*New Horizons* is my favorite season of *The Orville* so far. I like how it revisited previous stories told in the first 2 seasons and managed to give them satisfying conclusions.🤞Fingers crossed we get a fourth season.🤞
i wonder if we'll see a different version of Pria, in a future episode, but because of their own bias experience, of a different version of Pria, the crew do not trust her, and end up failing what ever mission because of it. her time line did change, just by having the orville survive.
I absolutely love this show. I loved season 1 as well. Some of the jokes in season 1 was a little miss. Some did work. But all all the stories are top notch. It's my favorite show on now.
Basically Fox network aggressively pushed the creator to add his humour in the season 1 as they wanted the show to be wacky sci fi comedy like his other successful show Family Guy.
I love anything about space. The Star Trek Series, anything Star Wars, and of course The Orville! A Big Fan of them All. The Orville surprised me the first season, but as I continued to watch into season 2 I was hooked. The Story line and the Special Effects are Amazing! I want More, along with every other Sci-Fi Fan. Keep up the good work. Love It! "ALWAYS!"
I agree Season 2 was peak for this show in terms of its genre as New Horizons I feel lacked a little in the comedy section it could have had more comedy in it to balance out the seriousness and heavy topics they covered. But Seth has done an amazing job at a sci-fi comedy thus far
The Orville started with Episode 3, "about a girl" the first two episodes were just a loosely based pilot to pitch to fox execs for full season greenlighting of production. the show shifts very quickly away from the family guy/american dad type of humor Fox was familiar with. even the make up effects change in ep 3. Alara for example suddenly has eyebrows. both in feel and in asthetics, the show changes quite quickly between episode 2 and 3, and doesnt really push back into that initial introduction, but maintains a better course in doing so.
Huh, that's interesting. I'm showing my dad The Orville for the first time, and we're watching episode 3 next. I'll have to keep an eye out for all that stuff.
As someone who grew up with star trek, the Orville has been my favorite trek show since Enterprise. I still like the newer star trek shows, but the Orville just feels like classic trek.
Season one is always an introduction between the creator and the audience. The creators introduce us to the character and setting and the audience tells them what works and what doesn't as well as what's missing.
seth macfarlane is hated alot fsr, yeah he worked on family guy, he made it, but fox was the one who made it terrible, he stopped writing for it a long time ago. the orville is a scifi, that doesnt take itself too seriously.
seth wanted to leave family guy for years, but fox milked it to the brink. he came back hard, the orville was great, the critics only hate it cuase it was made by seth macfarlane, they are biased.
Critics hated the first season because of the many tone shifts between Sitcom jokes and serious drama. But since season 2 the tone improved and critics begin to love the show
so the orville was trending on twitter and i thought maybe it got renewed or cancelled. no it was one guy complaining saying that he just started watching the show but for years he never did cuz the orville fans bash modern day star trek. he said they r so negative saying the orville does it better than modern trek. he also wants the fans to cool it. im so confused by that cuz well its true. the orville looks and feels more like modern trek. then tons of folks kept agreeing with him saying how toxic orville fans r. ive never seen any toxic orville fans but they want folks to stop saying it does trek better. one person commented thinking that the orville was made for right wing overlords. wtf r they talking about??? see this is the problem with those toxic youtube channels. they make a orville vid and then all a sudden folks think the orville is a toxic show.
If your feeling like it, Cobra Kai is a fun one to watch and critique. I wouldn't waste my time with modern Star Trek; its too obnoxious and far from classic Trek style to be enjoyable.
Agreed. I'd never bothered with Cobra Kai, as i thought they couldn't pull it off. Then i saw the Critical drinker's review and gave it a go. loved it, and am hanging to watch season 5 when it gets to Aus. Might just have to torrent I guess.
I'm old enough to have watched Trek TOS when it first aired. Loved TNG. Voyager was a bit hit and miss for a while but was still good. Not a fan of DS9, which seemed to me to be "to boldly stay in one place and have dramas come to me". Seasons three and four of Enterprise were great Trek. I was so keen on seeing The Orville, given how crap New Trek was, and I wasn't disappointed, although season one was a bit shaky, and some episodes didn't work at all. Season 2 saw the show hit its stride, and some episodes were truly excellent, with the cultural clashes with the Moclans, the Krill's infiltration using Teleya, and the Kaylon war. Season three, though, truly showcased what Seth and his team could do with the HuLu money. The show still had its corny moments, but there wasn't a poor episode. S3 left me hankering for a fourth, or even a movie. There is still so much for the crew to explore, including the threat exposed in Shadow Realms, the alliance between Krill and Moclus. Heck, maybe Dolly can even get Chapel Hart to appear with her.....
Love the show. Season 1 has some issues. Some of the comedy seemed a bit forced and they did stumble here in there. While I love the 2 Topa episodes in S3, the S1 trial that kicked it all off had some issues. I think S2 had the best balance of comedy. S3 was a vit too serious at times. But sometimes it fit and the S3 finale shows they can do comedy so well. S3 started a little slow but episodes 5, 8, 9, and 10 (and 4 to a slightly lesser degree) are absolute gold. I think Fox is responsible for the early comedy. Probably how Serh could sell the show. But as it went along he was nore able to explore his vision, which was more sci-fi drama and less comedy. And Trek has successfully entered that space too. SNW seems like it hits that comedy sweet spot muxh if S2 Orville did. I hope there's more. But if that's the finale, it was a fantastic ending for the show.
Yeah, the balance between comedy and drama may be why Season 2 is my favorite overall. And I've been hearing a lot of people praise SNW when discussing The Orville, so maybe I ought to check that out too.
@@TheMediaMonologue I thought it was a great show. Best first season. Lower Decks and Prodigy are really good too, though I get why they're not the cup of tea of some. Picard was... not good. Hoping against hope that S3 is better but not holding my breath.
@@TheMediaMonologue SNW was really good but in no way as good as Orville. Each week, the Orville came out on top. SNW was really trying too! "Damm. Lost another one. Damm"
Yeah I love the Oroville the only thing I might do is but I'm cool looking uniform because the Orville look like a cheap knock off but everything else looks cool
Season 4 could have some 'flash-backs' to before they were all together.....How they met, etc....and avoid the CG budget..... Lots of potential, there....
When Season Three had come out, So many were upset that the comedy was gone, some even said they will quit watching. WHAT the HELL ??? Even worse, other people started parroting that dum dum opinion.
"The Orville" is a tad bit too touchy- feely for my taste. There are no Marines for one thing! plus there military situation is somewhat too strained! One thing they don't mention is the vast distances they travel. Second don't these people ever run some recon on a species!!!
Orville is just so amazing that it has been renewed for a decade!!! No? Hmmm, well maybe it is a woke pail of shlt that nobody except a few pimple ranchers watches.
What are some movies/TV shows you'd like to see me talk about? Feel free to comment some suggestions!!!

Season 3 honestly May be the best Season of a Sitcom of all time (maybe tied with Season 2&3 of Community and whatever the Peak of Parks and Rec was)
"So many characters and storylines came full circle in a way that felt largely satysfing"

I've learned to not look at season one of any series under a microscope. It's usually an indicator of what a series can be.
