As a 6’5” homeless man currently staying there due to the devastation of Hurricane Helene, I give it an 11/10. A wonderful home, built and designed by wonderful people. Teddy and Taylor have provided their home free of charge to me and my pup until I am able to fix my own home. They are the best and most generous people I know. Forever grateful.
I consider myself a tiny home connoisseur considering the number of hours I watch...and this is the most aesthetically and brilliantly designed tiny home I have seen I cannot believe they aren't in the design world. I am blown away by the use of materials. The raised kitchen is just brilliant. I cannot say enough how much I love this one. Brilliant job, astounded they are amateur builders/designers.
I agree, I'm always blown away at the skills from non-trained people who just jump in and go for it. It has one of the best 'home' feels to it. Lots of clever and thoughtful touches. Love, love, love the exterior rusted metal look mixed with the black double doors. Definitely a 'wow' in my books. Great on them!
In 2019 I lucked out and purchased 2.5 acres on a environmental lake in northern Minnesota for $27,000, then I put up a 24x32 Pole Frame outbuilding for $26,000 For the next 4 years I finished the interior and since I was able to build slow I took full advantage of sales, marketplace and family handouts. Total cost of my property including a 20x24 garage $114,000. I am debt free.
When I see couches like the one in this video, I always wonder about the comfort level. I know he said they love it and cuddle on it all the time. But it doesn't have a back. If you just wanted to sit on it like a regular couch, your back would be up against the wall, and I can't see how that would be comfortable. Clearly it works for them, which is great
This is a beautiful tiny home. I especially love the kitchen and the storage crawlspace underneath, hidden by the pullout stairs. The only issue I have is the ladder to the sleeping loft. I could not do that at 64, and certainly could not age (more) in this home.
Born and raised in NC makes me appreciate the beauty it offers. You all made a great investment for having your own property. You're in a quiet space and place away from the city. Let no one invade it as the government wanted to try Asheville, NC, for its minerals. The mountain areas have so much beauty. 🤗
Adorable couple and fantastic home! The kitchen loft design, finishes and design aesthetic are perfect! I usually am drawn to larger tiny homes but honestly this is one of my all time favorites!! The deck and landscaping really add to the charm of your home. Absolutely brilliant. Congratulations you two and God bless.
I have never said this before and I have watched alot of tiny house videos, this is really one of the most well thought out homes. I love how they used their "basement" space.
Love the kitchen in this tiny house, and the bathroom too. The added storage by raising the kitchen is brilliant, and gives it a really great look. The clothes storage in the bathroom is also brilliant since the washer/dryer is right there. They did a great job.
Beautiful home! Every little thing about it is neat. Love all the artistic decisions. Not to mention the lovely property! Aside: You were 100% right about the single sink vs. the split sink. I went with a split sink and wished it was a single larger open space fairly quickly afterwards.
I got 14 acres of barren pasture in 2003 for £28.5k. Now it's woodland and orchard, and I've learnt and innovated several ways of natural building. These vids are great design inspiration.
This is hands down the best tiny house I've seen. I wonder if it's possible to get plans! Or at least pictures of each area to work off of, because this is amazing!!! I wonder if there's a dishwasher...only because with the full sink I am curious how you rinse the dishes as they get washed. Random question, I know. I freaking love this house and wish the video was longer with more detail!
Absolutely what I would love to have so it wasn’t my cup of tea, but everything else is down to the sky light in the bedroom that extra head room is absolutely amazing I could go on and on and on thank you.
Unless that's a real brick wall at the end of the kitchen, having the stove right up against the wall is a fire hazard. A 6 inch landing area to the right of the stove would be safer. Or a fire shield on the wall. Other than that, the house is perfect.
@@intherockies The bricks around the wood burning stove are real, but I was referring to the bricks next to the kitchen stove, forming the end wall. They could be real, but could be faux brick, which can pass for the real thing. If it is a real brick wall, I'd fear for it surviving being moved on a highway, but guess they've figured everything out.
In regards to your questionnaire, first, Ty for asking. 2nd when we support a channel, get the following up so you can make $$$, but then have to pay for ‘special’ segments it is to me like slapping the hand that feeds you. Again, Ty for asking.
I love the steps leading to the kitchen, the overall layout but I cant imagine getting down those steps/railing in middle of night to go to bathroom esp. in winters....very bad idea
my impression is they're talking in past tense in two ways - comparing the place they previously lived vs the new place... and that they're referring to the work they did to build this house that was built in the past.
I was curious about this too so I checked out there instagram - it sounds like they bought their neighbors property, expanding their 2 acres to 3 and moved into the home on that property. The tiny house is now an Airbnb!
You might be paying $550 a month, but it isn’t rent. It’s a mortgage that’ll eventually be paid off, after which the land is all yours. That’s what makes tiny house living worth it. I’m obsessed with tiny spaces, but the lack of storage space, especially in the kitchen, is what I wouldn’t be able to live with.

❤❤❤❤❤ I hope your situation can get resolved - so proud of the Asheville community for the help you are able to provide each other! (Teddy’s mom, btw)
Hugs. Please stay strong. I know it ain't easy at all

Great!! Live your true self 🌟✨
The key thing is to own land and your home!! No morgatge... self-efficient...I love it.. so beautiful
A cabin in the woods, I like everything about it. Perfect for me.
Glad to see that you own your land. Thats the key!
I love how the kitchen being higher up makes the living room seem more cozy. This is such a unique layout, I love it.
If the storage space under the kitchen is only 2',who gets the privilege of going in?

TS 6:23 I like the whole house filtration system with the "Homerun" setup. Very useful.
Absolutely brilliant! Such a clever layout and gorgeous.
Love your lovely home….. esp. how you designed steps / elevated the kitchen. Also your outdoor living.
This is a beautiful tiny home. I especially love the kitchen and the storage crawlspace underneath, hidden by the pullout stairs. The only issue I have is the ladder to the sleeping loft. I could not do that at 64, and certainly could not age (more) in this home.
well, it's not made to people that are 64 anyways.
Beautiful and thoughtfully designed! Kudos to them!!

Beautiful home & location- knowing you did this yourselves must be incredibly gratifying & satisfying. Well done all around- a real piece of heaven!

They are so blessed to be living this life of freedom! Gorgeous property!
The kitchen is so pretty
Believe me your home and location look like it was time well invested. I hope this place brings you a lifetime of happiness.
I have never said this before and I have watched alot of tiny house videos, this is really one of the most well thought out homes. I love how they used their "basement" space.
Awesome house, has everything that's needed
Very unique and charming.
Beautiful home. Owning the land is the best thing.
This is my absolute favorite tiny house .
The rustic look inside and out is beautiful. My style ❤❤❤
This is the nicest tiny house I’ve ever seen! Congrats all around.
Lovely home. Also very nice deck and fire pit area. I really like what you created. The utility/storage area under the kitchen is a great idea.😊❤
This is gorgeous. How perfect!
What an amazing home! I can't imagine the planning & hard work it took to come to this point - great job!
Beautiful both inside and out!
A beautiful home!!😍 Love the kitchen and the living room!🙏
I love this place. Brilliant ideas and beautiful design features. One of my favourites . You did a lovely job. And the setting looks perfect 🌷
This is magical! Amazing job!

Beautifully done, love your tiny house design and the lot, so close to nature, can’t get any better than that!

Great house. Cute couple. I hope they survived the recent hurricanes. 🙏
Very nicely done. My only issue with tiny home living is a bedroom that I can’t stand up in. But your decor and use of space…well done!
Beautiful spot in the trees. Love that it was a DIY too.
Loved the kitchen! Great job!
Happy happy people !!!
This is a wonderful place. Such a pretty location.
What a beautiful design!
Beautiful 🥰
What a beautiful home! Great design. Love the utility/storage area.
SOOOOOO nice!!
It's got such a moody vibe. Absolutely love this one.
Very organic🎉
Wow 😍 You guys did a great job.
what a great story, thank you both for sharing your experience, it's a beautiful home and really suits you both!
Well-done!!
This tiny home is really ideal.
Very lovely home. ❤❤❤
Definitely one of my to 5 favorite's!!!
Would love to make one of these for me too
This is soooo Gorgeous ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Very nice, clever design! Well done
Absolutely love this house but I would have to have a downstairs bedroom due to health concerns. It’s perfect for a young couple!😊
LOVELY❤!
Did you make it through the hurricane ok? Hope so!
Beautiful home!

Very well done.
Nice house ....beautiful simple decor. But i want the bedroom on the same level 😊
Cozy and Chic.
Beautiful home I love it
Beautiful. Some really great design choices. The elevated kitchen is brilliant. NC has no Tiny Home restrictions?
Love the tiny home & the rustic look to it. I do think they should have mad3 the couch wider as it doesn’t look very comfortable to sit on
Tiny home living is my dream 💗🥹🙏🏽
Great house!
i love this design! at my age, i wouldn't be able to navigate the stairs but otherwise brilliant!!
I love your aesthetic ❤
Very special!❤️
Gorgeous!! 🎉What are the actual measurement of home and deck…Length, Height and depth….? Thx
Beautiful
A black paint on the outside would be really nice, would make a lot of difference. The interior is awesome though.👍🏼
I like it .....I would love it if you had a full side living room/ full sized bedroom.
Very impressive design. Comparable to what many pre-fab companies are trying to sell for double and triple the price.
Really nice
I would love your home
The only problem I have is the ladder you go up to get to the bedroom. I hope youcontinue to enjoy it.
Hold on to the storage under there, but get a comfy couch!!!!!
Air exchanger is must in tiny homes.
Looks great! But I'm sure I'd be hitting my knees and feet on the combo washer/dryer beneath the bathroom sink.
Awesome tiny, except the couch. Just my opinion...im too old to sit on something like that for long. Love everything else

You can tell at 5:30 and 7:51 that those areas are real bricks.
Those bricks are definitely real
@@intherockies The bricks around the wood burning stove are real, but I was referring to the bricks next to the kitchen stove, forming the end wall. I would think that a real/faut brick wall would be difficult to keep clean hygienic. Wouldn’t be my choice.
I love this design! I would put this on my property

Why are they talking about everything in the past tense? Do they not live there anymore?

I'd love to have a block of land to do this on ...I'd love to build a free recycled home over time
Wow you survived Hurricane Helene? That would have been terrifying.
I really wish these tours would say what the dimensions are.
So they don't live in it anymore? Why

Sitting at a counter looking at the wall, not my thing. Great property though.
It would be nice if its already your own land to build a normal bedroom where you can stand and not crank up. Long term plan.
Fire hazard with the stove placement.
