I have two herds of cats that don't mix. 4 inside/outside, 2 totally outside but on the porch as they wish. Catered breakfast and dinner for all, crunchies all times. Heated nests and water for the porch cats. One is still feral after 14 years. All are rescues inside. Outside group was born here. All got fixed. 6 outside group ran off to get married and see the world. Bon Voyage my sweeties. Just 2 loyal outside kits for full time professional mouse hunting. 4 inside part time mousers. Love them all. ))))
Hello, Kate...great to spend the day with you and your sweet animals. Rocky is a tough old guy...poor soul...but he has found a safe haven and he knows it!
He looks a proper mess doesn't he. I do what i can, he hates being fed on the inside window sill - you could see how anxious he was - I'll just play by his rules then! xxxxx
Lovely visit. A fun time. Not boring but interesting. You sure keep busy! The drive looks pleasant. Sizzix! I have one - a handy invention! Glad you’re feeding Rocky. Poor thing sure looks haggard.
I'm still ages behind and slowly working my way up to the present, but I do love the "day in the life" videos. You are so much more industrious than I! I'll be back soon to watch the next one, and I feel like maybe I shouldn't comment on all of them just to give you a little less work! If I don't, just know that I'm enjoying all of them. xxx
Wow the cats eating out of sundae dishes and the chickens laying eggs behind a curtain. I absolutely love your ways and days. Please get glamping tents and have crafting retreats. Xx
Dear Kate, Thank you for allowing us to tag along on your Wednesday. So soothing to have a simple day shared by many 4-leggeds and 2-leggeds and us. You made my Wednesday even better for having seen your video. All the best, Kay Kay
I have only recently come across your channel and must say that I already love your videos. You are so natural and warm and a joy to watch. I love where you live and really enjoyed watching your busy Wednesday. Your cats are gorgeous too.😍
I see Harry and Thomas every few days, and of course, every day at the moment, they are now as big as Sadie, their Mum, and very beautiful. They are such good company for my friend - I think she has been missing them - I've been sending her messages as if they are from the cats! she's back today ... all three off them will be pleased! xxx
Poor Rocky....I had a neighborhood cat (he didn't look as rough as Rocky and always seemed brushed, etc. but he was outside most of the time) who would come to visit our Irish Setter. He would look in the door until we put the dog out and then he would twine around her legs and follow her around the yard. He wouldn't come in, and after several months he let me pet him...I fed him, too, and fixed a boxlike bed with an old sleeping bag in it where he would sometimes spend the night out of the wind, etc. My dog died in December, the cat came for about two weeks after that, and then he stopped.....haven't seen hide nor hair of him since and I miss the old coot! I would not be surprised if you convert the poor guy...one of these cold old nights. He looks like he has seen some battles! I enjoy your days....you make me want to be more ambitious!!
aahhh, that cat really loved your dog, I'm sorry you lost them both! Rocky has been hanging about off and on for year - I don't think I'll change his habits now, there are plenty of warm places for him to sleep on the farm. I'd love to give him a once over though and getting him neutered would be a public service! YOU make ME want to be more ambitious! its a win win! xxx
Thanks Kate, now I have seen to the end I just ha to make another comment. OMG you put LSA on your porridge, feed the wild birds, make green tomato chutney and cut your hexagons on the Big shot. I am new to your channel so trying to catch up with you, wonder how much more we will have in common. Loved this video and look forward to more.
I am finally all caught up on your videos. Quite bittersweet, that. I have so enjoyed watching your videos from the very first to now, in order. I cannot thank you enough for sharing your simple, beautiful life with all of us. I've learned many things, discovered some new recipes, fallen in love with your creations, and found peace for my hectic mind. Thank you, Dear Kate, from the bottom of my heart, for all that you share with us.
And I'm finally catching up with my lovely comments! I am wondering about the balance in my life as I seem to be spending more and more time either making videos or editing them. I was watching the vlog of someone I just started following and she said she devotes nine hours a day to her vlog!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I haven't got nine hours a day! BUT!!! I am loving how things are unfolding on this UA-cam journey I'm on. Some of those early videos make me cringe though Amy!! I feel sorry for you!!! But my head is bursting with ideas for things I think you folk might like to see. I am encouraged by the slow and steady growth of the channel and the delightful comments - like yours - and so many other people....... I just want to sit and have a chat and a cuppa with all of you! I guess I'm heading for nine hours a day then!!! xxx Much love and thanks xxx Kate

What a lovely place you keep very busy feeding cats and hens just loved it all the drive to the village love watching you making things crafts and anything else
I love that liberty fAbric and all the hexagon pieces u had in the box. I live in Utah, USA, and have never seen it....good thing probably. 😉 wish Rocky would come in and gang with the gang. You are truly a good sort to feed your animals before you.. My family always taught me that !! I see the opposite done in so many videos . I love your hexie sewing. Im am also doing that and now looking for a hexie paper cutter so I can make use of all the trash mail we get so I can stop buying papers ....Im currently watching the series The Great American quilt , its on UA-cam and it is about 7 videos , very rich quality info.
i loved this video and only wished it were much longer. hope you post more "follow me around" glimpses in the future - what fun to spend a day with you! - your "mundane" is my absolute dream. xo
I really enjoyed this.... nice and pleasant day out and about. Interesting to see your countryside and small town. Fun to see your projects too. Thanks.
New sub. Enjoyed spending your Wednesday with you. All of your Liberty hexagons of a "Grandmother's Flower Garden" quilt. And my grandmother piecing them together by hand. I don't believe she ever paper pieced. Once she got her quilt top pieced by hand. Then, she would put it in the quilting frame and quilt it by hand also. Thank you for helping to bring back fond childhood memories.
I thoroughly enjoyed the day...loved the little village. It was such a pleasant drive even though I forgot for a moment we were across the pond , and they you were on the left hand side of the road. hahaha. My heart took a little leap there for a moment. Your kitties are beautiful. Thanks for sharing your time. Have a Blessed day.
Hi Kate, have to say my hubby loves green tomatoes, onions, and mushrooms wrapped around in foil a put on the barbecue.. Did you make your coat? It reminds me of Dolly Parton’s song “ My Coat of Many Colours “. You are very gifted and ambitious, bravo 👏
Lovely countryside Kate. When you picked your tomatoes I thought of Green Fried Tomatoes (movie). I have never tried frying up tomatoes. My mom fed strays too. My one daughter works at a vet clinic so we would take them in for a checkup. The trick `n treaters are done for the night. I don`t bother shelling out since I would only get six if that. Nice to see Harry and Thomas. I started a hexagon quilt five years ago when my second grand-daughter was born. I still have quite a lot to do. The sugar Maples have finally let go of their leaves this week. A nice golden colour carpet of leaves.
I love that movie, its ages since I watched it! I'd love to catch that cat and take him to the vets. I don't think he'd be so pleased though! There must be a huge number of half made hex projects out there - I know I have a couple! xxx As soon as we get our next big wind, we will lose the leaves too, not long now! xxxx
Hi Kate, you are truly a lovely lady. You make my heart sing. I discovered your videos and am truly hooked. Loved watching you spend the day truly being a wonderful caregiver. Would love to see you make more videos of your days and of course, crafts. God bless!
oooh, I don't know about that - take a break now and then! Some of the easier ones make me cringe! some of the later ones too to be honest! I avoid watching them!!! xxxxx
Bless Rocky, although he’s feral he trusts you enough to let you feed him & although he felt scared he still came inside your window for a few mins, he may in time let u get closer to him. He looks such a gorgeous little kitty cat xx
I doubt it Trisha, I've been feeding him like that for at least five years. only in the winter. He's ok out on the farm, plenty of warm barns to sleep in. poor old guy! xx
I think I like watching your videos because you are in north England and thing where you are are so different than where I am. I’m in Oklahoma, USA, sort of rural/urban mix in a university town. There is about 120K population, and a lot of college students. But, everytime you video driving I get a sort of shocked feeling bc I instantly “OMG! Wrong side!” There are hens and bird feeders in the back yard - we don’t call it a “garden”. Your poly tunnel is our greenhouse. So, it’s fun seeing what is actually different between us, and what is the same.
I've done my share of paper piecing! Fortunately I was only interested in circles at the time. Made a lot of quilts with colorful sort of targets on them. Loved spending the day with you today. I need some of yor cats as the mice have moved in for the winter!
The farm has plenty of rodents to keep the local cats occupied, I', sure Ben(the farmer) is rather pleased to have so many felines. My two tortoiseshell cats are extremely good hunters. As for the paper piecing, I suspect there are millions of hexagons all over the world waiting to be sewn together! never done circles mind, that sounds hard! xxx
@@thelasthomelyhouse would love to try the hexagons! If you lived across the street I'd stop by and grab a bundle. Circles are easy. I guess I should really call them "rounds", as there is no hole in the middle. I've thought about getting a kitty for my Airstream but my first love is dogs. I had a little rescue dog who came with me when I moved into the Airstream. She has since passed away. I'm ready now to get another dog and would have to do that first before getting a kitty. And I'm not sure how we'd all fit in the space. I mean, we'd fit but would we all get along LOL. Wanted to add a photo of one of my "target" quilts here, but don't know if that's permitted or even possible. I've seen people add links but not photos. Any ideas? I suppose if everyone could post photos here it could get out of hand!
Oh, what a lovely drive. English countryside is gorgeous. Did you make your coat? I love it. Poor Rocky. I feed two ferrel cats. They are tense too. Great video. Very interesting to see “a day in the life of Kate”. Sounds very much like my days. Thanks for sharing. 😊
I made green tomato chutney this year. I used golden raisins, lots of spices; allspice, cloves, black pepper, etc.. It's delicious! Rocky is a handsome kitty :)....and you have the funnest gadgets and crafting tools! It looked like a most gorgeous day be mundane. Take care Kate!
Very relaxing watching you on a beautiful autumn day. I have off work and this was very relaxing to watch. I love how you never waste a minute. Everything you do is purposeful. Very inspiring. You give off a real sense of peace. Just what I needed after a very chaotic week.
Loved seeing your yard and English countryside! Thanks for taking me on your journey. Driving on the opposite side of the road. Lol. I'm from Canada. Beautiful!!
It's 10 pm October 31st and I am heading off to bed after watching your lovely video that is both relaxing and inspiring. You would make such a delightful neighbor.
I feel like a i have found a whole host of virtual neighbours! right here on this channel. I live a very solitary life, but I like it! Thank you 'neighbour' xxx
Kate I LOVE your vlogs. But that wheat grass - ahhhhh! I hope you feel its benefits? I’d go for the birds peanuts myself. Haha Oh love your wee spot in the quiet farm. What a peaceful place. It reminds me so much of the countryside in the north of Ireland Where I was born. It makes me homesick. I live in Virginia USA now for over 40 yrs. but I will always think of my Waterside home in Derry and the north Antrim coast as my heart home. Rocky looks rough. Oh I hope you can get him some vet care.
Rocky.....could he be a Daddy ? I'm glad you feed him. Do you fix him an enclosure to get out of the wind and snow ? It was great to see Harry and Thomas. Will the wild birds eat an apple cut in half ?
Hi Kate. Love the vlog of your day. Oh my those kittens got big and so beautiful. My mom is a bird person. She always feeds the birds on her balcony. I noticed that huge bag if peanuts. Where did you get that? My mom buys those small nets at they are expensive. What a beautiful town. So homey. Not those horrible buildings they build nowerdays. Cute Rocky. Not relaxed at all. But he trust you enough to come back and close enough to get the food. Never knew a six machine could be used for fabric. It reminded me oof when I kearned patchwork from my teacher when I was I think 9 or 10 years old. Our project was to make a soft ball for a baby. I still have it somewhere. Love these kind of videos. 💕xxxx
Hi Sandra! the kittens are amazing aren't they, as bit as their Mum Sadie now! When I buy my poultry feed in huge sacks, I get peanuts and sunflower seeds too - I have space to store them ... I guess it would be hard to keep such amounts in a smaller house to flat. Poor old Rocky. its going to be hard on him when winter comes properly ... but I've seen him hanging around for years, I feed him when I see him, but months go by when he's just away on the farm somewhere - there are plenty of places to keep warm in the barns. I only use my Sizzix for fabric! ha ha!! Thank you for your comment Sandra - I feel really supported by the little community on this channel! xxx Take care xxx
Hey sweetie 🙋 I have just came over to your channel after Claudia recommended you to me and from what I see, I think I shall thoroughly enjoy looking through your videos in the coming days 👍😁 big hugs xx
I don't know if anyone else has suggested this to you, but if you want to ripen half-ripe tomatoes, put them in a brown paper bag and leave them in your hot press ( I think English people know this as an airing cupboard). They will ripen well there - even green ones - but check them every couple of days and try not to forget about them! This only works in a brown paper bag - a white one lets in too much light.
Hello, I'm new to your videos. And I love them and in this one the coat you have on I love it and wondering if you made it. The one you pick the tomatoes in. Thanks
I’ve been wanting to make a hexagon quilt for a very long time. Yesterday I went to Hobby Lobby and found 2 different sizes of the hexagon pattern pieces. They were on clearance. I was one happy lady. Can’t wait to get started on it. ♥️☕️
What a great video, watching you feed everyone makes me smile, I love feeding the birds to. Rocky is adorable, I wish he would just let you stroke him and show him some affection then I'm sure he would like it x
HOWDY 💜🇺🇸👩🎤 I FOUND THIS VIDEO TO BE VERY RELAXING. I REALLY NEEDED THAT TODAY I HAVE BEEN UP SINCE 4:30 am It is 7:30 and I sat to have a cup of coffee and watch this video. Thank you Kate. Hope Rocky remains in your yard and finds some peace. Sure looks like he has had a hard life. Perhaps cats fighting too. He has great markings he could be a handsome looking guy. Signing off Scott's wife Vickie
Kate, you inspired me to grow wheatgrass, I now have a tray sprouting. I just watched your trip to the candlemakers, my what a professional setup. I'm always glad to see a local craftsman doing well. BTW, do you know that the comments on the candle video are disabled?
J B oh! I didn’t know that! I’ll go and check it out, thank you. I might have to do a start to finish video about wheat grass, I’ll add it to the List! Xxx enjoy yours, do you have a masticating juicer? That’s essential! Xxx (funny question!) 😂❤️😊
Hi Kate- I think some of us would be glad to learn your tips on how to grow wg, and especially your experience with finding the best juicer. I haven't priced one for several years... a couple times a day I used to pop a small bundle, fresh cut into my mouth and chew, and chew. I've been out of the habit for several years, so seeing you start your day with wg juice reminded me of what a good tonic it is.
Enjoyed your Wednesday. Have you tried ripening your green tomatoes? My mom would put a layer in a box and store them in a cool dark place to ripen them. Or perhaps, you might make salsa verde to bottle. Thank you for sharing, your videos are a treat for me and I always check for the next one. So nice to see the cats, the kittens have grown so quickly, it seems.
Thank you ... all the tomatoes are now processes - either chutney or pasta, one in jars, the other in the freezer for winter. I got a bit sick of tomatoes to tell you the truth! ha ha ha!!! xxx
It was a pure delight going along with you as you live your day. I've just found your channel and watched a few of your videos. You live in such a beautiful place.
I’m watching your November mundane Wednesday video you do realise none of your days are mundane😂 I so enjoy watching. You fill them with such interesting things it’s great🦋💙
We also have wild cats 5 to be exact. I have rescued 4 in the past, kept one to be with one existing and found homes for the others. I had all they shots and neutering done, but doesn’t end people get tired of their cat and just release, so unfair 😢
It was great to see Harry and Thomas! Poor Rocky - I feel so bad for the animals who have to fend for themselves. I just learned recently about eating rolled oats raw, like cold cereal and I love it! A banana and blueberries add the sweetness (I use maple syrup on hot oatmeal), and I add flax meal, blackberries and raspberries.
I enjoyed your Wed, you are a caregiver at heart, that's for sure and Rocky knows he's found his safe place. I appreciate the quality of your food, no wonder you have so much energy! It was great to see the storybook setting that you and your neighbors live in, beautiful countryside/village. Thanks for sharing.

God bless!
It’s my aim to watch all your videos again and learn skills off u Kate, such a inspirational women!❤️
oooh, I don't know about that - take a break now and then!
Wrong side!”
There are hens and bird feeders in the back yard - we don’t call it a “garden”.
Love your coat.
no, many people ask if I made my coat - but no, it was an impulse buy one evening! never regretted it though! xxx
I have made far too much chutney this year - you know what everyone is getting for christmas don't you!! xxx
Very relaxing watching you on a beautiful autumn day. I have off work and this was very relaxing to watch. I love how you never waste a minute. Everything you do is purposeful. Very inspiring. You give off a real sense of peace. Just what I needed after a very chaotic week.
I'm really pleased you enjoyed it. thank you xx
Lovely. Would enjoy learning more about that paper piecing some time.
OK, I'll add it to the ideas I have for future videos. Thank you xxx
Loved seeing your yard and English countryside! Thanks for taking me on your journey. Driving on the opposite side of the road. Lol. I'm from Canada. Beautiful!!
Please do more of these!
I was talking about this with my d-in-l and she would like me to also! its stored away! future vlogs! xxx
Colorful bails of hay. Lovely video, thank you for sharing your day.
I really like them too - they have faces on them!! xxx
Kate I LOVE your vlogs. But that wheat grass - ahhhhh! I hope you feel its benefits? I’d go for the birds peanuts myself. Haha
Oh love your wee spot in the quiet farm. What a peaceful place. It reminds me so much of the countryside in the north of Ireland
Where I was born. It makes me homesick. I live in Virginia USA now for over 40 yrs. but I will always think of my Waterside home in Derry
and the north Antrim coast as my heart home. Rocky looks rough. Oh I hope you can get him some vet care.
Ahh kate, I think you have a lovely home and your daily life looks so amazing. I wish I could visit!
Rocky.....could he be a Daddy ? I'm glad you feed him. Do you fix him an enclosure to get out of the wind and snow ? It was great to see Harry and Thomas. Will the wild birds eat an apple cut in half ?
Awww, Rocky is so beautiful! ❤️
As a ceramic artist I very much appreciate you showing off your handmade pottery! :)
Hey sweetie 🙋 I have just came over to your channel after Claudia recommended you to me and from what I see, I think I shall thoroughly enjoy looking through your videos in the coming days 👍😁 big hugs xx
Hooray for Claudia! You are most welcome! Claudia is one of my most wonderful and loyal supporters. Give her a hug from me! xxx
Enjoyed our visit. Lol.
This only works in a brown paper bag - a white one lets in too much light.
love love it i to have a sizzix and im also learning EPP i love it so thank you for this
I love fried green tomatoes of all sizes. Have you tried them? A delicious way to use up the greens!
you won't regret it - its a labour of love with all that hand stitching - but so lovely! xxx
Lovely day. The kittens seem to have grown so quickly. I enjoy EPP hexies. I always have some on the go even if they haven’t become a quilt yet.
What a lovely day, thanks for bringing us along 😊. I do love when I get a glimpse of your postage stamp curtains, they always make me smile.
oh that teminds me i got some libert fabric hasnt gotten here yet but im so excited about it i liked your video
I love green tomato pickle my mom used to make it
What a great video, watching you feed everyone makes me smile, I love feeding the birds to. Rocky is adorable, I wish he would just let you stroke him and show him some affection then I'm sure he would like it x
Pickled Green Tomatoes. YUM! My grandma made them with her green tomatoes.
HOWDY
💜🇺🇸👩🎤
I FOUND THIS VIDEO TO BE VERY RELAXING. I REALLY NEEDED THAT TODAY
I HAVE BEEN UP SINCE 4:30 am
It is 7:30 and I sat to have a cup of coffee and watch this video.
Thank you Kate. Hope Rocky remains in your yard and finds some peace. Sure looks like he has had a hard life. Perhaps cats fighting too. He has great markings he could be a handsome looking guy.
Signing off Scott's wife Vickie
I use green tomatoes chutney in savoury mince for pasta etc.
Thank you! xxx
I’m watching your November mundane Wednesday video you do realise none of your days are mundane😂 I so enjoy watching. You fill them with such interesting things it’s great🦋💙
❤️❤️❤️
I love your coat! You made that right? I think we need to see it close up!
ILove the coat you are wearing ing the video!! Could you give us a bit of how you made it? Just terrific!
❤️
