I have literally been trying to figure out my toggle switch with the wiring that I put in all damn day! The main picture from the video before you click in helped more than anything! I cut off a fuse and wires from a Bluetooth strip light set, hooked that up to the battery, and blew one fuse before I looked at the picture.. hooked it up that way and voilà
I want to replace an older on/off nonlighting swith in my RV. I only have two wires to work with coming from my RV, one black and one red. What do I do with the third prong on my new lighted switch?
Take the power, which is the positive to one side of the switch and the other side of the switch to the load. The negative, which is the black to the end of the switch, you will have too black wire one from the switch to the load and the other battery. Hope this helps.
So I have one of these switches to operate 2 leds spotlights in series in my campervan i'm building. The wiring is already laid behind the cladding and is inaccessible but I can access the switches wiring. Thing is I want the light on the switch to be ON permanently how would you normally do this do you need to break the negative cable make a three way connection and connect it to the brass terminal on the switch? Thing is I don't think I can access the negative cable, its buried behind the cladding. Could I simply run a short negative cable from the brass terminal of the switch and ground it onto the van chassis nearby? Or would that create a problem for the circuit??
LOL! I bought something similar and the top cover of the switch is in reverse! Fortunately you can disassemble it and put i back without damage, just pull out the cover from the sides.
@@AlwynNicholas if i can disconnect the light than it's not gonna be this hot? ok i'll try that tomorrow morning. 220v switch mean i have to make adjustment to the back socket my amplifier case and that alone makes it the very last option to me thank you very much for your fast reply. congrats you just got your self a new subscriber
Great video, very informative. The question I have, maybe you can help. Is there a switch where where the power is separate. I just want the switch to close a circuit and not send power through the line. I would like the indicator lights power to be separate. Help pleaseeeee lol
Would it be beneficial to wire these to a 4 pin relay or is that a dumb idea since the switch will have the built in led light connected to pin 30 amd gnd and getting that full amperage anyway?
ok, can i get some help here. i have a switch wired from a 15a fuse to the switch to a relay to my led lights. my switch does not light up. but the led lights go on.
@@AlwynNicholas yes, I hooked up another switch same way and decided to purchase another switch it's all good, it was a bad switch or light in the switch
Can I use a 12V 20A toggle switch in my motorbike which has a 12V 9A battery? I want to use it for controlling a pair of 12V 20W fog lights. Is it wise to install it on my bike without using any relay?
The relay is there to protect you and the bike, the switch isn't waterproof you should get an IP65 / 68 waterproof switch and see the manual for the light for the right fuse.@@daexplorogist1781
Great video. Question...I'm new (self taught) to electrical engineering, repair + maintenance of ebikes. I installed a 4-light system on ebike - backlight, high beam (×1) and low beam (×2). I run everything through a 12v/24v power source (bank). Recently, I decided to add rocker switch (×2) to separate high be from low beam. I noticed that the LED indicators on the rockers will sometimes work, sometimes not but the lights will always work. I've looked for shorts, can't find anything. Power source is rated for 12v/24v. I register 28.5v on multimeter when everything is turned on. Could this be the cause why the rocker lights don't work? I've switched out rockers twice....same result. Hope u can help. Great video. /bklyn 👑
Straight to the point. I watched your video because it was the shortest option. Thanks

With these rocker switches, do you use inline fuse holders to the battery? Or is the fuses only use for the ACC line to the led lights? Or both?
You should do a video with the same rocker switch with an inline fuse holder and some led light strips.
He made it look so simple! I felt stupid!
You didn't have to.
Perfect job. Just what I was looking for. 👍 and liked as well. Thanks
Thanks.
Hi. First, thank you for the video.
Second, if my battery is 9V, will the LED in the switch still light up when I press the switch?
I have tried 2 switches wired as you show, and neither of them will illuminate the LED. Do you have any idea of what’s going on?

Very informative sir. Thank you!
I need to know the inside. The rocker plate is moving around in my switch how do I make the plate sit in there properly so it will work?
Hi I want to ask , when I connected all cables according a video , everithing is working but the switch is heating. It is correct ?
I tried with 230v line line and ground on the gold pin..it s on off but without led light...
this was simple and to the point
Thanks
Is it the same if i use 25 amperes toggles switch? Thanks
Yes, remember what you are using it on. You should have it fused.
❤do you need to connect any fuse before the switch 🤔
Yss.

Ok thanks

Why does the light turns off when you press the switch? I've seen rocker switches that work the other way around
Your mistaken. The light on turns on to indicate power to your accessory
I only want to know how many mm the price is
Thanks very helpful boss 💯🙋♂️
You welcome.
i used this rocker switch for my amplifier running with 24v 6a adapter and it's very hot. is it safe or should i change it?
The switch is 12v and not 24v you can get a 120v or 220v but put a fuse in line with your application. Or you can disconnect the light on the switch.

is there a switch for 24 volts DC and 20 amps?
Yes this is the link amzn.to/3uXq1G3
if i want the light is on, the led on the switch is off...
when light is off, the led on the switch is on...
how to do that?
The load positive to the top pin, the power from the battery to the center pin and the ground or negative to the gold pin.

The switch will only work for 12v an not 24v.
The rocker switch only works with 12v an not 24v.
Why does mine have a 4th wire going into the side
You have a main switch which is a on off, 4 pin. light or power rocker switch.
Thanks alot
thank you

Warum nicht gleich so, alle wirbeln immer um den heißen Brei. Hier nicht! Danke
Had to laugh . People . just look at the side on your switch it tells you the contacts ... Not all switches are wired the same as the one in video .
Thank you
