Jacob had no stake in you when you first came off the boat. But he trusted you with a gun for his deal, and he became fiercely loyal to you.
Jacob is one of the best GTA friends in the entire series.

@@fatkrab7556 The thing is, unlike most of the other characters in GTA games, he is not a caricature. He's not heavily flawed like everyone else. Little Jacob as a character could be in a serious crime drama and you'd believe he's a real person. A Rasta Weed-smoking drug and gun runner that controls his corner of the underworld with the Jamaican mafia the Yardies. GTA is all about over the top people, yet Jacob is the most grounded person, at least in comparison to everyone else and besides the protags. Badman was over the top. Badman was a caricature.
Jacob is the realist guy in the series... okay, maybe next to Cesar.
@@Supperdude9 Yea, the only thing Jacob was a caricature of, would be of the typical Jamaican male steryotipe. But, still, he is a very serious character. The stories he tells about Badman in his meetups with niko also show the contrast of that.

This betrayal makes it even more infuriating after we fought our way out of the abandoned hospital as well as almost died from the large swarm of cops as well only for Michelle to come foward and say that she is a fed 🤦♂️

I liked the twist, it made Michelle a tough female character, she and Elizabetha are the most tough women in GTA 4.

The moment niko realized her furniture was all new and she tried to sneakily take the tag off, I knew she was a fed. Never hung with her lol
When I was in my early teens I hated Michelle, because of it. When I grew older I started to understand that even though Michelle was a rat from the start, she actually grew to like Niko. Otherwise this scene wouldn't exist: she liked him, and even though she chose her career, she had the guts to face him and tell him in his face about all the stuff - when she could have easily ghosted him. Just shows what kind of relationships people on the different sides of barricades could have.
I understand why people hate her, but I never did, I always felt just as sorry for her as I did for Niko. She wanted to be with Niko, but her career would never allow it.
I even had hope during my first playthrough so many years ago that maybe she would reach back out to Niko and go behind the IAA's back to be with him (which would've been extremely interesting to be fair.) But let's be honest it would never work out, and they both know it.

There's actually hints about her working for the government. On Niko's dates with her, you'll notice that she constantly talks and asks if someone is a criminal or if they work for the Mafia.

As much as I think what happened between Niko and Michelle was tragic, if it wasn’t actually for Michelle, Niko would probably never have found Darko Brevic; Michelle was the turnkey to ULP and Gravelli, and those were the people who had the resources and power to bring Niko what he wanted. It’s all very tragic, but Michelle actually helped Niko in a good but extremely twisted way.
Plus he wouldve been arrested and given a life sentence for all those murders if ULP didn't protect him

She had feelings for Niko, too. You can tell how hard this is for her. She apologizes profusely even though she doesn't have to. She also doesn't have to tell them the Feds are about to get Elizabeta (and she probably isn't even supposed to, because they could warn her, and she could try and flee.)
In gta5, she's hardened up from being a full-fledged agent, but here you could really tell she felt guilty. And Niko saying "You fucking bitch!" definitely rocked her.

It’s just Heartbreaking everytime to think Michelle betrayed Niko and revealed the truth of her other side. Still, I doubt that she just was just a big fraud faking her personality in front of Niko. Michelle probably still exists somewhere inside Karen because Niko is a *CHAD GENTLEMAN* who once made her feelings truly genuine at some point in their relationship proving that she did love him. Michelle literally expressed how upset she was when she learned Niko had been getting into some *coca cola business.* She even begged for him not to make it any harder as it already is for her. When Niko called her a *fricking beetch,* I can literally feel the genuine pain in her voice when she simply called his name, damn it, that was hurtful to watch as the moment carries on and slowly tears their relationship apart.

My 9 year old self was so shocked and devastated. Replaying the story with adult lenses has opened my eyes to how suspicious Michelle was. Her questions and conclusions would always steer towards crime.
When I replayed the game years back, I felt so dumb for not realizing this. But I was a kid so I should cut myself some slack 😂

I mean after playing San Andreas and dating the 6 crazy women 7 counting Catalina I just assumes she was a freaky weirdo who had a crazy fascinating with crime stuff just thought it was her weird obsession but didn't realize she would be so relevant to the story like none of the GTA San Andreas girlfriends are that important to the story and you can date them forever so this was definitely a shock for me as a kid

Guys, I have a problem. I've finished gta Iv on ps3 multiple times before. Now It's my first time playing it on PC. I had two dates with Michelle and after the second one I didn't ask to go inside. Then I got a dislike and now every time I ask her on a date she says she doesn't want to meet Niko. A lot of time has passed and I guess it's kind of a bug or something. Any advise?
