Project:
As a school project, we were assigned to create a project of whatever subject we would like, but it has to do something with Animation.
Both of us figured the Anime series Initial D would be a nice challenge to animate due to the complexity of the Environment and the Drifting.
So we created a short film about the AE86 Drifting on Mt. Haruna in Japan.
For the Environment Marvin used a rough 3D Scan of the Environment and did the retopology and remodeled everything by himself, we used Quixel Bridge and Botaniq for the detail shots but were restricted due to lack of computing power and a too-full schedule.
We had very little time to do our own sound design so we needed to improvise with the Car Engine sounds, we took the sounds from Forza Horzion 4 of a Nissan Skyline r34 which was tuned and adjusted to drift, we wanted to try the ae86 in-game but we were in a rush and needed results fast because of our deadline and schedule.
In this short Film I was responsible for:
modeling, texturing of the AE86, rigging of the AE86, working with multiple constraints & animating these, scene optimization, lighting, rendering, compositing, post-production, and sound designing.

but the question is why didn't you use a 4age sound instead of giving it 4 extra cylinders? there's so many soundbytes of 4age's out there now
@@ACreamyMeme we were really in a rush and had just about 2-3 Hours for the complete sound design (trouble shooting included)
Since I played a bit of Forza, I had this car ready and it sounded good, it was not accurate, but it was better than nothing

@@Oezcan3D congrats on project. For fun me and a friend of mine just pretend that the civic type r engine that you can also swap into other cars is actually a beams engine. Has that high rev 4cyl sound

Nice work! Seems like Bunta did a V8 swap (most likely an LS) to replace the blown 4A-GE from Final Stage.

now he can do 2 deliveries in one night!
It's honestly more likely that he swapped in a 1UZ-FE because it's more fuel efficient, makes peak torque higher in the rev range, and is easier to stuff under a corolla hood

but there are some mistakes on the audio
1. The AE86 od takumi does not have turbo
2. It is a V6 engine

Well done! Definitely more accurate Eight-Six model than the other Initial D 3D animation floating around.
The only errors I noticed were the spoiler (Takumi's Eight-Six doesn't have one), the kouki front bumper (Takumi's front bumper is a zenki), the kouki type III "redline" tail lights (Takumi's tail lights are zenki type I/II "sprinter" tail lights), and the inaccurate engine sound.
This and also the interior showed the tach with a redline of somewhere around 11K RPM. A real Eight-Six revs up to about 7.5K.

@@midlifehemi88 Actually that was correct, Takumi’s Eight-Six was modified to rev up to 11k RPM. (Source: Initial D Second Stage - Act 11)

@@dokomi1578 Takumi's tachometer markings do go up to 13 (Source: Initial D Final Stage - Act 4)
However, the tachometer in the show does list all 13 numbers correctly and doesn't skip any digits.

Great animation, but at the start when the 86 is revving the car does not squat/dive it rolls to the side depending on whether the crank rotates clockwise/anticlockwise.
This is great! Very nice animations but the sound give the 10/10 away so it's 9.5/10.

this is amazing,
1st: you didnt use deja vu or running in the 90s and used a bit more of a underated song (wich i do actualy listen to in my free time heartbeat is very cool)
2nd: the animation is great
3rd: the DOF change on the diles at 0:41 looks great
4th: the animation is great
5th: the models are great
the only thing it needs is smoke effects but tracking it to the wheels might be hard idk, never did simulations in blender, also didnt do animation just static images

1st: we had both chosen 3 of our favorite Initial D Eurobeat songs (Dejavu and Running in the 90s were included in the selection) and then we rolled a dice to select the song, which was heartbeat
Volume: We wanted to use Volumetrics and Simulations, but we had no time left to fully implement them into our Animation, the first results were promising but as mentioned, we ran out of time for the deadline

That is extremely impressive. However, in order to more accurately match the sound of 4 bangs happening at 11k rpm, it might have been best practice to rip audio from an NA 2JZ, since it makes a frighteningly similar sound at it's redline of 7k.
