Keep posting this great info; allot of people just like me, did not have any one to show them how to ride. Had to get my own bike and teach my self, videos like this are priceless. Thanks guys great job!
I bought my first kx125 3 years ago and the old guy I bought from is like super old school. Riding for like 55 years. He actually had an old 50cc that he teaches new riders on, literally removed my fear of riding in 10 minutes. Now on my second kx125 and buying a new kx250 for xmas 2019!
Just finished riding at a new track today. I hadn't ridden in 3 years on a track and I already felt better than I did before because of these few videos you guys have created! Thank you for the great lessons and continue with what you do!
Great to hear that! Thanks for watching and please let us know if you have questions or video recommendations on things you want to learn. Especially because your new riders we want to make sure we have plenty of videos to help ya’ll.
Absolutely agree with everything you said. Would also like to add that standing up puts your weight on the pegs instead of the seat. Automatically lowers your center of gravity by about 18 inches. Great vid.
2 year old comment but still, that ain’t how the center of gravity works. Your mass hasn’t moved to your legs. So no standing does lower your center of gravity.
Thanks for these tips! I’ve been getting used to my new bike on trails by myself before taking it to the track to embarrass myself lol. Feeling a little better about it now, thanks to your videos
I broke my femur on my Honda CRF250R back in 2017. I just recently looked back at the video that my dad took when it happened, and I was sitting too far back on the bike, my knees were pointed out, my arms were low, I was sitting down, and I was slouched. I’m recently getting back into dirt biking, I’m better than I ever was before, I still have a long way to go but your videos have been helping me a lot. Thank you!
Good video. I've learned these over the years now getting into motocross late in life. It's good to have a refresher of these simple tips. I find myself having to correct myself until they become second nature. Thanks!
I also notice that the looking down issue introduces another problem with rutts, if looking down you'll start to second guess you rutts and wind up in two.
this has happened to me too many times to count, especially in sand… now i just gas it out and fix my bike if it ever gets sideways instead of overthinking ruts
I like point #5. Bc I found myself doing that with the elbows down. And thx so much Mxfactory I have learned so much from watching your videos. Keep up the good work!.
U where really fall down getting accident to show us how would be , teach us with reality how it's affects ...best person ever 👏💕💯✨ u can teach people faster & easier u would be an professional teacher/master 💯
If I had to guess they are from a different country and doing their best to say something nice in a language that isn’t there’s. Give them a break Storm_Toaster. Life being friendly is a much better life to live.
Dudes your the best I love your sense of humor, youse gotses some crazy mad riding skills.you make me raff,I like when you ride feet pointing out, knees out it makes you look so flashes more flailing arms and limbs, hah hah, yeah I used to get a lot crap from my friends.when I was on a two stroke for trying to roll the throttle on like I was road racing, they actually hanging over the fence with their fists and arm in the throttle pinned position, now we've come full circle back to a four stroke again, you did super job about the elbows up,it took me a long time to break the road racer elbows, elbows up real lets you move forward better, elbows down you can't move forward on the bike, and you really get push towards the back of bike you did a great job demonstrating the crash that results from be back to far,I like the dumb founded look too I could see it right thru your full face Helmut...priceless...nice really nice...
Yeah I really don’t suggest sitting while riding. I was 3rd fear full throttle while sitting and I hit a bump and I flew over my hand bars and crashed hardcore. If I wasn’t sitting and had my knees tucked in I wouldn’t have crashed. This video helped a lot and made me a more confident rider!
Thanks man I used to race bikes for a while and quit about 3 years later but I'm gonna start riding for fun again thanks for re teaching me these tips for when I get another bike
Hi, I live in Québec,Canada. I'm french but sorry for my English. I look youre videos since a few weeks and i really appreciate all of them. Thanks for our support! You are so funny and professional in same time. I ride my first dirt bike at 39 years old, for this first season, i buy a 150cc. But it will be too short for me really fast. The next season I buy a ttr 230 and now i am on the track! Thanks again!
Once I was driving my pit bike down the road and looked over at a deer in the field and ended up driving across my neighbors yard. don’t look away for too long😂😂
i was a bit aprehensive before buying my first bike on how i'll manage the riding, turns out most of those tips also apply to downhill mtb, a sport i ve been doing for years, thanks for the advices, it gave me a lot of confidence :D
Thanks for the videos guys - just the perfect thing for new riders like me... relevant topics in small packages, so that it's easy to focus on perfecting a technique or two before moving on to the next one...
awesome tip about why you look ahead! ive herd it before but always explained as 'youll go where you look' which didnt make much sense to me and hence didnt stick with me. But i definitely have noticed a lot when racing that I dont have time to process stuff and that's why. Now ill remember it! thanks!!
I am glad i watched this video. This was all stuff i knew and tried to do as often as i could but now realizing what some of these riding mistakes can cause i will be practicing these a lot more and getting better.
i learned a few tricks from people at my local track… first: when riding whoops or something it helps to keep the bike straight by forcing your heels down when standing up, it keeps the bike straight when going through braking bumps or whoops, second: when going through a flat turn or any turn for that matter, it can help if you put more weight on the outside peg, it sounds counterintuitive but it helps keep the center of gravity over the wheels, rather than trying to wash out the wheels… good luck riding, stay safe out there!
Just subscribed! Good videos man it's very easy for me to watch these and be able to get the basic understanding of riding a dirt bike. Just started not to long ago
Nice videos guys. I think you forgot about sitting too far back on the bike, thats something o see a lot of riders do and i do it myself sometimes. But great job, thanks for the new vids
+Kevin Pilling Yes you're absolutely right, sitting too far back is a common mistake. We could have done Top 100 mistakes and had a 2 hour video pretty easily 👍🏻 But we'll address sitting too far back in an upcoming video. Thanks for the feedback!
Mistake 4: probably 5 or 6 years back I was at a local track and forgot to stand and got real bad whiplash. Do not forget to stand going over obstacles to avoid this, trust me when I say it ruins your day and it hurts a lot
Awesome videos I’m from the country I don’t have internet until recently. I’ve known about super cross and me and my cousin are really into it I’ve learned most of this stuff myself, almost everything you mentioned of the last 3 videos I watched of your channel and I’m surprised you hear im actually doing something right besides the elbow square. Thanks I’d definitely would recommend this channel to friends and for my own personal improvement.
another great and really useful video! continue the hard work with same passion (many video lack of this, and thats why make your videos probably the best) and the subscribers arrive soon. Can you make a video where you explain the driving on sand terrain especially the position on bumpy straight? it would be great thanks guys
Yeah these vids are like the best learning school for me. First enduro trip in my life 150kms and fell only once! thanks to Tyler's ( or Mx's :D ) body positioning ! ( and why did'nt I bought this thing earlier !!! ) All the best guys !!
Great video!! One note they mentíon not sitting too much because impact goes to your most important bone in the body :the spine > but I never see anyone wearing protection for their spine:/
Always good stuff from you guys, enjoying your videos always picking up little stuff like grab your grips like your opening a door never thought of it like that, that's all I'm saying with way to many " likes " lol, just saying motor on.
Idol more tutorial videos cause I want to learn more thank you for sharing your knowledge about motocross keep it up idol stay safe and God bless 🥰🥰🥰 #motocrossislife #ridesafealways
Something else a lot of people struggle with is not putting weight on the front wheel when turning. I still ride a 125 2s and sitting on my tank while clutching and putting weight on the pegs is key if I don’t want my front tire to wash out. Any tips on corner entry? I feel like braking with my rear tire and down shifting at the same time limits my control of the rear.
Another amazing vid! Keep up the awesome work with teaching us how to ride, you guys are gonna be responsible for the next, dungey or Roczen maybe even Stuart 😂
I'm newer to motocross the first bike I had was 50cc Suzuki amd recently I got a 2004 Yamaha ttr125l and I was brought out to the nearest track in my area and the first couple of obsitcals I went over I stood up and it was just nateral when I stood up but I did have the toes sticking out and non gripping knees problem
i just got a new bike and im learning this stuff but people are saying since i have been riding horses for so long my legs are usually tight and i look up because im so used to it. i was wondering if that would actually help me
3:10 I love when a fucking soccer kid says "You aren't even moving, the bike moves under you." and "How can you even get arm pump". That is the moment when I say, come over next weekend, and we'll see
sorta has something to do with not looking down... when I first started learning bmx i was riding through a parking lot and I had my head like 170 degrees going straight and my bike ended up turning to where my head was looking and well I went face first into a parked van, I learned pretty quickly that the bike follows you're head, also helped me learn the basic spinny tricks like flairs and 360's
Could you please make a video explaining how you adjust your front and rear suspension. The suspension on my WR is bouncing around like a seesaw at the moment and it's bloody scary. Another great video boys🍺 Keep them coming and this channel will blow up soon.
Hey! begginer rider here from Brasil, when im standing on the ball of my feet, i dont feel the rear break any close so that i can reach if im coming too fast in a corner.... any tips?
Awesome videos, watched a few tutorials now! I'm new to the world of motorcross, and I currently have a 140 pitbike, my first bike. This may be a stupid question, but I wanted to double check if how you handle those bikes is any different to the pit bikes? Or is everything identicle?
Keeping your head up is so important,I used to flag the MX races at my home track when I raced ,and I be waving the yellow flag and basically every rider is looking at the ground in front I have to hit them on their front fender before they woke up and looked at the flag, novices and intermediates too pros were pretty good...what's up with that,no flow....
One thing I would add is don't let your legs dangle. If your legs come off the pegs, do it intentionally and high. Don't let your legs dangle loose and low. I learned this the hard way and hit a boulder with the bottom of my foot and it threw my leg back soo hard (over extension) that it tore my knee up. I see a lot of videos about staying off the seat and I do, but I see a lot of people sitting down. It seems to be a riding style, even when on the face of a jump.
Great videos! It's been almost 15 years since I've ridden and I'm wanting to start again. At 34 years old, 6'1 and 200lbs.....any suggestions on what size bike to get? I'm basically going to be learning how to ride all over again...
A 250 or 450 4-stroke would work. A 250 may be a bit underpowered at 200 lbs, but you'd have a great time on it. A 450 is better for you if you want to never feel underpowered and maybe even pan to race it here and there. Let us know what you get!
with the standing part when coming down a straight or out of one corner and straight into another how do you aproach the corner say if ur siting dwn do you stand up just before entering then sitting again when hitng the apex?
Depends if it's rough in between the corners. If there's bumps, yes, stand up. If it's relatively smooth or you can find a smooth line, stay seated. Great question, just lots of variable to factor in.
Keep posting this great info; allot of people just like me, did not have any one to show them how to ride. Had to get my own bike and teach my self, videos like this are priceless. Thanks guys great job!

endless PROGRESSION exactly what i was thinking
endless PROGRESSION YES YES Yes!
samesies. i just bought myself a 125cc pitbike learning everything on my own made lots of mistakes hahaha
This is your calling... Don't ever stop making these videos

Ride a dirt bike, never knew abt them tips but been doing as advised all the time.
Sometimes instinct matters too.
Good sound advice and easy to understand.

Motorcycle 101: look where you are going and you will go where you are looking.
Instead of where you are going, look where you want to go
I think thats driving anything 101
Uhh i crashed cars doing that😂
Once I was driving my pit bike down the road and looked over at a deer in the field and ended up driving across my neighbors yard. don’t look away for too long😂😂
*looks at the moon*
I had no idea there was so much to riding effectively and safely. Thanks so much. This education will really save me alot of skin and sureness.
ronnie mac would disagree with a few of these
no he wouldnt, watch his riding carefully, he follows all these rules
i know dude it was just a joke
Was going to but realized there was 69 likes
Lol, you got jokes.. 😝
@VWRabbit2008 ronnie mac is a legend

In no way will I ever race MX, but as a newbie to dirt bikes I watch MX factory videos and always learn something new. Great content!👍🏻
Racing is so fun!! You have to at least try it
Very helpful for me who is a beginner, thank you MX

We need more videos like that 😉
Great video, all of the tips are key if you don't want to get beat up every weekend!
These are all mistakes I used to make at some point. And certainly good points to go over before any ride really. Good tips for sure.
I really appreciate that comment about information processing speed.

Awesome video!!! Very very helpful 🙌🏼❤️
When i was younger, i knew that you had to stand up and i tried sitting down but my reflexes said “no”
Super grateful for this! Thank you!
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching!
Great video!! One note they mentíon not sitting too much because impact goes to your most important bone in the body :the spine > but I never see anyone wearing protection for their spine:/

Excellent video boys hopefully next time you can add a tutorial on dabbing as I learned the hard way and completely tore my ACL. Cheers ride on

Another amazing vid! Keep up the awesome work with teaching us how to ride, you guys are gonna be responsible for the next, dungey or Roczen maybe even Stuart 😂
I'm newer to motocross the first bike I had was 50cc Suzuki amd recently I got a 2004 Yamaha ttr125l and I was brought out to the nearest track in my area and the first couple of obsitcals I went over I stood up and it was just nateral when I stood up but I did have the toes sticking out and non gripping knees problem
i just got a new bike and im learning this stuff but people are saying since i have been riding horses for so long my legs are usually tight and i look up because im so used to it. i was wondering if that would actually help me
Love the videos! What size of bike is that? (sure its written down there some where)
3:10 I love when a fucking soccer kid says "You aren't even moving, the bike moves under you." and "How can you even get arm pump". That is the moment when I say, come over next weekend, and we'll see
4:40 how do you get both legs out of the way of a crashing bike? Mine always seem to get stuck under the bike which leads to sprained ankles :(
sorta has something to do with not looking down... when I first started learning bmx i was riding through a parking lot and I had my head like 170 degrees going straight and my bike ended up turning to where my head was looking and well I went face first into a parked van, I learned pretty quickly that the bike follows you're head, also helped me learn the basic spinny tricks like flairs and 360's
great videos thanks for doing these, keep'em coming
Loving the content!
Great video!
Thanks
your spot on there
Another excellent video. Very helpful. 👍ride safe bro.
Thanks a ton!
Could you please make a video explaining how you adjust your front and rear suspension. The suspension on my WR is bouncing around like a seesaw at the moment and it's bloody scary.
Another great video boys🍺 Keep them coming and this channel will blow up soon.
Set your sag and stiffen up the compression
Great 👍 info thank you 🙏
great video, well edited.
Hey! begginer rider here from Brasil, when im standing on the ball of my feet, i dont feel the rear break any close so that i can reach if im coming too fast in a corner.... any tips?
Great video
This was a great video! I Subbed and look forward to more vids in the future!
Thank you so much I had no clue I was doing so much wrong
Your not just showing the mistakes your showing how to fix them too thanks for that
Awesome channel - great tips, even for us ADV guys :)
Good info, thanks👍👍 👊✊️BRAAP!!!
Awesome videos, watched a few tutorials now!
I'm new to the world of motorcross, and I currently have a 140 pitbike, my first bike. This may be a stupid question, but I wanted to double check if how you handle those bikes is any different to the pit bikes? Or is everything identicle?

great vids, maybe just use the odd 2 stroke from time to time
One thing I would add is don't let your legs dangle. If your legs come off the pegs, do it intentionally and high. Don't let your legs dangle loose and low. I learned this the hard way and hit a boulder with the bottom of my foot and it threw my leg back soo hard (over extension) that it tore my knee up. Hi I have a rmz450 and I’m trying to get the right sprockets set up on the size of sprockets to have for track if you can help me thx
+Darren Arnold What kind of tracks are you riding? Tight turns with jumps or longer wide open tracks?
These guys teach well
