My number 1, not popular but I've never in my life looked forward to a movie like I did Return of the Jedi. The huge finality of the Ultimate Good against the Ultimate Bad. At the time this was the end of everything Starwars and that battle didn't disappoint. I also feel that Luke and Darth had the best duel in this movie. Impact has to count for something and this fight was for the Galaxy.
8:14 The computers didn't know which way is up because of planetery interference and I think it was stated that the whole system is surrounded by nebulas and anomalies so they wouldn't be able to just go around.
Well, the Emperor sent one ship from Exegol to destroy Kijimi, and General Pryde's ship said it could guide the fleet out, so it's not clear why every other ship has such an odd weakness. None of the Resistance ships or the Galaxy Fleet had problems either, and the First Order is supposed to be more technologically advanced. There's always an official explanation but the movie itself gives a poor excuse, IMO.
Good ranking and great insight on these films man 👍 Mine: 11. Solo: A Star Wars Story 10.The Last Jedi 9. The Rise of Skywalker 8. Attack of the Clones 7. The Phantom Menace 6. The Force Awakens 5. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story 4. Return of the Jedi 3. Revenge of the Sith 2. A New Hope 1. The Empire Strikes Back
The only sci-fi film that is at 'The Empire Strikes Back's' level isn't a 'Star Wars' movie, it is the second 'Star Trek' film, 'Wrath of Khan'! (I Edited this just to add the following note...) When I say 'SCI-FI' I must make it clear that there is ONE film above both 'Empire' & 'Khan', and that is '2001-A Space Odyssey'! I didn't want anyone thinking that I don't BOW before it's GREATNESS!!
I have a line I say in regards to Khan... Wrath of Khan wasn't a good Star Trek movie, it was a good movie, period. It did so many things for Trek (and I am absolutely passionate about Trek) on such a small budget - it saved Trek after The Motion Picture. That said, I shall make one quibble, both with you and myself here... The Motion Picture is unfairly maligned. Robert Wise had Roddenberry over his shoulder mucking up the world and good lord those pajamas uniforms... But, if anyone cares to - do give the latest 4k Director's Cut a shot - it is BEAUTIFUL and here is the quibble with you steve... Agreed that 2001 is a masterpiece, but I'd posit that the true version of The Motion Picture is a direct follow-on, the successor to 2001. It's the only Trek movie that is actually a sci-fi story - the others may have a sci-fi setting (Trek), but they're not really sci-fi stories. There's a bad guy the crew of the Enterprise need to take care of. In TMP, there was no bad guy - I suppose V'Ger can be called the antagonist, but V'Ger wasn't actually a big bad - it was... sci-fi. The visuals of the Enterprise going inside V'Ger are beautiful, still to this day, and were groundbreaking stuff in 1979. And don't get me started on the reveal of the Enterprise's refit... That's starship porn for someone like me. The Connie Refit Enterprise is the First Lady of sci-fi spaceships. Some are bigger, some are badder, but she's the sexiest of them all. TL;DR version - Khan is awesome, yes, and certainly more accessible for casual viewers, but TMP is, and I know literally only my wife will agree with me here (TMP is her favorite Trek movie, and she's as hard core a Trek fan as I am), the sci-fi successor to 2001. (I'll give credit too to Interstellar for being a successor to 2001.) Even more TL;DR version - I highly like and recommend TMP. (Flame suit activated!)
Good ranking! I always appreciate hearing other opinions on Star Wars. I’m getting ready to revisit these again for my yearly watch, and I anticipate 2 of these swapping places, but here’s my ranking right now: 12. Rise of Skywalker 11. The Clone Wars 10. The Last Jedi 9. Solo 8. The Force Awakens 7. Rogue One 6. Attack of the Clones 5. The Phantom Menace 4. Revenge of the Sith 3. A New Hope 2. Return of the Jedi 1. The Empire Strikes Back Generic in some ways, I know, but I anticipate Episode 3 overtaking 4, and Jedi is MUCH closer to ESB for me than it is for others.
12. Last Jedi 11. Force Awakens 10. Rise of Skywalker 9. Clone Wars 8. Revenge of the Sith 7. Solo 6. Attack of the Clones 5. Phantom Menace 4. Rogue One 3. Empire Strikes Back 2. Return of the Jedi 1. A New Hope My opinion stick to yours
I've changed my ranking to this 12. Last Jedi 11. Force Awakens 10. Rise of Skywalker 9. Clone Wars 8. Attack of the Clones 7. Solo 6. Revenge of the Sith 5. Phantom Menace 4. Rogue One 3. Empire Strikes Back 1. Return of the Jedi/ A New Hope
I used to say that Revenge of the Sith was my favourite SW film. But now, I would just say I love episodes 1 to 6 equally. They feel like one big film to me, I've seen them so many times. All the films have good and bad points, but these add to the whole experience of the story and think the prequels compliment the originals beautifully. Additionally, George Lucas's development as a director and the development of the main cast through the films, as both characters and actors, these are also part of the experience of Star Wars. I wouldn't change any of it.
1. A New Hope - There's a reason everyone went and saw this over and over again. Re-watchability. 2. Revenge of the Sith - So many goosebump inducing scenes. Like when Obi says to Padme "Anakin is the father isn't he? I'm so sorry." and the music swells and we cut to Anakin. 3. Empire Strikes Back. My favorite as a kid but maybe I've seen it too much now? John Williams' masterpiece btw. 4. The Phantom Meance - Seeing this on opening day made me feel like I was 5 again. I love the look of this one. Also, #1 Jar Jar fan here. 5. Return of the Jedi - Fantastic stuff but even as a kid watching it at home I always fast forwarded half the Jabba and Endor scenes. 6. Attack of the Clones - Anakin's awkwardness around Padme and his overeagerness to become a Jedi Knight highlight how he was so easily manipulated by Palpatine. 7. Rogue One - Hey, Disney actually did something right with Star Wars. 8. The Force Awakens - Great set up but we'll get there... 9. Rise of Skywalker - I appreciate that J.J. tried to right the ship in regards to Luke. It is a good looking movie. Thats about it. 10. Solo - I didn't want this and I don't care if the writer doubled down on it on Twitter but Lando does NOT bang robots. Visually horrible until towards the end. 11. The Last Jedi - Congrats Ruin Johnson, you destroyed SW.
Revolutionary 1. A New Hope 2. Empire Strikes Back Cinema 3. The Last Jedi 4. Revenge of the Sith Just Good 5. Return of the Jedi 6. The Force Awakens 7. Attack of the Clones Flat out terrible 8. Rise of Skywalker 9. The Phantom Menace That's my ranking. As much as I try to love The Phantom Menace, I just can't justify the dumpster fire that is the first prequel. It just contradicts everything that the Original Trilogy did so well. Yoda in his entirety is slaughtered in the Prequels, going from being the greatest character, being this mysterious, force wielding mythological deity, to a mere flashy fight scene. (Still mad about that) The acting is terrible, and the script is notably worse than any other Star Wars Film. I absolutely despise The Phantom Menace for all that it ruined. The only good that came out of it is Qui Gon Jinn. The only reason the Attack of the Clones isn't lower is because it has charm and great world building, and you get a better insight into the world of star wars and its inner conflicts. It also builds Anakins character very well, as well as his descent into darkness. Still not great, but it's better than TPM. As for the Rise of Skywalker, its fun but fundamentally terrible, and it ruins all of the great possibilities that The Last Jedi sets up. Making Rey a Palpatine and bringing him back in general was horrible, absolutely unjustifiably terrible. The Last Jedi has such interesting themes, it was dark, gritty, and made you question whether good or bad even exsisted in Star Wars. I love philosophical shit, and The Last Jedi was exactly that, it was glorious. So its a shame it was ruined by J.J Abrams. Return of the Jedi is good, its just notably worse than the other originals. It has charm, and a good message, but the only interesting parts of the film end up being Luke and Vaders conflict. The rest is sort of thrown in the background and less expanded on than the theme of Light vs Darkness. Leia (who is my favorite OG Trilogy character) is needlessly wasted and mistreated in this film due to the fact that Luke is just the only focal point. She was such a powerful figure in A New Hope and Empire, and it worked so well, and shes just not the same in Return of the Jedi. Han is barely developed at all, like whatsoever, and Han and Leia are just sort of there, with not much development to make their romantic trope interesting. As much as I love this film, and adore it because of its charm and identity, its just difficult to not notice the blantantly bad stuff going on within its characters. I will say, Vader is perfect, as is Luke.
My ranking: 12:The last Jedi 11:The rise of Skywalker 10:The clone wars movie 9: Attack of the clones 8:Solo 7:The phantom menace 6:The force awakens 5: Rogue one 4:Revenge of the sith 3: A new hope 2: Return of the Jedi 1: The Empire Strikes Back
Star Wars I-VI are the GOAT, they are one and the same, they are the best movies, a marvelous, magnificent and timeless work, two united and inseparable facets of the Star Wars world, the Skywalker saga as it should always have been.
My ranking: 1. Empire strikes back 2. Revenge of the sith 3. A new hope 4. Return of the Jedi 5. Rogue one 6. Phantom menace 7. Attack of the Clones 8. Solo 9. The Force Awakens 10. The Clone Wars movie 11. The Last Jedi 12. Rise of Skywalker Rise of Skywalker and Last Jedi are basically the same place for me but Last Jedi gets the edge because of the Yoda scene Attack of the clones and Solo are also kinda the same place for me since both were flawed but I enjoyed both of them, Attack of the clones gets the edge because of Christopher lee
In my ranking the Disney products don’t count: 6. Phantom Menace 5. Attack of the Clones 4. Revenge of the Sith 3. Return of the Jedi 2. Star Wars 1. The Empire Strikes Back
I Envy you being able to watch these movies for the first time. I wish I could forget them all so I could watch them for the first time again without knowing anything before hand.
Awesome! I really hope you enjoy experiencing the saga for the first time! Just curious, what order are you watching the movies in? I know everyone recommends something different.
@@TheMediaMonologue i'm loving it a lot actually!! i'm watching by release order. i figured i would enjoy it more if i watched them like the rest of the world did
My personal ranking is here : 12) Rise of Skywalker 11) The Last Jedi 10) The force awakens 9) Clone Wars 8) Solo 7) Attack of the clones 6) The Phantom menace 5) The revenge of Sith 4) Rogue One 3) Empire strikes back 2) A new hope 1) The return of jedi
Agree with all except I’d swap empire #1 and Return to #3. I also miiiight make the argument that TFA would be dead last because after that utterly awful film I lost all hope for the sequels being anything of substance so I wasn’t at all surprised when the other 2 were complete trash.
I didn't get into Star Wars until pandemic lockdown. One of my best friends has been into Star Wars longer. We have very drastic list. IDK if mine is controversial. 1) Rogue One 2) Revenge Of The Sith 3) Return Of The Jedi 4) Empire Strikes Back 5) Phantom Menace 6) A New Hope 7) Phantom Menace 8) Clone Wars 9) Solo 10) Force Awakens 11) Rise Of Skywalker 12) Last Jedi Sequel Trilogy, I can't seem to not compare it to Josstice League VS Zack Snyder Justice League situation with a change of directors in the middle and changing story and not acknowledging plot points from each other. Also this is for me personally. I don't get Star Wars feel from Rian Johnson Last Jedi. I do get a bit more feel from JJ Abrams Star Wars movies. But they just don't feel that great for me either.
My personal ranking: 1. Revenge of the Sith 2. Empire Strikes Back 3. Rogue One 4. A New Hope 5. The Phantom Menace 6. Attack of the Clones 7. Return of the Jedi 8. The Clone Wars 9. The Force Awakens 10. Solo 11. The Rise of Skywalker 12. The Last Jedi
Great list, here's mine: 1: The Empire strikes back 2: A New Hope 3: Revenge Of The Sith 4: Rogue One 5: The Force Awakens 6: Solo 7: The Phantom Menace 8: The Rise of Skywalker 9: Attack of The Clones 10: Return of the Jedi 11: The Last Jedi 12: Clone Wars I think Tiers better represent it for me though as several movies are interchangeable for me, and the gap between the good and the bad is bigger then a single number suggests: S: ESB, ANH A: RotS, RO B: TFA, Solo C: D: TPM, TRoS, AoTC, RotJ F: TLJ, Clone Wars Recently rewatched them all with my wife (who hadn't seen them before) and had some surprising take aways. Perhaps the biggest was that Return of the Jedi really doesn't hold up, its tonally a mess in addition to not making much sense, and was one of the few films my wife and I pulled out our phones during because it wasn't engaging enough to keep our attention for much of its run time. The acting also felt like a step down from the previous films, albeit mostly Carrier Fischer. I suspect it got higher on your list out of nostalgia since you spent most of your review tearing it apart harder then the movies that came below it in your list. I used to have Attack of the Clones in my F tier but on rewatch I liked it more then I remembered, which isn't to say I liked it, just that I liked it about as much as The Phantom Menace, which isn't saying much, but before I had found TPM bad but watchable, while I had previously found AotC straight unwatchable. It's worth noting we didn't rewatch the animated Clone Wars as I remembered it being so bad in the theaters I couldn't bring myself to subject my wife to it.
Good list! And yeah, I placed ROTJ higher in comparison to problems I had with the other films, but I suspect I'd rank it lower the next time I do a ranking. Still, the 2nd half of the movie is amazing, so maybe that's enough to save it for me.
Mine from worst to best would go Rise of skywalker Phantom menace Last jedi Force awakens Solo Attack of the clones Rouge one Return of the Jedi A new hope Empire strikes back Revenge of the sith
Empire strikes back is my #1. It’s the first time I ever seen the bad guys win at the end Plus finding out Darth Vader was Luke’s Father scene was still one of the best scenes ever Any of the last 2 movies are in watchable I thought I might get some answer They had weapons disappear from bad guys hand then reappeared just so the girl can escape No holograms when looking at empires ships chasing the rebels when they where killing one ship at a time why I don’t know but the radar that they used looked like a 1979 video game They just didn’t care
My favorite star wars movies are a new hope empire strikes back return of the Jedi attack of the clones star wars the clone wars revenge of the sith and rogue one
I always said that AOTC should’ve been the first movie in the saga with some parts of TPM included. Then instead of AOTC we get a live action clone wars movie that develops anakins fall to the dark side making it more realistic, also making the betrayal of the clones even more impactful.
one word UNDERRATED also i think the phantom menace is underrated i think its even better then attack on the clones. Also i think the force awakens deserves a higher place, its not that good and attack on the clones and the phantom menace is just better in my opinon.
Mine is 12 last Jedi 11 attack of the clones 10 solo 9 clone wars 8 force awakens 7 rogue one 6 rise of sky walker 5 phantom menace 4 revenge of the sith 3 a new hope 2 empire strikes back 1 return of the jedi
@@TennisC6 Oh, don't get wrong, I LOVE ANH. I just think that 5 of the movies are better. I'd gladly watch #1-9 on the list any time and #10 on occasion.

@@TheMediaMonologue yeah I love that movie despite some of its issues which you pointed out it laid the groundwork’s for the Tv series which is one of my favorite shows ever so I can’t put it lower then where I have it 😂
@@TheMediaMonologue Honestly Empire Strikes Back is the best made one but in terms of my rewatch enjoyability for me it’s Rogue One. I love that movie and besides Andor is one of the greatest SW tv shows ever! Edit: ESB and RO are pretty much the same for me I just can’t choose between the two they are both so good 😅
1 empire strikes back 2 Star Wars 3 revenge of the sith 4 return of the Jedi 5 attack of the clones 6 phantom menace 7 force awakens 8 rogue one 9 solo 10 last Jedi 11 rise of skywalker
11: Attack of the Clones A cinematic failure on every level. 10: The Phantom Menace Hard to get through some parts of it. 9: The Rise of Skywalker Tons is plot holes and bad character decisions, but at least it’s fun. 8: The Last Jedi A big improvement over the 3 already mentioned, TLJ has many issues but many amazing aspects as well. 7: Solo Nothing special, but fun. 6: The Force Awakens A well-written and made movie, but not particularly original. 5: A New Hope It feels very dated, but it’s a very good story. 4: The Empire Strikes Back This and the movies above it are ones I consider to be amazing. 3: Return of the Jedi The first 2 acts aren’t the best, but the 3rd act is incredible. 2: Rogue One Take what I said about ROTJ and apply it here. 1: Revenge of the Sith A work of art. There are script issues, but this movie is so artful and emotional that it doesn’t matter.
I am stunned that anyone could put Revenge of the Sith above A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back. Hayden Christianson is absolutely terrible in the prequels.
12. The Force Awakens 11. Rogue One 10. The Rise of Skywalker 9. The Last Jedi 8. Solo 7. Clone Wars 6. Return of the Jedi 5. The Phantom Menace 4. A New Hope 3. Revenge of the Sith 2. Attack of the Clones 1. The Empire Strikes Back

1. The Empire strikes back 2. A New Hope 3. Rogue One 4. Revenge of the Sith & Return of the Jedi (honestly, I can't decide which I like more) 5. Solo 6. Phantom Menace 7. Attack of the Clones I can't say I like the CW-Movie, its honestly just about the lowest point of the Series. But its the Film with which this amazing Show started, so its kinda important. So I give it a pass, but I won't even try to compare it with the Live Action-Films. The so-called Sequels don't exist, as far as I am concerned.
ROTJ 4th? Not a chance. And if the rose tinted glasses are removed, Rogue One is the best Star Wars film. Lucas was abysmal at writing. His broad stroke story telling was good. I was 14-15 in 1977 and I knew at the time Star Wars was second tier sci-fi. Yeah yeah, Space Opera. Pfft ;) It's strange that the best Star Wars live action series also contains Cassian Andor, Melshi and Mon Mothma.
I'm sure I'll be insulted😂 but never mind, here's my personal ranking 1: Revenge Of The Sith 2: Return Of The Jedi 3: Rogue One 4: The Empire strikes back 5: The Last Jedi 6: A New Hope 7: The Force Awakens 8: Attack Of The Clones 9: The Phantom Menace 10: Solo 11: The Clone Wars Movie 12: The Rise Of Skywalker 🤢🤮

Dissapointing that you would stick to the film snob approved ESB is the best opinion. Im convinced this only came about because of Lucas being a bit of an outsider to hollyweird. Its the messiest film of the originals.
1. Empire Strikes Back - greatest movie ever made, and while eclipsed by the prequel fight choreography, Luke vs Vader 1 is the greatest duel visually and impactfully 2. Return of the Jedi - Luke is amazing (as he DAMN WELL SHOULD BE), the three battles-at-once is visually insane, and Luke vs Vader 2 is the second most impactful duel (Ani v Obi is so, so close here) - my only nitpick - and it's not the Ewoks... I'm a blue saber guy and graflex saber is THE definitive saber design for me 3. Revenge of the Sith - this and Jedi are so, so close, Anakin vs Obi-Wan is fantastic, high ground aside 4. A New Hope - without this we have nothing 5. Rogue One - it was actually a Star Wars movie - this will be the only non-Lucas movie I rank... It just felt good, and the starfighter battle was thrilling 6. Attack of the Clones - I buck the trend in that, wooden dialog aside, I like this movie, and seeing Yoda go ham on Dooku was a thrill in the theater 7. The Phantom Menace - delete pod racing and maybe this moves higher... Duel of the Fates was epic, surely, but the setup required too big a lift I fear with the politics... 8. The Clone Wars - it's George approved so it makes the cut. The sequel trilogy? Doesn't exist, I don't care what anyone says. I shall keep my head canon with all the novels of the EU (screw the Legends name!). Solo? Couldn't be bothered to watch it so I'm not going to comment.
TFA is just as GARBAGE as the rest. I'd place it as THE WORST MOVIE out of all if it weren't for TLJ. Rey's a mary sue with no charisma. FiNN's a pathetic character who feels bad about what he didn't do, conviniently changes when the plot needs him to the most and he's a hypocrite who didn't kill innocents yet kills stormtroopers who just like him...were brainwashed. Worst character of all time. And then there's Kylo who looks so cool but is humiliated after 5min for the sake of a silly joke and then removes his helmet to show the worst face I can think for a villain.
I put Return of the Jedi up there with The Last Jedi, The rise of Skywalker and The Phantom Menace. In the dog sh@t bracket. Whereas, Number 1 is The Empire strikes back, followed by A New Hope, Rogue one and Revenge of the Sith. Attack of the Clones and The Force awakens are somewhere in the middle for me.
I like the clone wars movie 2008 didn't hate it the show was epic classic grew up watch the show i like the original 4 5 6 and 1 2 3 the new ones 7 8 9 sucked ass lol.
You are right, The last Jedi deserves to be the last. I lost it when I saw Princess Leia floating in outer space alive, and Luke's spectre wielding light saber to fight. Thought I was watching some fantasy movie, instead of sci-fi.
I’m so glad to hear you say that allowing Leia to float in space and somehow use the force she has never been shown to train to have the knowledge of makes no sense for her to just out of no where use it for that I lost it I almost gave up on Starwars because of the Last Jedi it was bad 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Leia flying in the space was so cringe but what you're saying is wrong, she's always been force sensitive and she also became a very powerful Jedi in the comics and what Luke did is called force projection and in comics Grandmaster Luke is so powerful that he mastered force projection and became one of his greatest ability. This film is bad but what you're saying is completely wrong
Agree 100% although I don’t dislike the force awakens I hate the other two but force awakens is actually good in my opinion probably because it’s a replica of a new hope but….don’t kill me here…..I actually prefer the force awakens to a new hope in terms of enjoyability to watch, not to say a new hope is bad I just don’t think it’s as fun to watch nowadays. A new hopes story is better though.
1. The Empire Strikes Back 2 + 3 (tied): A New Hope / Return of the Jedi 4: Revenge of the Sith 5. Rogue One 6 + 7: Attack of the Clones / The Force Awakens 8: The Phantom Menace 9: Solo?? (I think I've only seen it once and I think I might like it more upon rewatch) 10: The Clone Wars 11 + 12: The Rise of Skywalker / The Last Jedi clearly I'm bad at making decisions but you get the idea. it's hard for me not to put RotS in the top 3 but the originals have always been my favorites and I have such a soft spot for them. I'm a bit of a TFA defender because it's just a fun time and it had SO much potential, I loved so many of the new characters but man they fumbled the bag with all of them. clone wars movie is awful but it least it introduced 2 of my favorite characters of all time (Ahsoka and Rex). can't pick between TRoS and TLJ because I hate them both for some different reasons and some similar reasons. anyway nice ranking, happy halloween!
I get that, my list was really hard to finalize, and there was a time when I didn't know how to rank the standalone films with the episodic films. Thanks for replying, and happy Halloween to you as well!

Rise of skywalker pisses me off the whole message saying okay killing your family member if they are evil which is complete opposite of return of the Jedi this why I consider Luke a true Jedi while Rey is a fake one considering how she acted during fights. Now that I think about it there wasn’t any Jedis at all in the Disney trilogy I’m not talking about those that quit being one or didn’t complete there training I talking about full fledged ones and looking at Rey she doesn’t have a Jedi mentor at all.
No, it says that it's ok to choose your own family and Palpatine was literally gonna kill everyone if he wasn't stopped. He is the ultimate evil in the galaxy.
Rise of Skywalker Last Jedi Force Awakens Attack of the Clones Phantom Menace Return of the Jedi Revenge of the Sith Rogue One A New Hope Empire Strikes Back I was so bummed by Last Jedi that I refused to watch Solo. Actually I completely forgot about the Clone Wars film. I'd probably put it ahead of Last Jedi. Its still not great though.
Here's mine 10th place. episode 8 this movie didn't really feel like star wars, plus this was by far Luke skywalkers worst appearance, and he was my favorite in the OT. even the actor of Luke agrees. 9th place. episode 9 same as 8 but I at least somewhat enjoyed when the force ghost came back. 8th.place. episode 7 this is the only sequel that I don't really dislike. but still not my cup of tea 7th. place episode 2 this is my least favorite true star wars movie, out of the 6 movies this one was the least interesting 6th place clone wars. I don't really get how this movie gets so much hate. yeah the jabbas son part isn't very entertaining, but the entire section on christosife was the best part. 5th place episode 1. I don't get the hate with this one nethier. I agree that Jar Jar was not a very good character. but outside of that I enjoyed watching movie. 4th place episode 3. by far the most important star wars movie. 3rd place episode 5. wait what the best is 3rd. All my favorite parts were in hoth and Bespin. The middle parts was decent but kinda dragged on. 2nd place episode 4. its hard to tell why I like, but I just really like it. 1st place episode 6 I'm a little surprise my favorite star wars movie is consider the weakest of the OT. but I always have the most enjoyment with this one.
It's easy to tell how old commenters are. Anyone who puts Revenge of the Sith in the top 3 was a child when it was released. Anyone who had a fully developed brain at the time recognized how bad it was.
Asinine argument, by the way, and people said the exact same thing about empire. By this logic , the original trilogy dropped that when you were a kid and you were too myopic to see everything wooden about it

Don't forget to share YOUR Star Wars movie ranking!
My top 3 are
#3: Return of the Jedi
#2: Empire Strikes Back
#1: Revenge of the Sith
Bro you have the same ranking as me
Agreed
My number 1, not popular but I've never in my life looked forward to a movie like I did Return of the Jedi. The huge finality of the Ultimate Good against the Ultimate Bad. At the time this was the end of everything Starwars and that battle didn't disappoint. I also feel that Luke and Darth had the best duel in this movie. Impact has to count for something and this fight was for the Galaxy.
I think you need grammarly 🤣
My ranking is VERY close, practically the same. Cool video/commentary
Look out the window and go up, it's really dumb
Good ranking and great insight on these films man 👍

Just earned a sub. Great commentary and editing.
Thank you!
Revenge of the Sith was the best
The only sci-fi film that is at 'The Empire Strikes Back's' level isn't a 'Star Wars' movie, it is the second 'Star Trek' film, 'Wrath of Khan'!
(I Edited this just to add the following note...)
When I say 'SCI-FI' I must make it clear that there is ONE film above both 'Empire' & 'Khan', and that is '2001-A Space Odyssey'!
(I'll give credit too to Interstellar for being a successor to 2001.)
Even more TL;DR version - I highly like and recommend TMP. (Flame suit activated!)
Good ranking! I always appreciate hearing other opinions on Star Wars. I’m getting ready to revisit these again for my yearly watch, and I anticipate 2 of these swapping places, but here’s my ranking right now:
12. Rise of Skywalker
11. The Clone Wars
10. The Last Jedi
9. Solo
8. The Force Awakens
7. Rogue One
6. Attack of the Clones
5. The Phantom Menace
4. Revenge of the Sith
3. A New Hope
2. Return of the Jedi
1. The Empire Strikes Back
Generic in some ways, I know, but I anticipate Episode 3 overtaking 4, and Jedi is MUCH closer to ESB for me than it is for others.
12. Last Jedi
11. Force Awakens
10. Rise of Skywalker
9. Clone Wars
8. Revenge of the Sith
7. Solo
6. Attack of the Clones
5. Phantom Menace
4. Rogue One
3. Empire Strikes Back
2. Return of the Jedi
1. A New Hope
My opinion stick to yours
I've changed my ranking to this
12. Last Jedi
11. Force Awakens
10. Rise of Skywalker
9. Clone Wars
8. Attack of the Clones
7. Solo
6. Revenge of the Sith
5. Phantom Menace
4. Rogue One
3. Empire Strikes Back
Porkins, I always wondered who it was that actually liked Jar Jar. Now I know of one person that liked him.
Haha. I’m weird like that.
Revolutionary
1. A New Hope
2. Empire Strikes Back
Cinema
3. The Last Jedi
4. Revenge of the Sith
Just Good
5. Return of the Jedi
6. The Force Awakens
7. Attack of the Clones
Flat out terrible
8. Rise of Skywalker
9. The Phantom Menace
That's my ranking.

From the best to the worst episode 4 episode 5. Rogue one episode three episode one episode two and fuck the last three

I think Tiers better represent it for me though as several movies are interchangeable for me, and the gap between the good and the bad is bigger then a single number suggests:
S: ESB, ANH
A: RotS, RO
B: TFA, Solo
C:
D: TPM, TRoS, AoTC, RotJ
F: TLJ, Clone Wars
Recently rewatched them all with my wife (who hadn't seen them before) and had some surprising take aways.
First 3 are exact same as mine . Although on any given day I could put animated clone wars movies above the sequels
Mine from worst to best would go
Rise of skywalker
Phantom menace
Last jedi
Force awakens
Solo
Attack of the clones
Rouge one
Return of the Jedi
A new hope
Empire strikes back
Revenge of the sith
Empire strikes back is my #1. It’s the first time I ever seen the bad guys win at the end
Plus finding out Darth Vader was Luke’s Father scene was still one of the best scenes ever
Any of the last 2 movies are in watchable
I thought I might get some answer
They had weapons disappear from bad guys hand then reappeared just so the girl can escape
No holograms when looking at empires ships chasing the rebels when they where killing one ship at a time why I don’t know but the radar that they used looked like a 1979 video game
They just didn’t care
Including Disney Wars on a Star Wars list is a mistake
Placing any Disney Wars movie over a Star Wars movie is an epic fail.
My favorite star wars movies are a new hope empire strikes back return of the Jedi attack of the clones star wars the clone wars revenge of the sith and rogue one
Marshall, ever hear of a comma? They are very useful for separating items in a list. 😉
I always said that AOTC should’ve been the first movie in the saga with some parts of TPM included. Then instead of AOTC we get a live action clone wars movie that develops anakins fall to the dark side making it more realistic, also making the betrayal of the clones even more impactful.
one word UNDERRATED
also i think the phantom menace is underrated i think its even better then attack on the clones. Also i think the force awakens deserves a higher place, its not that good and attack on the clones and the phantom menace is just better in my opinon.

Pfft ;)
It's strange that the best Star Wars live action series also contains Cassian Andor, Melshi and Mon Mothma.

Dissapointing that you would stick to the film snob approved ESB is the best opinion. Im convinced this only came about because of Lucas being a bit of an outsider to hollyweird. Its the messiest film of the originals.
1. Empire Strikes Back - greatest movie ever made, and while eclipsed by the prequel fight choreography, Luke vs Vader 1 is the greatest duel visually and impactfully
2. I'm a blue saber guy and graflex saber is THE definitive saber design for me
3. Revenge of the Sith - this and Jedi are so, so close, Anakin vs Obi-Wan is fantastic, high ground aside
4. A New Hope - without this we have nothing
5. Rogue One - it was actually a Star Wars movie - this will be the only non-Lucas movie I rank... It just felt good, and the starfighter battle was thrilling
6. Attack of the Clones - I buck the trend in that, wooden dialog aside, I like this movie, and seeing Yoda go ham on Dooku was a thrill in the theater
Solo? Couldn't be bothered to watch it so I'm not going to comment.
r1 the end
Attack of the Clones and The Force awakens are somewhere in the middle for me.
sorry but rots will always be the best
@@bmeenu9 Of course, you're entitled to your personal opinion.
I like the clone wars movie 2008 didn't hate it the show was epic classic grew up watch the show i like the original 4 5 6 and 1 2 3 the new ones 7 8 9 sucked ass lol.
Rise of Skywalker was the best Star Wars movie, you're a hater
@@oletretre6051Leia has always been Jedi after Endor, do you even know about Star Wars ?
There are only six films.
#RIPStarWars
Yep
Agree 100% although I don’t dislike the force awakens I hate the other two but force awakens is actually good in my opinion probably because it’s a replica of a new hope but….don’t kill me here…..I actually prefer the force awakens to a new hope in terms of enjoyability to watch, not to say a new hope is bad I just don’t think it’s as fun to watch nowadays. A new hopes story is better though.
Wrong
There are only 4 films - Episodes 4 - 7.
1. The Empire Strikes Back
2 + 3 (tied): A New Hope / Return of the Jedi
4: Revenge of the Sith
5. Rogue One
6 + 7: Attack of the Clones / The Force Awakens
8: The Phantom Menace
9: Solo?? (I think I've only seen it once and I think I might like it more upon rewatch)
10: The Clone Wars
11 + 12: The Rise of Skywalker / The Last Jedi
clearly I'm bad at making decisions but you get the idea. it's hard for me not to put RotS in the top 3 but the originals have always been my favorites and I have such a soft spot for them.
1: ROTS
2: Rogue one
3: empire
4/5: a new hope tied with ROTJ
6: attack of the clones
7: phantom menace
8: TFA
9: solo
10: the last jedi
11: the rise of Skywalker
12: clone wars (only seen it ones)
Really liked your list but I think rogue one is one of the most entertaining movies overall and it does not have any plot holes. I just can’t watch a new hope without first watching rogue one. And ROTS is 1 because every second is entertaining otherwise I can agree with your list 100%. Great video
I also think the storytelling is equally good in the top 5 therefor I mostly go of how entertaining they are
Not too bad. Here's mine:
1. Empire Strikes Back
2. A New Hope
3. Return Of The Jedi
4. Revenge Of The Sith
5. Rogue One
6. Phantom Menace
7. Force Awakens
8. Solo
9. Attack Of The Clones
10. Last Jedi
11. Clone Wars 2008
12. Holiday Special
13. Rise Of Skywalker
Can you make a video on doomcock
I dunno, after a brief google search I'm intrigued to check him out but don't know if I'd want to do a video on that.

10. Attack Of The Clones
9. Solo
8. Return Of The Jedi
7. Revenge Of The Sith
6. The Last Jedi
5. The Rise Of Skywalker
4. Rogue One
3. The Force Awakens
2. A New Hope
1. Empire Strikes Back
Rise of skywalker pisses me off the whole message saying okay killing your family member if they are evil which is complete opposite of return of the Jedi this why I consider Luke a true Jedi while Rey is a fake one considering how she acted during fights.
@@deadshot5007 it really lost all meaning there no connection between Rey and Palpatine he was an ultimate evil in Lucas movies but he just a joke.
The rise of shitwalker is the worst movie I’ve ever seen
Rise of Skywalker
Last Jedi
Force Awakens
Attack of the Clones
Phantom Menace
Return of the Jedi
Revenge of the Sith
Rogue One
A New Hope
Empire Strikes Back
I was so bummed by Last Jedi that I refused to watch Solo. Actually I completely forgot about the Clone Wars film. I'd probably put it ahead of Last Jedi. Its still not great though.
Here's mine
10th place. episode 8 this movie didn't really feel like star wars, plus this was by far Luke skywalkers worst appearance, and he was my favorite in the OT. even the actor of Luke agrees.
9th place. episode 9 same as 8 but I at least somewhat enjoyed when the force ghost came back.
8th.place. episode 7 this is the only sequel that I don't really dislike. but still not my cup of tea
7th. place episode 2 this is my least favorite true star wars movie, out of the 6 movies this one was the least interesting
6th place clone wars.
Well, Anakin fanboys have taken over Star Wars
Asinine argument, by the way, and people said the exact same thing about empire. By this logic , the original trilogy dropped that when you were a kid and you were too myopic to see everything wooden about it
