That intro was golden cutest thing I have seen in a while.
Well done! Congratulations on building a great shop setup. Purchased the same Icon setup from
This :)
Got a Twin Busch Mid-Rise Scissor Lift in my shop and building my washbay/garage and will be getting the 56" ICON Box as well.
Subscribed to your channel because I will be getting another scissor lift and will be checking back in with you on and about your review about it.
Great video, adorable little girl Sir. Daddy's Little Helper!!
Nice box I’m thinking of going with the exact set up color and all. My krL master series snap on box does the same thing with the drawers not always opening all the way unless you pull them. Thanks for the video
Very nice box indeed! I’m definitely getting one when they have all the colors with black trim
Thats a sick set up! The drawers not opening all the way is common on the tool truck brand boxes also. My Mac and Matco boxes I own both do that. My Mac is 15yrs old and still does it sometimes. I think it's because I don't usually open them all the way everyday. I might have to get on of those boxes one day
It’s the older designs and the new cheap box slides. My snap on doesn’t . They’re new boxes don’t do that anymore and I don’t think Matcos does either any longer
Great video!! Can’t wait to get my 72inch box!!
Exact same setup will be here on the 27th. Already have a 56”icon with hutch and need more room. Gonna mount the 73 to the 56 hutches on both with full lockers at both ends.
Subscribed. Been watching you all morning.
Just a thought - the end locker issues could be related to alignment between the locker and the box. Maybe different heights on the floor where the wheels sit? I could see if the joints between the box and the side lockers have excessive vertical force, it could pull the door openings out of square. Maybe shims are required here? Again - just a thought...
The icon box is sweet man….. I have two 44 inch us general boxes an one top box and I love them…. I I love the icon line as well….. I’m just a little diy guy….. lol
Nice set. 👍 Thinking of getting one.
Buy once cry once, as long as your organized, prepared, and equipped that's all that matters. Otherwise your set up looks good!
Haha your supervisor needs a better raise dealing with a subordinate like you bro! Jk. Love it man thanks for the video. I still havent pulled the plug yet but am slowly getting the icons.
Jabo talking about the receptacles on the box when it comes to AC current there is no such thing as positive or negative. AC is positive and negative 60 times a second (60hz). The other two prongs are for neutral (to tie back into the supply voltage and complete a circuit of potential difference) and ground (actual earth ground)
Ever heard of polarity?
Looks like a nice box. 👍
That sucks about the door alignment. I have the 73 with hutch and side locker in black. Been using it daily at work since October. The edges of the locker don’t align properly either but the locker door is good.
The black trim looks great, they should start offering that as an option.
I just finished doing an embossed wrap. It came out really cool. I posted a quick video of it.
My Matco Jamestown cart does the same thing with the drawers and it also has the adjustable tension for closing
The issue with the draws looks like the bearings walking, just bump em out like you are doing every now and then. if it really bugs you, take something like a plastic prybar, and get behind the bearing and push back against it. The goal would be to get the bearings as close to the center of travel as possible.
Looks nice. What do you have to do to adjust the side locker doors for them to close better?
My dream box! Same color and everything. Congrats on the box bro
I'm a new subscriber, I started watching your videos because I just ordered the same box setup on 1/2/21. It was a impulse buy and I needed some peace of mind that I'd be happy with it. Thanks for all the info, I can't wait for it to come in. It's gonna look great in my garage.
Nice man. Thanks for your support 🙏. Which set up did you get and what color
@@JaboTheMechanic I got the 56 with the hutch top and one end locker (green). I plan on adding more in the future. Your videos got me really excited to get my box in. 😁
I'm happy for you man. You will not regret it
Finally got it in after almost 6 weeks. Man oh man is this thing awesome! Sometimes I catch myself just staring admiring it. 😁
Wow man I'm happy. Would love to see your set up
Nice review. Thank you. I'm currently waiting for a 56" box to come in...Have you tried readjusting the doors with weight in them?
Can we get update on the box a year later almost? Really starting to think about getting myself one. I'm a dealership tech
Nice set up I been thinking about buying some of the icon tools do you like them
Nice setup, do you know if side lockers will mount on SnapOn master series box
Beautiful toolbox
Hey nice box, but the sticking of the drawers is normal, my Snapon epic does the same thing, even with weight in the drawers ,what you have to do is pull the drawers out all the way every morning and it should be good air day,it’s the way the tracks are
Very nice setup and video as well. I probably missed it somewhere but could you tell me what the total price of the toolbox was? Would like very much to purchase the same complete setup in the gray color if available. I live literally in the middle of nowhere and the nearest HFT is about 3 hours away and was hoping it would be something they would stock but I understand if it’s not. Sounds like the shipping program they have is also very good. Thanks for now.
I got an icon 73, and hutch will be here soon aswell!, i have the same issue with drawrers not opening all the way unless u give em a good yank. Kinda annoying but hey lol
That’s a cool tool box
Thank you. I appreciate it 🙏
Dammit. Here I was just second guessing my preference for the green and I see this vid. Yep, it’s gotta be green. She’s a beaut!👍
When you ordered, did pretty much everything come assembled ?
Man looks amazing I ordered mine exactly a week ago!!!
Thanks man. Your going to be happy with it.
Yea hopefully man!!!
I’m a 30 year tech at new car dealer and just received my set up. Very nice and completely satisfied for a fraction of the price from snap on or Mac.
@@markstephens5643 shit man that’s what I told everybody that has truck brand tool boxes that for that price you can’t beat it and they always like u can get something like that from Snap-on use and in like not that’s size it’s probably like 7-8k I really like them when I saw them at the store
I defiantly going to buy it when I get the house 😍😍😍😍
Just purchased mine today. How big is your shop I want to build one and that looks about the size I’m thinking
Wonder if i can update my US General box with these slides
“Hi guys” “hi guys” “hi guys” “HEY GUYS” 😂😂 she got aggressive real quick
How do you work on stuff that's just a pile of parts on the ground....
Commenting on the video for the algorithm
Do you know if the locker fits with a snap on epiq?
There's no draw latch system ??. Draws just open up with nothing to keep them closed ?
I’m going to have my top bed lined like the snap on ones
I’m happy with my snap on boxes.
What do you do for work? Also, that’s the same box I want to get.
I really enjoyed your video. I know now not to buy an Icon box... Thanks brother. was a great in-depth review...
What turned you away? Just curious
The toolbox doors jamming appears to be a manufacturing issue because the doors should fit without jamming. I would ask for a replacement box and eventually the manufacturer will correct the manufacturer issues otherwise the manufacturer will continue to send out crappie boxes.
I’ve been looking at that same box. Sounds pretty solid. Question, where did you get the power tool storage things? Where you have the Milwaukee impacts? Tia
It comes with the box!
how wide is the top drawer?
Waiting for my exact combination but in blue
Whats the total cost for just your box
How did you get the stainless top?
They will break in man a lot of toolboxes are like that.
Never saw drawers that won’t open like that? Maybe dry slides? My Epiq I can’t keep drawers open they tend to roll closed on their own.
Cabinet alignment is totally adjustable. Door alignment is adjustable.
Have you opened up all the drawers to see if the box tips over
Why would you ever have all of the drawers open?
Its a gorgeous tool box. I wouldnt go slapping any stickers on it.
Thank you! I agree
Attitude adjusted
I love that Green. And the middle box. The lockers on sides are nice. But that overall setup now with the lockers just take up so much space in that beautiful garage you built. Just my thoughts. It a a huge setup . Looks great. How much is just the middle part like 2800$? Or something right
Around 3200 if I remember correctly
Have you lubricated your drawers with anything yet? My co-workers matco wouldn't open all the way til he used a lube on the drawer slides
No I haven't. Do you know what lubricant he used
Try white lithium
Can we get another update/tour on the box and how the tools are holding up over the years?
Can you do a review on the depth of the drawers so we can compare to snap-on or Marco
Polo
Hows the head room are you looking over the top?
I’m 6’3 I didn’t even bother seeing how it was before I put some about 6’ blocks underneath the wheels
Did you have to pay for shipping? Cause I was going to order an icon box and they told me there's an fork lift and power tailgate charge shipped to my work place..on there web site it shows free shipping
No it was free
How much did the whole Icon box setup cost? That’s the exact setup I want.
Around 7k
nice box now if only you had tools to put in it
10mm nut driver missing??
Who made your intro?
Hey jabo how do you like your icon tools wrenches and impact sockets??
I love them. Best purchase ever
@@JaboTheMechanic thanks for the reply been thinking about do same thing you did
You should. So worth it
@@JaboTheMechanic there is just so many mixed reviews on the icon tools but if you used them everyday that's good to hear that they hold up
They are. And I use them everyday. I love the swivel sockets the most
Good, she didn’t kill you or kick you out!
Nice start. As you get more tools, I think you're going to want to stand your sockets and put your Sockets in the top drawer. 1. You're wasting depth with wrenches in that drawer. 2. At least you could put your wrenches in a shallow drawer just below the second drawer.
Thanks for the input. I will try that out
When are you getting lifts ?
I got the scissor jack. Will be posting it
How's your box holding up man?? I'm about to sell my snap-on box for this one!
It's doing great man. I love it
Your garage floor is way out of alignment compared to that of the store. Put a LONG level across the top, then shim the rollers .... then you'll be happy.
Is the stainless steel top separate or is it included with the box ?
Separate
It's separate
should have got a hoist first !! lol nice affordable box though
Lube up your bearings and adjust your tentioner
So do you do automotive work out of your garage as a full time job? Great video and nice box too!
Yes I do. thank you I appreciate it 🙏
I would like to do automotive repair full-time at the house when I can retire from my current job, right now I can only it do part-time. I have considered that low profile lift from HF as well to set up here at the house, but I noticed Bendpak makes the same style lift that enables one to have access to the entire undercarriage of the vehicle instead of just the four wheels like is most common. I would hope to get one in the future.
@@donaldhollums3278 Yea I would like to get a 2 post. They cost around $3,000-4,000 for a decent one
I will have a video on the lift
@@justinlamb3822 yeah, a two-post lift would be great. Unfortunately I haven’t a garage, but I have plans for building in a way that would still allow me to work under some cover (mainly some rain) that’s the main reason for a low profile lift like you’re getting. You appear to have a great set up at your house. Where I live we may deal with some cold weather a couple of times over a three month period as our seasons are: summer, early summer, late summer, and next summer. I look forward to seeing your review film of your lift.
Aren't those supposed to be soft close ?
No they aren't
@jabo the mechanic still waiting on the toolbox update video
Will be making one soon. Just need to finish a car that's in the way
Am I the only one that noticed that the one he stood on didn’t latch on anymore 😂💀
Is it possible to order deeper drawers
It could be. You would need to contact icon themselves
I want this in red or blue so bad....I'm trying to talk myself out of the cheaper USG setup from HF.
20% off right now.
Can I have your old kobolt box
Looks like the drawers bouncing back at me when closing would annoy me the most.
There is adjustable tension.
Is that green or yellow? I’m color blind. Lol
It's green
Between the kid and the um's couldn't make it passed 2 minutes. Good looking box though
Cool set up. But, I had to stop watching after 2:40. Camera was zig zagging around Blair Witch Project-style so much I was getting dizzy and felt like I was going to puke. Please hold the camera still or put it in a stationary spot where we can see the whole cabinet and narrate that way. With better camera work I would watch the whole video.
Draws seem ruff or is it just me? I think they could do a lot better.
smoke detector
for that price if the draws do not slide out easy, I think the it is not worth the $
Even new tool truck boxes do that
@@andybub45 my Cornwell does the same thing when I don’t fully open the drawer for awhile
It's designed that way.
Should have titled Pros and (I)Cons! I shouldn't type.......
I wish they were soft close
In my opinion, these toolboxes cost too much for what they are. If they were 1-2k cheaper it wouldn't be that bad. Especially since I can get a snapon box used, or new for roughly the same price off the truck. Couple things I see that I don't like are that the power drawer and charging drawer aren't 1 drawer just 2 separate drawers, I don't like the power strip on the front of the box, I don't like the drawer locking mechanism, and the price of it for a chinese box. I'd pay a couple grand more for a snapon masters or epiq series toolbox that are made in the us, but that's just my opinion. Nice looking box for a home box though.
Man, I must have the worst Snap On Rep ever. Lol. I just bought the Icon 73, hutch, end locker, keys, stainless top, and light for $5,500 cash after tax. My Snappy dealer ain't touching that price. The lowest price I could get on a new 73" Classic roller, just the roller, was $6,500. There is no way I am touching that set up for a Master/Epiq series for "a couple grand more". If I can't buy it cash off the truck, I ain't buying it.
Not knocking Snap On/Matco/Mac. I have some of their ratchets, love the convertible flash light I bought last month form the Snap. I got lucky (right time/right place) and bought a used Macsimizer cart for $1500 on CL. I like their tools but I buy most stuff somewhere else...sockets from Sunnex and Tekton, plyers from Channel Lock, etc. I just am not making payments on tools. This isn't 1989 where you had just the trucks and Sears Craftsman....so many more options now.
@@michaelcoulter953 yeah, a coworker of mine got a newish snappy 84 inch epiq for 5500 with trade in and rebate. I have mostly snap on tools because I grew up with them. And personally I like them best, but to each their own.
@@Mopars_41 That is a smoking deal. I tried that. Check CL, Offer Up, Etc for a deal like that. Just couldn't find anything I could do cash or if I could it was just beat to shit. You can find those deals if your patient and have time. I got two carts just absolutely over flowing. Couldn't wait.
Snap on made in China now
@@kraybrother8768 a lot of their stuff isn't.... toolboxes, hand tools, diagnostic equipment, ac machines, welders, 18v impacts. Probably other stuff that I'm missing. Only a few snapon tools are made in China or Taiwan, so try again bud.
OMG your daughter is the cuuuuuutest.
Chinese
AND SO FORTH
Remove uhm from your vocabulary, beyond that good job.
It looks professional BUT for the price ( not bashing your decision ), Ya just helped me make up my mind! I was VERY SERIOUS about getting the ICON but now I'm 100% convinced to get the Tool Vault 140" ELITE. Why- For the money saved I can get more tools I've always wanted & I can fabricate the charging station to suit my location & area in the box. As for the break-in ya should have taken the time to get it right before you even laid a pencil on it. I've noticed several saying alot about the alignment issues so that alone shows me most are rushing or the fabrication is off. For the money spent I'm NOT willing to take that chance. I can get the ToolVault 140" for $3000 less & all you got was the Charging drawers over the ToolVault, BIG freakin deal! I'm 100% certain I can fabricate something similar & I also have the ability to move it anywhere I want within the box whereas your stuck with their location. Like I said I still like it but you helped me make a MAJOR decision in my purchase, for that I wanna THANK YOU!!!!
Also I have some suggestion for organization;
1- VIM RAILS - ua-cam.com/video/GO3ItZkLs3w/v-deo.html
2- ToolBoxWidgets - toolboxwidget.com/
3 - For those Looking For new quality boxes - www.strictlytoolboxes.com/tool-vault-tool-boxes/tool-boxes-by-size/tool-vault-72-tool-boxes.html
All of this is simply "MY SUGGESTIONS" Jabo still has a nice box, I am ONLY commenting on my wants & my needs. Don't Take It Personal as it is NOT meant to be! When I get mine all set up I will make a review!
"GOOD LUCK & BEST WISHES"
Isn’t the tool vault 140 like 11k? Idk the price of this when he paid but currently this setup is only 7695. I guess a bigger plus going with toolvault is the 30 inch deep drawers. I think both are great setups with the toolvault being a little more heavy duty. Goodluck on getting that 140 :)
