Great tools are these spreadsheets. I keep one for the gas/mileage use of my cars. Every time I purchase gas, I note the mileage on the odometer and enter the details, including fuel quantity and cost on a spreadsheet. Given the manner in which I've structured the sheet, at a moment's notice, I can tell what my mileage, fuel use, cost and the economy is on a monthly, rolling 3, 6 and 12 month basis. Any great variances from the norm allow me to have a closer look at what is happening with the vehicles. Love 'em.
I'll be 72 in February, Gary, and I've never done a spreadsheet in my life, despite being a Mac owner since 1999 (yeah, I know, I was a late starter!). I have learnt more about spreadsheets in the past ten minutes than I ever knew! Thanks.👍🏻😊
Awesome! I’ve never been good at creating spreadsheets. The formulas always confuse me. This is a tremendous starting point, easily customizable. Thank you Gary!
amazing, I always wanted to have a loan calculator in numbers instead of using excel and I found it. I hope you make a tutorial about how to calculate loan monthly payment, and it would be great to breakdown the math behind it.
You have made me fall in love with Numbers. I was earlier using only Excel. Never realized the Numbers app is equally powerful and so easy to use. Thanks a lot. You are a great teacher. Love from India.
I may be missing something, but I've found, after moving across to 'Numbers', that the charting options are not as good or comprehensive as Excel. I'd love to be proven wrong. Gary?
thanks for yet another great and informative video, Gary! It would be great to see a tutorial for using the daily planner and see if it can sync with the calendar as well as the other apps too
Fabulous, thank you. Once I have changed the template to my needs, can I then save that as a new template? Eg; a monthly budget that I can use for each month without having to start from scratch. Also, can I then save the completed budget so I have records to look back at? In case you haven't guessed, I'm totally new to Mac. Got my first Air just a month ago 😁
@@macmost Of course! I used to create lots of templates with Word, many years ago, but I stopped doing it when I switch to Pages, for an unknown reason. I'm going to start that again, for sure! Thanks, Gary!
Cool! If you're ever bored, please share where we might search for specific templates. There have been a few times where I needed to do something and there was no template for what I needed. If there is a website, a link, an apple support page, whatever that might help save us some time, please feel free to share. THANK YOU! 😍
I don't know of any repository of third-party templates or anything like that. I suppose you could always go to a freelancer site and have one built to meet your needs.
Thanks, love the templates. As for the budget ones, they all seem to be monthly - does anyone know of one that adds all the months to reflect the annual (linked a second page)?
Love your video alot! I know how to lock the file with password in number app. However I don’t know how to lock or hide the sheets in number? Can you please share this. Thank you.
I love the way you explain things🙂. I have a question for you ,.....while i was googling, excel vs number app, i read that excel is more powerful than number app and also it is beneficial for larger & critical data analysis. I was shocked to see that. And also Excel has more functions & options (like Scenerio manager, forecasting, Goal seek, etc) compared to Number app. Please express your views Sir, is number app really weaker than Excel. It demotivated me 🙁. Eagerly waiting for your reply, Sir. I am sure, you will clear my doubt.
Yes, Excel is the top-of-the-line "pro" tool. It has been around since 1985 (first on Mac, 2 years before windows). Lots of years of piling features and functions into it. I think Numbers looks better and is easier for most people to use, but I don't think there is any doubt that Excel is more powerful. It is just that most people don't need those high-end functions.
QUESTION: Can you point me to where I can get a Mortgage Amortization schedule for Apple sheet. I can't find one. Do you have one that I can download. THANKS
Thanks for the video! Great info. Do you know where the templates are stored? Once I modify them I want to share the templates and I can't seem to do that any more except sending one-by-one. Thanks again!
I don't think they are anywhere easy user-accessible. If you need that, save the templates as files instead of in the Template Chooser. Otherwise, share them one at a time from the Template Chooser.
@@macmost That's what I was afraid of. Thanks! I don't know why they just don't have a container you can save and copy to another drive if need be but I guess they figure the cloud can handle it all.
I just want basically an expense tracking template where I can put in my expenses every day with a date and have a total at the end of each month and at the end of the year. I opened the simple budget template but I do not know how to set it up for what I am describing. Do you have a video explaining that?
Yes. Use the color wheel button when choosing the color. This brings up the system color picker. You can choose any color there and even save your favorites. ua-cam.com/video/u8Q0vLzjAjU/v-deo.html
I like Numbers and tried using it over the years but my problem has been the lack of configurable print areas. That’s a massive oversight on Apple’s part that’s a complete deal breaker for me for anything serious
Me? I don't have a collection of templates or anything like that. You can build one on your own as long as you understand what you need. I'm not an expert on loans, so I would just look it up and try to understand it first.
Plz somebody answers me, when I use personal budget, it’s impossible to change the category name in transactions sheet. How I can change them? Or add new one. I can’t believe the template is unchangeable.

Just the templates you see listed in Numbers. I don't think any of those are what you are looking for.

The grid lines can’t be seen. Do you have a solution?
Try increasing the contrast on your screen, perhaps?
When I look at the templates my selection is smaller than yours. Do you have a different version of numbers or something?
Not sure what you mean by that. I'm using the something close to the latest version of Numbers (from October this year).
Is there is any chance to remove dark mode for keynote alone ??
There are third-party apps that will switch Dark/Light mode by app. Maybe try one of those.

Do you mean the pop-up menu on the second sheet? You'd need to select them all, then go to the Cell sidebar and alter what is in the pop-up menu.
