YES! Believe in ones Self! Singer Joey Ramone was so unique. Super tall but very weird and odd looking. Serious OCD. If not for the Ramones, his mom expected he would always live at home and be unemployed. Punk rock works wonders for weirdos!!! Long live Joey and the others!
Gotta love the Ramones, here in Argentina they used to come play at stadiums. We miss them, most of them they are not longer with us. God bless them and god bless you all 💚
Joey Ramone was a bit of a miracle. He was a pretty unlikely lead singer. He was 6' 6", skinny as a twig and he had a number of mental issues including obsessive-compulsive disorder and schizophrenia. The Ramones really paved their own way by working hard. They toured constantly and created an entirely new genre of music that caught on worldwide. That incessant touring takes its toll on people. The primary members of the Ramones died in their early 50s. They are still loved by millions.
"Beat On The Brat", "Return Of Jackie And Judy", "I Wanna Be Sedated", "The KKK Took My Baby Away", and a more mellowish song that's good is "Danny Says". Joey was a big fan of oldies music and they do some cool versions of songs like "Needles And Pins", "Baby I Love You", "Indian Giver", "California Sun". Joey solo doing "What A Wonderful World" is awesome.
BJ, speaking of all the odds. Can I call you two the Odds? Lol jk. But I love this band and I think the lyrics are about the singer. He was very weird and did not do well in life until he became a punk singer. Ramones got signed in NYC. First album was 1976. They hit England and the Sex Pistols, Clash, Damned, Buzzcocks, etc all popped up!!
I think people might think they were not punk rockers because of their hairstyles. But Ramones formed in 1974, when hip dudes had long hair. But not the straight bowl cut like the guitarist. So that throws people off, because it's somewhat opposite hairstyle from many punks
They would sing like this and would be mad at each for many years and never had fun mad and gave most of money to there mangers but end now they won in death a great band and music money of saling 💿 album
Joey was born with a parasitic twin growing out of his back , which was incompletely formed and surgically removed , thus the reference to being a miracle and still being alive.

I'm not particularly a fan of this era of the Ramones, but the way the drums sound here are a miracle, pun intended.
