Hey buddy, it's great to see a new video from you. And if this series follows your earlier format while exploring Out of the Abyss, then this is going TO BE AWESOME!
Your commentaries on out of the abyss are very useful! I wish you would consider make an dedicated playlist and add to the content, it very useful to rewatch before a game.
I strongly developed Ront after a hatred between he and the party warlock began brewing. After a while they became friends, referring to themselves affectionately as “iblith” which is a drow slur for non-drow. Eventually Ront sacrificed himself to safe the party, screaming Iblith as he created a diversion for the pursuing drow (completing his back story arc of abandoning this allies when they were in danger). I also developed each elite drow warrior, giving them fun rivalries with the PCs including a romantic connection between one of the drow and the party elf (he was attracted to the forbidden nature of a blasphemous, and obviously doomed relationship with a surface elf). The part even uncovered a a secret love affair between Shoor and Asha which ended up getting Shoor sacrificed to Lolth. During the pursuit, each drow elite became a mini boss with their own unique style of going after the party and fun rivalries with each character.
I am starting this adventure with my Saturday group soon (our session zero is next Saturday 4/9/22) and this has helped me better understand the layout of this module. Thanks for the content, and I look forward to the next installment!
Super hyped to see the new series finally starting! Your guide videos are (in my infallible opinion) some of the more descriptive, helpful, and entertaining on UA-cam! Hyped for more!
Listening to these place & people names is like watching an episode of teletubbies. A gang of nobbos emerge from the depths of Wankywank. Flobbadob casts Shinky Sparsy at Nucklewump the Slappywigs. Shinglebats the Beegoo attacks Dumpynuts with his Sword of Rellywelly and so on.
Great video. I'm playing this campaign. It has lots of holes to fill. Also I think WotC has made 5e Drow softer than previous editions, I run them old style though :3
Out of the Abyss was and still is the first (and for now only) campaign I'm DMing for. I don't trust myself to create a campaign on my own and the premise looked really good so I read through all of the chapters and invited a few close friends that I could DM for. Obviously, this being my first campaign, not all went perfectly and the first few sessions were "okey" imo, even if I prepared quite a lot. I'm sure this video would have helped me quite a lot if it came out around 6 months ago, but even now at least some advice about the NPCs will surely help me in the future. I "nerfed" the restraints and even if I let my party be creative the first few sessions I just went with the book-solutions to let them escape after that (only Ront, Derendil and Eldeth died) Right now my party loves Stool and cares a lot about him, kinda likes Sahrith and Jimjar but is really suspicious of Buppido since I don't really know how to play him. Most of the time he just tags along, give "normal" answers if needed and some information about Graklstugh but that's it. For Sahrith, I didn't know how to show his "insanity" but being overly nice to Stool makes sense. I think I'll start with that now! Anyway overall great video, awesome editing and amazing quality! I wish I could share this with my players, but keeping things like that a secret is a burden we DM's have to live with...
Still my favorite module to play, still my favorite module to run, but I'm DMing a fresh OOTA game for a new group of players who have never played it before, so I'm super interested in how I can spice things up for myself. Looking forward to the series!
my dm didnt roleplay a single npc, they basicly were non talking deadweight with no emotions or any hint of personality... so we decided to not give them any food and water till they all died... then he was upset why we would let them die lol
"And caverns where the sun never shines" shows a picture of a cavern where the sun is shining
Another friend DM started this campaining and ASAP I showed him your vídeos.
I simply Love this content of yours.
Aways the best my dear Bard Folkard.
Aaawww. Thank you!
Don’t really have anything to say, just commenting for the algorithm 💕
This is exactly the type of stuff I've been looking all over the internet to find. Great job and very well done, I'm now subscribed!

That's the plan!
Super helpful tips for running these NPCs. I was a bit daunted when I saw how many there were.
I just started running this game with my table a few weeks ago! Thanks for putting out this resource!

Looking to run oofa soon for my party after only running homebrew in the past. Looks complex, can't wait for more of these videos
