    Ok, Tati, you mentioned to let you know what we think in the comments, well here it goes. I agree with everything you say. But, I do have a few tried, and true beauty suggestions. Learn to sleep on your back (if health allows), and sleep with a silk/satin pillowcase. Sleeping on your back, keeps the body in proper alignment, and reduces wrinkles, and the dreaded "crevice crease." The silky pillowcase, reduces stress on your hair. Do not pull, and tug on your eyes. If a eye product requires stretching the area around your eyes, don't use it. Buy something different. Never touch your face with your hands, after applying your cosmetics. If something itches, dab it with a tissue. And lastly, hydrate enough (if health allows) until your urine is clear, to pale yellow. I could use the best skincare in the world, but if I don't drink enough water, it shows in my face the very next day. Oh, I could go on, and on, but I will stop here. You are one of the few large channels I watch. I loved your tip about placing cold beauty items in your cleavage to warm this up. Blessings.....MaryEllen

      Crevice crease is the crease you get on your chest between your cleavage after sleeping at night, which develops as you age and especially if you sleep on your side 😁

    there used to be a nail salon near me who with your first visit they gave you a box and you wrote your name on it they opened brand new items in front of you and those where yours, when you came in you told them your name and they got your box out from the room, I always thought that was really cool.

    I'm in cosmetology school, and infection control is a huge deal. Unfortunately, many people aren't completing all of the necessary steps to insure proper sanitation and disinfection. You're not being dramatic for being concerned about that! I've heard many stories of people being hospitalized from tools that have not been properly cleaned.

    A little tip I picked up with the lemon water... put some grated or thinly sliced fresh ginger and a tiny dash of Cayenne Pepper in as well - it makes it a lot easier to take! I also freeze this concoction into cubes, so you just pop out a cube each morning and add to boiling water. So easy and convenient and makes me personally more likely to stick with it.

      @jmsfamilyonly 9 років тому +6

      No. Don't go and see an esthatician. You need to see a dermatologist who is actually going to give you permenant results rather than an esthatician who won't. I don't know what degree of hyperpigmentation you have but personally, I have/had horrible acne scarring and my dermatologist has had me do a chemical peel and I've seen results already. I am going to further have microderbrasion and am going to be on a skin-peeling medication that will have my face clear in 6 months. An esthatician will not be able to give you these results especially if your skin is in need of serious care. I would know.

      Dermatologists are a wonderful resource, but FYI, estheticians also handle chemical peels and microdermabrasion treatments as well as the IPL (intense pulsed light) mentioned by Tati. I would recommend looking into a series of LED treatments.

    Thank you for mentioning the nail salon mishap. I rarely ever go, and I never heard of that ever happening. However, the only time I go is after winter for my feet, because my feet get so dry during the winter that no matter how much lotion or scrubbing you do every day it will always get dry again by the end of the night. So I just treat my self once sandal season comes around to make sure it is perfectly smooth, and then once it is warm it stays smooth for the rest of spring, summer, and fall. Not sure why it gets so dry in just winter. I take better care in winter! Lol. Anyways I might bring my own pedicure kit next time. Not sure though, I have a pretty clean place I go to.

    • @KelseyCate
      @KelseyCate 9 років тому +1

      BrownSugarBeauty91 Lol no girl I do it too! I take care of my feet all year round, but for some reason even when I take care of them they still get rough and dry in the winter. So I just go to the nail salon like once a year for them to fix my feet, and then I am good for spring, summer, and fall. Haha. I may go twice a year if there is a wedding or my fiance gets me a gift card to go. However, my birthday in in the winter so I wait until the spring to redeem it. Lol.

    I started putting a lemon slice in my water about a year ago and definitely drink more water because of that since it's more refreshing and tastier.
    Regarding not wearing sunscreen, in my opinion wrinkles are the least of the sun damage consequences. Yes, not ALL sunscreen avoiders will be diagnosed with skin cancer, but why even risk it? People die from it. People lose noses from it (like somebody I know). People face years of treatment from it. Just be safe!

    I have a tip about the lemon one! Basically every night put a lemon in front of your coffee granules or the coffee machine or whatever you drink in the morning and it will remind you to have the lemon water. If you still turn it away, you'll just feel really bad pushing the good option away to have the 'bad' one. Hope that helped!

    One tip I think everyone who is 16 and older should follow is: take a multivitamin. It's very, very, VERY difficult to ingest the amount of vitamins and minerals your body needs in this day and age. Don't use it as a supplement, but as a complement to healthy eating habits. It will cover anything you may not have gotten on a given day.

  • @micapetey

    Also, as far as sunscreen, add SKIN CANCER as something you want to avoid. I just got the Supergoop sunscreen and setting spray to use every few hours and the Peter Thomas Roth brush-on SPF is great if you have oily skin or don't want to spray your face - it combats shine and protects.

    Great video! Question - when you drink lemon water does it have to be warm? I drink a ton of water but I really prefer it to be icy cold! I am a cancer survivor and I'm trying to add more things like that into my lifestyle. Also, I'm SUPER glad that you are committed to sun protection! I have worked at Sephora for almost 9 years and so many people refuse to use it. I can't tell you how many people have said "I don't need sunscreen cause I don't go outside." Really?! Then how did you get here?? Sadly it is easier to convince someone to protect their skin against signs of aging vs. the risk of skin cancer. I think it's the whole "It won't happen to me!" mentality. I never thought I'd get a super rare soft tissue cancer at the age of 32, but it happened! Some of the new sunblocks that we have that I recommend are from Tarte, Dr. Dennis Gross, Supergoop and Murad. The brand that you mentioned, Coola, is new to Sephora and it's flying off the shelves, especially the makeup setting spray that you have. Thanks again for the video! I'm a big fan! 💋

      I say 'i dont need sunscreen' but that's because I literally never go outside - so much so last year I had a SEVERE vitamin D deficiency #whoops but also I'm allergic to pretty much every sunscreen I've ever used :/

      @haileyj831 9 років тому

      Emily Atkinson I'm allergic to many sunscreens as well. Try physical sunscreens instead of chemical sunscreens. Almost all sunscreens are chemical these days, and they're more irritating to sensitive skin. Look for ones that only have zinc oxide and titanium dioxide under the ''medical/ active ingredients". Hope this helps!

    • @emilyatkinson12
      @emilyatkinson12 9 років тому

      Yeah I think it's actually the titanium dioxide that I might be allergic to :/ Not sure exactly but that does seem to be a main ingredient in a few products I'm allergic to including makeup

      I drink my lemon water when it's either warm or room temp. When it's cold it takes all the benefits away from the lemon, I think that's the reason why it's better with warm water but don't quote me on that :p

    Ugh...warm water makes me gag, especially in the morning. :( One thing I wanted to say is that cutting your cuticles is bad, bad, bad!! Push them back and use great oils on them but don't cut them!! Nicole from Young Wild and Polished has really great tips about this and she has the most gorgeous nails and cuticles I've ever seen!! I agree with you that you can get a nasty infection from stuff like that. I actually got a staph infection and TRUST me I wouldn't wish it on anyone!! I actually have a scar on my face, right in the center of my forehead, from it and I hate it.

    I've noticed some younger girls use the makeup remover wipes, and then TADA, clean face! It's really important to wash the residue from those wipes off your face! After a long night when I just want to go to sleep, i'll just wipe my face afterwards with Simple, Micellar Water or Bioderma, and then splash some water on my facey face! Loved this video Tati! Beauty comes from the inside out in every way. Hugs!

  • @TheAggie2309
    @TheAggie2309 9 років тому

    Great video Tati, thanks for the tips! I have to agree: drinking coffee right when you wake up on an empty stomach is not good at all. I have seen a big difference myself; I used to drink it first thing in the morning. Now, I have breakfast and a glass of water and have my cup of coffee later, about 30-45mn later or even mid-morning and I feel way better (I have more energy, less stomach aches..). I try to add fresh lemon juice when I have fresh lemons on hand and it's a great way to wake up and feed your body. Always drink WARM water when you wake up, not ice cold like I have seen so many youtubers do... that's really harsh on the stomach!!

    Hi Tati! I have also been a sun worshipper. Grew up in the 70's 80' 90's, sunscreen rebel, tanning in the Mile High city of Colorado and the Rocky mountains also on the beaches of Southern Cali. I now have had a close call with skin cancer on my face and hyper pigmentation in my 40's. ANYWAY, I have a sunscreen suggestion for you, "Supergoop"! Complete physical sunscreen/broad spectrum 50 SPF. I love it! Does not break me out, it is not thick and doesn't give off the "white cast" and absorbs almost immediately. Stay beautiful and healthy!

    I'm so glad you are talking about the importance of sunscreen. I love how realistic you are about beauty and health. I'm from Australia, and I don't leave the house without sunscreen. The sun here is so bright that I have been burnt by sitting at a bus stop for 15 minutes. But no matter where you're from and the colour of your skin, sunscreen is essential. And one should never underestimate the impact of a hat and sunglasses either. Even if where I live you need sunglasses if you want to be able to see anything... :)

    So agree! Ever since I started making my green smoothie and drink one glass each day, my skin has been so so much better! Those annoying acne has totally gone! Those little bumps along the jawline is totally gone! I mix kale, baby spinach, green apple, avocado, cucumber/very small amount celery, and coconut water/purified water. I'm totally addicted to it. Sometimes I put a tbsp of hemp seed on top too. So I get plenty of good fat and vitamins and fibre.

    Most sunscreens break me out. However, I have been using Biore Aqua Rich SPF PA ++++. It is a Japanese sunscreen and it is light and effective.

    I loved this video, really interesting tips. I don't know if you've ever done a video like it but I would love to see a 'beauty habits you shouldn't be doing' sort of video... A sort of insight into how bad certain beauty treatments or products could be for us but we're so used to them it might be hard to stop or realise the damage they're doing?! That might be super interesting to see!

    Thank you for the video Tati. Health reminders are not boring. Keep em coming. Lets talk more about sunscreens, the face sunscreens in particular. Im also trying so hard to be good about using my protection, but Im only finding products that make me look purple (from the white cast) or are super oily, smell terrible, make my makeup slide around my face or sting my eyes. Its almost not worth the trouble. P.S. Budget friendly is also important.

    I like to toss lemon into a good green tea; my recommendation is the Jasmine Dragon Phoenix Pearls Green Tea from Teavana, it can be re-steeped up to three times if kept in the fridge between steeping. I start and finish most days with a cup of green tea.

      It increases the circulation so it can have a detoxifying effect as it helps transporting the toxins out. It is exfoliating and makes your skin super soft and smooth. It can also help to reduce cellulite (among other things). I'm sure google can tell you more, but those are some of the main things :)

    I have a Ninja and could be making amazing smoothies every day. I gave a similar machine to my daughter, who uses hers pretty regularly. I am drinking more water, getting good supplements, using excellent face and hair treatments, and not eating and drinking certain bad things, but I used to make veggie stir-fry, guacamole and smoothies almost all of the time. If I just do those things, walk at least twice a week, do planks every other day, and dance like a nut in my kitchen a few times a month, my health and appearance would change for the better within weeks. Thanks for what you do and share.

    So I have to work hard at keeping myself hydrated and started drinking water throughout the day a few years ago. Many times people eat when actually what they need is hydration. There are a lot of different estimates about how much you should drink but I find as long as I am having to run to the bathroom several times a day it means I am flushing a lot of toxins out of my body at a good rate. (tmi?)
    I love lemons but don't drink as much as I should.
    Agree 100 percent about the nail tools. You don't know how well those people sanitize their equipment.
    I am the worst about getting the greens I should have but have found that a juice machine has helped a lot.
    Chemical spf scares me. I try to stick with the mineral spf. Most sunscreen only lasts a few hours and needs to be refreshed throughout the day so a translucent mineral power is what I have been depending on for my face throughout the day.there are several available. I have seen the dark spots on older women that were "sun worshipers" and would like to avoid that look.
