Yesterday I had over-heard that the Cannibal Corpse’ “Vile” album (from 1996) had reached it’s 24 year anniversary. Unbeknownst to me, after much research of the album, I came to realize that they had a song or two from Vile that was in C# standard tuning. Considering I don’t have a guitar in B flat ( like most mid/latter Cannibal Corpse ) yet regularly play a guitar in C#, annnnd found a decent tab of Disfigured on Songsterr… I took it upon myself to attempt to learn, record and release a guitar play-through video to celebrate the 24 year anniversary of Vile. I’m still a bit of a caveman when it comes to recording music, so excuse the outro guitars being a bit high in the mix, and yet kinda hard to hear the distinct improv solo flourishes. I'll be sure to increase production in future videos to come!! Shout out and many brutes thanks to my fellow friends and techs Triple J and Kilner for helping piece together this impromptu video. Vile is such a monster of album that not only saw the departure of infamous Chris Barnes, but equally as pivotal, the entrance of Corpsegrinder George Fischer into the echelon of Cannibal history. Old die hard fans may hate on this album, but even those that still are die hard Barnes fans show appreciation and dig the shit out of Vile. You gotta be crazy not to like this album, or Gallery, or Bloodthirst regardless of preferring Barnes. Disfigured is a three way tie for favourite song of this album alongside Perverse Suffering and Devoured…I still can not believe that this stuff is from 1996...so far ahead of its time in song writing, catchiness, and sheer technical proficiency.

Good job! It’s insane to play the 1st riff and it’s following variations with downstrokes…I think this song is good to train up-down strokes as well to get more clarity. Also thanks for the words of appreciation for the album! 👍 though it’s still controversial for me after ‘The Bleeding’ and I feel few tunes (particularly mid tempo like it is) could suit Barnes vocals probably even better than Corpsegrinder but I support the decision of the band. Corpsegrinder is better rhythmically with fast crazy songs definitely and that makes its impact on songs arrangements.
