    The Captain meets Matt Bellamy - that would be a great one!
    Please please please please make this happen!
    Mark Tremonti or Mike Kerr would also be awesome :)

    What a humble guy! I've always liked Skrindred but never been on my main playlist. This guy has just changed it for me! Great player, honest and he appreciates what he has and has worked hard for it! Great video! Thanks Andertons!

    Sounds weird, but we REALLY need a The Capt. Meets Rabea Massaad. I'd be really interested to hear about his philosophies and mindsets and the exercises and drills he used to develop that killer articulation. Angel Vivaldi would be awesome as well.

      Rabea has it's own UA-cam channel, maybe you should check it out. It fits your description and is quite cool.

    Mikey is a straight up dude. I met him in 2005 during their soulful support tour, they absolutely owned that night. He's such a relatable guitar player to me, loves a good riff, nothing over complicated but holds his own in the genre he excels in. Great dude, great player.

    This was great, thanks very much!
    @Andertons a tiny suggestion for a closing segment: ask if your guests have any tips they want to share with their fellow guitarists, such as little playing or gear tricks or maybe even good resources that have been of great help in their (current) development.
    Thanks very much!

    Mikey Demus' tone is so damn smooth/buttery for having that much gain. I love it! Sounds like his Mason bridge pickup is killer. And it probably doesn't hurt that he's got that head bobbin' groove in his rhythm and his leads. Awesome interview!

    Just got me some rotosound 10/54 mikey strings. I've been digging the rotosounds 10/52 but I play in d standard so wanted to try the thicker bottom. Those Rotosounds have some great chug to em and screaming pinch harmonics. Hadn't tried em before and finally gave em a go . Gonna throw these 54s on it this weekend.

    • @Robstafarian
      @Robstafarian 7 років тому

      I had to give up on G&L because they do not make a neck which is suitable for me. Having said that, G&L will be a great addition to Andertons; I just hope they develop an understanding of the models' respective benefits before shooting videos.

    • @wildersparks9161
      @wildersparks9161 7 років тому +1

      G&L makes almost every neck profile. www.glguitars.com/instruments/USA/options/guitar.asp
      I feel like their main problem is distribution. Most people don't know about them and those who do look at them as Fender lite. I think they build a better guitar than Fender.

    Hey Captain, the Agincourt gig, do you remember the crowd fully parting in the middle, crowding the walls before the start of 'Bruises', then literally running at each other when the tune started? That was Skindred for sure, after their debut album came out (2002). Totally ace gig. If you do remember that - I was there too!

    I saw Skindred get booed off the stage once roughly 10-12 years ago at the arena in Lowell Mass. I felt really bad for those dudes, I liked that song they had on the radio, it's tough opening for Slayer.

    Never heard of Skindred or Mikey, but he seems like a nice fella and his guitar tone is brutal!!! Normally I'm not keen on the modern Djent tones but his sound is really chunky, I like it! :-)

    • @schlagdog
      @schlagdog 7 років тому +1

      Gary Moseley Nothing about Skindred is Djent. They has so many songs that should have been radio hits it's ridiculous. Their management never spent any time on the U.S. market but they are pretty popular in Europe. They are crazy good and extremely underrated

    • @GazMoz78
      @GazMoz78 7 років тому

      schlagdog suppose it's just Lee mentioned djent so it was in my brain, but C# is in the ballpark. Anyway great guitar sound😊

    • @schlagdog
      @schlagdog 7 років тому +1

      Gary Moseley I think the Captain thinks if you detune your guitar it's Djent. Djent is more a style of tight syncopated guitar. Skindred is completely unique sounding. Listen to songs like "pressure" or "kill the power" and any of their singles. It sounds mostly like. I other band or genre.

  • @justpressplay4231
    @justpressplay4231 6 років тому

    It's interesting because I never really got the "get out the acoustic and play" approach... my first real guitar was electric and I pretty much just played badly on that until I learned how not to suck... long hard process but I'm at least half decent now

    There’s a common misconception that Kurt wasn’t really a good guitar player. Nothing could be further from the truth. No he wasn’t EVH but he knew his way around the fingerboard and his solos are some of the most iconic and recognizable in all of rock. Listen to the solo from In Bloom and tell me that isn’t pure genius.

    The Captain needs to actually know what Djent is. Skindred is pretty much 0% Djent and so is Mikey's playing. Skindred should be way more popular than they are. They are completely unique sounding and have so many great songs they should be rock radio staples. I think their management has dropped the ball several times with them.
