Nice looking box. The blue looks sharp. I have a funny story about blue tool boxes. A tech that I worked with had an old blue bottom roller cab that he used as a service cart. It was his first tool box when he started as a VW tech. It was originally red. A new service manager was hired at the dealership he worked at. The manager held a meeting with all the techs. He ended his sermon with "I don't want to see any blue tool boxes". On Friday Goat ( his name is Bill but everyone calls him Goat as he can be stubborn) took his box home and over the weekend painted it blue. He rolled it in on Monday and the conflict began. He and the manager were butting heads from there on. He ended up getting fired in the end. All because of a blue toolbox.
@@Charlie-jayy On the other hand, ol' Goat WAS advised of the update to company policy from a managing authority who was hired to represent the company and directly supervise him; being fired for insubordination is a reasonable consequence for continued occurrences. The Goat has a lesson for us in all this: You can either follow the company rules, wear their uniforms, be on time, keep your job, have some medical care into retirement, and maybe savings to help retire on; Or follow your own rules, get fired from time to time, work for financial and medical stability, work harder for each dollar you keep or wind up working for yourself, never work for someone with whom you don't agree, and you can have all the tattoos, beards, long hair, and blue tooboxes you want. The satisfaction you find at work makes a massive impact on the satisfaction in your life outside of work too, but you have to balance your desires for freedom with the stability that comes with giving some of it away.

That is a really good looking toolbox and the colour is beautiful. Sadly over here in the U.K we only have the choice of Snap on or Mac for really big boxes.

No hate here. A bit of a story as I went 10 years as a automotive heavy line and 30 years as a aviation mechanic. I the early 1980s I was leaving the Air Force and got all my tools from Grainger and I needed good tools quick. Back then it was Bonney tools at Grainger and they gave me a free toolbox if I bought from them. It was a basic Bonney home owner 27" and roller and top. I worked out that box for the next 35 plus years. I heard it so many times I needed to step it up but I never did I just kept fixing that dinky little box up and it lasted. When I retired I just went to Harbor Freight and bought my replacements the only thing was a pair of open box 44" boxes and tops. I just wait until they were either bought in or discontinued. A couple years ago a 72" roller was a open box and I bought that also. I am all set for boxes. I do not need anything better as I am retired. Those Icon boxes just mean more beer money over the snappy
Just ordered My 73" Red boxes. Same setup as here but no overhead. I'm replacing my Craftsman "Griplatch" 42" plus side box with 42" Middle box and a U.S. General 44" Top Box. I replaced most of the drawers in Craftsman with shallow draws. I had a total of 11 drawers high (Column) in the bottom box. The only problem was I couldn't lock all the drawers since the back locking mech didn't line up with all the drawers. That's one of the reasons I went with the ICON. I'm replacing some of the drawers with shallow ones. I'll have 10 drawer high columns. The 73" is probably to much for me but I have regretted not buying the 56" Craftsman. If the 73" is to much I can always take it home and replace it with a 56" but I doubt it. I'm taking the Craftsman home anyway to replace old non ballbearing Craftsman's. I still think the Craftsman Griplatch is the best slide drawer retention system I have seen. Menards MasterForce series has a similar design but not drawer reconfigabilty.
Awesome Peter, I think you will like it a lot! They offer a lock kit that is pretty inexpensive to make all locks the same if you do get multiple tool box components.

Haha, He was supposed to come in the day it arrived, but didn't show up. A similar bottom from Snap On would be their Master Series, mid line product, which is 72 x 29 and is listed at $15,885. Their top tool box for it is 56" and is listed at $5885. Their locker is $3865 in the same series and their top cabinet is $3035. I could not find a 72 inch top box, so the top cabinet would not fit, but these prices reflect something as close as you could get. Making a deal with a Snap On retailer would change prices of course, sometimes drastically, but the total would be $28,670. So almost 4 times as expensive. Making a good deal would be in the $24-25k range I'd guess. Their Epic line would make it cost over $41k.

With all things considered, most metals are imported material, even for those who manufacture things here. Also considering the 26,000 HF employees. There are many variables. But my biggest concern was seeing what I was buying in person beforehand. That left me with tool trucks, pawn shops, Facebook market place or HF.

My point is if you are a professional making a professional wage I feel you should be buying your tools from a company that pays a living wage to the employees that make those tools.

Just my thoughts you do not need to buy overpriced Snap on but there are a lot of options like Proto ,Dewalt use to be Waterloo, Kennedy all American made boxes. If you are just buying a box for your home fine buy what ever but if you are buying one for work why buy one made by people that only make equivalent to $1.00 an hour then complain when your not getting $30.00 a hour.
With all things considered, most metals are imported material, even for those who manufacture things here. Also considering the 26,000 HF employees. There are many variables. But my biggest concern was seeing what I was buying in person beforehand. That left me with tool trucks, pawn shops, Facebook market place or HF.
@@JimmyMakingitwork Coil steel how sheet metal comes only 24% is imported for USA use and of that 80% is imported from Canada. For the 26,000 HF employees a large percent of them are minimum wage or close to that store personal a lot of which are part time without benefits. My point is if you are a professional making a professional wage I feel you should be buying your tools from a company that pays a living wage to the employees that make those tools.
Yeah, infinity is lazy. Ill fix it
Awesome, thanks for watching!
