It's pronounced like Shy-enne (I live there.) Can't say as I've ever seen this game, but the modeling looks really good. That's the UP Depot downtown and looks very realistic. Actually it's flat leaving Cheyenne, then gets more mountains towards Laramie. Kind of curious if they have coal trains that leave Gillette, WY and head southeast...those trains can be a couple miles long.
There are coal trains also but i dont think theyroute goes as far as Gilette
What an awesome Train simulator. I live in Windsor,Ontario,Canada which is across the river from Detroit. I’ve got some cool video footage of the “CP Rail Freight Trains” going in & out of the Windsor/Detroit River Tunnel which is really cool & very rare to witness obviously. I’ve got both day time & night time footage of the “CP Rail Freight Trains” tunnel footage. I’ve also got a bit of “CN Rail Snow Plow” footage up north in Ontario,Canada in which is amazing to witness especially at crossings where they will normally have 2 “CN Engines” pushing the orange “CN Snow Plow” & sometimes the snow ❄️ is like powder & you can’t even see the Train come flying through the intersections & the guy in the plow has to pull in his plow wings at crossings. I have a few video’s of a “CN Streamliner Engine” doing snow ❄️ plow work as well. Anyways Cheers From 🇨🇦 🚂
@@sudsysutherland359This game has a CN route that goes from Hamilton to Oakville. The route is called the CN Oakville Subsivision. I bet you’d be able to find some gameplay if you searched it
Note: If you apply automatic brake AND still want dynamic brake just release the independent brake and hold it on bail off until it gets to 0.1 then dynamic will work again with automatic brake applied.
Absolutely love the look of the Sd70ACe, Especially in Norfolk Southern colors
Oh yea
I love your commentary, just found you, very informative as well. I have this game for the ps4, love it!
Omg thank you so much! Your knowledge helped me solve an issue ive been having for months!
Thank you soooooo much for this video. Ive been at this for hours and could not keep the train from surpassing 110 mph. The computer setting did the trick. No other video showed the computer settings. You saved whats left of my sanity 💚
Haha so glad i could help!!
If you don't want to wait forever for your Air to charge Leave the Reverser in Neutral and set the Throttle to notch 1. They are simulating compressor charge rate with throttle position.
Will do!
or just turn on banking comm before you insert the reverser
I THINK how Dynamic Brakes actually work is- the devices that drive locomotive wheels are actually giant electric motors (the diesel fuel just turns a giant motor that generates electricity that is sent to the traction motors). The dynamic brakes "reverses the polarity" of the traction motors to "generate" electricity instead of use it; the electricity "generated" becomes heat, basically like using a giant magnet to slow the train down. The reason the independent brake needs to be bailed off is because running dynos at the same time as brakes will generate enough heat to either melt the wheels or set the track on fire.
Just stumbled upon your channel, I can tell right off the bat you put a lot of effort into your videos. Anyways keep up the good work, and look forward to watching more of your videos.
Heyyyy noah thank you so much
no worries!
This guy, gives the information you need for the railroad, but dumbed down a ton. This gave some info to me, thanks
Nice shots! Great scenery too!
Great job, Helped me play the game. Thank you
Glad i could help
Very interesting with your narration!
Great content👍🏻
Hey Will thank you
It’s so slow that you could literally get up and explore the engines and not worry about your speed going to the mountains it’s insane.
Yep
Those EMDs sound good 👍🏾
Great commentary many thanks
Glad you enjoyed it
WOW Dude Brand new to your channel! Dang Good video. New Sub and like! keep up the amazing work!
Thank you so much and welcome to the fam
@@BluGames your welcome! And thanks bro!
Nice video 🙂👍
Thank you
Yay, more trains
Yeaaa
I just bought the game and i love it man
Yoooo glad you like it
Hi blu love your videos keep it up!
Thank you so much
Blu, you forgot to switch on Distributed Power and Banking Comm which was why you didn't get at the bear minimum of 20mph out of this.
You are fully qualified to do this for real!
I dont know about that.. but i would love to try
hi blu i really like the upp train it was vary heard to getg the train up that hill wow1
I hope 3985, or the Big boy can be recorded and added to this route. Not sure there are any plans for that, it's not something that could be done easily, unless there is a heritage line fast enough, and able to take the axle loadings,I think it would be popular.
I havent thought about that.. but yea thats would be EPIC!!
Ok when you complete a timetable service, or scenario the first time, there are points and medals. The second completing the same run , it doesn't award medals. just some points. Do I need to setup a dovetail account to get the ratings, or is it the first that only gets ratings/medals?
That is pretty realistic. Your break pipe should be 75+ on the tail end before you leave, it has nothing to do with the power up the hill and everything to do with your train brake.
Im pretty sure dynamic brake isn't power diverted to the engine from the traction motors. Its actually diverted to a giant set of resistors and heat sinks on top of the train my friend. What u are probably hearing is the heat sinks working ther ass off to keep the resistors from burning up
Later found out these brakes were implemented wrong to begin with
Its weird the game doesnt let you use dyno and auto brake at the same time. Its 100% done in real life. The key is you must always kick off the automatic brake before the dyno as taking the dyno off first can cause hard run ins or in bad cases cause you to get a knuckle. Love the vids!
What train did you use for custom scenario all I have is auto rack mixed auto with is boxcars and autos racks the other mixed is a grain train and the rest is tank and refrigerators
Hey Blu, I can advise you on how to use the dynamic brake & automatic brake so they work together at the same time if you still not using them together
Sherman hill is the steepest hill in the Union Pacific root from shy-enne
Mixed Freight Trains Are Called Manifest Trains
Ok which route specifically is this? I have this dlc but can't figure out which timetable route has this specific train. I really like super heavy trains like this so I bought the dlc but can't find this large train.
Now I like planes but THIS IS BETTER
Great!!
4 loco's is not enough power to haul a train this long..... I'm surprised that this has not been fixed.
Hey my friend, I love your videos but I am wondering if you could explain how do you weather locomotives in transit route four I am playing on PS5
The locos here are super dirty as compared to in the game, they also use ES44s and I've seen a T4 SD70 too
Oh yea huh
I know I am super late to the party on this video but I noticed on my playthrough that I kept failing over and over. I finally got annoyed and checked an actual online manual for the locos and realized the game never set up my other locos to "slave" the lead car and help push/pull. Once I did a set up on all the engines I was going about 20 up a decent grade.
Yea sadly the game doesnt tell you that.. thats very important lol
I have a few questions.....one..where can I get this simulation?? And where can I get that cool controller??? Thanks brother!!!
Hi there, I have only been recently been following you on You tube and have a question in relation to am I able e to get this TSWORLD FOR MAC OS.
If you can let me where i would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
Anthony S
Does the engine at the back supply ait to the braking system so you get a feed from the front and the back ? I now very little about us freight as I never play them. For me they are just so slow and dull. And complicated signal systems. . Nice video well . Good explanation of what you are doing.
All locomotives on the train supply power and braking
@@BluGames okay. Thanks
Love this game., but I struggle with the SD70ACE
G4E Chicago-linden (Ethanol) on horseshoe curve, how do you set up the locomotives on the rear of the train?
On rear of the train the brakes should be set to “trail” and “cut out”
Is there any good sound pack for GE locomotives? Because the default one is not that good specially the horn sucks
Someone needs to explain to Dovetail Games how dynamic braking works...
Why do you say that?
Yea they got it wrong here
@@BluGames i would recommend trying out run 8 train Simulator v3 has real Physics
I like to jump into train sims, however, I have two questions.
1. What gear do you use to steer and operate the train?
2. This is most important. Does your gear allow for force feedback? In our racing sims we get force feedback on our steering wheel. Do you get this in Train sims?
1. Nothing. Just keyboard and mouse. But there is a hardware out there called “rail driver”
2. No force feedback except “maybe” vibration on a controller
I really hope you did not just ask how to "steer a train".... -__-
If you have a substantial sub-woofer, there will be plenty of vibration.
@@Island_Line_Rail_Productions how else do you get it to go straight
Did you actually just ask if you steer a train??
Wow, the internet just got dumber.
needs a mod that adds train-hopping hobos that you have to shoo away to get the authentic experience.
That would be cool
"Hobo detected, press B to notify the bull" 😂
Dynamic Brakes are also like the Thrust Reversers on a airplane
They actually aren't like that at all. Dynamic brakes do not provide "thrust" rearward, or direct thrust to the rear. Instead of using electricity to generate rotational motion while in throttle, they become electrical generators which send electrical energy into a resistor grid which creates resistance and heat. Simplified, this creates a retarding force through electrical resistance, until rotation of the traction motors stops, but it does not apply thrust. You can't use dynos to move in reverse, for example.
@@kensingtonchapp4819 Thanks for the info! 👍🏽
@@controlx238 Anytime
What scenario did you play in this video ? i tried to replicate this but I'm maxing out at 80 cars only. How do i get to drive this behemoth 100+ cars train ?
100+ cars is only allowed on latest Gen Consoles and PC.
Should be 89 but could move when it’s 76 if you have a ways that it will charge up for you.
Ok thanks
Ok a few things I was an “engineer” not train driver for 11 years on the Missouri Pacific and Union Pacific! Next I operated dynamic brakes and automatic brakes all day every day. This was in the 1980’s one would think they still work together. The only limitation was dynamic brakes would “drop off” below 3 miles per hour and as the engineer you had better be ready for that. Also I handled 18 thousand tons and above on a regular basis. You don’t start off in throttle 3 or 4 unless you plan to rip the train in two pieces. Beyond that you do a good job, I think you need to get a better understanding of real train handling.
the only time things happen fast is when they are going very wrong
How did you get that long mixed freight train because when I go to the timetable I only have short trains. I’m on ps4 so please help me out.
Yea ps4 has shorter trains.. i think max 50 cars
@@BluGames oh thank you for telling me. Sadly on my pc it’s really laggy
Blu is there a chance you could link the klinchfield video your talking about at 23:30 or so... dont know anything about US locations so searching for it sounds really tough but sounds like a moment id like to watch
No problem here you go!! And thanks for watching
ua-cam.com/video/5gqN37ng7Po/v-deo.html
Wassup Blu just wanna say the graphics on yours is killer, I play Tsw 2020 for ps4 and it doesn’t look as good as your pc version
Yea sadly ps4 version wont look as good as pc. But it does look good on next gen
can they make boston subway line or onther csx route
Use dynamic brakes while going down here and put ur train brake on 5 pounds 84 psi or 80
When I play free roam on Sherman hill the signals be glitching and they don’t change at all and it causes a traffic of trains do you know why the signals don’t change at all
It’s a glitch they have not fixed. I know how you feel, it sucks
In real life if your brake pressure is at 0 it means your train is in emergency. Realistically if you get on a train that is tied down the brakes should be charged and set to 70 ibs.
I would like to download TSW2 and Sherman Hill to Canada, will Steam allow me to buy it and download?
Yea u can get tsw and sherman hill on steam
I send the train 180 mph and then proceed to put the automatic at suppression 7 to 9 miles before I finish 😂😂😂
Your conductor would have pulled the plug on you for speeding like that lool
I'm considering buying this route. I love heavy trains and tons of weight. Why do you only ever use the dynamic brakes? I've only ever used the auto brakes.
Cause it's better for steep grades
@@huntermentch ah ok.
If I only have train sim 3 can I still use the norfolk southern add on. Its says you have to have train sim 2
Yes u can use norfolk on train sim world 3. As long as you bought it on the same platform
@@BluGames
Thanks bro
So theres only SD70ACE units in this map?
Also sd40s
@@BluGames alright
My wife's step dad use to run some lovos out by kemmerer wyoming an he'd do tanker switching for ExxonMobil mobile.
What is the horsepower on each one of these units?
I actually dont know
Taking 3 hours is pretty quick compared to the real railroad. I have worked on a train between Seattle and Portland and took almost 12 hours.
Jeez seriously? Why so long
Howdy ...I finally got my monster gaming computer and I got train sim 3 but I don't think I got the whole game. Can you help me understand this stuff??? Not really computer savvy. I would love to be able to build my own train. Any help would be appreciated!!! I have the rail driver control. Thanks brother!!!!
Why didn't you turn the comm on!? You would have been going a lot faster.
Do you ever mess with livery design
Honestly no. I dont have the patience unless i can do it in photoshop
I Use 6 Units To Pull 6 Dpu's In The Middle 50 Car's in And 2 TO Push At The Back I Make My Own Consist's It's Very Easy With This Build
Instead of 1 big heavy train of 100 wagons and 4 locos. Wouldn't 1 loco with 25 wagons be quicker and safer . 4 smaller trains ?
This short video actually explains why MASSSIVE US Frieght trains are coat effective
@@BluGames okay. Was just a thought. 25 wagons is massive were I come from. 👍
In real life, trains are longer because of corporate greed, and nothing else. The longer the trains, the fewer crews (and less fuel) that are required to run them, saving companies money. 4 trains takes 4 crews, versus one long train requiring one crew between crew change points.
shy-ann wyoming.
Damn train won't move after applying emergency brakes in Sherman hill.
What to do?
How did you apply them, Did you use the emergency brake on the Conductors side or the automatic brake?
@@rack_9 automatic brake
@@submariner4762 Did you release your automatic brake and wait for your BP to reach 90?
@@rack_9 yeah. Released and reached to 90. Still ain't Moving. But When I detach The Engine, it'll move.
@@submariner4762 That's weird, Is all your breakers and switches on such as generator field, engine run, fuel pump, control?
Why this train too slow?
Its just heavy and hard to go any faster up the hill
It’s that a horn mod? 3:49
I think because in game it sounds completely different also the bell
You missed horn signs😅 many of them
I been help I try stock it train
I tried my best but, the sound profile and physics generator are too far off for me with this game compared to Run 8. this game TSW2 is a no go for me.
I just got into run8 a few weeks ago! Besides the gfx i love it
@@BluGamesYea bro Run8 is far better in terms of physics and controls. There's no way in hell I should have to dam near use al of my air going downhill on Sherman with a 1.5-1.8% grade and only 2800ft . Compared to Run8 I can easily go down Cajon with a 7000ft 11000ton train with a 2 or 3% grade. Dovetail still needs to learn how trains work.
Hello new here just started watching was going to ask but just answered myself you're Not going by the "I think quote" real life railroaders don't think we know. Trivia question 3:30 given you have a Rear DPU Helper power doesn't that give off its own braking effort? Good thing this game isn't realistic because going into Notch 4 from dead start 4:55 on Tangent Track would mess up the Locomotive Traction Motors and that's just the loco Not going into Freight in real life, understood going to get a lot of hate but if you're going to name your game "Simulator" get it right the first time.
Nice game has it, is it Real NO not at all Arcade style mixed with a little real but more Arcade. Physics are all wrong. Railroads in real life do a lot that DTG don't show or have in game, example before leaving Said yard either crew change, or new train all get an FRA safety brake and walk test before leaving said yard. Railroad Mainline Units run with more power than they need or have for other reasons as they can stop and power up another offline unit to add more power or braking as a single unit by itself SD40-2 can push pull No Joke 82 Freight cars by itself reason why locomotives are grouped together is to stretch out distributed it self-making its mass power larger. Reasons why Slugs are mostly used in yards because of low center of gravity and can crawl at speeds of 5mph pushing 200 cars easy.
sorry up
😂😂😂😂
