With prices still so high, feeding your family can be a challenge but not with this recipe! Happy Friday! 💕
Here in Southern California Indian dinner for 4 (2 teen boys , mom/dad) is $85!!! That's 2 orders of butter chicken ( my family's fave) , 1 order of bangain bhartha , and 1 order of saag. Its just crazy expensive these days! Thank u for the recipe!
Of course when ordering Indian I want ALL the things too! But this will at least satisfy some of the craving.
Freeze the sauce ahead and save time and money
You know youtube algorithm's ebb and flow just like the great tides and i see Flo and husband 'dude' still giving us great professional content as ever... :)
I love to add a bag of frozen cauliflower to my butter chicken. It’s sooo good with the sauce.
thanks for the tip
yes! we love cauliflower!
Although I know it’s not traditional, I make it with full fat coconut milk sometimes and it’s delicious ❤
Hi Flo, I’ve been looking for an easy to follow recipe for butter chicken and you have delivered! I’m going to make this soon . All the best 💛
When frying the powder spices , have to add few tbsp of water or liquid so that the spices do not burn
Hi all, I love butter chicken it is so good.
Hello, i love experimenting with different ethnic foods! It is so much fun and SO delicious! I haven't mastered anything yet but getting there has been so yummy! Thank you Flo for sharing your version of butter chicken which is a definite favourite of mine! Have a wonderful weekend!
Flo, if you are using an entire can of tomato paste, open both ends of the can with a standard can opener then push the past out with the cut lid. It is SO easy.
Looks like a great recipe…will be trying this out for sure! Yummm 👋🇨🇦
Thank you so much for this! I can hardly wait to try it, my family will love it just as much as all the other dishes I have learned from you.
I love butter chicken, I've had sauces from different places and it's my favourite, so I ordered it in an Indian restaurant, it was so very sweet! I complained, to be told that's how it's cooked, I told them that of all the butter chicken meals I've had, not one has been sweet! I can only assume that it's made with sugar in their region but, not anywhere else!
That's actually my favorite kind, with some sweetness. I have had so many different "butter chicken" sauces, some with saffron, some sweet, some more acidic, some that almost taste like tomato soup, some thick, some thin... When I make it at home in a rush, I use the VH sauce (best of the options in my area, which are few) and I add coconut milk or creamed coconut (not coconut cream) to make it creamier and a little sweeter. Flo's recipe seems very similar to the jar I use and probably a lot better, I will try it next time I make butter chicken!
Just made the butter chicken…wow! Great flavors and plenty for leftovers. Thanks so very much.
Great job cooking, explaining, & sharing recipe! Be safe, stay healthy, & God Bless everyone!
❤Flo!! Ya got me craving the is and going to make it. Tip - add the spices before the tomato paste to toast them…boosts the flavor. 😊 🤤
I am also intimidated to cook Indian food, but this looks super simple to make! Thanks, Flo!
Thanks for a super recipe, Flo ❤

Did you make the naan?
I didn’t make the naan this time.
Awesome recipe, thank you!
Will definitely be trying this, LOVE Butter Chicken!
Another amazing recipe! This a new favourite in our household!
I haven't made butter chicken in over a year. Thanks for reminding me how easy and how good this dish can be at home (just need to get yogurt & cilantro).
This looks delicious Flo ❤ can’t wait to make this . Thank you so much ❤
Flo, I made it for dinner tonight and my family loved it❤ you are right, it‘s so easy to make it, thank you!!
Thank you for this recipe so easy to make.. 🥰🇦🇺

Going to try it. Thank you.
Flo this was amazing and so easy!! I hope we can see more indian dishes that you learnt and did the Flo way! Thanks again!!!
yes indeed!!
Thanks for the recipe and dinner idea - I'm making this tonight!
You had me at a cup of whipping cream!! That sauce looked sooo luxurious, but the recipe seemed quite simple and straightforward. Great payoff for the effort! Happy weekend! TFS, Sharon🤗♥️
Love it when Chinese cook food of other national cuisines. I am German and love to cook and eat Asian food. Oh, and the comment from s/o in your cooking class and your reference to the teacher's response: Skim milk? Then why bother? Priceless! This looks so delicious and I will make this soon!
What a fantastic idea using your mallet to break the garlic !
Also if you're going to cook more indian food in the future , consider making a ginger garlic paste at home. It's super easy , you just need the proportion of ginger and garlic that you like and blend it with a bit of oil of your choice. Stays in the fridge for a month or so 😊 just make sure that the amount of oil that you use covers the ginger garlic paste when it's settled in the storage jar.
Lovely recipe! Love your channel.. 😊
Thanks Flo. Dark meat in market is half the cost of white meat, and easier to cook.
I love butter chicken. I will so try this recipe. Thank you for sharing. Hugs 🤗
Hello Flo.. i really love your voice. You are beautiful.. thank you so much for sharing your recipe
.god bless you and your family
It won't break the bank to do it, I recommend folks visit an Indian meat shop. They usually have pre marinated chicken for butter chicken among many other options. I find their prices a lot better than grocery chains too. Especially lamb prices.
That looks so delicious! Will definitely try 😀
That butter chicken looks so good! Love the thumbnail - you look so pretty 😊
I'm going to try this next week. I love Indian food.
I love butter chicken but have been too intimidated to try making it at home. I’m going to try your recipe soon! Thank you flo, dude and the cats 😆
I love Indian food and this recipe looks like a winner.
Looks delicious
Looks delicious❤ I'd love to see your kitty crew😸
check out recent cat updates on their Instagram @kopiwithkaya!
I love butter chicken. I have used the jar sauce but this looks better and I have all the spices. I’ll make it soon.
Blessings
I can't wait to cook this! Thank you for all your videos! Do you know of a recipe for pasta with curry sauce and ground beef?
Sorry, I don’t. 🤔
Oh my gosh I am such an idiot…what a great idea with the mallet for my garlic. I can stop hurting my hand. Thank you!
🤣 Happy to help! 🧄🔨
It is Authentic Butter Chicken, Authentic Flo Butter Chicken...
Looks nice but i think that there should be some cashew nuts or mix, dry grapes maybe dry pineapple chunks and for sure green cardamom seeds.
Those seeds are a game changer providing you extract them from their gangue
Delicious😍😍😍😍😍
I'm with Dude. No discernable 'fat' in my mouth or things will all go south in a hot minute!
Missed you were have you been
Not sure why people are not seeing my posts. I have posting weekly every single week for the past 7 years. 🤔
They (Flo and Dude) have shifted their schedule to post on Fridays rather than Sundays.
TGIF and have a nice weekend.
That doesn’t explain why our videos aren’t showing up for people.
❤❤❤❤❤
That looks good, but how do you serve it, over rice or noodles. can we add veggies like broccoli florets & onions (sliced pole to pole), bell peppers etc...
Traditional butter chicken is served over rice, as they state in the video. Vegetables of choice served on the side, not mixed in with the chicken.
7:15 can we substitute coconut milk?
Asking for a friend...
Why not? Just note that the taste will not be the same.
Could I use coconut milk?
You could. Just be aware that it will not taste the same.
Hi Flo, I have a question. I was reading an article that you can grate your garlic rather than using a garlic press. So I see you mince the garlic with a knife, but use a grater for the ginger. Is there a difference between grating and using a knife to mince?
I like using the grater for ginger because it gets it finer and is more shredded than chopping, for me. I find the grater gets the garlic too fine for this recipe and I don’t want the garlic to burn. Plus there were 6 cloves and I can chop faster than grating. Depending on the recipe, sometimes I will grate the garlic along with the ginger. I’m all about less work! 😉
@@FloLum thanks for your reply! I’m always wondering what I should do. My knife skills suck. So anything easier can help.
My knife skills used to suck a lot! Practice helps. The more you do it, the better you will get at it and a sharp knife is key!
Eat it with naan, voila Indian pizza
I just found this channel. I'm only a little late (9 and a half years). Now the thing is I don't want to watch old videos. It's similar to eating a 3 day old TV dinner leftovers or combining spam, tofu, and something green all together and calling it a meal for a loved one. So I'm going to have to request that you redo all of your past videos so I am not subject to the feeling of a frozen sponge leftover. I only like fresh meals and video recipes served up. After all, I just sat down and found your channel/home and you don't want to give me leftovers do you? It might sound like a selfish request but I hear practice makes perfect + new views.
