Just a little fun fact: Dovetail Games actually went to a heritage railway to record a real 8F for the sfx in the game

@@xxx_snipeaduck69_xxx46 clearly you have no clue just how difficult it is to arrange recording sessions for a freaking steam locomotive
You can race trains in train Sim world to by going to the Great Western railway and go to tools and click on scenario planner make a scenario name it anything go to scenario details and make sure you Quick off the rails then select a start maker to reading platform 10 the Select path to London Paddington platform 2 then select in marker to London Paddington platform 2 do not select any stops then pick any train then add any formation then enter any name set the start time to 11:55 then enter player service if you want to have that train or do passenger service if do not want to have that train then confirm it then add a another start marker then select start marker at Reading platform 15 then select the path to London Paddington 14 then select the end marker at London Paddington platform 14 do not select any stops the choose any train then any formation then name it any thing make the start time to 11:55 then choose player service if you want to drive it or choose passenger service if you do not want to drive that train then confirm then go back to tools and click back on to scenario planner and select it and you can play it

Edit: WSR trains consist of 6 coaches, unless it's a special event like a gala or something.
We also run 7 coach trains! On normal service days

Very nice, Oliver! Just so you know, that lamp that you have is actually a tail lamp - a lamp that goes at the back of the train. I've got a southern disc at home and it is a magnificent item to have in a collection. Great video!

@@LaZeRJET There's no contest, Steam engines are the greatest. Hey, maybe Dovetail games could make simulations with classic engines, like the E2 tank engines.
@@joeleboeuf E2 is very overrated though. if it were old fashioned, something like a B12 or LSWR machine would be good
A4 Pacific's would look good

Heello Oliver just followed your tutorial for steam on WSR, Very clear instructions ,success much appreciate your help with this .
out of all the already existing routes in TSW2, The West Somerset Railway desperately needed a steam locomotive with it being a preserved railway that runs steam engines. Specifically GWR prairie tanks and GWR Manor class
I think the next steam locomotive route that should be in Train Sim World 2 is the Rio Grande narrow gauge (Durango and Silverton & Cumbres and Toltec)
I would love to see duchess of Sutherland in the game
Same here, its a favourite locomotive of mine, particularly love the look of the princess coronation class when they're un-streamlined.
Oh yes duchess of sutherland would be nice i want to see the standard 5 or the standard 4 tank engine

Now that they have steam trains in the game it’d be cool to see something like the nickel plate road 765 or the 1225 or the up fef or even the a3 or a4. Also when I rode behind the 4501 which is a steam locomotive in the USA I definitely stuck my head out of the coach/carriage and in the USA most steam locomotives running today are using oil as fuel but some like the 4501 and the 765 and 1225 to name some that still use coal and when I stuck my head out of the coach I got a bunch of soot and ash on my face and hands

They are wanting to add steam to West Somerset but the way it’s set up is diesels are set up for one loco but the tender counts as a separate part so they would have to redo the whole timetable

I have spirit of steam is really cool but the steam ran out sadly because the heating was not on and it wasn’t moving on the line It was just a little weird by how it ran out on the mainline so realistic

I love the steam locomotives in this but there's a bug with the mk1 coaches in the game the passenger cycle doesn't run
There's a mod that adds a whole new timetable to WSR, which has steam in the timetable
