland (Kerry) and was brought up thinking that Protestants in Northern Ireland saw the Irish as lesser people, and would never respect our language and culture. I just want to say, we all share this small, but beautiful island together. And Irish belongs to all of us. If we ever want complete peace, both sides should not only respect the other side's culture ,but embrace it. Protestants should learn the Irish language and should play hurling and Gaelic football.. We should learn to speak Ulster Scots, and learn how to play Cricket. I think this would be a great path to a non-segregated NI.
One of the best films I've seen all year. So good I'm going to watch it again. It was entertaining clever and hilarious. Those boys are very intelligent and their music is great very catchy. Haven't enjoyed a film that much in a long long time. Great characters brilliant acting and a good script. A proper good cinema experience where you laugh out loud and great Irish humour. Thankyou
Lmao fucking loser deleted his comment bitching about Tiocfaidh ár lá before I could even reply. Go grovel back to your Anglican overlords ya orange cunt
Uhhh, it has l lots and lots and lots of drugs and drug use in it so parents beware. Everyone else, enjoy the ffff out of this like I did. Great message, but wow do I miss being young.
This was such a joy to watch. From the quality acting, amazing script and compelling story it was all top notch. It’s so important that stories like these are shared. Awareness around Indigenous languages around the world, and the history of colonisation and how trauma is passed on from generation to generation is how everyone will heal and move forward together. Best film I’ve seen all year.
If you like the irreverent humor of Trainspotting, the cultural defiance of Straight Outta Compton, and the raw energy of 8 Mile, you’ll love Kneecap. It’s a wild, unapologetic celebration of identity, language, and rebellion that’s as funny as it is thought-provoking. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I don’t like drugs and I don’t like hip hop but I absolutely loved this film! Full of energy and vitality and optimism and some great lines that made me laugh out loud. Thoroughly entertaining.
Can anyone tell me the exact words he's saying in irish? "Gach focal Gailig labartha is píllear scaoilte don saoirse na hEireann" is what I'm hearing, but my irish is pretty rusty
Lads just watched the film!!! It's what the teanga needed!!! 😮 Revitalised and modernised with lyrics, rap & beats. I know some rappers have tried but didn't take off. Ye hit the ground running. The acting was very good for unofficial actors. It wasn't cringe or shite. Well done👏🏼
God damn, I can’t Waite to watch this, even though I’m gonna have to read a shit load of subtitles on pause because I can’t read fast, but I don’t care, it looks fckn amazing..🤘
James O’Brian just rated this movie. ‘Change the face of hip hop’ 😏typical. I don’t understand the hype from the trailer but I guess everything deserves a chance if not simply to critique.
Went to see the film last night. 5* Excellent. Has Trainspotting/LockStock/PulpFiction vibes. Great characters, story, dialogue and visually stunning. Kneepcap the band, are going to be huge. But unlike Anvil, it well be well deserved.
@@delia9277 I just read August 2 on the Wikipedia and it’s also the date listed in the trailer. UK is going to be sometime later in August, not yet determined
was lucky enough to see this at SXSW in Austin back in March. 100% recommend. Great to see it get the wider release it deserves. must see film
Saw it last night. You will LOVE! Kneecap SXSW must’ve been brilliant
I'll check it out this week when I fly American to LA. It's on their list.
Absolutely blown away by this film. Went on my own and had to grab the nearest couple to talk about it - they were already RAVING. Sheer perfection.

That film is not a joke.

Same in Chicago!!! I’m excited to see this and I’m glad I saw it opening day the trailer had me hooked months ago
As a protestant from NI, this was a highly entertaining movie 🍿 great job guys 👏 👏

Catholic or Protestant it is real. :-)
What makes you believe Irish Protestants don't know or speak the language?

What a great movie, with a great message.

I couldn't agree more. The latest trend in Hollywood this year is music biopics and this was one of the best ones I saw in theaters.
Damn, was going to watch it this evening until I read this. Not up for an educational lecture on my Saturday night. Thanks for the heads up mate
@@jamesw.blatch1584 yeah maybe it’s not for you if you find a positive review tedious enough to not watch an amazing movie.
I love it promotes the language but amazing script, compelling story??really??
Just saw this tonight! Pure class!! It was a lot better than I expected... 10/10
This is a ground breaking film. i saw it a few months ago when AMC had a mystery screening. Incredibly inspiring.
This trailer does not do the film justice. Definitely go see it
Loved it! What a trip 😅 Thanks to AMC Screen Unseen and their wonderful choice for last night's movie.
Yes saw it last night!! I am really loving Screen Unseen
I DID THAT TOO!
What's AMC?
"Born thugs and no harmony" am dead😂😂 need to watch this gem
Such an enjoyable film. I've no idea how accurate it is, but it's hilarious!
Giving hope to the oppressed. The "modern day" punk movement is back in the forefront.
Got my tickets for the Asheville, NC showing!!
I saw it in Asheville today. It was excellent
Hope you guys are doing well after Helene, my relatives in my native Ashe and Watauga are still suffering.

The translation given here isn't quite right. In english it's "Every word of Irish spoken is a bullet fired for Irish freedom".
Trailer doesn’t do it justice! Best movie I’ve ever watched… but then again I’m “The North of Ireland” Catholic. Prods’ll enjoy it too.
It's very irish with a sprinkle of British films ❤ it's what the society that is the north has created ❤
Just watched this. LOVED IT.
