Can't understand why people struggle with the pronunciation of "INXS"! Saw them (headlining) a festival in Ireland on the "X" tour - think it was the last show of the tour and the only stadium gig of (at least that leg of) the tour.. they were doing arenas after the stadium fest following Kick. Anyway.. wasn't into them at all but, well they were playing and everyone in the world knew the singles from Kick and .. they were fantastic, looked like they were having a ball and loved them from start to finish. Totally won me over in an 80min show, been a fan since.
This was a hot hit in the dance clubs. My girlfriends and I couldn't sit still. We were amazed the 1st time we saw the video because 1 of our guy friends looks just like the drummer.
Michael, the lead singer, was dating Helena Christensen for several years. At the time, one of the world's highest paid top models But yes please - more INXS
THIS Australian band was HUGE around the world. Their name INXS is pronounced 'in excess'. I saw them at a country hotel/pub/bar dance before they became famous but no-one danced because we were all mesmerised by their sound and their talent .We knew that they would go far. Many Aussie bands honed their craft and talent in the Aussie pub scene which could be harsh on them if they were not of a decent standard.
Totally need to do 'Never Tear Us Apart' by INXS now. True fact. When INXS presented the album demo to Atlantic, they wanted them to rewrite it all but refused. As a listener, glad the band stuck to their guns.
INXS - pronounced "in excess" - other great tunes incl Devil Inside, Listen Like Thieves, Suicide Blonde, Mystify, New Sensation - RIP Michael Hutchence 🕯
Still One of my favorite concert memories. Late '80s. I won floor seat tickets on the radio. It was an all-day/night concert with several major bands. Ziggy Marley, The Smithereens, Iggy Pop, GUNS N' ROSES, and the headliner was INSX. My roommate and I were there for GNR mostly, their first album had become a huge hit. This was our first chance to see them live. But it poured down rain all day and into the evening. All the bands were great, but when it was time for GNR, we got three songs and a hissy fit. Axl threw down his mic and Slash threw down his guitar and stormed off the stage. The entire crowd had been sitting all day in the rain to see these bands, especially this one. We were pissed. But then INXS came on last... And the entire vibe in the stadium completely changed. Thousands of soaking wet people danced their asses off and we had the best time. People were intentionally slip and sliding on the floor because of all the rain... They came on and absolutely dominated the stage and I am so grateful I got to see it.
The band is pronounced in excess. Michael, the lead singer had almost like a swagger about him, think like mick Jagger meets Jim Morrison. They were very popular in the late 80s thru the early 90s. Unfortunately we lost Michael at a young age, but INXS' songs were so catchy, danceable, funky.
Hey brother, You've got to check out INXS LIVE BABY LIVE from a sold out Wemble stadium, New Sensation! They were one of the most outstanding live shows out there... EVER! Top notch, take a watch! Blessings to ya
Man, you need to do some investigation. Search their song Original Sin and the info to it, look at the producer and the backing singer in that track. Then you know who's influenced INXS in a big way. Both guys are also big names in the hip hop community.
Michael wanted his children to come to Australia, but the biological father of his stepchildren, Bob Geldof, wouldn't let it happen. It is said Michael became very distraught, got high on pills, and you know the rest. But before he had children, he was dating model Helena Christensen at the time, and I believe there was an altercation with someone; Michael fell, hit his head, didn't go to the hospital, and ended up losing his taste and smell. Many people in his life said he was never the same afterward. Michael was a beautiful soul, inside and out, very sensitive. His voice never failed him. Personally, I cannot believe it has been almost 30 years since he passed. You need to check out "New Sensation" live at Wembley and "Disappear."
He only had 1 daughter Tiger Lily it was Paula Yates’ first children with Bob Geldof. He wanted Paula Yates and the children to come out to Australia but Bob wouldn’t let them.
They were popular around the same time, might explain your vibe. During my time, Michael Hutchence was considered the most sexy man alive by many publications. What a great band. Such a tragic end....A love triangle between he, Paula Yates and her ex, Bob Geldorf of the Boomtown Rats, and the fallout from it led Michael to hang himself while on tour, Paula to commit suicide by misadventure years later, and Gildorf, left completely inconsolable over the whole mess raising not only his three daughters, but Michael and Paula's daughter as well. Such a sad state of affairs, indeed. But he has been a great father to all 4. ❤ INXS. In excess, get it?😊

New Sensation (official music video) 100% needs to be next.
Can't wait to hear his thoughts on "Devil Inside" myself
@@Ol_Blue - Another classic!
😊😅
Trust us. He was definitely into the split tail. He was seen with almost every super model of the day.
Never heard that expression before.
Haven’t heard that slang in years!
@Kingbee1022-q7m I think I heard that from my dad
Such a great live band and so glad I got to see them. Michael Hutchence was one of the sexiest men on the planet! Ask Kylie amongst others.
Yes!! Michael Hutcheson always reminded me of Jim Morrison. Great Concert!!
I have always loved this song. Such a sexy delivery. Such a great singer. Rest in peace Michael. You pronounce it like ‘in excess’.
Hey brother,
You've got to check out INXS LIVE BABY LIVE from a sold out Wemble stadium, New Sensation!
They were one of the most outstanding live shows out there... EVER! Top notch, take a watch!
Blessings to ya
Don't forget What You Need at the concert also 😊
Do next from them these banger's: "What you need", "Original sin", "Suicide blonde", Listen like thieves" , "Bitter tears"
Oh yeah, you totally have to do Original Sin! You'll understand completely when you hear it!
Yes, What You Need, live at Wembley in 1991. I watch that one often!
@@suecook1326 100%!!!! Michael was a fantastic front man!!!!
INXS (pronounced "In Excess" - is one of my top favorite 80's group! They have several awesome songs. Please keep going!
Michael Hutchence was one of the sexiest men ever. Very straight - was married to Paula Yates and sadly committed suicide. 😢
Music is for everyone.
They never did marry. 😢
I concur! Extremely sexy!❤
I appreciate your love for exploration of music!
AMBROSIA Biggest Part of Me and How Much I Feel. Both are great songs!
You always seem to mess up a good reaction by talking about gay this and that. Let it Go please sir. 😊
Thank you!
It's a now thing - not a then thing
@@andreadeamon6419 I’m not surprised by this. He just reacted to Chantilly Lace and took it to be about phone sex.
Yes he talks about gays a lot! They are definitely in the front of his brain🤔
Oh right gays didn’t exist in the 80s? Lol
Michael Hutchence was into women. Not sure about the flip side. But the women loved this guy. React to more of their stuff.
Man, you need to do some investigation. Search their song Original Sin and the info to it, look at the producer and the backing singer in that track. Then you know who's influenced INXS in a big way. Both guys are also big names in the hip hop community.
NR & DH raising the roof!
3 of the band are brothers, and the girl showed up at the very beginning 🫢☺️
INXS
One of the best...sad they didn't get the chance for longevity 💔
R.I.Paradise Michael
🙏
❤ INXS. In excess, get it?😊
I love INXS the first song I heard from them from way back in the 1980's was The One Thing its cool, but my favorite is Don't Change you should check it out 🙂
This song was huge on MTV in the early days. It is TIMELESS.
He is NOT rainbow people at all!😂
🤣LOL! "In excess" is how u pronounce the name of the band. It's a play on words.😉 You really need to see and hear the ORIGINAL FULL/extended version of this. It's "Need you tonight/mediate"... you'll better understand the greatness of INXS.
Rest in sweet Heavenly peace Michael Hutchence.🙏 Thanks for the music.❤❤❤
He committed suicide by hanging, he wasn’t attempting auto asphyxiation like David Carradine.
When you George Michael vibes, are you referring to GOAT artistry? Don't understand all the labeling. Michael is one sexy man! ❤
Micheal is one of the most underrated frontmen in the history of Pop music. Except no substitute for 89’s frontmen!!!
I saw INXS open for REM at a college club 1981 or 1982. Both bands were yet to make it into mainstream. Definitely not a gay joint, but Michael Hutchins was pretty sexy and probably appealed to both sexes.
You can get into a ton of great songs with INXS. Just off the top of my head there’s “New Sensation”, “Devil Inside”, “What You Need”, “Suicide Blonde”, “Disappear” and many, many others.
my favorite is 'devil inside'
He would probably be too scared to play it because it has "devil" in the title. 😁
Next song fron INXS "New Sentation" is a must!
Australian band that ruled the 80s and 90s. Lead singer Michael Hutchence was definitely not gay, dated super models and had a daughter. Super hot sexy guy with a sexy voice and this song is fire 🔥
You should check out Don't change from them, or anything from their show at Wembley stadium
For 40 years ago when this song came out, rainbows was beautiful. Today? 🤦♂🤦♂
were
Everybody loved Michael.. men and women alike. He was a poet and a gentle soul..
Some say Michael Hutchence gave Jim Morrison vibes in the day.
He sure did
I'm going to agree with whoever mentioned Michael Hutchence is giving Jim Morrison vibes. I love INXS and always have.
New sensation next please ❤
Suicide blonde after that
No that was a rumor! He did die by hanging but it was NOT autoerotic asfixiation! He suffered from 2 traumatic brain injuries in 1992, it changed his personality dramatically, he started doing drugs more and different kinds and drinking more I think that was the start of his downfall, well that and his 2 yr relationship with toxic Paula Yates! RIP Michael Hutchence 💔😭🙏🏻
Amazing song and I'm glad you enjoyed it but mannn you dropped the ball on this one with your "rainbow vibes" 🤦♀️
It’s IN X S. 😊. One of my favorites ❤
