I did not know this. Jazakallahu khair. I was going to put my savings into gold and buy from the royal mint online. But now I will go to a physical store to buy gold.
May Allah bless you shk, I have really learned so much from you and it has helped me to avoid what is not permissible in Islam and according to the shariah.
He is talking about gold & silver specifically. Here are some references: It was narrated that ‘Ubaadah ibn as-Saamit (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Gold for gold, silver for silver, like for like, same for same, hand to hand. If any of these thing are different, then sell however you like, so long as it is hand to hand.” Narrated by Muslim (2970). Muslim (1586) narrated from Maalik ibn Aws ibn al-Hadathaan, that he said: I was going around saying: Who will exchange dirhams (for my gold)? Talhah ibn ‘Ubaydullah, who was with ‘Umar ibn al-Khattaab, said: Show us your gold, then come to us later, when our servant comes, and we will give you your silver. ‘Umar ibn al-Khattaab said: No, by Allah! Either give him his silver (now) or give him back his gold, for the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Silver for gold is riba, unless it is exchanged on the spot; wheat for wheat is riba, unless it is exchanged on the spot; barley for barley is riba, unless it is exchanged on the spot; dates for dates is riba unless it is exchanged on the spot.”
Can you provide where this can be referenced from the sunnah? Sorry this just doesnt make sense as from my own perspective it doesnt appear to cause any harm or loss to anyone & is more of a convenience. Would you also say ordering food or products from a delivery service is also haram? There is really no difference.
I did some reasearch, their is some item that are "Ribawi". And the difference between receive it instantly or delay is that when it's delayed there can be intrest in it (Riba) because the value can change between the time you bought it until it goes to your home. But i've read that for jewlerry it's not exactly the same because ur not just buying gold as money so mybe it's not Ribawi (there's many opinion). And Allah swt knows best
@@ovna Salam, this video left me with confusion. So it's also haram for example to order olive oil from internet, as the value can increase/decrease during the shipping time (that's happening in morocco for exemple btw)? Which is not from the products the sheikh mentions. I will also do my research, please let me know if you know more. Allah know best.
It opens the door for other practices. Example typically with gold- you buy online, but the seller doesn’t actually have the item in hand. Then he goes to buy it, but has several derivatives backing his purchase to cover the risk that he betted on. The first arrangement is called “shorting”. The second has many names but is essentially betting. I’ve only mentioned 2 things but there’s many other forms that arise which are prohibited practices

@sarojam3360 very easy answers to your questions, brother. I advise you to research more into Islam and learn and be surprised by how elegantly those questions have been answered. I am no sheikh, but I will attempt to answer with the little knowledge I have. Allah put a test for us on this Earth and we get to take this test. If we pass it, we get rewarded. If we fail it so miserably, we get punished. It is the same as any concept in life. You go to work, if you do good, u get paid or even promoted. If you do bad after many warnings, you get fired. This system is the same in every aspect of life like school, marriage, friendship u name it. As far as people before the Quran you should know that Islam has always existed since the creation of men. Islam simply means to submit to God. Only one God. Allah said in the Quran that he has sent more than 100,000 prophets and messengers over time to different tribes of people across times. Allah has always made a way to warn people. Allah also stated that he judges people differently. Not all the same way and he is the most merciful that even forgives people who are not always doing good as we are humans and we make mistakes so let's ask that Allah forgives us and strengthen our Iman or faith and keep us on the straight path. Amen.
