You do such a good job in editing & nararating these videos. The American West is truly amazing, in fact, all our country is diverse in it's changing landscape. The best way to see the USA is on the road,up close & personal!
We live in Laramie for our retirement home. So, the Snowies are our back yard. Technically, Snowy Range is just the quartzite ridge capped by Medicine Bow Peak (12,013' IIRC). The whole mountain range are the Medicine Bow Mountains. I get the impression that you are in Colorado, probably somewhere on the Front Range. Another cool and scenic drive in the area with some good camp grounds (Tunnel Campground is the best IMO) is the Laramie River Road which runs from Woods Landing on Wyo Hwy 230 SW of Laramie to Colo Hwy 34 near Chambers Lake. It is always pretty but IMO best in the fall when the aspens are comarable to the Colorado Western Slope.
Recently discovered your wonderful UA-cam channel (and subscribed!). We found your channel when searching for videos relevant to a Lance 825 truck camper. We are very interested in dispersed camping (boondocking), but we are concerned about the limitation of a single 20-pound propane tank and 1-lithium battery. There does not appear to be a lot of storage that would allow you to store additional propane tanks or even a generator. I prefer not to carry propane or a generator in the crew cab of my truck. Do you have thoughts or ideas about boondocking for 3-4 nights? Obviously, weather plays into it ... I know there are a lot of variables.
Welcome to our channel! We’ve only dry camped a couple of times for 1-2 nights, but here’s our experience so far. We haven’t had an issue with propane. We use it for every meal, and to run the heater in the colder months. For our entire summer, we probably refilled it 2-3 times. The battery power of course depends on your usage. We were able to camp 2 nights and still have an okay amount of battery life left. But we also drove around during the day, so the truck & solar panel were able to charge it a little bit. We also conserve energy by using rechargeable stand alone lights at night instead of the camper’s lights. That being said, we are currently in the process of upgrading our Renogy AGM to two lithium iron phosphate batteries so we don’t have to worry about power as much. We will actually be releasing a video on it soon! So as far as storage, in our camper model there is room in the battery bank to fit two batteries (possibly more if the internal wall is removed), but no room for a generator or extra propane tank. We have however seen people use a hitch mounted rack to hold those items, so something to consider. We hope this helps! Safe travels!
Nice place, but most of the National Forest Campgrounds are poor. Whenever I go through a new area, I check out the campgrounds and ask myself if I want to spend a week there? I said “no” to every campground along that byway. Small, cramped, no privacy, no trees, and uneven surfaces. Looking at you, Brooklyn Lake.

As a kid the Snowy Range was my playground.
How lucky! Such a beautiful area!

How lucky to have that as your backyard! And thank you for all the info and recommendations! We’ll definitely look into them!
Thanks, will check that out.

@@thewaywedidit I can't wait to see the video you will be releasing on your lithium battery upgrade! Thank you for answering my questions. 🙂

Curious what type of fuel your pickup is and what the fuel mileage is with the truck camper on your pickup
Our truck uses gas, and gets around 10-11 mpg with the camper on.
Cool video. Just curious why the mask outdoors?
Thank you! This was taken a couple years ago, and the town encouraged visitors to wear them.
