Well, this one is taking me DAYYYYZZZZ. I followed this video to the letter until 2:47 on the video. My phone & 21P did not connect to my cell phone. I did have the slow blinking light & phone & camera were on same WiFi network.
+howard2374 I finally called FOSCAM Support and allowed 'Jonathan' to remotely connect to my computer. [went to Uninstall and uninstalled programs I didn't want] He finally got me up and running. Instructions leave out things that need to be done.
Are you able to view the captured video over the internet?
how do you logon to this camera using a mac and safari? I keep getting a timeout. It logons from windows computer with edge or IE but not on mac.
For the email setting I set it to text my phone carrier when motion triggers, but it takes 50 sec !! that's awhile. is that about average? also can I get snapshot or video in the text? thanks

Hi, I don't have a qr code on my cam, I bought it from foscam directly, there are 3 sets of numbers under the cam, which do I use? Help.

I called support and the agent was rude. It took 30 minutes to connect. First thing I told her was that my QR code was missing, and asked if I would be able to connect without it. "No problem" She said, then she paused for a minute (literally one minute) then starts going through her script. Second thing she asked me to do was scan my QR code. I asked her if she understood me when I told her what my issue was, she paused again then hung up on me.
I have F19831P (V2), 1.3 MP instead of 1.0 MP. I cannot get the video to pan and rotate. One Foscam Tech Support told me to use "Foscam" a light blue cloud logo, but this app is not shown in Play Store in my LG Leon Android phone.
This is my 3 1/2 week trying to solve the outside connection to my home camera F19831P (V2) on the iPhone which has cellouse network. There are other issues for connecting LG phone using local Wi-Fi from outside to my home camera,
I also want to set up for laptop, iPad2 and iPad2 Mini. The only Foscam app from manufacturer can allow the video to pan and rotate is iPhone.
This is big issue if I can not get access from outside to my home IP camera..
Please, especaily Foscam US Tech Support to reply. I think time to create another video for F19831P if the installation is different. From this is video, I do not know if the video is connected through local Wi-Fi or cellouse network. I have no issue
using local Wi-Fi to setup, pan, rotate, record; connecting from outside to my home is a big issue. This is my only reason to buy this camera. I do not need IP camera to check my home when I am home.
How do you test thte mobile phone for cellouse network connection at home? What I did was to disable Wi-Fi in the iphone setting, then tap the camera in the Foscam Viewer app to connect. It did not work "Login failed:Connection Failed". Then I changed to DDNS URL connection, enter address, port no., it did not connect, same error message. I enable the WI-Fi, then the camera connects.
"P" suffix is P2P using their EZLink to simplfy the setup, no need to set port forward in the router. If it works then it is easy but it is not for me. I have been spending 3 1/2 weeks try to figure what's wrong connecting from outside.
In the IE web browser, I followed the installation manual to configue. In the network section, I enable P2P, DDNS and UPnP.
Just look down the replies. Foscam Tech Support did not reply to any of the reply. I waste my typing. I have raise the issues with Tech support, call few times, get nowhere. Then I posted in their forum, they sugguest to use third party software instead telling me how to fix the outside connection issue.
Some things ask for UID, where is the UID?? I've tried to fill in some data but none of them looks like long letters and numbers behind another like the example. I've forwarded the entire range of possible numbers in the universe in my router. I've factory reset several times and started new, I used the 88 and 888 ports to keep it as basic as I could for now and even that didn't work. If I changed those even the time in the cam wouldn't update and went back to 1970.
The Gmail settings didn't work either on the test, getting time out/wrong handshake or authentification fail. I've tried all the combinations TLS with all the known numbers 465, 587, 25 blah combined with the Starttl and blah. Some ppl said I need SSL but we don't have that option.
How n where vedios would be saved
Regarding those cams I could not find anything online about recording , not enough clearly( no details) like this info is hidden on purpose.

and of course for free. Please fill me in if there is any option.
Because recording to DVR or sm card is not good option .

I tried looking for some Firmware and it said: If the first three sections are the same as the one you are going to upgrade, you can upgrade it safely
What first three sections??? Why is it a puzzle? Do you mean the picture then the modelnumber and the firmware?

So how do you connect the camera without WPS?
+LegacyMicro via the CAT 5 cable. One end of LAN cable in the camera, the other end of the cable into your router. Which restricts where the camera can be placed.
Just in case anyone cares, Foscam US is no longer offering remote installation or any help other than links to videos. This is my 4th Foscam, and if I'd known they were no longer going to support them (basically out of business) I wouldn't have bought this one. BTW there are various apps not created by Foscam that work with the cameras

What do you do if you don't have a Iphone to scan with?
+RETUSAF1995 My guess would be to view it on your computer. I recommend you get a 'smart phone'. Also USAF Ret. Fly High, Fly Air Force. :-)

For your info dumby I purchased it used off of ebay because I can't afford a new one. I wish Foscam made stuff to compete with axis to lower the prices of Axis. Good competition between manufacturers is almost always better for the consumer. Until they do Axis will be able to continue charging 1.5k for cameras. Furthermore Foscam doesn't make a ptz camera that zooms near 27X which is why I made the statement to begin with

AiorosRovelo connect via LAN cable and make wireless settings accordingly... then remove the LAN and place it wherever you need to fix it..within the wifi range
Opwanable, I can look left and right but only in the area where I happen to be standing. With my seven cameras I can view the entire perimeter in seconds, and that's during the daytime. If there is a threat, I like having the ability to asses it before confronting. 99% of the time I can just stay on the couch. Sweeeet!
That's fine as long as you have upnp enabled or rules allowed. Don't like the fact that their isn't a default password for it.
In the Foscam Client, all it sees is the camera with search but no pictures, no control, can't edit or add anything. Tried the whole thing with the P2P guide, youtube etc

You people who say there's no Bar Code should realize you got the non Bar Code version. The one with Bar Code cost extra.
THE CAM IS NOT GOOD. AFTER A COUPLE OF MONTH THE INFRA RED LED WILL NOT WORK ANYMORE!

I have this one. I have had several. The wifi will work for a year or 2 but eventually, it just quits. These cams are junk.
Good that Foscam learned to copy Geeya or other cheaper Chines camera. Now if only they could learn to lower the prices, have better manner, acknowledge their manufacturing flaws, have Customer Service....
That is not port forwarding this set up is for local viewing within your wifi range, to view this cam outside of your wifi range you will still have to set up port forwarding....fail.
I don't know what you are trying to do, but are you saying if he walks across the street with the phone, he will lose the feed?
Josef Roesler yes he will only be able to pick up his camera while he's in his local wifi range to set it so you can see cam while away from home you will need to set up port forwarding on your wifi's router to allow your camera to access the Internet so you can view your feed from anywhere in the world. Hope this helps.
Flash photography I'm sure it is helpful, but it does not help ME since I don't understand. I'm about to buy one and now I'm confused.
Josef Roesler hi I'm sorry if I've confused you please don't let this put you off it is pretty easy once you've got your head round it. If you want to view this your cam while at home follow steps in video above, if you would like to view your camera while away from home for instance at work or round a friends house you will have to configure your wifi router I can show you how to do this its not as technical as it sounds, the camera works via your local wifi meaning it is not on the internet look for video about port forwarding a ip cam. Who is your service provider?

Where is the reference to un-needed port forwarding. I have a complete Foscam Setup but only use the cameras remotely when I am away. As for support from the US forget it, non existent and a UK phone number is never answered. As for the price, buy one and subscribe by email and you will be bombarded by special offers by entering discount codes. I have to admit my set up works a treat but only because I am quite tech savvy, if I had to deal with Foscam directly I think my purchasing decision would have been very different. Had an emailed response from them which was signed Toobad .. nice !
useless, not plug and play. spent an hour trying to set up...returning it
