    This is the second in a series of videos that I'm creating comparing four popular Cherry Bomb® mufflers on all of my vehicles.
    This video compares the sound of the Glasspack, Turbo, Vortex and Extreme Cherry Bomb® mufflers. I do a series of accelerations and one long uphill acceleration to record the "drone" sound inside of the cab of the truck.
    Let me know in the comment section below which of the four mufflers you think sounds the best on my 1999 GMC Yukon SLT with the 5.7L 350 V8.
    If you like this video, give 'er a thumbs up and if you haven't already, hit that subscribe button and ring the bell so you can be notified when I post new videos.
    Stay tuned for another Cherry Bomb® muffler sound test on my 1997 Chevrolet Camaro with a 3.8L V6!
    Check out my sound tests on my 1999 Chevrolet Silverado with a 5.3L LM7 V8 here: • Comparing four Cherry ...
    Just a side note: I am not sponsored by Cherry Bomb. I purchased these mufflers with my own money. I like the product as well as the price.

    I went the stealth route with my ‘68 Camaro with 13:1 full-race 355. I put 30” Cadillac mufflers on it, so all you could hear was the the solid-roller valvetrain. Never got pulled over once. Zero drone at any RPM, which made cruising at any speed a real pleasure.

    Put the Extreme on it, then a single or dual tailpipes. For a single, a 4" tip at a 45 angle so it comes out on the corner, the edge of the bumper looks best IMO. My favorite look is more expensive but I love the classic duals straight out the back on each side of the hitch with 3.5" or 4" tips.
    And like others have said, full tailpipes will help with drone a lot, might fully eliminate it.
    On my 99 Suburban, I have a 2.5" x-pipe after the stock cats, then 2.5" pipes ran all the way out the back, parallel to each other like the stock exhaust. I have no tips, just turndows under the bumper. Mine does drone but it's because it's loud (I have Dynomax Bullet mufflers), and I'm used to the drone now so most of the time it's liveable.

    I've bought my 5.3 Tahoe with Cherry Bomb Extreme. I love it. But after hearing this - if I had to - I would swap to glasspack. The only thing that annoys me is - it is relatively loud around 2kRPM and makes traveling above 75MPH a bit unpleasant.

    • @matthewgreen8335
      @matthewgreen8335 7 років тому +1

      smrtrbl86 depends on how much your willin to spend. Corsa makes exhaust that has little resonance but it costs about a grand! Most mufflers like thrush, borla, dynomax, and others (again depends on what type) you will usually have mild drone about 1500 rpm enough to hear but not distracting.
