I've always wondered about that. I swear when I was younger I seen some people riding laying off the back. I'm not sure how they weren't fucking up the boys.
Laugh all you want at this guy, did you see the smile on his face at 4:08?? History has shown it is scientifically impossible to be sad on a PWC. *THANKS SCIENCE!*
If you lean to one side too much, turn toward the opposite direction. Sounds wierd but it works. The thrust from the nozzle will put the tray back under you. Been riding these since high school. I've had a 440 a 750sxi and now a 701 superjet.
you gave me a bit of confidence! I've been riding the big 300hp 4-stroke SC seadoo's for a while- but always envied the "stand-ups" and wanted to try a stand up. now that I live on the lake, I think my time has come! cheers!
I think you'll get more respect out on the water on a stand up. I mean what you have is nice too but you won't see too many stand ups out there anymore
congrats! Stand up ski's are highly addictive. I suggest getting a sponsor and entering a 12 step program. You will need someone with prior stand up ski addiction experience that can lead you thru it. I bought and rode my first stand up in feb of this year...and its been a tough year to work thru the addiction. You find yourself leaving all your sit down family and friends behind as you constantly desire the perfect high that only 2 stroke fumes and a stand up can provide.
Well done mate, bloody good job for your first time. My only advice is practice, practice, practice. I was the same the first time I rode a stand up and trust me it gets a hell of a lot easier over time. I think your girl had better get one also, way better doing it with a friend. Good luck champ.
Thanks for the idea! I've been out a few more times, and have found that the thrust can help balance. Need to get a wetsuit if I want to ride any more this year though :)
You did a heck of a lot better than I did the first & only time I tried a stand up! My experience including losing my glasses in the water. That sucked! The ski was a 550 I think. was fun for the time I tried it. I just bought a 95' Tigershark Daytona with a 640 in it last year for cheap & had to rebuild the motor. It's almost ready to fire up (I hope). Sit downs are definitely easier to ride! Great vid!
haha I know what you mean. I constantly browse the boat section of craigslist for another sxi, superjet, or even a FX1 which I hear are a cool boat. And you're right on the money, I was looking at backflips on yt just today :)
You learned as fast as I did and told a lot that we learned fast. Only thing I see you doing so well is getting in the tray. My knees killed me and still do getting back in tray. Especially my right knee. Lol. You are pulling in exceptionally well. Lol
if that was really your first time then you did amazing. I know im a bit late but I would tone it down a whole lot and learn the basics first and get use to before trying to carve into turns and fly through some chop (keeping in mind that was your first time). stand ups are the hardest recreational activity I have ever tried.
The best tip in the world is this. Disable the kill switch lanyard, or just leave the little key in it with no lanyard. It'll save you alot of swimming. I'm not joking. When the jet ski idols it will automatically go in circles one way or the other. Just sit back and wait for it to come by. A lot less swimming when you fall. Even if the handle bars are straight, it'll turn in a nice tight circle, right back to you. You're welcome.
Oh and one more thing. Anytime I fall off, I keep a hold of the bars, saves me swimming after it, it helps heaps as where I ski there are a lot of aggressive bull sharks, they do make you a better rider though, as you want to be on top of the water rather than in it with those toothy buggers.
Yikes that's an incentive to stay on the machine! I recently figured that out about holding on, now it's just automatic when I'm falling down just put the death grip on the bars and let drag me along with it!
***** Until you rip your arm out of your socket cause you fell off full throttle. I turn down my idle so low that mine dies out after I fall off. Or get a lanyard switch for it. My two cents.....
First time I rode one, I did pretty good. The only problem I had was we had just got done practicing MX and then took out the jet skis and I cleaned my shorts right off of me from the jet wash! I only had a vest on and there was no way my buddies were ever going to give me a towel to wrap up with. So I spent 30 minutes circling to water before my shorts somehow floated to the surface!
Yeah, it is real fun!! I got a lot more comfortable on the second time out. I felt like a hero, even though I wasn't going very fast! Thanks for the websites!
If you drop your phone in water, put in a jar full of metholated spirits without the battery, then once all that evaporates put it in a jar of rice for a couple of days to draw any moisture out. It works most of the time.
about your first tip, I always pull my self up far enough that my upper thighs are resting on the jet ski to avoid that whole situation. Also, don't attach the tether to you. that way when you fall it stays running and will circle back to you.
+RKF427 You ever had the cable stick on an older ski and watch the ski ride off into the sunset? or watch it slam into shore? Youve obviously never ridding anywhere that has any waves at all.
can you post more vids of your progression on the stand up please as it is worth a laugh ,i wish i could find my short vid of me when i first started i got to cocky riding to close to the beach and ski stuck to the sand and i went flying over the bars haha.
About 10 years ago I had one, I could never stand up on it or keep my balance, so I just rode it on my knees. Bruised them up pretty good and sold it. Want to try it again though.
I bought a 550 rode the first time , hate it I was this close on selling it . I was able to stand up but oh boy. Gave it another chance now I love it .
sick i ride a 2012 sxr800, dustin farthings old ski actually, and when i was first learning to ride way back when i stood up but left the pole on the skee, basically rode bent over but it helped!
Now this is "Jetski" yes a personal watercraft But I can't stand when a (for example) when people call a Seadoo type personal watercraft a "Jetski " A jetski like what this guy is riding takes practice and and patience.. This guy is actually going awesome.. But "Sitdown personal watercrafts , ANYBODY can get on and ride without any knowledge of how to ride. Which is absolutely insanely dangerous. Ha and yep the blast into the nuts hurts like a bitch
If i got one of these, i'd have to get one in plain white (if possible), then repaint it to look like Ryota's Machine from Wave race. probably his alternate number 3 red recolor.
I hear ya, I just bought a new one 2 days ago from craigslist after a ebay phone fail. (Refurbished must mean broken!) I don't expect to buy another for at least 2 years... I hope!
hey buddy just an fyi that sand that is getting kicked up at 0:56 is going through the jets in the watercraft... don't start up a stand up that shallow, especially not going full throttle like you are...
Hi! so I have a question, I have a 01 Yz125 with a acerbis tank... The tank is the "Natural" Color and it does not go with the bike at all, so my question is how would I be able to paint the tank without the paint peeling. I was just gonna spray paint it but alot of people say that the chemicals in the gass will make the paint peel off and then it would look gross. Thanks :D
tell you one lesson you only need to learn once. Don't throttle it with your nuts behind the jet nozzle.
+Logan Newman Haha I realized that, and gave a word of caution in part 2
I've always wondered about that. I swear when I was younger I seen some people riding laying off the back. I'm not sure how they weren't fucking up the boys.
It's not bad as long as you don't give it full throttle. The other thing that can happen is it will just rip your shorts off.
Nah, the play is just a little throttle😉
FREE VASECTOMY BITCHES
Holy mother of tan lines.
Tan Mom would be proud of him.
First thing I noticed, lol
People younger than him, millennials, have no fan lines because they never go outside.
When your confident in life just buy a stand up jet ski and you'll feel an idiot haha
Holy fuck, close the car door
WZW1982 I was just so excited, no time for that!! New jet ski!! Summer!!! Whoooooooo!!!
Jennies Garage can you please tell me how much you payed for that
I have never seen a greater farmer's tan!
He's better off playing marbles.
Laugh all you want at this guy, did you see the smile on his face at 4:08?? History has shown it is scientifically impossible to be sad on a PWC. *THANKS SCIENCE!*

Amen to that!
You learned real quick DON'T LET GO WHEN YOU FALL!! great job you did a lot better than 95%
Jeff White why shouldn’t u let go?
If you lean to one side too much, turn toward the opposite direction. Sounds wierd but it works. The thrust from the nozzle will put the tray back under you. Been riding these since high school. I've had a 440 a 750sxi and now a 701 superjet.
Your right man, that’s the same method I used.

You did far better than I on my first go on a stand up!
Great video! I rode a stand up for the first time today, and man, I am beat.

that is pretty good for the first time ride
Funny he needs to swim back to it. I'm old schooled with mine it goes in circles for you just swim to the circle..
Thanks for the idea! I've been out a few more times, and have found that the thrust can help balance. Need to get a wetsuit if I want to ride any more this year though :)
pwc's never appealed to me, until i watched your learning curve, these obviously are way funner then traditional pwc's! Great video!
You did a heck of a lot better than I did the first & only time I tried a stand up! My experience including losing my glasses in the water. That sucked! In your defense, I've heard the 550s are a lot more tippy than the 750 I was on. Good luck on your project, I hope it gives you some fun this summer!
Must be nice to have a lake that’s not swarming with alligators like a Tarzan movie.
Man I forgot about y'all and look here you are again wow it's been years
haha I know what you mean. I constantly browse the boat section of craigslist for another sxi, superjet, or even a FX1 which I hear are a cool boat. And you're right on the money, I was looking at backflips on yt just today :)

Awsome video to help other first timers. Thanks!

G Parker Also, highly impressive to learn how to ride on one of the most powerful standups. I learned on a js440 and worked my way up. Way to go big!
That sounds like an exciting day! There's another video coming. I still have a long way to go before I'm really comfortable riding.
First time I rode one, I did pretty good. The only problem I had was we had just got done practicing MX and then took out the jet skis and I cleaned my shorts right off of me from the jet wash! That guys tan is gnarly
This video made me chuckle. Never had a go myself but makes me want to try it.
That car door is making me homicidal
AeroSS87 Sorry about that!! easy now....breath in......breath out....
Had my first go on a stand up yesterday... went about like your go... plenty of time in the water and on the water :) brilliant fun though!!!
about your first tip, I always pull my self up far enough that my upper thighs are resting on the jet ski to avoid that whole situation. Also, don't attach the tether to you. that way when you fall it stays running and will circle back to you.
+RKF427 Thanks for the ideas!
+RKF427 the teather idea is really supid and im pretty sure its illegal.
Blair Williams Have you even been out in the water and had to swim 50 feet to your jet ski? Its a lot easier when the thing just circles back to you.
+RKF427 You ever had the cable stick on an older ski and watch the ski ride off into the sunset? or watch it slam into shore? Youve obviously never ridding anywhere that has any waves at all.
Hi nice video I just got a superjet yesterday and I've found that when you start to tip it helps if you turn into it and power out
Ladies you asked for tan lines?
Towards the end you were definitely getting better at falling off.
lol, there's a video of Pablo Escobar riding one of these.
Looks like a heck load of fun
Good vid bro, I'm hoping to get one in a few weeks will take you points on board.
can you post more vids of your progression on the stand up please as it is worth a laugh ,i wish i could find my short vid of me when i first started i got to cocky riding to close to the beach and ski stuck to the sand and i went flying over the bars haha.
Thanks for the video was thinking of getting one but now I'm sure I'm too old and fat😂
Once you start tipping. You floor it. Lol. My biggest tip. Stay into the gas. They aren't meant to putz.
About 10 years ago I had one, I could never stand up on it or keep my balance, so I just rode it on my knees. Bruised them up pretty good and sold it. Want to try it again though.

You're right! I used to live close to that lake. Glad you liked the video.
@@jenniesgarage man that is awesome! I go out there whenever I stay at my buddy’s in Galt!
I've heard that if you put your phone in a ziplock with some rice for a couple of days, the rice will soak up the moisture...sounds plausible.
I stood up on my first try on a 750SX when I was 9
awesome first ski!
Chad Swann Thanks, it's a fun one
Wave Race 64, anyone? 😁 Well, if you rode one manufactured by Kawasaki, yes!
