My friend had a very smart geese. He lived indoors with other pets. He used to greet people, annoy strangers, visit outdoor regular places, guard my friend from hazards and much more. He was a full family member! 👍💖

This is HILARIOUS for me as a russian-speaking person bc there's a saying in Russian, "a goose is not a pig's comrade/a goose can't be friends with a pig" (гусь свинье не товарищ). It means that some people are too different (usually in their social standing, character or habits) to be allies or to take each other's interests into consideration. And here, behold: geese being comrades to a pig :)
I also hate them saying "he's as dirty as a pig" when some human is too dirty. While is a pig really that dirty animal? - No, it's the humen who make them dirty. Or there's even more stupid phrase "Drunk as a pig" - whut?

Animals don't have human feelings but this scene is touching. Humans are supposed to domesticate themselves.
Animals don’t think like people. They think I’m terms of survival. Yes, the pigs might be in a safe setting, but in the wild the weak piglet would attract predators. They don’t want it near them because it stands as a weak link.

How does this story indicate at all that animals have feelings? This is instinctive behavior. Not compassion or emotion. Animals do not have feelings like us you should know that by now. The more you believe Disney is real the more further you are going to be pushed from reality.

There's an instinct in geese to look after pigs?
Animals that have to survive in similar niches will usually have similar traits and survival mechanisms, that's Evolution.
Our brains have layers, like the more basic amygdala, through to the more complex outer layers. We have a "lizard brain" as it were, then a basic mammalian part, and so on. Other creatures have the more basic structures, and then, as they are more evolved to deal with their particular niche, more complex outer layers (that are nowhere near as complex as ours).
Just look at a cat or dog while they are sleeping, often, they will show that they are dreaming, from their reactions to what is going on. Obviously they have a sens eof self.
Just look at the large number of species that have shown empathy and altruistic behaviour.
Feelings, in their most basic forms, can just be pleasure, misery, fear or anticipation of something tasty coming their way. You are seriously lacking in some department in your own brain if you believe that other animals don't have feelings. And notice that I say *other animals,* because, guess what? *Humans are animals, too!*

Birds do have small brains, however, they have more densely packed neurons than mammals do, which would go some way to explain how birds, with small brains, can often perform relatively complex tasks, and work out puzzles.

I had a baby duck when I was a kid. I was there when he hatched and he was with me his whole life. I was out of school for the summer when he was born and he was with me all summer and then he slept with me he woke up with me he ate with me. He was my duck.
