This bike is on my short list. I’ve heard nothing but good things for the 2020. I’m glad Kawasaki is keeping sport touring alive with modern technology.
Liking the non-Harley content for a change.
Im 5'6, Suits me better than zx10r this is comfy for me, kawi did a great job on abs too freakin perf
Quickshifting and autoblipping is only for high revs. It’s for racing at fast speeds or downshifting before a corner. Not meant for cruising around town that’s why it feels more clunky during demo rides
Chris Yuha
I tried it on a triumph street triple, this past weekend. Used it at normal street shifting rpm, wasn't clunky what so ever
I own a 2017 Ninja 1000, I believe the Ninja 1000 is the best motorcycle you can buy. I'm 60 years old, and have been riding for 50 yesrs.
Got to change that seat tho. Sargent seat is the best, in my opinion.
gsx s 1000f is close by
Great choice ✌️
Just became a patreon. Yours is the only channel I'm a patreon of because I love your content. You are awesome bro. Keep doing what you're doing. I am a new rider and the proud owner of a 2013 Ninja 650. My first bike at 42. Been wanting to ride since I was a teenager, and you helped push me to get it done. Thank you Blockhead for all you do. Look forward to your content before anyone else's. Ride safe. Stay vigilant!
Hows that bike treating you? I was thinking of getting one for the gentle cruise days
I just woke up and you surprise me with an upload!
My day couldn’t be better right now 😊
FXDR-S1000R Eli C. I’m turning 20 in 4 days and it’s my absolute dream to own a motorcycle.
These pov test rides from my favourite youtubers make me feel somewhat closer to owning a motorcycle.
Just looked at one of these today and fell in love with it. Beautiful and comfortable. I may have to see how they will trade. Once you have cruise control you want it on every bike you have.
Quick shifting is the way to go! The pops and farts along with the noise when quick shifting my FZ-09 make me feel like I'm back in a turbo car. Love it.
@@TheTightSqueeze nah. I left AIS on in the ECU so there's partial combustion with the throttle plate closed. It's designed to do that.
@@TheTightSqueeze Yup! Do you need me to tell you or are you just being a douche?
I wanna get a Kawasaki Ninja 1000 now lol
Now that sounds pretty sophisticated, and thanks for sharing your experience. 👍🏼👍🏼
I picked up a 2019 Versys 1000 SE LT in August and have put over 3500 miles on it... it's like this.. loaded with features and electronics. My favorite features are the quick shifter and heated grips. I've owned many bikes over the years starting with a 79 Yamaha 650 Special in 1985.... Owned an FJ1200, GTS 1000 (forkless Yamaha) cruisers, 600's... This Versys is by far my favorite bike ever. Thing is just stupid fun and smooth.
I love my Kawasaki Versys 650. Wish it had cruse control. But it’s very comfortable. A must test ride.
Rachel Gamble I owned the 2016 Versys 650 and it was an awesome ride. It did pretty well on the highway also. The bike is a sleeper. Of course I ride a zx14 now but I have fond memories of my Versys. Ride safely.
I miss bike week already glad we got to ride as much as we did. I rode just about everything and I think my favorite bike so far was the BMW 850 GS Adventure. I just love the idea of finding a dirt road and just tearing down it. Also lots of trails around Ocala and even around central Florida. My daily's atm are Vstar 650 and Yamaha FZ6.
13:35 most Kawasaki bikes have a positive neutral finder which some people like and some hate. It will default into neutral when stopped or sometimes when riding slowly.
Old comment, but if you're still around, care to explain this? Positive neutral finder?
@@TK-cl1jm It makes neutral easy to find at a stop. The only downside is if you are riding easy and shift from first to second, it'll slip into neutral sometimes. I usually give my concours 14 a decent flick up from first to second to avoid that issue.
Nice video.....bike looks kool and i like how yall mics are sync together.....pretty kool 👍
Love the TFT colored screens. So many options for $12,000
Nice honest review my dudessss..thanks
Everything in this video is just perfect! TOTALLY!!!
That's a nice bike.
Thanks BlockHead (and Wess).
I just turned from 2015th Ninja 650 (ER6-F name in my country) to the Ninja1000SX Tourer edition. I'm really exited.
Love that bike I always had Kawasaki's prior to my Harley
my dream bike. perfect bike for daily commute and longer tours and great for playing on country roads
Tottaly agree✌️
Make that dream a reality bro, two years later did you get the boike?
@@monkmoto1887 no not yet, got hit by a car in a roundabout on my road king and while recovering I bought a sailboat and am planning a cross Atlantic solo sail now😅 who knows what happens next
Hey blockhead just wanted to let you know that I finally made the upgrade from a dirt bike to a 100th anniversary 2003 harley davidson 1200 and a big part was thanks to you. Maybe one day I might be seeing you on the road
Nice review, Block. I agree with others that it's nice to see you riding different kinds of bikes. It's good to expand your horizons! I was considering this bike as a possible replacement for my old workhorse GSX1250FA but after seeing Wes on it I have changed my mind. The FA is way more comfortable. I would be too cramped on that Ninja. That is why I always hoped Kawi would come with an updated Concours. But it doesn't look like that will happen now that they are developing the H2 platform. Oh well. The Ninja is a nice bike though. Might want to try the H2SX next.
I love how this review's most played section has a puppy in it!
Nice to see an early upload
Wat a gawjus bike 😀🏍️. Thank u for taking us along with you n Wes very good vid 😀🏍️💜 north of England Uk
I test drove a Vanderhall a while back and had a blast. I put my gloves on the passenger seat and when I hit the gas they cycloned and almost flew out. I looked down and was going 70 in a blink. It was a ton of fun but as I pulled up behind a Camry and it towered over the Venice I thought, maybe not a great idea here in the Boston area! People drive with a vengeance here (guilty) and the roads are moon-cratered. If I was rich and lived in a quiet place I would pick one up in a heartbeat. I'll stick with my '09 FXDL for now! Keep up the good work brother
that’s sounds fun as hell brother
Yeah, we have some pretty crappy roads and the bicyclist's going down Mass Ave are even worse than the drivers. At least come summer when all this clears up we'll get to look forward to bumper to bumper traffic from noon until 8pm. Our two seasons, winter and traffic.
The 2020 Ninja 1000SX comes with cruise control.... amazing
Woot woot! Sport bike content!
Quickshifting & autoblip is just the start on your journey to an automatic dual clutch transmission
Those 4 cylinder bikes are just so smooth
Loved your live Q&A
Thanks for tuning in!
Haha. And a Harley rumbled by sounding very disappointed "What are you doing Mr. Blockhead on a sport bike?!" 😂😂😂
Cruising I much rather use the clutch on my Ninja, I like to blend more the gear shift. The quick shifter is good but it’s definitely rougher on the downshift, and from 1st to 2nd you never get a smooth transition. The clutch is so light on this bike I never get tired of using it
Always my favorite ❤️❤️❤️ bike ninja
I owned the first gen 2011 Ninja 1000... Twice. Loved that it had no ABS or anything. Same bad-ass motor. I own a 2020 Ninja 650 KRT ABS now. Not a fan of the ABS, but it's more comfy than the old Ninja 1000 and more fun turning the throttle. Awesome brakes. The rear brake is fantastic and I use it more than the front in the city. I am tempted though to go again with the new Ninja 1000. I mean, cruise control, quick shifter, awesome display... Same as my Ninja 650 but more functions. I hear it's supposed to be more comfortable now but I really didn't find the old stock seat to be bad on long hauls. Only thing they should have included though is heated grips. I mean, come on... I guess though it would dampen sales of the Concours because of price, or the price would have gone up a grand because they'd have to rework the electrical harness and left control panel, but hey at least it's sold as a factory option for about $250. Bags are optional but I'd go Hepco Becker aftermarket instead of factory. Got Hepco Becker rear C-Bow bags on my Ninja 650 and love them.
Nice review guys.
I had a 2012 Ninja 1000, it's a really good all around bike.
Tottaly ✌️
Great review thanks ... ordered mine the week before UK went into lockdown D'oh !! I have a Triumph Speed Triple RS but bought this for longer distance Riding ... Cruise control is like Intercoms .. we all think why the hell would I want that and now they're almost standard ... makes long rides much more relaxing ... quickshifter/auto blipper work well in the right speed ranges e.g. Not too high coming down and not too low changing up... this is a great all rounder 👍 stay safe from the 🇬🇧
YOUR A LUCKY MAN , RIDE SAFE AND ENJOY RIDING. I HAVE 2015 ,SAME THING WITH JUST TRACTION CONTROL.ITS REALLY FUN TO RIDE THIS.HOPE YOU ARE GETTING THE PANIERS.
Seems like a great value bike. Unfortunately I’ll need to wait until the lock down is lifted before I can even test ride! Have you got a delivery date?
Ghost Rider Yes mate panniers too .. stay safe👍🏻
Robert Ewers No delivery date yet ... the bike is in the dealers and was having all the kit fitted as lockdown came 😫
Hey as the owner of both the street triple RS and the Ninja1000sx can you suggest me which one should I buy out of these 2 awesome Machines?
both these machines cost the almost same price in India , Ninja 1000sx is 500-1000 dollars cheaper than the ST R excluding the Modes!
My purpose is an all-round motorcycle something that I can easily ride around in the
City traffic as well as weekend tour of around 100 -200 miles!..
Probably my next bike, or... the Concours 14
I own a kawasaki with the Quick Shifter/Auto Blipper it works really well, I'm sure there are better but it really is butter smooth once you figure it out. The quick shifter loves the revs, the more the better and the Auto Blipper ONLY WORKS (properly) when the throttle is closed and it really doesn't matter what rev range. It's very clunky if the throttle is not closed and I'm pretty sure it even says it in the owners manual. 'Once you go Quick Shifter, you never go back'
I ride my sons 2018 s1000r, And if the quickshifter on the kwakka is anywhere near as good it is brilliant. He has the shiftlight set at 7k and it is brilliant to get that light flashing holding the throttle open and just roll off the throttle step on the shifter and it bangs and pops on the downshift
.
OMG ! This is my dream Big Bike . I hope I can ride with you one day ! Gush ! But I’m too short to ride on it . Shout out Lady Rider from Philippines !
Daytona bike week Wess and Block's Adrenaline junkie test rides, round two!
I wanna see you test out a Triumph Rocket 3 2020
Great communication set up between the two of you. What system are you using?
Daytona Beach, thumbs up for that. Daytona State Alumni 2018
did you guys happen to try a versus 1000 also? Wondering how those two compare. Thanks
Nice , i need to try one of these, was that cali plates i saw on those bikes?
Any change you also did a test drive with the 1000 Versys which was behind you when you parked up? I'm now on a 2015 1000SX, 2020 Ninja or 2020 Versys 1000....? Not sure yet.
Nice bike if you like an upright seating position. I test rode a Ninja H2 SX SE+ at the Long Beach Show last November. A slightly forward seating position and a larger fairing. More on the sporting side. Shares a lot of components with the Ninja 1000, just a little longer and heavier and has a supercharger and electronic suspension with is super smooth. Also Brembo Stylema M50 calipers like high end Ducatis, cornering LEDs, and bluetooth. I would recommend test riding that bike if you can. Very impressive.
In 2019 I went into Kawasaki for a Ninja 1000 , walked out with a H2 SXSE … almost double the price but not as upright and lots more fun. 3 years later I’m taking back to read down to a ninja 1000 as baby ok the way and need the cash 😒
I am in love with the Ninja 1000. But as motovlogger myself, what is your setup for this amazing communication system?
Harley Davison‘s self canceling turn signals is not done by Lean angle sensor they use the speedometer it’s how many feet you move before they turn them off. Are used to know how many feet it was but I had forgotten
3:37 the burgundy car’s wheels look like a glitch in the matrix lol
Not sure if this is covered and I know this video is a couple years old, but I was interested in the comms, as it's very clear.... Can you confirm the type and brand you're both using please. Love the test ride too, I'm looking at purchasing one of these in the near future. I did like the zx6r but I feel the 1000sx will be more suitable for my requirements, a great all rounder!
Still riding my blue 2014 Ninja 1000 ABS. It’s currently got 75k miles on it. It’s the best all round bike I’ve ever owned. Doesn’t have cruise or quick shifter and I don’t really care.
Thank you for this! I'm also 6'4" and ride a 2019 Ninja 650 right now. I've naturally had the question if a Ninja 1000 would be a good fit for me too.
you want a 6r. Don't go 1000. 6r is way more suited for a 650 upgrade. 1000 is basically a slightly faster version of a 650. 6r is a BEAST and the correct next step. Coming from a 650, the 1000 will feel like a different bike with almost the same abilities. 6r IS WHERE IT'S AT
@@aa1bb2cc3dd4 yea I've heard that. My big concern is my height. At 6'4", I think the 6r will be too cramped
@@oramac7237 don't be so tall then! :P idk what to tell you. Get a big ol bike then. I'm lucky at 5'10. Bikes are designed for peoples my size.
@@oramac7237 the 6r is a while different type of bike. Not quite apples to oranges, but close. The 650 is an entry level sport touring bike, and the 6r is a supersport. It's a whole different experience, and not always a better one, as it depends on the rider. The 1000 is the step after the 650, if you want to think of it as steps. The zx14r is more like the 650 than the 6r is, as it is a sport touring bike, granted it's an incredibly fast sport touring bike, but a ST it is.
@@oramac7237 at 6-4 you should check out a zx14. You can find used ones for dirt cheap.
People are sleeping on Kawasaki. They have such good products and they’re constantly refining, improving, and offering more for the money. This 1000SX is everything I want in a motorcycle (except the chain drive) and I’m probably going to buy one. I can’t think of a better do it all sport bike for $13k.
Not me. My dad and I have owned only Kawis for street. Most of my extended family are also either Kawi or Harley (yuck) guys.
Honda and Beta for dirt. I love the KX series, it's just they never had a model that exactly fit my needs.
Life s so good out there..
I wish i would've made it to do some test rides this year. This is the bike i wanted to ride and i also own a Ninja 650 right now. This is a possibility for my upgrade choices. I went to the event Kawasaki had at Seminole Powersports but there was too many people and the wait to test ride this bike was about 3 hours
What is your mic and video setup and how do you get the audio from 2 people to be so clear?
Your my favourite UA-camr
:)
I been thinking about a Verysys 1000 because of its touring seat position. I just can’t ride the crotch rockets so I’ve never been able to enjoy a sporty 4cl bike. Always cruisers. Have you rode a verse 1000? Not as fast as a ninja but hell Of a lot faster than a v twin cruisers lol
I want that bike man!
I have a 2021 Kawasaki 650. I love my bike but now feel like I need a little more power. I am 6'4" too so the aerodynamics will work best for me on this bike. I want to know is it a major difference in the speed and initial speed pick up. I want faster but don't want to sacrifice the comfort I have on my 650. Please give as much detail on the speed difference between your 650 and this 1000. 😀
About changing mods, it was discussed by another owner, you should use clutch to do it.
That is so cool
Hello Blockhead
Om From Indonesia🇮🇩
Nice to meet you🙏🙏🙏🙏
I'd need to junk those Aprila Futura mirrors...not into mirrors, and those things would annoy me to distraction. Set of heated grips, and a de-cat pipe, sorted!
poor soul, no way he can now go back to a 650 and not want to upgrade
Nice engine sound
Can't wait for the Livestream and giveaway on IG! How do us casuals enter? 😄
next : Kawasaki ZH2 or all new H2 😁
good job !! :)
Have u tried Gsx1000f?any different in the handling and riding posture, which is more relax for long ride?anyway I'm 171cm height
Can you bypass the quick shifter? Just in case I wanted to keep it old school with clutch shift, clutch shift??
Does your buddy have a channel? I may not have heard in video.....he is my size and wondered what all he has test drove.
Man I wish they still did demo days around here. Trying to get a test ride at some dealers is like pulling teeth.
Yeah. Maybe that whole pandemic thing might have something to do with it
I haven't seen any demo rides or anything the entire time I've been riding. There has been a single Suzuki demo day, but it was only for an hour long time during the day on a Friday.
Aaaaahhhh!!! I'm so excited! My 4 wheelers are getting a room mate this summer. I wonder if I can get them to make babies? 🤔
LMAO this comment is very underrated
The second rider be like..Cessna 128DP, cleared for take off, runway 16, no delay, straight out departure approved. I enjoyed his voice pretty much
3:34 a stationary car pulls by on the left
That's the right now left
How is it compared to an FJR in comfort and performance!
Come with side cases or is that an up charge for those?
Ooooo! I need to try this!! I've never tried a sport tourer. Being on a cruiser, would I be disappointed in leaning forward or would my hands go numb?
I have a Vic Magnum and a Ninja. Very comfy no lean
Honestly I test rode the 1000sx this weekend, and I would say that it was just as comfortable as a cruiser such as the Vulcan. It’s a different position but still very comfy. And since this has higher handlebars than a normal sport bike i didn’t feel any discomfort in my hands
I switched from harley Baggers to this. Great riding position. On longer rides some pressure on wrist but most likely bad habit on my part. Now with cruise control its just the thing to give the right wrist a break on longer rides.
Hey blockhead is there a way to get a hold of you would love to send you some pictures of my 48 special and some mods I've done to it love the vids keep up the good work
Have you considered trying one of his other Social Media accounts (Twitter, Instagram etc.) located under about?
I'm thinking that could possibly give him an opportunity to have a different spin on his channel during the current situation.
It's a nice day outside... and can't ride! Doh! Be well man.
very good video...love from india
1978 Kawasaki z1r I rode years ago had auto cancel turn signals. Why they don’t now I have no idea
How do you get the audio of you and your buddy in your video?
Your awesome
Do a test ride on a Vmax 1700.
No shit! I've been dying to see a proper moto vlogger review a modern Vmax. It's like a conspiracy that no one does it.
How was the wind screen at blocking... well the wind?
just a question . in australia we here everyone in america is dying of covid19 , you are all in lockdown and cant go out without masks or essential business. was this taken during this time? doesnt look like much lockdown happening? just curious, cause we couldnt even leave the house during april due to what was "happening" over US , UK etc.. i own 2017 ninja, love it, nice little extras on this one. enjoyed your vid :)
This was recorded about a week before it was a thing here.
Dont autoblip down at less than 2500 rpm and make sure the throttle is completely closed.
How is the overall throttle response on the 2023 bike?
Would be awesome if when you say the height you would put it in meters as well
Man that old guy was all up in your personal space, guess he ain't skeered a no bug.
Never submit to the government PSYOPS propaganda.
@@JD1459 you just stop breathing my air buddy. 😂
Thanks chaps , so how did it feel at 6ft 4 because that is how tall i am ?
Debating between this and the 650 which is beautiful, lighter, cheaper, easier to whip around but no amazing power or engine note arghh.
When I sit on other bikes at the dealership I am always glad to get back on my 2016. Best ergonomics, period. The new quickshifter, auto blipper, TFT, etc. is all a bunch of gimmicky bullshit. Would rather that money be spent on a better power to weight ratio. This bike has only gotten slower over the last decade.
