      Sticks over knives, Sir. I can carry a collapsible baton, a .380 or .38. A sock full of nickels. I need an appropriate weapon to defend my body, business, block. My home. Everyone has a nice sized knife. Big folders. Used as a tool. Knife fights are not permissible. If a man were to stick (as in use the stick, and not the edge) you hard in the solar plexus or against the back of the head, it'd have to be a titan that wouldn't drop. I haven't carried my stick in awhile. Why do I load myself to be so encumbered that I'd have to rely on dropping everything for a dedicated slash? It's because I don't think deeply.

    Matt, it's got to be tough in situations like this. Pulling the rug out from you. From my experience as an instructor, i found that when i had to cease classes, the main reason was lack of student dedication. It's been an honor to follow your instructor, and i look forward to training, when you get settled again. God will bring it to you i have no doubt. Stay safe my friend. Doug.

      Thanks. It’s actually a blessing. It will allow me to spend more time with online students without the massive overhead. I’ve been out of pocket or barely breaking even for four years now. Plus I will have time to address my hips and actually be able to make time to see a therapist or two.

      @@pasquinilli Matt, i know where you are coming from. i fell on the basement stairs and it looks like i will probably have to have my knee artificial joint replaced. If i can give you some advice, replacements can be the answer, but things can go south as it did for me. But hang in there and be glad you are not in you 70's. God will provide. You are in my prayers. Doug.

    Thank you for your service, Matt. I’ve been very lucky and have never come close to being in a violent physical confrontation. Social skills in avoiding or de-escalating potentially violent situations is an underrated skill. I”m 73 now and just started to use a cane so I’m watching all of your videos. I also just got “When Violence Is The Answer.” Thanks also for mentioning some of the defense methods that are available to those of us with somewhat limited mobility and strength.

    I'd like to get started doing some training with my new Canemasters cane my wife and daughter got me for Christmas.
    But I can't!
    Why you ask?
    Because the cane they ordered for me on Dec 12th is still in "processing"....
    Whatever that means.
    Are they personally cutting down, milling and drying the hickory to then make my personal cane?
    Not really trying to put the company down in any way, but a bit of frequent updates on the order would be great.

    • @pasquinilli
      @pasquinilli  11 місяців тому +2

      Ive seen the process. Its all done by hand and they are real craftsmen. They bend the blanks by steam. Finish everything by hand. It’s an amazing cane worth the wait. They got slammed over the holidays and i think they are getting everything out soon. Thank you!

      Thanks Matt for the explanation.
      I realized this isn't an off the shelf product, just didn't expect the length the process is.
      I patiently waited this long and guess a bit longer won't hurt me.
      I look forward to being involved with your instructions.

    Simple and to the point RBSD. Nice. Really stout and beautiful hog canes of various sizes can be had for under $10 online. They are very innocuous and stealth. And you don't have to worry about trashing them if need be. Thanks for the video.
